I did wonder that too Grubby. They took bloods for OC yesterday. Will check with midwife to see what they came back as and ask the doctor in the morning. It really feels like my body is just not ready and i dont want to force it into having this baby for no good reason. They will most probably say, lets do c-section but I am going to discuss delaying it anyway.

I agree with grubby! In the "real world" your baby could potentially hang on for another five weeks before he decides he's ready himself!

What's your options going forward? Do you still have an option for spontaneous labour if your liver readings stabilise?

iamdivergent · 11/05/2016 20:26

The redid on the Saturday evening I think it was and she had dneice on the Sunday afternoon. In the end up she had two of the tablet inserted, then ended up on the drip. She had an epidural and assisted birth because she was just so exhausted.

iamdivergent · 11/05/2016 20:27

I'm fairly sure tha once induction has been started you're not leaving hospital without a baby unfortunately. But definately enquire.

GrubbyWindows · 11/05/2016 20:33

If it's just the pessary some will let you out. Anything bigger and you are in in in though.
Ugh, good luck in any case neha!!!

wigelspigels · 11/05/2016 20:48

Oh no nehagarg - hopefully soon Smile

Eeek 36wks today, last day at work tomorrow, so excited.
The heat makes my puffy feet /ankles mega puffy.
Hope everyone is doing good as can be with the heat.

dollydaydream84 · 11/05/2016 20:49

Good luck nehagarg I have heard lots of people say their body didn't feel ready for induction. Hope your little one is in your arms soon if they keep you in big hugs xxxx

Thanks clarish I feel so different to last time! Made me feel so much better that you said that about baby Number 5! DH doesn't know what I'm worrying about as I was so chilled about the EMCS last time! I was so tired, drugged and exhausted I just didn't think about it! Unlike this time!! Thanks so much you've made me feel much more normal xx

dollydaydream84 · 11/05/2016 20:54

Nehagarg my bishops score was 1 at 41+6 my waters broke randomly the day after and I went into natural labour so you never know! X

MollieRos · 11/05/2016 21:45

How frustrating nehagarg. At least you can try and get some proper rest tonight and hopefully things will start moving again tomorrow.

emma definitely ring your midwife to have a chat through rather than worrying about it- that's why they're there! When I had my most recent scan the other day the consultant was hopeless at explaining things or giving me any straight answers so once he'd gone the midwife sat with me and went through all the information and answered all my questions- she was great.

I'm still waiting for the nesting to kick in- I've mostly been lazy since I've been on mat leave (finished on friday)- it's been lovely but there is a lot of cooking, cleaning and organising I probably should be doing!!

mrsmugoo · 11/05/2016 22:19

My last day at work tomorrow!!

cautiousoptimist1 · 11/05/2016 22:53

Thinking of you nehagarg.

2 weeks on Friday until I finish but I'm starting to feel tired now so could happily go tomorrow! I know I'll stay until the end though. As daft as it sounds, I'm not sure what I'm meant to do with my maternity leave before baby appears.

sambababy · 12/05/2016 01:44

Sorry to hear things haven't got going yet nehagarg. Try to stay positive - you will have your lovely little boy soon! Early inductions are often slow to get started unfortunately.

Dolly I feel exactly the same worrying about the delivery. I actually think it's worse this time, having been through it before, and I had a smooth birth experience so you'd think I could reassure myself but no. I've just started reading the Juju sundins book in the hope I might feel a bit more mentally prepared.

By the way if anyone is considering hiring a tens machine I'd recommend it. I can't say it provided relief from the pain for me but more a distraction.

Im feeling like I've been beaten up from the inside today and am now wondering how to tell when baby movements indicate the baby is in distress. He/she seems to have record numbers of hiccups too.

Eastend2015 · 12/05/2016 07:50

Thinking of you nehagarg!

Me too Samba- maybe the change in weather has something to do with it. I had a lovely bath which seems to calm the baby down but it made my ankles swell up massively! Oh well, at least I had a better night's sleep last night Hmm

laughingGnomette · 12/05/2016 10:46

samba - same here. I've had a very wriggly baby for the past two days. Less worrying than lack of movement but still makes you wonder.

JulieBolton79 · 12/05/2016 11:35

Keep popping in to see how everyone is doing hoping to see Nehagarg has progress but looks like no luck at the moment fx for something soon.
Quick question for all really, has your baby engaged yet? I had my 36wk apt Tuesday and my notes still say free?
I thought with this being my first baby would be at least on the way to being engaged but apparently not Smile
I get a lot of activity around the head as baby seems to likes to play with there face and has been head down for last 3 apts.
I read sometimes they don't engage until labour Shock

nehagarg · 12/05/2016 11:42

No joy so far. Doc this morning isnt convinced we need to continue with induction. Definitely dont need c section since my OC is so borderline. But they will try another propess today to see if anything happens. If not, tomorrow they might let me go home and wait for it all to start naturally. Yaaay!

That said, labour ward is choc-a-bloc right now and have requested no new inductions be done. So I am now waiting for the propess until Labour ward is a bit emptier. Who knows when that might be.

I don't think mine has engaged but I i think she is burrowing down a bit as I've been getting more pelvic pain and stabby, shooting pains in my cervix. 2nd baby for me but I'm not sure as I never laboured last time if that makes a difference to whether she will will engage later on or not. I'm not sure if it's a stretched uterus or a stretched birth canal that makes the difference?

mrsmugoo · 12/05/2016 11:56

That sounds like really good news Neha!

JulieBolton79 · 12/05/2016 12:06

Maybe this baby wants to come on his own terms Nehagarg and if it's busy it may be better for you if wait?
Mrsmugoo I am clueless tbh! I think it's nothing of major concern otherwise MW would of said I just thought I'd see the free change to 5/5 or something progressive. Still plenty of time yet anyway.

mrsmugoo · 12/05/2016 12:10

I don;t know much about heads engaging as last time I had a bottom down there! But I would think at 36 weeks there's still a tonne of time.

MollieRos · 12/05/2016 12:14

Sorry things aren't progressing nehagarg but really good news if they'll potentially let you go home!

Julie At my 36 week appt last week the midwife said the head was still free, but just about starting to engage- I think she put "brim" in my notes. Having said that he's been head down the whole pregnancy and whenever they examine me I always get comments that he's extremely low down, so not sure if that means he's actually moving lower or if that's just where he's been the whole time.

Samba I had a couple of days like that last week, where he felt like he was doing crazy flips or something in there- loads of movement. He's settled down a bit now. Maybe just having a bit less room and the warm weather, who knows?

I'm feeling really ropey today, I've had a dodgy stomach for a few days and I've suddenly developed reflux/heartburn- not pleasant! I've just had a nap which has helped a bit.

JulieBolton79 · 12/05/2016 12:19

I agree mrsmugoo maybe I'll see what my 38wk apt brings.
Mollie I feel like baby is low too but bump is still high as I've not dropped I think my crap abdominal muscles might be responsible lol Grin I get kicks high up and face faffing right in my pelvis

iamdivergent · 12/05/2016 13:19

My notes from Tuesday say free but deep Confused this is my third though so it's likely he won't engage.

Sorry neha sounds like a pain! Fx they either manage to get it going this time or let you home x

MadrigalElectromotive · 12/05/2016 13:39

The mw told me mine was engaged this morning, but didn't say how much. I guess it is pretty academic given that she'll be coming out the sunroof next week! Grin

Nehagarg how frustrating. It seems a bit bonkers that they don't seem really sure if they want to induce you or not. Hope you get some progress one way or another soon. It will probably feel a bit weird if you end up going home with no baby yet - not what you'd psyched yourself up for!

JulieBolton79 · 12/05/2016 13:50

Madrigal deep?! What on earth does that mean? It's so confusing lol
Iamdivergent lol @sunroof that made me chuckle, I found out if baby was engaged from my notes which she fills in each apt it says position of baby and free 5/5 4/5 etc for engaged. There's a guide to what they mean on page or two before.
I now know Ceph means head down! Didn't know that before lol
