Summers here and bumps are busy growing. Scans photos are coming thick and fast and team pink and blue are rampining up their numbers.

We have new grads furiously POAS, second trimesters eager for their bumps and veterans about to embark on trimester 3 and contemplating baby size with mild terror apprehension.

The weathers to hot for comfort and our pregnancy aches, pains and symptoms are getting on our tits literally in some cases !!

All are welcome to TTC#1 grads thread #6

Forgot to say, lovely scan picture Starky! You must be so relieved. Flowers Have they changed your due date?

ElleSarcasmo · 21/05/2016 08:23

How are you doing today May?

Feefeefs · 21/05/2016 08:23

Not sure how to feel about visitors yet. My family live abroad, my parents would probably only stay in a hotel, my siblings... Not so sure but I think I could put them off for a few weeks.

DHs family live really close by and his mum genuinely might me more excited than me! She said she worried so much when DH & SIL were young that she never really got to enjoy it properly so is looking forward to being more relaxed. I would feel a bit embarrassed if my boobs are constantly visible at the start but very keen to breast feed. My own mum died of breast cancer and breast feeding is really protective against that! Also to help with the weight loss (and all the good stuff for baby obviously Blush). DH has already offered to help with looking after baby when I go back to work too so the last thing I want to do is shut her out or offend her.

Feefeefs · 21/05/2016 08:24

Ha ha not DH has offered to help MIL has offered!

PotatosMum · 21/05/2016 08:59

Morning ladies, how are you all today?

I'm 26 weeks today and Potato is the size of a bowling pin! I feel like a whale and now have a proper waddle Hmm

Bunch I'm not sure when we'll have the kids over after the baby's born. I'm putting my foot down and saying no visitors in the hospital and DSS who hopefully will be living with us has said he wants to stay with his mum for a couple of weeks when the baby comes home so with any luck I shouldn't have the kids overnight as soon as I get home. It probably depends what state I'm in at the time.

New I don't have the option of home birth but even if I did I would give it a miss. I'd rather be near medical help if something goes wrong and also I don't want the mess in my own home Blush

Elle I think the one saving grace with DSD is that she has no attention span. She'll be all over DD for a few days then get bored be completely oblivious to her unless giving her attention will gain DSD attention.
She also hasn't twigged that it will be months before DD will do anything more interesting than eat and poop. She always talks about DD playing with this or that. I think she's expecting a fully formed 3 year old lol.

Off to see the new house today. Still wary of getting too excited until we have the mortgage offer but feeling a little more positive about that. We just need to keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best.
Can't believe that we could be moving in 6 to 8 weeks. I bought my little flat 9 years ago and it the only place I've ever lived which has been mine. I might cry when I leave Blush

Morning everyone!

As far as visitors go it's a difficult one ( DH and I have had a few heated discussions over it and now I don't mention the subject), we live in Scotland and all our family are in Liverpool I'm really close with my mum so she will be living in our house from around the due date time til as long as I want/need her there. DH is fine with that, however he only has his dad and brother who he is close to and wants them there soon after the birth. I've said leave it a week until his dad can come up (not the easiest man to have around). But I still want the rest of my family to come up soon after baby is born...I know it sounds unfair but I kind of feel that it's OUR choice who visits and when, we have to go through pregnancy and labour and if we don't want visitors we should be able to say that.
I want to breastfeed too but I have bought a bottle steriliser so I can pump- tbh I don't really have a clue about sterilisers/pumps, our steriliser was on sale and I thought why not.

Had a really weird/amazing experience this morning..I felt Beanie roll over, which I have felt a lot, but this morning she must have got in a weird position becuase my belly went rock hard and in a weird shape. I literally screamed out loud, I was scared what was going on! It was the weirdest feeling, then me and DH have been watching my belly for the last 10mins and SEEN her kick and move about! It's the weirdest most amazing thing I've ever seen/felt..I actually feel sorry for DH that he doesn't feel it as I feel even more bonded now. I think she may have had a growth spurt over night as I'm only 19+3 and thought I wouldn't be able to see movement until later on.

Wow that was a long post, sorry for nattering!
Hope you all have a lovely day. I'm off to the beach soon Grin (sorry...) xx

Pinklily1 · 21/05/2016 09:37

Shelb, we are going to get an electric breast pump but not until after baby arrives. They are expensive and I don't want to buy one now to find baby then doesn't take to breastfeeding and we'll be outside the time limits to return it. We've narrowed it down to either Medela or Tommee Tippee for when we do buy one.

Miley, I saw your pram on IG - love it! My heart lies with the Chameleon really but we are going for a grey icandy.

Indi, so lovely you can see the movements now. I think it really makes a difference!

Sodasoda · 21/05/2016 10:02

Morning everyone,

I'm same as pink - really hoping to breastfeed but not going to invest in a pump until baby is here and I know whether or not I can - I've had a few friends who've had babies recently and haven't been able to breastfeed for a number of reasons despite all wanting to so not taking it for granted.

I've been doing a bit of pram research and we like the baby zen yoyo - it's super light which is very important for me because I'll be having to heave it up stairs to our flat while DH is at work!

Planeteer · 21/05/2016 10:10

Morning all, wow it's been chatty on here!

Starky look!!! It's an ACTUAL BABY!!! So chuffed for you and DH, and hope you're feeling like a weight has lifted!

Bunch and New congrats on T3...feels very big and grown up, haha. How's time passing for you guys? Is it glacial again, or speeding up alarmingly?

Potato hope you love the new house as much today as the first time. Keeping everything crossed the mortgage comes through soon.

Pink I've lost the will to live with bra shopping. NOTHING FITS! Just about OK in underwired, but boobs still growing so will need to launch myself on M&S again at some point when I can muster the strength!

May, sorry to hear about your scary day yday. How are you feeling now? Brew

Indi that's so exciting! I'm 19 today and can't wait for Pancakes movements to get stronger. Lots of pops and flutters but nothing DH can feel yet.

I'm also planning on breastfeeding but want to make sure we've got bottles and formula in the house in case I find I can't do it. Don't want to put loads of pressure on myself, but will give it a good go! I've heard v good things about the Tommee Tippee Perfect Prep machine so am keeping my eyes peeled for one in a sale.

Visitor wise, suspect it could get a bit much as my mum and Dh's DPs all live abroad, and are planning on descending to stay in the first few weeks. Not necessarily with us, probs in a hotel, but I think I'll still feel pressure to have them visiting a lot as they've made the effort to fly over... One that needs more thought I reckon!

Nevlet · 21/05/2016 10:33

Morning all! Lots to catch up on

Visitors... I wanted to try and not even let our mums know I was in labour till little man is safely here but we live next door to MILs best friend who does a greay job of stalking and monitoring our movements and reporting to MIL and poor old MIL will need to have our dog regardless as he can't be left alone. So we are easy on visitors at hospital but only immediate family (my parents sister and MIL and DPs brother)

Pram... We have Mamas and Papas Urbo 2 in signature chestnut tweed. I love it as its quite compact and doesnt take up much room.

Breast feeding... Same as most of you. Really want to do it but have no pressure on whether that works out for a variety of reasons. Have tommee tipper bottle steriliser kit as was half price and if we do take to BF I will get a pump so DP can bottle feed too.

Happy weekend everyone!

Mileymoocow · 21/05/2016 11:14

I sometimes wish we all lived close cause I love a good Saturday morning natter putting the world to rights!

pink thank you, I do love it but I must admit I love the icandy too! My cousin has a lime green silver cross which is absolutely fab and if I knew I was having a boy and wasn't having any more I'd be tempted. I'm beaming we have an actual pram for an actual baby. I have to keep the nursery door shut because every time I go in I cry with sheer excitement and overwhelm.

indi beautiful that you can see baba move! Smile I can feel mine just about all day (it's a little wriggler) but haven't seen yet. OH hasn't had the patience to wait long enough to feel movement so that must be amazing for your DH Grin

stark You still picking your grin up off the floor? I'm so chuffed you can finally start to enjoy it Wink

new I don't fancy a home birth but sometimes it can't be helped. My midwife went through options with us and as soon as she mentioned it it sent me into nesting mode and have been incredibly anal about keeping the house gleaming incase I go into labour at home. Mental I know.

potato I hope it's all sorted for you soon! You must be getting so impatient

Officially half way today Grin

StarkyTheDirewolf · 21/05/2016 11:15

Thank you guys! It does feel real now! I feel like this is how I was supposed the feeling when I got the bfp! I'm measuring between a day or two ahead of what I thought. All was well with bloods/nuchal fold thing and I briefly saw baby's heartbeat. Dh got to watch the whole thing and was going "wow....WOW!" all the way through, I only got to see a few seconds because of where the screen was but it was nice because he was so excited and amazed! He's really proud of me for growing a baby, in his words "I put it in the oven but you're doing all the baking babe!" Grin

And now I feel like I can breathe a bit and actually enjoy this a smidgen more! Feel like myself again! And I can concentrate a bit better and actually read everyone's posts fro the past week!

Hope you're ok may Flowers

Mileymoocow · 21/05/2016 12:14

Aw stark how lovely. Big FU to anxiety eh Grin think you might start buying now?

Shitty mood has gone and I haven't been sick at all so far today. Long may this continue.

BunchOfBobs · 21/05/2016 13:03

Afternoon all from T3 Grin. Still yet to do this weeks supermarket shot. I'll get there.

I'm not planning on getting any bottles/steriliser or pumps yet but will wait and see what the first few weeks brings. They say not to try expressing until breastfeeding is established so I hopefully won't need anything. If my milk fails to come in I can easy pick stuff up from Tesco.

Elle parents are two hours away. Thinking DH can do a halfway dash drop and run once labour kicks off but no idea how to broach this with my DPs.

Planet time is flying for me at the mo. 12
Weeks until d day,wtf!?

Starky I'm so glad you can enjoy it now. When are you doing the big reveal?

Laurenrl · 21/05/2016 14:00

Glad everyones feeling better!

I haven't decided on visitors yet, I'm not sure how I'll feel yet about people being around, of how I will feel! Hopefully everyone will just respect how I feel at the time..

In a huff again today because I wanted to go in a baby shop and DP decided to be a pain about it as he thinks we have too much baby stuff already, I'm not sure he realises quite how different my life is now and that all I really have is baby stuff for 4 months until I have the baby! I can't buy clothes much (or want to now I'm bigger!) don't feel like going out for drinks as much when not drinking, I'm more tired and cant go along to any of the other activities my friends are doing either really either (their last ideas were go ape or trampolining) his life hasn't changed at all yet! Maybe I'm being a bit silly.

Laurenrl · 21/05/2016 14:03

Also just realised I didn't say congrats starkey! Really exciting and lovely scan pic!

Mileymoocow · 21/05/2016 14:46

Lauren if it was my OH I'd have left him still complaining as I was on my way in. You're totally right about how it becomes your life, we ladies can't do a great deal without first considering how it'll affect baby/how we might feel or cope.

LisaTheGreek · 21/05/2016 15:51

Hi everyone!

Just back from my 20-week scan.

All ok, except that he couldn't see the face. Got to check all the other organs and stuff, but no matter what we did, Wiggles refused to turn the right way. The guy asked me to wander around for half an hour and have something sugary, but still nothing. He then said to take another 15 mins (I even did some star jumps and running around like a loon!), but nothing worked.

So back tomorrow morning to see if we can see the profile of the face. Fingers crossed!

Interesting to see what you're all saying about visitors and expressing. I haven't given much thought to each really (hoping to breastfeed if I can). Thinking about visitors - assuming a normal birth, how long do you have to stay in hospital for afterwards?

LaraG13 · 21/05/2016 16:29

Huge congrats starky!!! So pleased for you!

Amazing to see movement indi! I can't wait for that.

At 17+3 today I got my first unsolicited pregnancy comment. A sandwich shop assistant asked if I was having a boy or girl and then when I said I didn't know said she thought a boy! Guess this means I'm properly showing!

Pleased the scan went well lisa but really hope you get to see your little one's face tomorrow.

On breastfeeding I'm not sure about it. I think I'll try but I don't think it'll work because I have issues with one of my nipples (it's retracted and caused lots of pain). I'm planning to buy bottles and steriliser and then just see what happens and not be disappointed either way.

PotatosMum · 21/05/2016 17:10

Indi glad you got to see little one moving about and having a good kick. It's such a lovely feeling.

Miley yay for being officially half way! It's so exciting seeing the weeks count down when you know you've already done more time than you have left.

Stark so lovely to hear you're feeling excited and happy at last. You have am ACTUAL baby! Smile

Lauren it's difficult for blokes to understand why we get so obsessed because as you say. Our lives change drastically the moment we get pregnant, theirs don't change until the baby is here and even then it's no where near the same level.
Best to just accept that this will sometimes make you want to hit him with something Grin

Lisa glad your 20 week scan went well apart from baby's refusal to look at the camera lol hopefully he'll behave tomorrow Smile

Regarding feeding, we decided from the start not to bother with breast feeding. Too much of a faff and no-one in either family has ever bothered and non of us have suffered.

So we saw the new house again and loved it even more than we did before! In my mind if made the rooms a lot smaller than they are so I was pleasantly surprised. The kitchen is as scruffy as I remember but we know we're going have to sort that out. The best thing is that the garden is much bigger than we realised, my little veg patch is going to be huge!!! Which is very exciting Grin
We also found out that the mortgage survey is happening in Tuesday so we may get a hard yes/no answer on Wednesday. OH has gone into nesting mode and bought to ideal homes magazine lol

Hi ladies

Miley - congrats on half way! Fingers crossed the sickness holds off too Smile

Lisa - baby was obviously being stubborn! Hope she/he faces the right way tomorrow. Are you going to be Team Vanilla? I had to do star jumps too, but they also made little difference!

Starky - glad its starting to feel more real for you now!

Bunch - 12 weeks to go?! You'll soon be in single figures.

I can't remember who mentioned the Tommee Tippee Perfect Prep machine earlier on today, but its on offer in Mothercare at the minute, and also in Boots, although is cheaper in Mothercare.

Pinklily1 · 21/05/2016 19:10

Potato - i chuckled at your OH buying Ideal Homes magazine!! Glad you liked the house as much, if not more, than before, and fingers crossed for good news next week.

LisaTheSimpson · 21/05/2016 19:25

Thanks all!

Yes, Pink, we are going to stay vanilla.** DH wanted to find out, but I don't. I said he could find out if he wanted, but he said there no was chance he'd be able to keep it from me. So I got my way! Grin

Potato, can you please update me as vanilla on the sheet? Also, my EDD is now 3 October. So slight change. Thank you!

Hope everyone is having a good Saturday night x

LisaTheSimpson · 21/05/2016 19:27

Stupid bolding.... Hmm

Also, had to slightly change my name as my log-in to MN went a bit weird.

shelbTa · 21/05/2016 20:01

What is everyone eating tonight? Need inspiration!
