littlebear, mine was very wriggly for my 12 week scan last week, but for the nuchal yesterday he/she was asleep! In a perfect position and only some slight sleepy arm movement.

We had a great sonographer yesterday, she looked to see if she could work out the gender from the nub. Apparently she can often say she's 70-80% sure of the gender, but she was completely 50-50 with ours!

That's good, Soloman. And nice to have 2 scans - they're a bit addictive, aren't they? I said to my husband that if I worked in a hospital I'd be scanning myself every day! Do you have a lovely scan pic to share with us?

I found out I had put on 12 pounds already this morning! I have not dealt with this very productively today (eating croissants, cheese, and Ben and Jerry's cookie dough ice cream).

Got my screening results this morning. All low risk (1 in 21,000 for Downs; 1 in 49,000 of trisomy 13; and less than 1 in 50,000 for trisomy 18). Feeling a bit more reassured now as I'm the 'wrong side of 30' so I was expecting my risks would come back higher to be honest.

I've emailed the German provider of the Harmony test to find out about going there to have the Harmony test. They do test women from other countries, but all the instructions were for getting your Dr to do things. Drs here aren't involved in ante natal care and they don't take blood samples either! I live near the German border, so I think it should be possible for me to have the blood test in Germany.

Omg, major hormone meltdown day!! A child I work with sent me a get well soon card, I opened it and couldn't stop crying!! He's written it all himself and he misses me!!

That's great news littlebear. I'm rhesus negative as well. It's not too much hassle, just injections when you bleed, at 28 weeks and after birth.

How often are the injections needed if you bleed, South? I'm really hoping I won't have any more, but if I did in the next few weeks would I need another anti-d? They're a bit ouchy, aren't they? I thought I was an injection pro after IVF but today's anti-d was sore!

I am also RH negative. Seems like a lot of us considering they made it sound unusual. I hate injections and am worried now. What's it like?

It's a very quick injection Bow, and only a small needle but the solution stings quite a bit when they push the plunger. They do it in your arm or bottom, bottom is probably the better option as more cushioned! You then just feel a little bruised after. Sorry to have worried you, it's really not that bad.

It's stingy,yes! The 28 week one lasts a bit longer 😣 I think it lasts a month, but phone and double check if you bleed again.

You also need the injection if you get a big bump to the bump.

It's not that painful, you can feel the solution going in, but it doesn't last long.

Interesting that my fellow IVFers are rhesus negative - I wonder if there's a link?

Worryingly, my midwife and the hospital didn't point out that I was rhesus negative. I remembered my mum saying years ago that either my brother or I had a rare blood type, so I asked the doctor to check just before leaving hospital today. He said 'oh yes, you're rhesus negative, you'll need an anti-d injection'. Do you think I should mention this to my midwife? I know it would've been checked when I had bloods taken at my 7 week booking in appt, so can't help thinking it should've been flagged up to me?

little bear I wasn't told the outcome of my bloods either it wasn't until about 5 weeks later I was at another appt and I said I take it I wasn't negative in the end as I didn't hear and when they checked it I was.

I'm AB- and not looking forward to bottom injections!

I found it a bit ouchy last time but I didn't have it in my bottom! I just remember it taking rather a long time and my midwife just saying 'Sorrysorrysorry' as I said 'Owowow' - and she was not the most sympathetic!

The one after the birth I didn't register at all to be honest.

Thanks for that it's good to know it's not too bad. I got told by the hospital after my booking appointment bloods but can't say they explained it very well! Think you should definitely be told just in case you have a bump.

I'm a bit confused, ive been avoiding Parma ham and chorizo but still been eating ham as I thought this was cooked. Is packaged ham supposed to be off limits?

Everybody has to make their own choices, of course, but I read that last article in my last pregnancy and it made me a lot more relaxed.
