No cooked ham is fine! It's just uncooked meats you can't eat.

Babydreaming · 27/05/2016 22:42

Talking of foods...I'm going out to an Italian this weekend. I checked out the menu and I really fancy the seafood risotto. It has mussels prawns squid etc, it's all cooked but would you risk it? Wondering if I should just stick to pizza!

bumbleclat · 27/05/2016 22:44

I'm 10 weeks and still SO nauseous from 4pm onwards, it just increases and increases until sometime before midnight, I'm sick then I sleep.
It's so horrible and really cutting my days short, is anyone else still feeling rough at the ten week mark?

cnchapmanxx · 27/05/2016 23:44

Hi ladies thanks so much for your kind words this morning! I ended up crying in a hormonal wreck in the hotel bathroom floor last night before we went out for tea, then I started feeling sick and brought up a tiny bit. I'm such a worrier! The oh was so good he literally takes everything in his stride.

Good luck to everyone with there scans it's so exciting! Currently sweating my tits off under an umbrella round the pool as I have a heat rash or prickly heat Sad never had it before my skin is so good in the sun but went to the chemist and she said it's because I was pregnant and got some calomile lotion! XXXX

Azure83 · 27/05/2016 23:57

chapman i feel so sorry for you! I got some sort of allergy/prickly heat earlier this year on our honeymoon. It was awful. I don't know how bad is it and how you are coping but my advice is - definitely calamine lotion!!! Try not to use any creams, other lotions etc, the skin needs to sweat. I also got several antihistamine shots as tablets wouldn't cut it but I wasn't pregnant back then. Hope it goes away soon! X

TinySalmon · 28/05/2016 00:28

Me too bumble. I'm 10+4 and was sick twice today. Still can't go to our basement floor where the kitchen is as whatever is down there the smell is making me gag - this is after my cleaner and I spent 3 hours scrubbing the floors and making sure there's no sitting dust etc. I'm queasy at the drop of a hat without warning and if I lie down for too long or eat the wrong thing or smell the wrong thing, I'm sick.

Feels like no end in sight! When will it end???

ElectraJane84 · 28/05/2016 00:41

Hi I'm due December 9th I have my scan booked in for next Wednesday. So excited!!! I'm new here, so may sound a bit silly but can you 'join' a due December club or anything on here? Smile

cnchapmanxx · 28/05/2016 01:12

azure thankyou Hun yeah it seems to have cooled it down and the lumps now have eased as my skin was raised before! It's just on my stomach, never ever had it before in my 26 years and we go away quite regularly so maybe might have something to do with being pregnant! but I've just continued to use factor 30 cover my stomach and sit under the shade haha! We fly home Monday so not long left! And I can't even take anti histamine either boo!! Bless you I bet you were in pain, can't even take anti histamine either xxxx

bumbleclat · 28/05/2016 06:16

Tinysalmon it's really miserable isn't it?
We didn't bother doing good shopping this week because I can't stomach anything but lemon water and cereal so buying normal food would be a waste (DH doesn't mind a bit living on Alpen) I know what you mean about not being able to be in the kitchen, bless DH has literally done all the washing up for past 5 weeks without complaining once. I wish I could clean everything in the house.
I'm putting our sheep skins in the washing machine today because to me they stink of a dog I looked after months ago for a day!
I look at our "cream" coloured sofas and fantasise about having some expensive company come and shampoo them they look filthy.
I like being at school (teacher) because everything is super clean but as soon as I get home, the array of smells just drives me to the bedroom which is kind of neutral.
So looking forward to the magical 12/14 week mark, it gets you down after a while.
Hope you feel better today Flowers

Chookchick · 28/05/2016 08:42

Prickly heat? Oh no. Another peril to avoid! Hope you enjoy the rest of your hols Chapman
Welcome ElectraJane! My scan is a week on Tuesday, it seems like an absolute age away. Is this your first?

I'm so lucky with symptoms, I haven't dared post! I'm just waking early, aversion to smells and craving eggs! Sadly my oldest school pal miscarried last week (9 weeks) and it really helped knowing you guys, it really helped me keep perspective and support her... Thank you!!!

Sunnydays321 · 28/05/2016 08:46

I'm also rh neg (AB- too azure... We are the rarest blood group you know,

SouthDownsSunshine · 28/05/2016 08:50

I get the heat rash as well - although I get it anyway, it's just worse in pregnancy. I use factor 30 on any skin that hasn't seen the sun, and I can gradually reduce it. Aveeno is good for calming it, or I use a non-steroid eczema cream if it's bad.

ElodieS · 28/05/2016 08:57

I'm with you bumble and salmon, still feeling very rough, generally being sick once a day and trying to shovel food down my neck between times. Yesterday was a 3 pike day but I think that was mostly the journey and my gag reflex after DT1 got travel sick in the car. I had a miraculous, pretty much overnight recovery from ms at 13 weeks in my first pregnancy so hoping for the same this time.

Blimmin' love Emily Oster, swan, if anyone's after a sensible pregnancy book, if highly recommend her 'Expecting Better'. I never did find a good twin one though really.

Sorry to hear you've been feeling rubbish chapman! Hope the camomile clears it up sharpish.

Welcome Electra!

SaintExupery · 28/05/2016 09:40

I'm in the rh neg gang. I had to have anti-d after my last ERPC. I don't recall it being especially terrible (but I suppose I was a bit out of it). Thanks sunnydays for explaining the science - interesting!

Sorry to hear you're suffering in the sun chapman but thank you for the heads up! I'm going on hols in a few days and it never occured to me that my skin might react differently to heat because I'm pg. Buying toiletries to take today so I'll speak to the chemist and get some calamine lotion in case.

Still rough here at 12+3. This waiting for the scan is torture. My work trousers are getting tight but I daren't buy anything maternity till I feel a bit more reassured everything's ok this time.

Azure83 · 28/05/2016 10:04

sunnydays I know, very rare, apparently doesn't feature in Japan at all! Random morning fact there for you. Grin
Thanks for some good science behind it, it makes sense. We will be doing Harmony in a couple of weeks, not sure if they work out the baby's blood group as well but I'll ask.

Eskerina81 · 28/05/2016 11:05

swan & elodies completely agree about Emily Oster. I've just been rereading her book - loads of useful information.

I got my nuchal test results this morning and everything is low risk :)

ElectraJane84 · 28/05/2016 12:14

Ah thanks Chookchic and ElodieS - glad to be here! Chookchic yes it does seem like an age and mines only 4 days away! Haha! Lucky you girl I've been sick as a dog and absolutely shattered but sickness starting to ease now which is marvellous! Hoping to enjoy this next trimester. I'm so so sorry for your friend, I had 3 miscarriages in a row last year so this little bubba better stay put! Just keep giving your friend lots of love, she will get there I promise Flowers

ElectraJane84 · 28/05/2016 12:17

Chookchic this is my first yes X

Bigfam · 28/05/2016 15:52

Congrats and welcome ElectraJane84 Smile

SouthDownsSunshine · 28/05/2016 19:25

Anyone else suffering from constipation? I've only been doing a poo every other day for ages now, and I can't go at all at the moment :( I feel like I need to go urgently, but then I can't. I'm going to have to crack open the movicol soon.

bumbleclat · 28/05/2016 19:27

Southdowns yes I have, Im only going once every 3-4 days.
The only thing Ive found that helps is drinking ridiculous amounts of water, they're really hard though (TMI)
Oh the joys!

becciandbump · 28/05/2016 19:28

southdownsunshine me to I got it pre pregnancy but it's even worse now I can go without for over a week. I find 2 sachets of fibrogel a day help plus a glass of prune juice a day it tastes horrible but works x

swancourt · 28/05/2016 19:46

Yes southdowns! Trying to keep hydrated and eat a lot of fruit, and it's making it bearable. Still not great though!

SouthDownsSunshine · 28/05/2016 20:01

I can't eat much fruit yet, or plain water. I don't think my carb heavy diet helps. Hopefully a course of movicol will shift it.

Bigfam · 28/05/2016 20:07

I'll join the constipated camp too Grin
Big tmi alert, but last week after I'd, ahem, had a bowel movement, the toilet was full of blood with spatters as well, my stomach dropped, but after wiping it was very clear it wasn't from my errrrr, baby hole Blush (sorry I did say tmi, how embarrassing)
