Glad I'm not the only one missing alcohol then! We're having a family holiday to Italy in a month and I think I'll have a glass or two while we're away as I'll be well into the 2nd trimester then. Wine

I've been reading lots of 'coping with two under two' threads (only the threads that make it seem easy and doable!) and I'm feeling ok about it.. our small gap was not planned but now that it's here I think I'll cope.. hopefully! There must be challenges and benefits to all age gaps and it's almost impossible to pre-plan the perfect gap, so really noone knows exactly what they're getting themselves into to.

coppergrey · 29/05/2016 20:35

I'll be taking inspiration from all you guys with two under two... This is our first but the plan is (all being well) to have another relatively soon afterwards!

Toxo and listeria are the ones that scare me... had a panic about some possibly-unpasteurised feta yesterday but apparently supermarket stuff is fine.

I might treat myself to poached eggs tomorrow!

Beelzebubble · 29/05/2016 21:08

I'd loooooove to go again soon after this one but I can't see us having the finances for another IVF so soon. But hopefully!

Devon2000 · 30/05/2016 22:03

Hi I've just joined. Baby due 16th nov. It'll be the first baby we've had although I count the baby we lost last year as our 'first'. I'm 16 weeks on weds & will be seeing the midwife which will be a relief as I'm starting to worry that I'm not feeling pregnant enough for everything to be okay. I feel a little bloated but I'm not showing at all. I've lost all my 1st trimester symptoms. I think I've felt the baby move even though it's apparently too early? & I've had some aching like my abdomen is stretching but I just feel so normal & I expected to feel different. Does that sound odd? Maybe I should enjoy it whilst it lasts as maybe I'm about to get a whole load of new symptoms?

FuzzyOwl · 30/05/2016 22:40

Hello and welcome Devon. Sorry about your loss last year and hope everything goes well with this pregnancy. I think you can feel movement this early and I only have a little bump - my only symptoms are headaches, spots and buttock pain. I've spent the entire pregnancy so far not feeling at all pregnant!

tapis I was avoiding runny eggs & hugely missing them but then found some articles online like this one www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2016/jan/30/most-british-eggs-safe-for-pregnant-women-report-says basically saying the risk is really only hypothetical as the eggs in this country are really safe because of chickens being vaccinated.

Devon2000 · 30/05/2016 23:10

Thanks fuzzy I've just been catching up on the thread & realised lots of you are having a rough time of it so apologies for moaning about the opposite! It's hard to know what's normal for you when it's the first time. I've read that first time mums show about 4 weeks later than mums who've already had babies so maybe I've a while to go before it's more obvious.

Bollyroo · 30/05/2016 23:50

Devon, this is my first to get this far as well. I'm due 11/Nov and literally just popped a small bump last Thursday. Before that there really wasn't anything to see and it just happened overnight. So don't worry!

FuzzyOwl · 30/05/2016 23:54

My bump appeared when I was 5.5 months pregnant last time.

Hi Devon, we are due date buddies! I'm still being sick every now and then but not for days or weeks at a time. Although I felt nauseous up to 10 weeks, the vomiting didn't start till 12 weeks which I find odd. Feel fine most of the time though.
I have a small bump starting but looks really like I've just eaten a big meal!
I think I felt movement at 15 weeks. I was sat in a scrunched up position with my knees up by my chest and felt light tapping really down low above my public bone. Not felt anything since though!

DuckWaddle · 31/05/2016 05:46

Little grey- hope your appt goes well today xx

BeedlesPineNeedles · 31/05/2016 06:16

liitlegrey good luck for today

I sort of have a bump, but its only really obvious if I'm wearing really tight clothing, otherwise I could just be a bit chubby. I've got a maternity dress on today (a wrap one from jojomaman) so we'll se if anyone who doesn't know notices :o

Devon2000 · 31/05/2016 07:16

Good luck little grey.

slumber nice someone's on the same time line as me! Have you had your 16 wk mw apt? Mines tomorrow, not sure what to expect. Some people were sceptical I'd felt the baby at 14 wks but I think I'd been given such a good description of what it's like that I was looking for it, otherwise I'd not have noticed it. I had to lie flat & still & really concentrate on my abdomen. I've only felt it a couple of times in the last 2 wks but I've heard it comes & goes. Maybe it's to do with the position of the baby.

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 31/05/2016 07:52

Thanks all. Only managed 3 hours sleep last night so already feeling like a zombie. Hoping the news allows me a good sleep tonight!

FuzzyOwl · 31/05/2016 08:46

Thinking of you today LittleGrey. Hope everything goes well and you get good news.

Ameilius · 31/05/2016 09:10

Good luck little! Hope it goes well...

I'm starting to feel movements! (at 17+5wks) Last time I don't think I felt anything til after 20wks so it's lovely and wierd feeling the little 'tapping' and 'swishing' inside. Smile

I'm definitely showing.. blah! Need some good summer dresses as I'm off on hols soon.. Where are you guys finding nice dresses/summery things?

BeedlesPineNeedles · 31/05/2016 09:19

Ameilius do you have Zalando? They do free delivery and returns here and have a few English brands you would recognise (plus a load of expensive Scandinavian brands!) Also Asos have recently started doing free returns from Sweden so might be worth checking their website to see if its the same. I'm not too keen on ordering stuff if I know I'll have to pay to send it back.

needanewjob · 31/05/2016 09:22

Good luck littlegrey hoping for positive news x

coppergrey · 31/05/2016 09:22

Good luck LittleGrey.

Devon, I'm 15 weeks today and don't really have any symptoms now... I have a little bump that's only really visible in tight clothing (and could just be bloating, to be honest!) and I've had lots of stretching, but all my first trimester symptoms are gone.

It's my 16w midwife appointment next Monday and I'm looking forward to being checked over... it feels so odd that you're basically left to your own devices for 8 weeks between the 12w and 20w scans!

coppergrey · 31/05/2016 09:25

Ameilius I bought a few stretchy dresses from Topshop and ASOS. They're SO comfortable, despite being slightly too big for me at the moment! But hoping in the next few weeks I'll start filling them out... the lack of waistband is such a treat!

I also bought some jeggings from Topshop (pretty comfy atm but not sure they will be with a massive bump...) and am waiting for a New Look order with over-bump skinny jeans in blue and black, a black wrap top and a stripy maxi skirt. Will report back with my findings!

smellsofelderberries · 31/05/2016 09:39

Good luck today LittleGrey, will be thinking of you.

Welcome Devon. I'm due on the 12th and also have my 16 week check today!

Really glad to hear some of you don't have a bump! I do if I relax my stomach muscles, but can tighten them almost flat again still. Figure something must be happening if my jeans are so uncomfortable though. My uterus is definitely rounded when I lie on my back, it feels quite hard!

Will be interesting to see what I weigh today's my appointment! Fingers crossed I get to listen to the heartbeat again and can do a little video. My 7 year old nephew is so excited about the baby and loves seeing photos so I want to do a video of the heartbeat for him.

Jamjar12 · 31/05/2016 10:17

I'm 15+2 and I've got a proper bump :( I will admit I kind of love it but it is a little embarrassing as it makes me look much further on than I am! I'm still about 8lb lighter than when I got pregnant but seems like the bump gets bigger by the day. I barely fit into my older clothes anymore so I'm totally into maternity leggings and floaty tops now! It seems to have popped out properly in the last week or 2. I hope some of its bloat, otherwise I'll be giant by the end lol.

Have any of you bought a pregnancy journal? I got a bump to baby one off Amazon and we started filling it out last year (I've been too superstitious about doing it early lol). It made me really emotional writing to the baby and saying things like 'your dad'!

Jamjar12 · 31/05/2016 10:20

Oh, the heartbeat was really strong on my Doppler today so I recorded it for the first time to send to my MIL on my phone. I made a weird noise at the end of the recording so I tried to trim it off the end but ended up deleting it and can't get it back. It was so lovely and clear on the recording. Baby's had enough obviously and hidden somewhere I can't quite hear clearly enough. Grr. Will try again tomorrow!

smellsofelderberries · 31/05/2016 10:53

Jamjar, I'm quite tempted by the Promptly Journals, they're gorgeous, but I'm worried that I wouldn't keep up with it since it's a really long-term book.

Found the cot we want on eBay for quite cheap, very close to us so think I'm going to pull the trigger on it! 🙈

mrsdane · 31/05/2016 11:00

Welcome Devon, I'm also due on 11/11 - there's a few of us due on that Friday, it'll be fun to see where we actually end up!

I've got my 16-18 week appointment on Friday afternoon when I'm 17 weeks - can't wait to hear the heartbeat.copper, I totally agree with you - seems so odd to leave you alone between 12-16/20 (depending on whether it's your first or not) when symptoms go off a bit, and there's no other reassurance.

Although having said that, I woke up with a stinking headache this morning and feels sick as a dog, so I'm sat very still on my sofa at the moment...

No real bump for me unless I eat a big meal, although my pre-preggo clothes are a no-go - I'm definitely into elasticated waistbands.
