I know there's already a thread up for early Jan babies but couldn't see one for the rest of Jan (probably as I'm jumping the gun a bit here!).

This is my first proper pregnancy and I'm a planner by nature so I need some kind of place to talk about this so I don't drive my DP mad!

Bit about me:
I'm 28
This is baby number one
EDD 6th Jan.

Anyone else want to join me?

Lots of new BFPs today! Congratulations everyone!

I'm also feeling quite bloated, something else I don't remember from my last pregnancy. I keep worrying about symptoms that are different from last time. Logically I know all pregnancies are different but it's just more to worry about.
Cuckoo glad your test this morning was darker, mine was too. Good luck with your appointment.
I called the doctor today to ask about continuing my medication (metformin for PCOS) he said there was no need to so I should stop it. I said I had heard that it helped prevent miscarriage in women with PCOS but he said he'd never heard that. Everything I've read has said to keep taking it so I'm feeling quite conflicted. He advised me to see one of the GPs at the surgery this week so made an appointment on Thursday and will discuss it with them then.

Cottagecosy · 03/05/2016 20:52

Hi everyone! Congrats all all the bfp's, especially to those of you who have been waiting a while for it!

I only contacted the GP today but won't be seeing anyone until the midwife. Looks like that may be a while though as they don't actually have any appointments when they are supposed to see me at 8/9 weeks.

We've got a long road ahead of us all Smile

SincerelyRosie · 03/05/2016 21:01

mayago I'm glad someone else is feeling dizzy.

I'm also super anxious as well, only really came on today. Every twitch I'm worrying. I feel like in have period pains at the moment & I'm hoping it's just some stretching (in 5 weeks). I also have a violent child in my class so am desperately trying to stay away from him as well Sad

Perkins1 · 03/05/2016 21:18

Evening all! Did a CB digi this morning which said 'pregnant 2-3' so I'll have to do another nxt wk to see if it moves to 3+.......damn you clear blue for giving us more tools to drive us insane!Grin
I'd like to book an 8 wk scan - 12 wks is just too far away.
Magpie I don't know anything about Metformin but it's definitely worth querying! I'm using Cyclogest to hopefully help in that area x

mayago · 03/05/2016 22:30

Haha Perkins. I just bought a second pack of CB digitals as I like watching my pregnancy progress, in a weird sort of way! I bought the latest pack at Amazon as they had a good voucher for subscribe and save..

Rosie dizziness comes and goes. I remember having it a few days before my BFP and finding it a bit strange! My 'period'-like pains have stopped after about a week, but I still have a lot of twinges.

I went to my GP last week, and he gave me a post-it with the number for the midwives on it. I ended up registering with them online, and they'll send me an appointment letter in the next 2-3 weeks. I was hoping to get in a bit sooner as I have loads of questions and anxieties Confused

Becky22761 · 04/05/2016 00:05

Can i join too please. Ive found out today im pregnant edd 7th jan. This will be my 5th baby. I didnt even need to do a test my breasts have been complete agony for days. Complete shock as we were not trying but not being completely careful either!! Congratulations everyone x

daisysunshine2 · 04/05/2016 07:43

Congratulations everyone!

With DS I phoned the GP when I got a positive and they did nothing but refer me to the midwives which I later learnt I could've self referred so this time will wait till 6/7 weeks then just call the midwife Smile I had forgotten about the insane early bloating.. I have a wedding to go to on Saturday and my dress no longer looks so good!

MagpieCursedTea · 04/05/2016 08:16

I'm using CBDs too to hopefully watch the weeks go up, I did it last time too and found it very reassuring. Only done one so far and got 1-2 weeks. Trying to hold off until Sunday for the next one.

Congrats becky!

RosieposiePuddingandPi · 04/05/2016 13:17

Welcome and congrats to everyone new who's joined! Lovely to see so many new BFPs Smile

Magpie That all sounds quite confusing - here's hoping you get some clarity from the docs on Thursday.

I've suddenly started feeling great over the last 2 days, most of my symptoms have faded and I've got loads of energy and just a massive appetite (and massive boobs!). I've had the same sort of anxiety that a couple of people have mentioned and yesterday had a very down day that the lack of symptoms must mean that something's wrong but did a test this morning and the line appeared almost instantly and was way darker than previous ones which has made me feel better. I'm convincing myself to just relax and be sensible as I know symptoms will come and go at this stage and I should be grateful for any time that I'm not nauseous!

I've booked a doc's appointment for the 17th which was the earliest they had Hmm as I have to see them before the midwife so I think it's going to be a while before anything happens.

Is anyone finding it difficult to concentrate on things at the moment? At work I just can't focus (the sunshine outside probably isn't helping).

I just booked an early reassurance scan for next week! My parents are visiting next Friday, and I wanted to be sure before I tell them. They live in Canada, and I have to tell them as they'll probably notice I'm not myself fairly quickly! I've bought a children's book, and will stick a scan picture in it and a note saying 'come back and read this to me in January' or something similar. We've booked a nice dinner out on their first day here, so hoping I can wait that long! It's going to be such a shock to them!

I can't concentrate on anything either RosiePosie. I may have just driven out of the car park on the wrong side of the road... I've been really dizzy today. Think I need more sleep Hmm

teaandbiscuitsforme · 04/05/2016 19:06

Hello everybody joining!

I still haven't made a doctor's appointment or done anything in fact! I had done by now with DD but everything feels early this time. Think we might go for an early scan about 8-9 weeks when the percentages for miscarriage get a bit better.

Feeling fine other than needing to eat all the time! Just hungry!! And no other symptoms which is a bit disappointing!

CharminglyGawky · 04/05/2016 19:41

Congratulations everyone!

Can I tentatively join in?

I just got a BFP but am aware that I have tested very very early, I'm not even 4 weeks yet and 2 different due date calculators have my EDD as 17th Jan.

So now I know I am not constantly wondering if I could be pregnant as my boobs have been really sore this week but now I'm wondering if I have tested too soon and that if anything were to go wrong perhaps it would have been better to not have known...

This would be our first and very much wanted child, I sooooo want to just be excited but I'm not, I just feel unsettled!

ZylaB · 04/05/2016 19:49

tea I'm starving all the time too, this isn't good for me!

Perkins1 · 04/05/2016 21:03

This evening I have demolished a carton of chips from the chippy and a full portion of salt n pepper chicken wings from the Chinese! Hmm I feel very tired and seem to be very emotional.
mayago that sounds so sweet with the scan photo in the book!
Welcome charmingly

RosieposiePuddingandPi · 04/05/2016 21:46

Sooo glad that everyone seems to have the hunger! I have never been as ravenous as I am right now. I've just shown this to my OH as he thinks I'm using it as an excuse to be a massive fatty!

OP posts:
RosieposiePuddingandPi · 04/05/2016 21:48

And mayago that sounds like the kind of things I've been doing today! Someone's going to guess soon based on how dozy I've become.

OP posts:
teaandbiscuitsforme · 05/05/2016 07:11

It's definitely a pregnancy thing Rosie! You've got to stock up before the sickness hits and all you can eat are breadsticks and Ritz crackers (although that may just be me!)

RosieposiePuddingandPi · 05/05/2016 07:16

I've tried to start a little stockpile of snacks but discovered last night that DP had got into them...words may have been exchanged Grin

OP posts:
teaandbiscuitsforme · 05/05/2016 07:21

Shocking behaviour! Shock DD tried to get my breadsticks the other day, she will very quickly learn that pregnant women don't share!

MagpieCursedTea · 05/05/2016 07:32

I've gone the opposite way, my appetite is really low and I'm having to force food down. I think it's because I feel so sick and bloated.
I woke up at 4am with lower back pain and really bad cramps. Still quite sore now, something else to worry about Sad
At least I have my GP appointment this morning!

twinkydink · 05/05/2016 09:31

Feeling absolutely exhausted today ladies. Had a really stressful weeke at work which I don't think has helped buto even walking upstairs is tiring me out. Really want to keep active during this pregnancy but my body doesn't seem to agree. Going to take the dog for a walk shortly!

I feel pretty bloated too which is great fun! Having to register at a new doctors today, how long did people wait before they called their GP to say they were pregnant?

CharminglyGawky · 05/05/2016 11:18

Twinkly I think I'm going to wait until about 5-6 weeks before phoning the doctor, at the moment I'm getting positive tests but I'm not even late yet so seems way too early!

I'm not sure if I'm eating more or not, I want less at meals but am snacking a lot more. I also seem to only really want healthy food!!! Most unlike me! I just did a shop and bought loads of those nakd bars as they are nice snacks and being mostly dates and cashew nuts must be healthy right?

Is anyone else googling everything? I wanted a cuppa so googled how much caffeine I can have, the grass is long so googled whether mowing is ok, I know mould ripened cheese is out but what about soft cheeses... Actually that one was useful, I discovered that soft cheeses are fine and that you can have camembert ect as long as it is cooked! Yay!

MagpieCursedTea · 05/05/2016 11:26

Yes to the googling! Every little thing is getting googled at the moment. I've been pregnant before but I've forgotten everything!

RosieposiePuddingandPi · 05/05/2016 12:10

Twinky I had exactly that from the day before I got my BFP and was literally falling asleep at my desk if I shut my eyes.
I'm now 4+6 and the exhaustion has gone mostly. I did go to my regular crossfit workout last night though and I barely made it to the end. There were points where I thought I was going to pass out or just die on the floor I was so tired. So I'm not sure how active I'm going to be through this!

Charmingly I wish I was craving healthy foods! I just want every carb-based thing I can get my hands on Cake

Hi and congratulations everyone!! Smile

I am due on the 13th Jan according to when I ovulated.

I'm still only 13dpo got a positive pregnancy test at 10dpo and have been testing each day and the line is getting stronger. I've had a miscarriage previously so keeping everything crossed!

It's taken 6 months this time and it will be baby number 2. Have 3 yr old DS.

It feels like a long wait to get to 12 weeks before can start telling people!

Will anyone tell close family & friends etc before they get to 12 weeks?
