I know there's already a thread up for early Jan babies but couldn't see one for the rest of Jan (probably as I'm jumping the gun a bit here!).

This is my first proper pregnancy and I'm a planner by nature so I need some kind of place to talk about this so I don't drive my DP mad!

Bit about me:
I'm 28
This is baby number one
EDD 6th Jan.

Anyone else want to join me?

Morning ladies. Please can I ask your advice? I'm 7+1 and until 5 days ago, I was having terrible MS and sore boobs. Went out and bought some sea bands which helped. Then I took them off overnight as they were hurting me and I forgot to put them back on. Realised then that I was no longer feeling sick at all and my beast tenderness is completely gone. I wasn't worried at first as I know what symptoms can come and go but I am surprised that they have gone for so long. I am trying to be calm and enjoy that I feel good at the moment, especially given the heat but I have a horrible nagging fear that something has gone wrong. What would you do? Xxx

swancourt · 06/06/2016 09:23

Hi wintersummer.

7+1 is still early and it is very possible for symptoms to come and go at this stage. Mine did, and I panicked a lot as I have had loss of symptoms = mc before. This time I had early scans when I lost my symptoms and they were worth every penny. Go to your GP/call your EPU - they may refer you for a scan (but they may not as you are not cramping/bleeding and so there's no real cause for alarm). If they won't refer you, and if you can afford it, I'd book an early scan - it will set your mind at rest no end.

Just remember though - if you're not cramping and bleeding, it is perfectly possible for the symptoms to vanish. This time in a week you'll probably be throwing up Shock

CarrotVan · 06/06/2016 09:29

Winter - my breasts were monstrously sore for a few days and now are much less painful but definitely bigger. I think I had a growth spurt...

I totally agree with swancourt - no cramps or bleeding then it's probably just your hormones going up and down which is normal.

Me too Jodie which is a bugger because the MIL is staying and she and DH are both on healthy eating plans. All I want is Pringles and eclairs

Scan for me today at 6+6 on the 6th day of the 6th month...

Jodie1982 · 06/06/2016 10:05

CarrotVan. Good luck with your scan. All the 6's are weird lol.

Where did u get your username from? Wish I had an imagination when it comes to usernames lol

CarrotVan · 06/06/2016 11:02

It's what DS1 calls caravans

Jodie1982 · 06/06/2016 11:52

Lol bless him that's funny. Grin

Kittykitty05 · 06/06/2016 11:53

Eugh just called in sick, I'm still being sick and can't see how I can teach a very difficult class today, especially PE Confused sadly though I'm agency so no work, no pay Sad

Astro86 · 06/06/2016 14:06

Sorry your feeling so rubbish Kitty and hope things pick up for you. But teaching PE while feeling rotten and in the heat (assuming it's sunny where you are), I'd be calling in sick too!

Today my nipples are agony! So flipping sore! cant wait to get home from the school run later and be able to ditch the bra for the day!

Last night I had the urge to bake for the first time in weeks so have spent today scoffing blueberry muffins. It's making a nice change from pretzels at least.

Anyway, hello to the weekends new joiners and hope the scan goes well carrotvan

releashi · 06/06/2016 14:18

I had my scan this morning they couldn't see where the bleed was from but everything looks ok, heartbeat and all. I'm so relieved. 7 weeks they say and next scan booked for the 12th of July. I'm still getting blood coloured cm after a bm they said as there was no sign of a bleed it might have been/be my cervix.

I also threw up this morning for the first time so far I've only gagged and then breathed deeply till it passed but my nausea isn't as all encompassing. Almost all foods turn me off at the moment, fruit and cheese sandwichs it is then. Astro well done baking I've been super reluctant to prepare food.

Carrotvan good luck at your scan.

Wintersummerwintersummer · 06/06/2016 14:42

Thanks Swan and Carrotvan. I've just got a nagging feeling that something isn't right. With my DD, my symptoms might have changed day by day but they never disappeared altogether. The only symptom I have is being shattered but I don't know how much of that is running around after a vvvvv energetic toddler in the heat. I might get a scan booked in- might put my mind at rest or confirm my suspicion. They're around £50 near me so I can afford that.

Hope kitty and anyone else feeling rotten feel a bit better soon (though I must confess I'd be reassured to be feeling ill again).... Xx

Jodie1982 · 06/06/2016 15:08

Releashi. So pleased your lil one is well. Try and take it easy. Cake

CarrotVan · 06/06/2016 17:41

Scan was fine, measuring bang on my dates, heart beating away

Next scan in a couple of weeks plus specialist pregnancy clinic

Tabitha78 · 06/06/2016 19:21

That's good news on the scans CarrotVan and Releashi! Sorry about the sickness Kitty.

Nausea hit me half way through breakfast this morning for the first time - 6+2. Suffered all the way to work on the train and my colleagues cup of coffee nearly finished me off! Seemed to go at lunchtime thankfully and got to actually enjoy the meal DP took me out for!

EvansAndThePrince · 06/06/2016 20:31

Hey all, just checking in again Smile sorry so many of you are struggling with the sickness Sad had my booking today at 8weeks, it went quite well I think! I've been feeling either totally stuffed or ravenous, and absolutely loathing the heat but otherwise keeping well. Smile

As usual any newbies, PM me with your email address to be added to Fb!

micapainter · 06/06/2016 20:52

Hi, I've come back after a stressful couple of weeks. Things haven't been great with my bf and was thinking about not going through with it (I feel sick thinking that) but my mum talked sense into me so now I feel better and relieved that I don't have to make any decisions.
Anyway, just wanted to reach out so that I don't feel so alone. I live on my own and I'm really struggling to do basic things like washing and cooking, so have been eating badly and just having ready meals or quick cook pastas. I was so healthy before this and was losing weight! What does everyone have as snacks to get through the day? I'm thinking of cutting out gluten as I've been wanting to for a while but this would be a good incentive. I'm so bloated I already look pregnant, is that normal at 7 weeks?? It's probably from my diet maybe.
I'm really struggling with fatigue, can't do anything in the afternoons! But haven't had much nausea, just dizziness but bought some acupressure wrist bands which have made a huge difference.
Hope everyone has coped today. My dd is 20th Jan :)

CarrotVan · 06/06/2016 21:17

The bloat is big on me too, mica

I try to eat fruit during the day but really whatever I can stomach, little and often

Ni4444 · 07/06/2016 03:50

Hi ladies, been posting on the fb group, but not getting on MN very often. 8+4 here...awake the last two hours and finally gave up and got up for snacks!! We finally caved and booked in a private scan on Thursday before we tell my parents that evening...fingers crossed everything is OK.

Winter I've had "baby hangover" since week 5, then realised yesterday that it's been gone the last 3 days or more...worried.. ..then it came back mid afternoon yesterday! My boobs have stopped being sore too. If the worry is too much, see if you can get a scan xx

Mica it sounds like it's been a very tough start to the pregnancy journey for you...glad you have a supportive mom on board. Listen, I was thinking the exact same...I'm usually super healthy with my diet but the last few weeks I'm so exhausted, nauseous, (and not keen to be around cooking smells) that I've been eating crap and ready meals too. Try not to judge yourself...just make the best choices you can. I was craving plain carbs so much I went off and made a huge batch of mashed potato which I froze in small portions....then had some as a snack during the day at work when I was feeling grim!! Also found I could stomach Cheddar and crackers, or Irish soda bread with Cheddar as snacks. Or peanuts? Watermelon is supposed to have some natural mineral that helps with morning sickness too. Ps...I'm totally bloated and pregnant looking the whole time no matter how much water I drink or walking I do!

Time to try sleeping again!!! Night all x

hels18 · 07/06/2016 11:24

Shame so many of you have the sickness, hope it soon passes. After feeling nauseous for a few weeks, I have actually been very sick the last few mornings and turned up at work events a very sweaty bedraggled mess. Public transport is the worst with sickness! Luckily the boss is being great and letting me be a little flexible where possible as his wife has almost the same due date as me so very understanding and sympathetic. No more bleeding since Saturday so am hoping things are back on track!

broodykg · 07/06/2016 11:34

Hi all,

Just checking back in as this chat fell out of my 'I'm on' list.

7 weeks today and can't believe how slow time is going. Also the hungry sickness I was feeling has gone and boobs aren't so sore which is slightly worrying me. Although still not really got any appetite, have to remind myself to eat.

Sorry so many of you are feeling so ill, I kind of wish I was in order for it to all feel more real!! Haha.

Booking in for an early scan late next week as just want to break up that time till the 12 week scan. Also for first midwife appointment which I've been alerted is actually the length of two appointments so guess that's going to be a lot of questions and information to take on board.

broodykg · 07/06/2016 11:36

Ps this is totally gross but is anyone else feeling like they have a lot more wind? I keep getting stomach ache from it!! Get up once most nights with stomach ache like I need to go to toilet but i don't, just a little trump haha.

releashi · 07/06/2016 11:53

Hey broodykg I also have that it is very painful at times.

I'm also not eating well just struggling with everything. Grapes are what I'm continuously eating to prevent the empty stomach nausea but I'm having trouble with the eat more than a few mouthfuls without gagging. I'm clinging on to the fact that I ate most of a pizza saturday night so pizza 3 times a week anyone? I'm a vegetarian and not being able to stomach green veg is sad. I'm just trying not to worry about it too much and just make sure I eat as much as I can without undoing it all by eating too much and being sick!

GwendolineLacey · 07/06/2016 16:23

6+3 today and I feel like I've been out and had around 3 drinks too many every day for the past week. Not puking sick but nauseous, sweaty, -obnoxiously slightly moody and stupid. Oh my lord, the stupid. I have

  • forgotten many times what I'm in a room or place in order to do
  • realised halfway to a family event I was a week early
  • taken a right turn and driven down the wrong side of the road (!!! wtf!)

I'd like my brain back now, please, Baby.

Jodie1982 · 07/06/2016 17:16

GwendolineLacey Grin I've got the baby brain too. Can't have a proper conversation either, I sound drunk Grin
BroodyKg I have awful wind too...I done fart n really surprised myself as it was so violent 😂
I'm waiting for my Enchiladas right now, i'm always so hungry, having a salad with it so I don't feel so bad 😁

MagpieCursedTea · 07/06/2016 18:56

Yes to the hungover feeling, inability to have an intelligent conversation and the wind. Oh the joys!
The carpal tunnel I had in the last few weeks of my first pregnancy has returned, it compliments the pelvic pain nicely Hmm 9 weeks is way too early for this shit!

Parney · 07/06/2016 19:05

Broody, I had awful stomach cramps like that from just before my BFP and feeling like I needed the toilet but obviously didn't! The only thing that helped was loads and loads of water! I'm 10+2 now and that stopped around 6/7 weeks. It was so painful, I was up about 3 times most nights.
And baby brain is hardly ideal! Your stories made me laugh Gwen!
