Tiny you have my sympathy! My downstairs loo currently smells like the boys toilets (I have three boys who miss regularly)... I haven't tackled it recently (because it'll make me sick) but when I feel up to it I scrub the floor & walls with a mix of cheap vinegar and sodium bicarbonate plus water. Does the trick! Then I line the boys up and moan at them for their lack of aim Hmm

kippersandcurtains · 24/05/2016 10:06

Hello peeps. Still failing to keep up with the thread, but wanted to pass on happy scan news to add to the others yesterday. We have a healthy singleton with a new EDD of 1st Dec - all is well & much relief in the kipper-camp.
Symptoms have eased also - feeling way more capable and motivated plus decline in nausea. Hip hip hooray for the end of the worst trimester…

Bigfam · 24/05/2016 10:15

Speaking of moving, we moved in to out new house on 26th of Jan last year, dd3 was born just TWO days later on the 28th, that was hard work. We're never moving again Grin

Last pregnancy I was sick all the way through so I send my sympathies too, I hope you feel better soon and it improves as you near 12 weeks

SouthDownsSunshine · 24/05/2016 11:01

tiny you have my sympathies. Our current house stunk when we moved in. We ripped up all the carpets, got rid of damp problems, repainted and cleaned obsessively. I highly recommend using lots of febreeze!

So exciting to hear more positive news from scans :)

weechops · 24/05/2016 11:30

Well I'm all officially booked in now 😊 Midwife said that for now I have to see the consultant because of a previous emergency section, but because I had a vbac last time, they may just refer me back to midwife led care. Fingers crossed!

fiddlesticks123 · 24/05/2016 12:58

Fantastic to hear good news and see more gorgeous scan pictures Grin

This week is really dragging for me, got a couple of loooong car journeys with work and now the first scan and booking appt are done, symptoms are dying down and I feel like I'm just waiting for my bump to start showing properly rather than the current bloating situation!

We're going to a wedding this weekend and one of my friends is also going who is a couple of months further on, she's really blossomed and none of these friends know about my pregnancy so I'm already getting envious of her gorgeous bump and me looking like I've not stopped celebrating Easter Chocolate

underrugsswept · 24/05/2016 13:49

Lovely scans! Is anyone feeling brave enough to share a bump photo yet? Grin

Bigfam · 24/05/2016 14:02

underrugsswept. I'm still sporting a 'beer belly' from before falling pregnant, it's definitely NOT a baby bump Blush

MrsJoJo · 24/05/2016 14:42

WWYD? I had bloods taken at my booking app two weeks ago and again yesterday at my scan. Both results show a white cell count higher than average (but not so high as to give them too much cause for concern) so I guess it'll be monitored at my next appointment which isn't for another month now. Midwife who called me with the results clearly hadn't looked at my file as she didn't know how many weeks pregnant I am or any of my previous history with pre-eclampsia and PUPPP which I detailed at length at my booking appointment (DS was born overseas so they don't have these records to hand)...

So, do I just hold out until my next app or visit my GP? Dr. Google doesn't seem to think the results are anything to worry about. I'm normally quite relaxed about everything but have such a busy schedule at the mo (work full time, preparing to move house and DP is away most of the week) that I'm wondering if I need more rest (as suggested by the midwife, my diet isn't perfect but it's perfectly healthy) or if it really is nothing to worry about!

fiddlesticks123 · 24/05/2016 15:02

Hi MrsJoJo as a first timer and complete pregnancy novice I don't really know what those letters even mean let alone the implications or possible challenges associated with white blood cell count but I'd say if you're at all concerned - which, understandably it seems you are - then you should speak with your GP to get some extra perspective, especially given the MWs blatant lack of context if she didn't recall or know about your situation and previous history.

Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will be along soon to give some better advice Flowers

MrsJoJo · 24/05/2016 15:40

Thanks Fiddlesticks! Pregnancy with the NHS is a whole new experience for me as DS was born overseas where everything was consultant led and nothing was ever too much trouble. My Aunt's a retired midwife so I'm going to have a chat with her too - just wanted all my formal blood results first though and don't have anything yet.

bumbleclat · 24/05/2016 18:59

Hi all, lovely scan pictures! Mines not until the 13th June so a while to wait yet.
I have bled a bit the day following having an orgasm (TMI) so sex it off the agenda for now, I'm still going to bed when I get home from work and everything I think of eating makes me feel nauseous.
Poor DH has basically been doing Everything lately and I'm feeling a bit bad about that- dirt of distant from him.
I'm 9+4 so really slogging it out til the 12 week mark.

bumbleclat · 24/05/2016 18:59

Sort of not dirt of Blush

flyawayblue · 24/05/2016 19:09

Lovely to see all the scans! Mine is the 17th June which feels ages away .. They've also moved the scans so they are in a new fancy building, the problem is it's next door to our office so I'm sure I'll bump into someone I know.

Sunnydays321 · 24/05/2016 19:35

Hi mrsjojo, unofficial advice but il explain what is normal in our trust. White blood cells are often marginally raised in pregnancy because your immune system response is altered. In normal life they like wbc to be below 11, but in pregnancy the upper limit is 16. So they don't usually do anything different unless they are over 16. If they are over 16 it's fairly routine to send a urine sample, vaginal swab and sometimes throat swab to rule out obvious infections. If you feel unwell in anyway/symptoms of uti/abnormal discharge etc I would see GP. Otherwise it's normal to just monitor.

Also just keep in mind that your midwife is probably caring for 100-120 different women, and if she was calling about your bloods wouldn't necessarily have all your records to hand. It's hard to remember 120 people's names never mind their due date and history, especially when they have only met you once. They will probably remember more once they have met you a few times. Xx

lilydaisyrose · 24/05/2016 20:10

Hello everyone!
Exhausted Lily here after a very busy week or two. Very emotional about my wee boy (youngest) turning 7!
11+2 today. Baby 3. Has anyone else at a similar stage felt movement? It's been so long I've forgotten what it feels like but I was just sitting just now and could swear I felt movement.

Scan next Mon 30/5. Still not planning on telling anyone until past 16w - only 5w to go.

tisilisa · 24/05/2016 22:42

Such good news azure 😃😃 I'm so pleased for you.

I've found myself getting rather impatient with people recently which is not ideal when I'm working all day with the public. My poor DP is being fabulous with me.

I am 11+2 today and I'm finding it harder to not tell people but I only have until 2nd June until my scan. Once I have told my boss I can start telling everyone else...

barkingtreefrog · 24/05/2016 22:47

Solomon yes, the scan was at 11+3 and we'd never got as far as 8w with the previous 3. I don't know how if I'm more scared about going through another loss, or the knowledge that there will never be another try (can't afford any more ivf either financially or emotionally!)

We heard back from the harmony tests tonight - all low risk, and we're having a girl!!!! 'Oh well' said DH?!
I was leaning towards thinking it was a boy, so it was really strange seeing it in words as 'girl'. It's the first thing that has got me excited rather than scared, it was really weird (in a good way!) It might be starting to feel real Grin.
Roll on 12w scan and bloods.....

MrsJoJo · 24/05/2016 22:51

Thanks SunnyDays your advice is really helpful! I will call them back tomorrow to note the actual figures as all I recall is 'elevated' - the midwife was really patient with me on the phone as I quizzed her but my previous experience has taught me to challenge everything that doesn't quite feel right (I am not a worrier in the slightest and had no additional qu's yesterday or at my booking appointment).

ermmm · 24/05/2016 23:54

Hiya ladies. Hope you all are having a better time then me. I have not been able to keep any food down all week now. Living on ice lollies and tea and toast.
Am always tired and today I slept most of the day away- well I tried but the phone kept going off to check up on me lol.
Feel really weird as still tired after snooze.
Just waiting now to be sick again as I can feel it working up the courage to make an appearance.
Oh dh is banished o the spare room as even though I'm being sick and smelling the bathroom out his odour is making me worse lol. He was not impressed to hear I said he smelt when he was standing in a towel straight out of shower lol

Sunnydays321 · 25/05/2016 06:54

Mrsjojo, yeah definitely question if something doesn't feel right. I think intuition is one of the most powerful tools in pregnancy! And don't be afraid to seek a 2nd opinion, see your GP etc if you aren't happy with the advice. The guideline might be different in your trust, annoyingly they often differ greatly from one hospital to another.

Oh ermmm you poor thing. The most I was sick in one day was 4x and I think I cried a little bit. And most days it was once or not at all. I can't imagine how dreadful you feel. Go and see your GP, there are lots of safe anti sickness mess you can take in pregnancy. And if your GP is useless see another, some aren't great at managing pregnancy sickness. Make sure you are keeping down fluids.

barkingtreefrog that is so amazing! I can't believe you know you are having a girl, that must feel a bit surreal. I'm so happy for you, you've had such a long journey here. Haha my hubby said the same to me the other day (I think he was 90% joking! I hope) I said I think it's a girl and he said "never mind we can always try again!!

tisilisa our scans are on the same day. I will be 13+0 at my scan. Feels like such a long wait! I too also just want to tell people. I feel like some would have had their scans by now and be spreading the news, Iv heard the heartbeat so I know it's ok.. But we agreed to wait to have the scan, must be patient! Aghh.

lilydaisyrose it's my 1st baby so I'm very unlikely to feel anything until 16-20 weeks, but I know many women having subsequent babies feel movements very early, some are 100% sure they have felt it from 10+ weeks. Your tummy muscles have a little bit more give so you will feel your uterus higher up, and you know what to look for.

Hope everyone else is having a good week, and sickness is starting to settle for everyone. I haven't been sick in a week and got more energy now, and sleeping better. 11+6 today. Enjoy the sunshine! X

weechops · 25/05/2016 07:00

barking yay congratulations on being in team pink. Lovely!

flyaway my scan is on the 17th too. Still seems like ages away!

ermmm I feel so bad for you! Hopefully things will ease up soon, but maybe go see your gp too.

I've woken up with the start of a migraine and these are always the worst kind for me, so I've had to take one of my 30/500 cocodamols to try and stop it. Really don't like taking them but I can't be out of action for 3 days when dh isn't here to help me!

Theaks · 25/05/2016 07:20

barking team pink that's lovely.
I'm still thinking that I will wait to the big event to find out. But I know I will be tempted!!

ermmm how awful, I seem to feel horrible on a morning and it's going by 10. I couldn't imagine feeling like it all day!

DartmoorDoughnut · 25/05/2016 07:22

barking I may or may not be having happy tears for you

DartmoorDoughnut · 25/05/2016 07:26

I have zero symptoms again apart from the very early on nausea at about 5/6 weeks. Scan next Thursday - 2nd - maybe that'll help make it real?! ILs are coming over this afternoon - DH off for the week - so planning a lazy afternoon whilst they all entertain the toddler DH stroked my stomach last night, I told him to leave my pies alone Grin
