I know there's already a thread up for early Jan babies but couldn't see one for the rest of Jan (probably as I'm jumping the gun a bit here!).

This is my first proper pregnancy and I'm a planner by nature so I need some kind of place to talk about this so I don't drive my DP mad!

Bit about me:
I'm 28
This is baby number one
EDD 6th Jan.

Anyone else want to join me?

I'm in the knicker checking club as well, my cycle is a bit longer than average so I am actually due some point this week.

But I'm getting a few more symptoms, had a nightmare last night for the first time in years, some freaky lady came into the bedroom and tried to throttle me! Not helped by the fact that the first thing I saw on jolting awake was the outline of the door with a shirt hung on it which looked a lot like the freaky lady!!!

Also spent all afternoon wanting chips dipped in satay sauce... Sounds normal but I'm one of those strange people that doesn't like chips and would NEVER order them from a Chinese. Well accept for tonight anyway!

I feel for you ladies having bowel issues, I am feeling bloated and like I'm constipated, I'm not though, quite regular actually but reeeaaallllyyy don't feel it!

Ni4444 · 10/05/2016 22:36

Hello pregnant ladies!! Lovely to join some January buddies! I'm making the leap from ttc thread... I guess this must be real! Haven't caught up on the thread yet, but I recognise a few faces! hi grads!

33, 4+4 with baby #1 after 7 months trying, due January 13th, BFP last Saturday.
Symptoms so far: tender boobs, thirsty, little cramping, loving my sleep, and feel like decreased appetite! Being super healthy and walking lots before nausea rears it's ugly head!

Haven't called GP yet...must research local midwife/maternity services again (there's one crap one nearby that I absolutely am not going to!!!!)

Looking forward to riding this roller-coaster together!!! 🎢

Hi everyone! I'm new here this is my 3rd pregnancy and I already have 2beautiful kiddies! My EDD is 9th Jan. Is anyone else pregnant with 3rd DC? Just wantin to know if this feels different for you? I can't wait to see my doctor, I'm hoping she will give me an early scan.

Congratulations everyone!

twinkydink · 11/05/2016 06:21

Yay ni my due date buddy is over here!! I joined this one cos I found that everyone on the grads thread is a lot further a long!

Ladies what are your thoughts in playing netball this early on? I played last night and was tired but physically felt fine. I'm getting mixed messages online, I would like it keep it up for another couple of weeks but wondered what others thought!

MagpieCursedTea · 11/05/2016 06:27

Congratulations Ni and Belfast!

Twinkydink I don't know a huge amount about netball but on the one hand, it's fine to continue with exercise if you've been doing it pre pregnancy, on the other hand, I would be careful about any sport that involves contact. Sorry that's not very helpful!

So I've managed to find something else to stress about. I charted my bbt when TTC. I also have acupuncture and my acupuncturist told me to keep taking my temps to make sure my progesterone wasn't dropping. The last two mornings my temps have been lower. I know it's probably because I'm in a hotel room with thinner sheets etc but I'm still worrying. Can someone remind me that I'm obsessing please?

Ni4444 · 11/05/2016 07:42

Hi Magpie I plan to keep an eye on my bbt. Remember, taking temp earlier will cause it to be lower....and trips to loo during the night could affect it too...lots of reasons for fluctuations-you think it could be because of those? I took vitex agnus castus to help progesterone levels and lengthen luteal phase during my last cycle and I'm now stuck worrying that if I stop taking it my progesterone levels will drop. Mixed online messages about whether to keep taking it or not....so I'm reducing to half a tablet this week, will do every second day next week then phase it out completely. Anyone else take it??

ChickadeeChick · 11/05/2016 10:53

Congratulations to Ni and Belfast! Grin

blondel · 11/05/2016 12:40

Magpie I've had IBS symptoms and constipation. The joys!

Not felt much in the last two days. Heavy boobs but that's about it. I've bought pregnancy vitamins from boots that have ginger in them. That could be helping the nausea!

Andanzadora · 11/05/2016 12:45

Hi everyone!

I'm new here and at 4+4 with #1, EDD 15 Jan, got my BFP yesterday after 5 months TTC and it doesn't quite feel real yet. I'm actually looking forward to symptoms kicking in properly, although I'm sure I'll regret thinking that in a few weeks. So far just tender boobs, cramping and some weird dreams - I dreamed the baby had no legs last night!

RosieposiePuddingandPi · 11/05/2016 14:07

Congrats Ni, belfastand andanzadora!!
andan glad someone else is having the weird dreams Grin

Thanks everyone 😊

I hadnt really felt pregnant today until I finished work and sat for a cuppa, now I'm wrecked!

Is anyone pregnant with dc3? Xx

QueenKnickerChecker · 11/05/2016 16:16

Hi

I wasn't 100% sure about joining just yet as it's such early days but here I am! I'm due either on the 20th or 24th depending on whether they go by AF or the day I'm convinced I ovulated. As my name suggests, I'm very nervous after a miscarriage earlier this year. I almost went for QueenPeeStick as I'm also still obsessively doing pregnancy tests! Stayed away from the clear blue ones so far but I think I might break soon!
This will hopefully be DC2. symptom wise, I'm exhausted, tingling/sensitive nipples with the occasional drop of milk, overwhelming thirst, sense of smell enhanced, laryngitis (which I've had at this point all 3 times) and a new one for me-I was obsessed with having cheese and ham sandwiches for breakfast for the week after ovulation, then suddenly on the day of my positive test, it made me vomit and I can't face cheese or ham since then! First time round I had a total coffee aversion but just can't give it up this time with DS to look after. I'm down to 2 but really need to get it to 1 1st thing in the morning.
Looking forward to going back through the thread now and catching up. Fingers crossed for happy, healthy pregnancies for all of us Smile

TinyHumanJan17 · 11/05/2016 16:40

Has anyone had any pains underneath so to speak? I normally get this kind of pain when im on my period its like a sharp twinge literally through my lady parts

Belfastgirl90 · 11/05/2016 17:21

Congratulations Queen I was nervous about joining as well but I think it's good when we haven't told anyone to talk about it here. It's really out me at ease reading everyone's symptoms.

Tinyhumn I don't know if this helps but I was getting a heavy feeling down below and then paind in my tummy but I was my day of yesterday so got to rest and it went away.

fortheloveofvintage · 11/05/2016 17:27

So found out a few days ago that I'm preg, this is my 6th pregnancy with only one DS. All of the others have ended in m/c before the 12 week point.

I have no symptoms and should be 5 weeks ish today.

I feel really negative about the whole thing, feel like I can't get my hopes up or I try to think about it as little as possible. I take my folic acid and leave off the wine but I feel like It's a waste of time as its only going to end in tears.

Ugh, sorry to be so miserable but... I'm just wondering if anyone is in the same boat?

MagpieCursedTea · 11/05/2016 17:42

Congratulations to the newcomers and sorry to hear a few of you have had previous losses. That must be very difficult to cope with and make it hard to be pregnant again. Wishing you all happy and healthy pregnancies.

I'm currently tucked into bed feeling sick and exhausted and trying to figure out how I'm going to get through teatime. Luckily DH is keeping DS entertained.

Lura7115 · 11/05/2016 17:51

fortheloveof I m/c my second pregnancy in febuary and I am pregnant again (about 4 weeks) I am also so nervous this time around! I don't feel pregnant at all! Yet it is still to early I suppose.
I'm also not letting myself get to excited about this one. I think we'll both be happy once we see our little ones on a scan Smile

flossy101 · 11/05/2016 19:36

Fortheloveof Sorry to hear that, it must be really tough. I had a missed miscarriage before I had my DS and then a miscarriage at 6 weeks following that and I know how hard it is not wanting to get your hopes up too much. Do you know why you miscarry is there anything the hospitals have said etc to you why it could be happening? I really hope that this one sticks for you X

mayago · 11/05/2016 20:14

Congratulations to all the newcomers! January is going to be a busy month Smile

Fortheloveof I'm sorry you've gone through this. Fingers crossed this one sticks and you can feel more excited soon.

I'm super dizzy again today. Does anyone know of any home remedies that will help? I'm on my own today and can't face the two flights of stairs to my bed Sad I did manage to reheat some dinner at least!

Belfastgirl90 · 11/05/2016 20:33

Forthelove I'm sorry for ur previous losses, fingers crossed for you and anyone else that has had m/c as well.

I took my first CBD and I think I really love them! I have another one for when I see my doctor, the 20th may just to take before then. I'm hoping she scans me, she did every time I saw her when I was pregnant with my DD because I have a womb prolapse. I'm hoping to get some piece of mind ☺

Belfastgirl90 · 11/05/2016 20:55

Is anyone watching one born every minute tonight?

TinyHumanJan17 · 11/05/2016 20:59

Fortheloveof im so sorry for all your losses

MagpieCursedTea · 11/05/2016 21:28

Mayago I get a lot of dizziness too. It's apparently because your blood pressure is lower in early pregnancy. I find having a sit down and some water helps.

Tiny there are some antidepressants that are recommended over others for pregnancies but for SSRIs it's mostly based on which ones have the most data. There are some great online resources, I know Dr Hale is good for breastfeeding and meds but I think he also covers pregnancy. Worth having a look. You could also call the midwife and ask if the perinatal mental health team could advise you.

1sttimemum2014 · 11/05/2016 21:45

Hey Ladies, congratulations to you all!

I am due around 7th Jan, this is my 2nd baby have a 3 year old son. I am still in shock after taking the test on friday. We were TTC for nearly 2 years and fell pregnant on first round using chlomide. I am now really worried about how my son will cope with going from having all of EVERYONES attention to having to share!! I see some of you have 2/3/4 babies maybe you can help?

Havent got many symptoms boobs have felt a bit tender and had a bit of cramping like period pain. I am nervous as 2 very close friends have recently had mc's. I have a reassurance scan which is given as standard when using the fertility unit at my local hospital (NHS not private) in a couple of weeks not sure what they are looking for really! Last time only had the standard 12/20 week scans.

Hope you are all feeling ok :-)

thisisbloodyridiculous · 11/05/2016 21:50

tiny I'm on fluoxetine - reduced dosage but will be taking throughout my pregnancy as the risks of me being off ADs are greater than slight risk to baby of me taking them

Had a ridiculous day today I can barely function between nausea and exhaustion. Sad
