Ha that's good to know Bolly and Albus! Sadly mine was just terrifying.

Spottyladybird · 23/05/2016 17:05

Had to have a kidney and bladder scan today due to the uti issues I had so got another sneaky peek at baby. Lovely to see it having a little wiggle and wave.

tiredmumrighthere · 23/05/2016 17:10

Thanks everyone for the well wishes Smile
Op went really well, just waiting for him to be discharged! We've been here since 7:30 this morning and all I've done is eat to make up for the boredom!

Gonna be in for a sleepless night tonight I reckon, son needs painkillers every 2 hrs so got to set alarms Confused for thing has had his heel broken and re-set, a bone on the top of his foot broken and re-set with plate and screws and he's tendon in his big toe moved Sad so can't complain he must be in tonnes of pain!!

Hope everyone is feeling good today xx

tiredmumrighthere · 23/05/2016 17:11

Poor thing*

needanewjob · 23/05/2016 18:06

Ouch!! Oh poor boy and poor you too! Hope everything heals well and he's back to normal soon x

smellsofelderberries · 23/05/2016 18:18

Glad the op went well tiredmum but your poor boy Sad

I've been having nightmares here too, I tend to get the fun dreams in the first tri Confused

I'm so so sad that your calorie intake doesn't go up until the last tri Sad I've just devoured a burrito and a piece of cheesecake and neither have touched the sides. And more annoyingly, the cheesecake was so so disappointing!! I could cry.

Right: I know I have been going on about the sickness, but at what stage would it be reasonable to see a doctor?
I have been sick every day but one in recent weeks, usually around 4 times a day. Before that it was all day nausea and occasional vomiting. Today I have been sick 10 times and kept nothing down, including water. I have started turning down work. My throat is hurting because I am throwing up so much acid. Haven't left house in four days. Am 17 weeks on Wednesday.
I don't want to exaggerate what's normal or seek treatment that doesn't exist, but am starting to get a bit frustrated.

Any help much appreciated.

Tired hope your long night passes as quickly as possible.

needanewjob · 23/05/2016 18:26

almond my SIL suffered like this in both her pregnancies and needed up going to the docs. I think they monitored her fluid intake and she had extra appts to keep and eye on her health. If it gets so bad you can't keep fluids down you can end up being hospitalised but I think that's in extreme cases. I'd always make an appt even if it's just to ease your mind x

almondbutter · 23/05/2016 18:34

Thanks need. I don't think I am in the HG straits but I need something more than nothing. I am seeing the doc on Weds about my reflux, which some of you have said can make a big difference if it's medicated, and will mention the sick too. My only reservation is that my doctor isn't great because it's so rammed and you always have the sense they just want to get you out ASAP. These are the wages of central London life...

coppergrey · 23/05/2016 18:47

Oh almond, it sounds like such a tough thing to deal with! Definitely speak to your Dr or midwife about it. Don't suffer on if it's really affecting your life and work, which it obviously is. Really hope you get some relief soon.

needanewjob · 23/05/2016 19:15

Hmm hope they pay you some proper attention almond getting the reflux treated may also help with the nausea.

Scan tomorrow night... Half excited half terrified. I just want everything to be ok so badly

Fedupithink · 23/05/2016 21:58

Almond nudging 17 weeks is be seeing a doctor now-ish to be honest especially as you haven't even kept fluids down today. My cousin ended up being hospitalised and put on a drip a few times due to dehydration caused by sickness. She swore by flat lemonade if that helps in the meantime.

Good luck forgive scan tomorrow need

Fedupithink · 23/05/2016 21:59

Sorry for the appalling spelling - on my phone!

LadyFarnborough · 23/05/2016 22:18

Feeling moany today. STILL waiting for blood test results (high Down's risk, my trust offers a test similar to Harmony if combined test shows high risk). Still some confusion over whether it takes 5 days (today) or 10 days for results. So everything feels on hold until then - don't want to tell work, friends etc. Excitement being sucked right out of it the longer I wait.
Don't feel pregnant, don't look pregnant, tired, grumpy and fed up of waiting. Woe is me!

almondbutter · 23/05/2016 22:30

Thanks copper and fedup, good to know I'm not overegging it. Will report back from the doctor.

Lady I don't blame you, hard to feel excited when lots of the good bits feel so far down the line. Hope results come soon x

smellsofelderberries · 23/05/2016 22:34

Good luck for the scan tomorrow need, will be thinking of you.

Lady, that sounds tough. Have you tried calling them? Fingers crossed all is well with your little one. I know how you feel. Even now I feel like I'm being silly for buying maternity clothes and baby things. Hopefully you don't have to wait another 5 days for the results.

LadyFarnborough · 23/05/2016 22:46

Smells, yes I rang this morning and spoke to the midwife who gave us the counselling and blood test last week. It wasn't back at that point and she was going to check this afternoon but as I didn't hear back I presume it still wasn't back. Will ring again tomorrow - I at least have her direct number now.

I feel bad moaning when other people are having a harder time and struggling with symptoms or bad news. I just hate being in limbo.

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 23/05/2016 23:06

Fingers crossed they get back to you with good news very quickly lady.
Hope you're feeling better soon almond. It sounds ghastly!
Hope tomorrow's scan is positive need.
I've got a consultant appointment tomorrow though not exactly sure what about! I think it's because of my latest news but it's an obs & gynae appointment with an endocrinology consultant who I've seen previously about my post-partum thyroiditis that was caused by my first pregnancy! I feel a bit like I'm falling apart at the moment! Anyway, hopefully it'll be a positive meeting and by the end I'll know why I went!

FuzzyOwl · 23/05/2016 23:42

Hope all goes well tomorrow LittleGrey. I'll have everything crossed that this will be positive from now for you.

Thinking of you Lady and hope you have the results tomorrow.

Good luck tomorrow need and everyone else with scans.

almond definitely more than reasonable to see a doctor now.

LittleGrey all good thoughts going with you to tomorrow's appointment.

Jamjar12 · 24/05/2016 06:17

Fedup, we're not finding out the sex until baby is born! I think it's so exciting not knowing but unfortunately, rather impractical lol. I reckon girl and DH says boy!

As for dreams, I had an absolute nightmare the other day that I had a 3 week old baby, an 11 month old, a 4 year old and a 6 year old. We were all in a communal shower type bit in like a holiday park or a pool and I was trying to get all 4 showered. I ended up having a breakdown and had to put the baby on the floor to get control of the others! I was so stressed when I woke up that I had the worst nosebleed lol!

Almond, I so feel your pain. I've been averaging 10-20 times a day of actual puking. I think I remember when throwing up bile was unpleasant and terrifying but now I live in a world where that's totally normal and just part of my daily routine! When I spoke to the midwife, she said as long as I'm keeping fluids down, it's just my body coping with hormones. But if you're not keeping fluids down, you need to either call your midwife or your GP. Failing that, try an on call or A&E,

Hope everything goes well for you today Littlegrey Flowers

almondbutter · 24/05/2016 07:24

Jamjar YES to the normality of puking. It's such a casual part of my day now, like 'oh, better go and throw up again'. So relieved you said that. Are you managing to work/keep to normal routines?

BeedlesPineNeedles · 24/05/2016 07:31

jamjar & fedup I don't think we're going to find out either, though Iimagine in about 20 weeks time we'll be desperate to know. I Think at the moment I'd rather a girl but only bcause I can't really think of any boy names I like that work!

Little hope the appointment goes well, perhaps you could ask why you're been referred at the start, so you can understand a bit better

CakeAndChocolate · 24/05/2016 07:33

Thinking of you today LittleGrey

needanewjob · 24/05/2016 07:42

Good luck today littlegrey and thank you everybody. Ooh it'll be a long wait until tonight.... Scans not until 730!
