Summers here and bumps are busy growing. Scans photos are coming thick and fast and team pink and blue are rampining up their numbers.

We have new grads furiously POAS, second trimesters eager for their bumps and veterans about to embark on trimester 3 and contemplating baby size with mild terror apprehension.

The weathers to hot for comfort and our pregnancy aches, pains and symptoms are getting on our tits literally in some cases !!

All are welcome to TTC#1 grads thread #6

Mat leave*

LisaTheGreek · 10/05/2016 16:39

Great to have you back, Miley! The hot tub sounds immense.

Also really glad you're mainly vom-free these days. I hope it stays that way!

Soda - your holiday sounds wonderful. "I've done nothing but lie around and eat on holiday" - that sounds awesome. I'm very jealous.

Danni - don't feel embarrassed, just see it as being pampered! Were they a bit weird about getting it for you, or was it not a big deal? I'm very aware at work that my feet are very much down for most of the day as I sit at my desk, and at some point I'm going to have to think about putting them up every now and then.

PotatosMum · 10/05/2016 16:43

Very, very stressed about the mortgage meeting. For a good portion of today there's been a real danger that we might not be able to get a mortgage through no fault of our own.
We think it will be ok now but we're going to have to pay through the nose so the next couple of years will be very tight. The kitchen and the music "shed" are going to have to go on indefinite hold and we're going to have to make do without buying any new furniture.
It's taken the sparkle off things a little bit and it's worry that we didn't need.

I'm hoping it goes through now, I hate all the waiting around Sad

What happened Potato? Just curious as to what can cause so much expense when it's no fault of your own. That hardly seems fair! Angry on your behalf. I hate all mortgage companies. Mine won't even change my payment date without charging us double for that month!!

Dr at the hospital gave my bump pain area a right good prod today. I'm now with a hot water bottle as it hasn't been this sore in days. Evil hands I tell you! Had another nap as well Blush I think it's the relief from being discharged has made me relax and go all sleepy.

Mileymoocow · 10/05/2016 16:58

potato that absolutely sucks Sad hopefully it'll work out ok. When we applied for our mortgage I had a late payment on a store card I had (ex used it and didn't bother to tell me until it was already late) and thought that would bollocks up our application. It didn't though and it was all ok so here's hoping things will be fine!

danni you're definitely not alone! It wasn't pleasant, they were enormous trotters.

Thanks lisa! Yeah I'm getting there Smile I still have a very bad day every now and then but it's mainly a few times before lunch then I'm ok after. I still have constant nausea though but I can cope with that! Hope you're able to enjoy pregnancy a bit more, too

Mileymoocow · 10/05/2016 17:00

bunch glad everything was ok and you've been discharged! Grin bit crap that you've been prodded into pain. Doctors love a good prod, they seem to have an unnecessary strength about them

Danni89 · 10/05/2016 17:01

Sorry to hear that potato hoping its goes through ok, and you can always start getting little bits and bobs for your house once you get settled and finances get back on track after mat leave (if you decide to go back, I know you had the business idea?)

Not embarrassed lisa, just a felt a little demanding, but yeah it's helped and I'm sure the other preggo women have requested things.. There's 3 of us at the mo in my company

leoniethelioness · 10/05/2016 17:04

How lovely leonie!!

Ah potato that sucks - we had to pay through the nose for a mortgage too. Is it definitely going through though?

Good news re tests bunch.

Not even though about hospital bag yet potato. In fact, did a list today on what I still have to get and there is a lot!!

X

Tazlet · 10/05/2016 17:29

Firstly, many apologies to anyone who's had heartburn. Seriously - proper, significant apologies.

I've never had it before, and it seems I didn't know what it was. Stupidly, naively, I thought it was heart pain (like chest pain). Stupid, stupid me. I was describing the feeling of having acid in my throat to my DH the other day and tried to google it and see what I could do. He said it was heartburn. (Have to admit, I didn't actually believe him - see stupidity above).

Anyway, having had it for the last few days I can say it is not nice. Has anyone else had it, and what have you done for it? Can you ease it any way?

BunchOfBobs · 10/05/2016 18:26

Lisa gaviscon was my best friend until yesterday. Then the bastard stopped working. The evil hands dr today has prescribed me a tablet to make my stomach produce less acid. It makes me hate her hands a little bit less. Though today touch wood I've had no heartburn. I've had to resort to sleeping propped up as it keeps me awake. I've had acid make it all the way to my mouth stood up without even burping or anything. It's been awful. I find not letting myself get hungry helps. And milkshake. But mostly keeping snacking. Once I get hungry the heartburn kicks in. Apparently watermelon is good for it.

LisaTheGreek · 10/05/2016 18:51

God, Bunch, that sounds horrible. You poor thing x

Thanks for the Gaviscon recommendation, I'll grab some on my way home from work now!

shelbTa · 10/05/2016 18:52

Lisa - you can also get a gaviscon style product free on prescription from your GP x

Sodasoda · 10/05/2016 18:54

Great news about the test results bunch

Congrats on the boy leonie!

I haven't suffered from heartburn...yet... Just very bad wind Blush

DH has really complained about me snoring the last few nights! I don't usually snore! I feel really bad as I've been keeping him awake apparently. I haven't got a cold or anything, is this another attractive prego symptom? If so anything I can do?!

Laurenrl · 10/05/2016 18:58

Yay for team blue leonie! Really exciting 😍

Seems swimming in a warm pool made my little girl swim around inside and we got our first definite movements/kicks (inside and out) in the pool at centre parcs at 19+5!

Very jealous everyone's having their 20 week scans before me, I'll be 21+5 when I have mine in 2 weeks :(

Canters15 · 10/05/2016 19:02

I found you all!

Canters, 12+1, awaiting first scan on Friday!

I feel really fat, my tummy is so flabby and bloated and have been in mat jeans for last two weeks. Also think I will end up huge.

Sorry for the mortgage stress, potato.

LisaTheGreek · 10/05/2016 19:08

Also, is it just me, or do others think of some of the people on here as pregnancy 'elders', like older sisters?

It's so lovely to have Bunch, Potato, Pink, Shelb, etc. around as guidance for how to get through this.

I've had people in real life be pregnant before, obviously, but if I have a question my first thought is always that one of my 'big sisters' on MN will know Grin

(Also, please don't be offended by the 'older' sister thing - I'm 29, so you might be younger than me!)

Laurenrl · 10/05/2016 19:12

soda the snoring is a pregnancy thing is had it the last 2 weeks and never have before in my life!
