Had my 36wk appt today - baby has started to engage which explains the stabby feelings down below. I've put on 12kg!

clarish84 · 13/05/2016 15:06

Had my final growth scan today and baby is and estimated 6lb 15 which Isn't bad considering he was too small 8 weeks ago the last two scans he's been where he should . My fella was 10lb when he was born so everyone keeps telling me he's gonna be big. They've booked me in for a sweep in 3 weeks time which I've never had before so hoping I have him befor that as it don't sound nice . She didn't seem keen il on me going over and actually seemed to push a section on me more today then before but think I'm still going to try vbac x

Torfhinn · 13/05/2016 15:18

Been in for monitoring today after 36 week appointment due to reduced movements... all's good with baby but amniotic fluids levels on the low side of normal so going for scan on Monday. More to worry about!

laughingGnomette · 13/05/2016 15:30

Aww I hope all is ok Torfhinn, thinking of you x

MollieRos · 13/05/2016 15:33

Hope everything is ok at the scan on Monday Torfhinn.

Glad the growth scan was good news clarish and hopefully you can avoid the sweep!

dollydaydream84 · 13/05/2016 16:19

The sweeps I had weren't too bad clarish they only last for less than 10 seconds so it is only a small timescale of discomfort. Sounds like a very good weight! How many weeks left?

Hope all goes well Torfhinn :) As far as I know as long as they know the fluid levels are low it can be OK, they just need to know that for when they deliver (or something like that).

nehagarg · 13/05/2016 17:53

Hope all went well Torfhinn

Ema that midwife sounds mean. What an unnecessary thing to dwell on.

No good news from me I am afraid. I was literally in too much pain yesterday to post. DH has had a bit of a reality check. He didnt think it could be this intense. Lol. Had really strong contractions for about 8 hours on second pessary (had to ask for diamorphine) but it fell out around 2 AM and contractions died away after that. Cervix still long and firmly closed.

Back home for the weekend now and back in on monday for final attempt with Prostin this time and caesarian if that doesnt work. DH is having concerns about forcing my body into something it clearly doesnt want to do. Will have a chat with him tonight and see if we can figure something out.

Oh and btw, contractions dont bother me that much but internal exams are the devil.

Oh no neha that's such a pity!!!! And grim for you!!!
Fingers crossed that the weekend is a good rest at the very least ahead of next week!

I am super rubbish at keeping up with everyone... Good luck torf!

dollydaydream84 · 13/05/2016 17:57

I think gas and air is mainly for the internals nehagarg Grin all down to technique of the person I believe. Sorry it isn't better news for you. I feel so sorry for you having to contract and then they just stop :( Best of luck for Monday Flowers

Eastend2015 · 13/05/2016 18:33

Nehagarg I'm sorry the second attempt didn't go any better. Wishing you lots of support for whatever happens next!

Emma that's awful and utter tosh, the NHS actually recommends you gain 10-12.5 kg which isn't far off 2 stone!

Eastend2015 · 13/05/2016 18:36

P.s getting lots of pmt type feelings today plus rather achy but it sounds pretty standard Hmm, I'd rather bubs cooked a little longer- not 35 weeks yet!

I hope all is well Torf!

strawberrypenguin · 13/05/2016 19:01

Hope the scan goes ok on Monday torf

Sorry it didn't work out nehagarg doesn't sound like your body is ready for it yet. Hope you get a good rest up over the weekend.

ILovePies · 13/05/2016 19:05

torf hope your scan goes well on Monday Flowers
Oh no nehagarg hope you manage to rest a bit over the weekend you poor thinguy, you must be feeling exhausted!
dolly glad to hear your midwife didn't try to put you off your ELCS decision, it's great when they agree & don't put up a fight!
clarish we can send VBAC vibes to each other!

Eastend2015 · 13/05/2016 19:15

PPS Emma I've just checked the scales and have put on 14 kilos so 2.2 stone and am 34+5, still could deck a midwife (or anyone else for that matter) telling me I'd put on too much!!

insideout · 13/05/2016 19:55

emma your midwife was unnecessarily mean.

So after having another bp check at 9 am this morning, I had to go to triage for monitoring, spent the day there, as my blood pressure stayed high and I had protein in my wee. Got sent home only for the consultant to call for me to come in overnight for observations as my blood results are not looking good, (suspected pre eclampsia) I feel totally fine though so hopefully I can go home in the morning.

My 'wonderful' DH thought today would be a great day to teach our ds (22months) to howl like a wolf so actually I'm looking forward to a reasonably quiet night!!Grin

MollieRos · 13/05/2016 20:18

Oh no nehagarg really sorry it's not moving along for you. Sounds like you've had a really tough few days. At least you can have a good rest over the weekend.

inside I hope you end up being able to go home tomorrow. At least they're on top of things with monitoring. And a good night to avoid baby wolf howls all night Grin

wigelspigels · 13/05/2016 20:37

wigelspigels · 13/05/2016 20:39

clarish84 · 13/05/2016 21:00

Good luck for Monday torfhinn

dollydaydream thanx for that feel bit better hearing that I been asking everyone and no one I know has had one I'm 36 + weeks and there gonna do that in 3 week .

Aww Nehagarg such a shame hope things look up for you soon x

Ilovepies that sounds like a good plan

Torfhinn · 13/05/2016 21:07

Sorry to hear it's been unsuccessful neha, it does seen that your body just isn't ready. Remember, you dont have to consent to a third attempt if you dont want to. Hope you have a restful weekend.

Hope things stabilise for you inside and you can get some rest in hospital. Im glad they are looking after you and baby well.

GrubbyWindows · 13/05/2016 21:30

Oh no inside! Glad to hear you are being looked after though.
My top tip for being admitted with high blood pressure is earplugs and eye mask. Much better chance of decent sleep...
I hope you are getting some rest. The one good thing about preeclampsia is that you feel ok so can actually rest!

dollydaydream84 · 13/05/2016 21:35

Hope you are home soon inside

If you've ever had an internal its that sort of thing but literally over on about 10 seconds they literally sweep the cervix with two fingers. Not comfortable but quick at least! I had four last time, didn't make any difference :(

Thanks All its amazing how much better a bit of reassurance from the midwife has made me feel!

Also period type pains here, must be that time!

ILovePies · 14/05/2016 07:14

Hope you're doing okay inside and you're allowed home soon.. good that they're keeping an eye though Flowers

laughingGnomette · 14/05/2016 07:18

Insideout - I hope all is ok xx

LouLou030783 · 14/05/2016 08:21

Hope ur ok insideout xx

I'm feeling very sorry for myself at the moment due to piles Confused anyone else?
