I know there's already a thread up for early Jan babies but couldn't see one for the rest of Jan (probably as I'm jumping the gun a bit here!).

This is my first proper pregnancy and I'm a planner by nature so I need some kind of place to talk about this so I don't drive my DP mad!

Bit about me:
I'm 28
This is baby number one
EDD 6th Jan.

Anyone else want to join me?

Lura Sucks doesn't it? I'm not sure if you have any LO's yet but it will happen. It is early days, I didn't think I was preg due to no symptoms at all so took the test assuming my last D&C had just messed up my cycles. Now I'm kind of annoyed at myself for taking the test, sometimes it's easier to live in ignorant bliss for a while. I hate this very early bit where you're just waiting to see if it's a chemical or not, although I also hate the run up to the scan as you start getting your hopes up and it's crushing when it goes wrong.

fortheloveofvintage · 11/05/2016 22:09

Flossy I had two early spontaneous m/c before DS and have had two since, the last being a MMC found at my reassurance scan at 10 weeks, had to have D&C.

Because the m/c are not 'concurrent' and I have a son in between they won't do any further testing as its put down to bad luck. I guess if this time doesn't stick they may do some further tests.

Funnily enough my husband had 3 m/c with his first wife and no children. And now 4 with me. So he's had 7 al together poor sod! But everything I read suggests it can't be related to the man.. He has had the various tests previously and all checked out ok.

I really hope this one is sticky for you. Previous loss can taint any future pregnancies which is a shame xx

fortheloveofvintage · 11/05/2016 22:10

I'll stop being morbid and come back and post if I get to the first scan! Good luck ladies xx

Whatabanana · 11/05/2016 22:15

Hi, I'm due Jan 13, 5 weeks tomorrow. However I am 43 (big shock) and I know the miscarriage rates are pretty high at this age so I am feeling quite anxious about it. Will be my third (with a huge gap).

ChickadeeChick · 11/05/2016 22:17

Hello everyone and congratulations to everyone on the BFPs! I am sorry to hear of the losses, hope this is a lucky thread.

Period was due yesterday/today, and didn't arrive, hooray. I bought 2x CBD and I'm going to do one tomorrow and one next week and hope the weeks go up. I'm expecting it to say 2-3 tomorrow.

Not feeling loads of symptoms now. I can forget I'm pregnant at stages throughout the day and then suddenly remember. I am getting up earlier than usual for a wee, have some crampy back achey, heavy sort of feelings if I sit still for too long. Slightly tender breasts, and a bit of nausea in the mornings if I get up too quick. Oh and constipation. And the farts Blush. My digestion has definitely slowed down!

ChickadeeChick · 11/05/2016 22:18

Um, that was quite a few symptoms actually Confused

Forthelove feel free to post! Don't leave us CakeFlowers

MagpieCursedTea · 11/05/2016 22:19

Vintage sounds like you and your DH have been through a lot, really sorry for your losses. Don't apologise for being morbid, I think it's natural to worry in early pregnancy (and pregnancy in general) especially with your history. All the best to you!

1sttime congratulations! I have a 2 year old (who will be 3 when the baby is born). I'm a bit worried about how he'll react but it seems so far off and I'm so terrified something will go wrong before then that I'm not giving it much thought yet. It took us 17 months (didn't need Clomid this time but had it for DS) so I know how hard that is!

MagpieCursedTea · 11/05/2016 22:21

Whatabanana congratulations!

Chickadee does that mean you're about 4 weeks? I got a 1-2 on a CBD at that point in both my pregnancies. So don't worry if you don't get a 2-3. Good luck!

mayago · 11/05/2016 23:00

magpie that's the explanation they gave me in A&E over the weekend too. Sometimes it's hard to sit down - it started while I was walking to the shop earlier so I just slowed down and called a friend to take my mind off it. I'm surprised there's no nausea with it, but maybe that will come in time... Hopefully it goes away soon!

ChickadeeChick · 12/05/2016 05:11

Magpie yes I'm about 4 weeks. I got a 2-3 just now. Phew. Smile

blondel · 12/05/2016 06:36

Sorry to everyone that's had a mc. I'm really nervous as my mum had a few so don't like the thought of telling anyone other than close family.

This might be TMI but strong urine?! I feel burnt at the tops of my legs. Found some old sudocrem and used it to get some sleep/relief. I used to be bad for this as a kid but ouch! More water tomorrow!

Ni4444 · 12/05/2016 18:52

Welcome newbies! Sorry to hear about the m/c's...I hope we all sail through this...this waiting period is so weird... I want to get excited, but know I shouldn't!

Felt woozy for the first time this morning while in a meeting...felt super thirsty, but needed to pee constantly, forced myself to slowly eat a piece of something...not looking forward to the full whack of morning sickness!

TinyHumanJan17 · 12/05/2016 18:59

Tiny human cant make his mind up. One minute im so hungry i could eat a horse the next even drinking water makes me nauseous.

Today has been urghy, im currently looking after my nephew for 2 weeks but i got asked to go into work this morning within about 10 minutes of waking up. So spent 45 minutes ringing family to find someone to take him to playgroup but all the stress gave me a headache and i havent been able to budge it!

On the plus side according to lmp i am 5 weeks today! Iv told dh i want to take a picture of bump every week so that i can look back andcsee myself progressing so today was picture 1! :-)

ChickadeeChick · 12/05/2016 20:52

Ni, I'm feeling queasy in the mornings too. I can't face eating anything other than salted cashews until late morning. I've ran out of cashews though so I don't know what I'll do tomorrow!! Super thirsty too.

sapphireflame · 12/05/2016 20:53

Hi.

New to all this, but so excited to see other ladies due in January! I'm not sure what a lot of these abbreviations mean...is there a page that explains them all?? Confused

I'm 26 and had positive test just before the May bank holiday, calculators say I'm due 1st Jan 2017 so I'm 6 wk 4 days now. This is my first pregnancy and I'm so paranoid! I'm so scared of something going wrong that I have only done the 2 tests and none since. My first appointment is next Monday.

We haven't told our parents yet, by husband wants to wait until we have a scan to show them, but that won't be until 12 weeks I think? I've had to tell some people at work because of the nature of what I do, and it broke my heart that it wasn't our parents I was telling first. Someone mentioned an early 8 week scan - is this something you have get done privately, and if so where could I find a local place that offers this?

I've got the worst sore boobs I've ever had, I have had the odd spells of nausea, and my sense of smell has improved. I'm just a bit worried though as I'm only 6 weeks and feel like my clothes are getting tight already, is this ok??

Sorry for the long post, just feel relieved to have some people to talk to!

MagpieCursedTea · 12/05/2016 20:56

I'm away on holiday and couldn't resist testing again. I got my 3+ in Spanish!

MagpieCursedTea · 12/05/2016 21:00

Congratulations sapphire! You wouldn't normally get a scan before 12 weeks unless there was a medical reason. Standard scans are 12 and 20 weeks on the NHS. If you google local private scans, you should be able to get one done for about £100 depending on where you live.
Bloating in early pregnancy is common as the hormones can slow your digestion down so that could explain why your clothes are feeling a bit tight.

RosieposiePuddingandPi · 12/05/2016 21:01

Congrats to all the newcomers!!
sapphire which abbreviations are you not sure of? You'll get used to them soon Smile First scans on the nhs tend to be at 12 weeks but lots of people book private scans for 8 weeks. If you google early scans you should be able to find somewhere local.
And don't worry about the tight clothes, I'll be 6 weeks tomorrow and I've had to leave the top button undone on my work trousers but it's all bloating. Deff not a bump just yet!!

Congratulations magpie!!!! That's so exciting Grin

blondel · 12/05/2016 21:05

That's a shame sapphireflame. I was looking into scans and just typed private pregnancy scan into Google. My OH thinks I'm mad but I would get one towards the end. I'm feeling bloated and uncomfortable. I do t remember this from last time but we've had freakishly hot weather in the last week as well!

Belfastgirl90 · 12/05/2016 22:49

Congratulations sapphire

I have had serious bloating as well to the point my 6yo DS asked why my belly wa so big, I said I ate to many cream buns lol. We don't want to tell him until we have our scan and I know he will be devastated having another baby in the house, he thinks his little sis is so annoying and crys to much lol, poor wee man.

How's everyone feeling tonight? I'm super tired but can't sleep properly.

Texasbamma · 13/05/2016 01:03

Hello ladies,
Congratulations on your BFPs ! Can I join too? I just got a 2-3wk using CBD ! Smile Using calculator puts my EDD as 17 Jan. I only tested 'for fun' as AF is 2 days late - big surprise as was only planning to start TTC this month so didn't expect this to happen already! I guess you can't really plan these things?! But am feeling very excited, happy and nervous all at the same time.

This will be our 2nd child if it all goes ok, I have a 19mth old DS (who was an unexpected surprise too..) I am 38 at end of this year.

For my first pregnancy I didn't show until 6M pregnant - whereas this time I already have a little belly and feeling incredibly bloated!

This is going to be our last baby (can't afford more than 2) so I'm aiming to 'savour' every moment of being pregnant Wink

Hope you are all doing well!

Ni4444 · 13/05/2016 06:56

Oh I forgot to mention the vivid dreams have definitely started...OH had to wake me up last night cos I was lashing around and freaking out!!! Can't for the life of me remember what that was about!

Debating early scan... Must see how much they are charging near me.

Hi Texas and Sapphire Congrats and welcome!

MagpieCursedTea · 13/05/2016 07:35

Congratulations Texas! Are you noticing many differences between this pregnancy and your first? I'm also a lot more bloated this time around (it's my second too) plus a few other thing like more sickness and back pain. Although it's still pretty early on for you so it's probably still sinking in!

Porcupinetree · 13/05/2016 09:22

Hello everyone, congrats on the BFP and I'm sorry to hear about the losses.

I found out yesterday after feeling really nauseous, hot, sick and piddling like mad all week. I only took a test to prove to my husband that I wasn't pregnant.

I have a wonderful 2 nearly 3 year old daughter who we tried for a couple of years for...I am in total shock as we weren't actively trying for this one at all, in fact I'm not 100% how it happened at all!

I'm also rather concerned because:

  1. I had very few symptoms with my daughter but already feel super pregnant with this tiny speck.
  1. I'm getting pretty bad cramps low on my right side.

3.I had a horrific birth with my daughter.

What will be will be, but today I am happy to be given the opportunity to hopefully do everything again.
