PotatosMum · 09/05/2016 09:34

Summers here and bumps are busy growing. Scans photos are coming thick and fast and team pink and blue are rampining up their numbers.

We have new grads furiously POAS, second trimesters eager for their bumps and veterans about to embark on trimester 3 and contemplating baby size with mild terror apprehension.

The weathers to hot for comfort and our pregnancy aches, pains and symptoms are getting on our tits literally in some cases !!

All are welcome to TTC#1 grads thread #6

Thanks Shelb! You've just proven my last post x

StarkyTheDirewolf · 10/05/2016 19:18

I know what you mean lisa as soon as I got 2 lines I was like "I can't wait to tell the girls!" Grin

Had weird cramps and stabby pains and a shed load of cm today, keep thinking I've started bleeding, had a funny feeling last couple of days! Probably because it's so close to the scan, I'm expecting something awful to happen.

BunchOfBobs · 10/05/2016 19:20

Soda it's definitely a symptom. My DH has had to use ear plugs for the last two weeks and I wake up with such a dry throat in the night. Also.... Drooling. God we're a gorgeous lot!

Yay for movement Lauren. So exciting. Hope you're having a lovely time.

Haha Lisa. I'm just glad to know our contributions are not scaring you all.

Starky cramps are normal. Try not to worry. A bit tmi here but I'm getting massively increased amounts of cm. To the point I keep thinking I've wet myself. It's sho shexy.

StarkyTheDirewolf · 10/05/2016 19:20

Sorry you've had a stressful day potato

And congratulations for team blue leonie how lovely!

This thread is full of bouncing baby buys and bonny baby girls! 💙💟💙💟💙💟💙

Pinklily1 · 10/05/2016 19:21

So much to catch up on from today!

Welcome back Miley! We've missed you. Hope you had a fabulous time. Kielder is lovely.

leonie, congratulations on Team Blue! Very exciting! Hope the can went well?

Shelb are you feeling better now?

Potato, that's rubbish about the mortgage stress. Fingers crossed it all goes through ok and you can make the various improvements over coming years. We moved into a new build last year and there is a long list of things we want to do to make it feel less clinical, but it's just impossible money wise to do it all at once.

I've had a bit of heartburn over the past week or so and have been using the Gaviacon tablets which seem to help. I also find that bacon sandwiches help, although that's mainly an excuse to eat them. Grin

I've been stocking up on prune products today to ensure the constipation stays at bay!

Is anyone else using stretch mark cream or oil? I'm going through Bio Oil like it's going out of fashion.

For those who asked about my bump picture dress - it's from Oasis but I got it last summer.

StarkyTheDirewolf · 10/05/2016 19:22

Omg yes bunch the dribbling and snoring! More than once dh has woken me up to make me turn over as I sound like a airplane taking off!

leoniethelioness · 10/05/2016 19:34

Thanks for all of the congratulations! We are thrilled. It was such a relief to see him on the scan. I have an anterior placenta so I'm feeling less stressed about not feeling much movement yet. He was wiggling around lots and we saw his heart beating. I've bought him some dinosaur sleep suits! Feels like my first real baby purchase as the pram and bedding won't arrive until next month!

BunchOfBobs · 10/05/2016 19:36

Glad it's not just me Starky Grin

Hope you're okay Potato try not to let today get you too down. I'm sure it's knocked the wind out of your sails. If you're anything like me and enjoy planning you can have all the work you want done planned to a tee!! It'll be the most organised diy plan ever Smile

IndiX · 10/05/2016 20:27

Leonie what lovely news!!

Soda re: not feeling real..I am 18w tomorrow and although my belly is starting to pop a bit and I can feel very gentle movements, I can't get it in my head that I will have my OWN baby in Ocotober.

I'm back home in Liverpool now, weather isn't great here (typical, it's cracking the flags back in Scotland) but it's nice seeing family and got some lunch dates organised with friends over the next few days.

To all the girls feeling fat/flabby/bloated..I'm in the same boat this week. My belly has just started to stick out at the bottom so it's not big enough to look like a proper bump and I feel like I have to apologise for my flabby tummy and tell people I am pregnant and not just stuffed myself with carbs. Also I have been weighing myself weekly so far, but I don't know whether to stop now..I'm not going to see a number I like realistically and I think it may put me on a downer.

Laurenrl · 10/05/2016 21:13

Another with more and more Cm as time goes on, keep worrying my waters are leaking or I've wet myself a little bit but it's just Cm each time, so gross! Pregnancy is a delight

StarkyTheDirewolf · 10/05/2016 21:46

indi it's been gorgeous here (Manchester) all week up until today. My dsis was in Liverpool yesterday with a poorly horse and a he said it was beautiful there too.

BunchOfBobs · 10/05/2016 21:56

Ahh Indi. Liverpool

StarkyTheDirewolf · 10/05/2016 22:03

I went to uni in Chester, have decided me and dh are going for a day out there over the summer. And then to Liverpool at the end of summer for gaudy, tacky baby stuff which only the very scouse would apprexiate/buy Grin

Being divebombed by a 5 lb chihuahua who's about to get a hearty telling off!

Ni4444 · 10/05/2016 23:04

So here you all are grads!!! I finally get to join because month 7 heralded a BFP!!! Just last Saturday so I'm still letting the news sink in!!

Miley great to hear the nausea has died down!!

Pink you're team pink??? How lovely!!! I'd love a girl (we'll wait til arrival to find out) but I read that boy sperm are fast swimmers but don't survive very long so most likely when dtd was close to ov day, girl sperm are slower but survive longer so most likely if dtd further from ov date. We dtd on O day....so I'm kinda thinking it's gonna be a boy! Anyone else hear of this??

So constipation as well as nausea around the corner? Great!!! Confused

Sodasoda · 10/05/2016 23:24

Congratulations and welcome ni! Yes, lots of delightful symptoms to look forward to! Grin

Speaking of which.... Yup, lots of CM here too. Only in the last couple of weeks though - didn't notice much before then.

pink I'm using mamma mio stuff for stretch marks. I got a set as a gift from my best pal who swears by it but it's pretty pricey so when it runs out I might be moving onto something else! Slathering it all over boobs and bump at the moment!

Laurenrl · 10/05/2016 23:59

I'm from chester originally stark and will be moving back before the baby's born, I miss it a lot and my family are all there plus London is too expensive to raise a child so our little house there will be going up for rent.

Totally agree with you about Liverpool, you'll get some unique baby stuff on the markets for sure!

Congrats ni! welcome to the thread!

BunchOfBobs · 11/05/2016 04:43

Woohoo congrats and welcome Ni!

So I'm struggling with insomnia tonight. Got up at 0.40 and 3.11 for a wee. Haven't slept since and had to go forage in the kitchen for food at 4. Still hungry, still wide awake.........

Pink I'm using coconut oil. Apparently it's all down to genetics though. As where the stretch happens moisturiser cannot penetrate, if your going to get them, you will. I'm fully expecting them as have them on my hips/muffin top area from puberty. It's laughable as I have literally no hips.

leoniethelioness · 11/05/2016 05:38

Hi Ni!

Up at 5 am for work. Eight hour round trip for a two hour meeting... Guess whose back is going to be sore?

Argh xxx

Canters15 · 11/05/2016 07:47

Panty liners are a preggo lady's friend!

ni we DTD on ov day too so I am also expecting it to be a boy! Of course no way of knowing if that shag was the magic one or not.

PotatosMum · 11/05/2016 07:57

Morning all, how are you today?

Bunch sorry the stupid Dr was too proddy yesterday.
I don't want to go into too much detail about the mortgage problem but it involves an ex defaulting on an account without our knowledge. This account is linked to us and has destroyed our credit.

Miley unfortunately a default is more serious than a missed payment and is fairly catastrophic for credit ratings. Sad

Danni unfortunately we're going to be wiped out financially for the next two years due to having to take a mortgage that is way, way more expensive than planned Sad
I shouldn't worry about requesting a back rest and a stool... They're fairly normal things to request when pregnant... I had to get a whole new chair!

leonie congrats on team blue!!!

Shelb we should find out today if our mortgage will go through or not.
Regarding hospital bags, there seems to be a wide disparity over what should go in them. Some websites seem to suggest you take everything but the kitchen sink!!

Lisa lol, I think the big sister analogy is lovely. I know one or two people in real life who've been pregnant but I always come here to ask questions too. It's just feels like a nice safe environment.

Stark please don't worry, various stretchy, stubby and pulls pains are normal as is increased CM. you're nearly there, I'm sure you'll feel better once you've seen a real baby shaped thing on your scan Smile

Soda I think my OH must be pregnant as he's started snoring in the past few weeks Confused

Pink I'm using bio oil too when I can be bothered remember Wink

Ni congrats and welcome Grin let me know your EDD and I'll add you to the list Smile

I have to reschedule my midwife appointment today as I accidentally double booked with my rescheduled mortgage appointment. Why is life so stressful?
Really hoping we can get everything pinned down today as although I've been quite calm about things OH is absolutely beside himself with worry and upset. It's really brought him crashing down but I've just come to the conclusion that we'll have a nice house and we'll be able to afford all our bills and food so we'll be fine for a couple of years. Luckily we bought a lot of glamping gear last year so we should be able to have some nice inexpensive holidays to break up the time and we were planning a very inexpensive wedding (registry office and reception in the back garden) so that should be able to go ahead.
All in all, as long as the paperwork goes through it should be fine Smile

Potato sorry to hear that. I'm surveyor be thought of everything with your mortgage advisor but are you not able to get the mortgage under one name (the one who hasn't been tarnished by the shitty ex)? Though I imagine without the combined income it would mean a much smaller mortgage so just ignore me.

I managed to get back to sleep at 6am this morning but then had to eat at 7. I've been trying to nap for the last hour but it just isn't happening.

Mileymoocow · 11/05/2016 08:44

pink I've been going through bottles of bio oil too, but I know that realistically I'm going to end up like a road map (my mum's stretch marks are terrible)! Still, no harm on trying.

bunch urgh, pregnancy insomnia Sad hope you have yourself an easy day!

Pinklily1 · 11/05/2016 08:59

I've got stretch marks anyway from past weight loss and gain, but would rather not get anymore!

For those using Bio Oil, it's way cheaper to buy in multi packs from Amazon.

shelbTa · 11/05/2016 08:59

Morning!

Welcome ni!

Pink - yeah am putting on bio oil every night and dermamum in the morning. What are you using?

Ah potato that sucks - I had a default too from wayward teenage years on a topshop card, bastards!!! I hope t comes together for you. How are you feeling about work, or trying not to think about it?

Currently trying not to vomit at the breath of the person next to me on the train. I'm seem to have a bit of morning sickness back?

X

Planeteer · 11/05/2016 09:17

Yay, welcome Ni!

Congrats Leonie on team blue, and lots of luck for the hideous work day today! Hope the rest of the week is a little easier.

Potato I'm so sorry you had rubbish mortgage news yesterday. Credit ratings are balls, I hate them and their stress! Keeping everything crossed it goes through for you today. Think you're right though, even though it is super stressful and a total pain to have to put kitchen and renovation plans on hold, you and OH will have your perfect house which you can put your stamp on over time.

Lisa and Miley, here's to the end of the long sickness road! *clinks glass of squash/mocktail of choice.

So this morning Ovia is back to her old witchy tricks. I got: 'Are people stopping you in the street to say "My, what beautiful skin?"' At which I laughed like a drain. If anyone were to stop me in the street it's highly likely they'd be saying 'Dear God, woman, you look like a piece of old cod!' Bah!

Seriously though, does ANYONE have this fabled glow we hear so much about??
