I know there's already a thread up for early Jan babies but couldn't see one for the rest of Jan (probably as I'm jumping the gun a bit here!).

This is my first proper pregnancy and I'm a planner by nature so I need some kind of place to talk about this so I don't drive my DP mad!

Bit about me:
I'm 28
This is baby number one
EDD 6th Jan.

Anyone else want to join me?

Hello everyone, can I join too?!
Am still in shock- found out a few days ago and am finding myself googling every symptom and working out what food I'm allowed to eat!
What are the next steps? I guess I should phone my GP soon- but on the website it says not to get in touch until 9 weeks- which seems ages away...
I hope everyone is keeping well!

MagpieCursedTea · 13/05/2016 09:54

Congratulations porcupine I'm also having my second and noticed symptoms a lot sooner. Apparently that's quite normal with subsequent pregnancies from what I've read. I also had cramps early on but if it's all concentrated in one place then keep an eye on it and if it gets worse or you get any bleeding then see a doctor. Chances are it's implantation though!

Congratulations to you too sunny! The next steps depend on your area but you don't normally see a midwife until around 9 weeks. It does feel like ages. The NHS website is great for advice about foods etc to avoid.

Becky22761 · 13/05/2016 10:25

Congrats everyone. Ill be 6 weeks tomorrow ive booked early scan at 8 weeks cost £95 but worth it. Waiting till 12 weeks takes forever. This is my 5th baby.

Texasbamma · 13/05/2016 12:44

Thanks Magpie ! How old is your first DC? Yes it's all still sinking in at the moment (I couldn't sleep much last night from the excitement/news!) and still very early on so no symptoms yet other than the ridiculous bloatedness and protruding tummy. Probably more to look forward to?

Am amazed how much I have forgotten already about being pregnant (probably cos birth of DS was v traumatic I have blocked it all out ;-) )

Becky wow baby no 5 that's impressive. I have also just booked an early scan for 7.5 wks ... too impatient to wait till the NHS one, no GP appointment even available in my area for 3 wks.

Is anyone considering the Harmony scan? I didn't do it first time round but several people I know really spoke highly of it.

Keeping fingers crossed for a smooth pregnancy for everyone. It's hard keeping this secret from immediate family / close friends until that 12 wks mark !

TinyHumanJan17 · 13/05/2016 12:48

Have had horrendous tummy ache and nausea so just been to doctors and theyv made me an appointment at the early pregnancy unit tomorrow morning. Im trying not to wprry too much and i know im not bleeding or anything so it could be worse but im so anxious

twinkydink · 13/05/2016 12:55

Wow lots of new faces, congrats everyone!!

Had my first experience of feeling dizzy yesterday but I was on a hot poolside teaching swimming!

I'm 5 weeks today and main symptom seems to be tiredNess. We have agreed to tell our parents in two weeks after our first doctors appointment but that feels like forever away!! It's so weird talking to them and feeling like I have the biggest secret in the world!

Andanzadora · 13/05/2016 13:15

Congrats to everyone with new BFPs!

Has anyone else had cramping in their upper abdomen? I've been having quite a bit today, but hoping it's just trapped wind. At least it's nowhere near my uterus so don't think it's a cause for concern.

I've noticed my appetite has deffinitely grown in the last couple of days. Last night I wolfed down a big portion of tea and literally couldn't wait to tuck into pudding, and just now found a bit of leftover cheese in the fridge and thought "yay a snack to tide me over while I make lunch!"

Ni4444 · 13/05/2016 13:41

Becky baby 5? Wow!! You'll be like our wise oracle!!

What's the harmony scan Texas?!

Tiny I can imagine how worrying that is...Is the pain like AF cramps? Or more like stomach pain...wonder if it could be something totally unrelated? Glad you've got an appointment to get checked out soon. Hope it all goes well xxx

Twinkymytwin are you 5 weeks today too? It's still so early but at least I've moved past 4+ weeks!! I'm the same...it's mostly been thirst and tiredness. Hope the nausea stays away!!

Ladies you'll laugh I'm trying to get a pre pregnancy tummy shot...but because of bloating Ive already missed my best pre pg tummy shot!!!

Becky22761 · 13/05/2016 13:53

Me too im so bloated and i normally have flat belly as do loads of exercise. I have a night out tomorrow im gonna have to suck it in!! :(

kitsta · 13/05/2016 13:55

Hi all - please can I join? So happy to find this thread - I am 6 weeks, due date 5th Jan - but it's my first so I guess it might be a fair bit later than that. How is everybody feeling? I am knackered!
Hope everybody is very well.

Becky22761 · 13/05/2016 14:13

Hi kitsta congratulations x

saffronkit · 13/05/2016 14:52

Thanks! (Username now saffron kit as result of my mucking about and not being able to change it back) Any other first time mums a bit daunted??xx

saffronkit · 13/05/2016 14:52

As in I was kitsta and now saffronkit - sorry so confusing!

flossy101 · 13/05/2016 15:08

Congrats on all the new Bfps!

I'm 5 weeks exactly today, can't believe it's taken this long to reach 5 weeks, feels like I've known forever! (12 days in reality due to early testing!).

I'm v bloated too, keep sucking my tummy in and remembering baby is only the size of a lentil (according to my ap)!

saffronkit · 13/05/2016 15:13

Am exactly the same re belly - getting married in 8 weeks time - researching Spanx for mothers - there is a hilarious product which accommodates little specks - definitely going to get one

Belfastgirl90 · 13/05/2016 15:28

I was at the doctors today and she told me reduce or come of my cilitopram because it can cause the baby to have a hole in its heart, although not 100percert proven. Had anyone else been told this?

ZylaB · 13/05/2016 17:12

texas I'm having Harmony test done, will be 10+2 when we have itI think!

TinyHumanJan17 · 13/05/2016 19:47

Hey its like a tight feeling across my lower abdomen then i keep getting random pains going from down below right up to my bellybutton. Im also so tired its unreal had a 2 hour nap at 2 o clock and im now in bed already.

So nice to hear about all these bfps!

TinyHumanJan17 · 13/05/2016 20:27

Iv started with the d and v bug thats been going round work :-(

Surf25 · 13/05/2016 20:37

Hello all
Hoping I can join in. Found out I am expecting dc4 this week Smile will be nice to share our journeys together. Am sorry to read of those in the group have lost babies and hoping for everyone that things go well. I think I am around 4 weeks, due mid January.

Belfastgirl90 · 13/05/2016 20:59

Congratulations surf just wondering how was ur symptoms with DC3? This is my 3rd and I'm guessing I'm just over 5wks but my work trouser's are so tight to the point I'm having to undo them. Did this happen to u?

tiny hopefully that's were the pains have come from.

Surf25 · 13/05/2016 21:09

Hi Belfast I have had similar symptoms each time although vomiting was worst with dc1 than with 2 or 3. I did feel more bloated earlier on and remember for dc3 having to wear different work trousers earlier on. Ones with a lower rise/waist! Hope that reassures you a little?! All my pregnancies and labours were similar so I guess time will tell about this on. Still such early days!

ChickadeeChick · 13/05/2016 21:49

Ugh I'm with you on the bloating ladies. I had to undo my jeans today at my desk and let it hang out (I work from home luckily!!) And the trumping Blush. So undignified.

I'm 32, this is baby number 2, our DD will be 3 in November. EDD is 15th January.

Congratulations to all the new BFPs! Smile

Tiny poor you hope you feel better, are you still going to EPU or are you putting the pains down to that? I had that last Friday before I knew I was pregnant. It was not pretty at all so I know how you feel Flowers

Belfastgirl90 · 14/05/2016 00:01

Thanks surf yea both mine were different but my tummy seems to be really bloating this time compared to the other 2 and it doesn't help MIL announced there was twins in the family lol!

chickadee I'm not trumping but the burping I'm doing is ridiculous it's something I hardly do but partner is finding it hilarious!

We told our parents today, everyone was happy about it although my dad said he already knew because my hormones wer up the left😕 he knows more than me because I didn't even know!!! Shows how much our parents see really!

ChickadeeChick · 14/05/2016 05:55

Haha Belfast my DP is taking the opportunity to fart loudly, a lot, and tell me I can't say anything (usually I give him the disgusted look). I don't actually fart that much generally but I really can't help it at the moment! Also burping too. Blush

How funny your dad could tell! My mum usually knows everything although didn't suspect last time. I'm still finding it difficult to talk to her as I feel like I'm lying to her.
