I know there's already a thread up for early Jan babies but couldn't see one for the rest of Jan (probably as I'm jumping the gun a bit here!).

This is my first proper pregnancy and I'm a planner by nature so I need some kind of place to talk about this so I don't drive my DP mad!

Bit about me:
I'm 28
This is baby number one
EDD 6th Jan.

Anyone else want to join me?

Yes to feeling cold all the time. Not helped by the fact that summer does not seem to want to arrive this year!

Mumchatting · 03/06/2016 17:04

Hi everyone :) hope everyone is doing great! I was wondering if anyone has been prescribed anything to ease the 24/7 nausea? I'm seeing GP soon as I feel very nauseous all the time and it really is affecting my life now. I have a 2 years old son to look after as I'm a stay at home mummy and I struggle a lot with the nausea!
Do the doctors prescribe medicines for nausea too or only for sickness I mean vomiting? I don't vomit but I'm feeling so sick all day long and need some relief :(

Tabitha78 · 03/06/2016 17:22

Sorry that the morning sickness is kicking for so many of you. I'm 6 weeks tomorrow so imagine it's only a matter of days.

I'm also permanently frozen. Resorted to putting the woodburner on the last couple of nights Grin

Milky sorry to hear about you MMC last time. Is it worth seeing if you can some support from your Dr - they might give you extra monitoring if you've had one before?

releashi · 03/06/2016 22:36

Summer9 I had a worse bleed yesterday lunch time told my boss I thought I was miscarrying then went to a&e as the GP couldn't see me and sent me there they booked a scan for monday but the bleeding went brown and stopped by this morning, no clots that I saw, so I guess I can only wait till then to know what is happening. Also I feel pretty embarrassed about telling my boss when I hadn't said I was pregnant but I didn't know what else to say.

Jodie1982 · 03/06/2016 22:45

Releashi sorry to hear your going through a scary time with some bleeding. I hope your scan goes okay Flowers

hopingandwaiting · 03/06/2016 23:10

Hello

6 +2 here after IUI, due 25th January. First pregnancy so not a clue what to expect. Hope I'm ok to join the chat.

Lucky enough to have had a scan on Wednesday - tiny little heartbeat in just the right place :) Makes the nausea worth it to see that! I'm finding that I have to eat every time it starts to kick in to keep the nausea - Hello handbag full of bananas and breakfast bars!

CarrotVan · 04/06/2016 08:42

PGP is a git, Milky. I had it with DS1 and nearly ended up on crutches

Mumchatting - not sure if they'd prescribe for nausea but they will for hyperemesis because of the dehydration risk. You get things like Stemetil I think

Sorry to hear you're still having problems, Releashi. I've got a scan tomorrow too after bleeding a couple of weeks ago so we can hold hands!

Welcome hoping

Tabitha78 · 04/06/2016 09:38

I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself this morning. Woken up with back/hip pain so not gone to parkrun - I was determined to carry on running and haven't done a single step this week. Was supposed to then be watching DP do a triathlon but can hardly move so have stayed home. Feeling v guilty.

Releashi - hope everything works out okay for you.

Welcome hoping!

MagpieCursedTea · 04/06/2016 09:55

Tabitha my step count has been vastly reduced due to similar pains and exhaustion. I'm not sure if it's better to just reduce what I'm doing or keep pushing myself? I don't want to make the pains worse. Hope your hips and back feel better soon!

Hoping welcome and congratulations!

Releashi sorry to hear about the bleeding, all the best for the scan!

DH is working again today, I know he has a lot on but I could use some help with our toddler and I feel bad relying on my parents so much! I shouldn't complain as he's generally lovely and helpful, I just wish he didn't work so much!

Summer9 · 04/06/2016 10:37

Awww releashi - least the bleeding has stopped! I would of said the same to my boss so don't worry. Fingers crossed for the scan on Mon. Be prepared it may be an internal scan depending how far along you are - don't panic it doesn't hurt at all....looks like a dildo with a condom on top (made me laugh when I saw it but my best mate had warned me about it!)

So again I'm nauseous today ....went and got macdonalds breakkie and then pretzels ....pretzels seem to actually work! This is before I could of swung for hubby who asks what's up with me. I said I feel sick - then he goes on that he's had a bug all week and not complained.....ugh sometimes he does my head in! X

releashi · 04/06/2016 10:39

Thanks everyone, good luck carrotvan. It is hard to get up and go about my life not knowing but I'm going to try today. I wish I could eat properly anything resembling more than a sandwich makes me feel sick unless broken up.

PGP sounds awful I hope you're add OK as can be.

Joydgreen88 · 04/06/2016 11:13

Late to this, but can I join in? 8 weeks on Monday. I'm booked in for a scan Monday morning after a large bleed earlier this week, but still feeling very pregnant (insanely sore boobs and hideous all day nausea) so my gp thinks everything should be ok. Still v nervous but trying to stay upbeat and positive!

gumbootsandjandals · 04/06/2016 21:17

Hello all. A bit late to this but I somehow forgot when AF was due. My husband had to tell me to test yesterday as I started to feel a bit nauseous. I am 6+1 and due on January 30th. This will be dc#3. I will try to read through the whole thread to get to know people but wondered if there was a FB group already?

Mumchatting · 04/06/2016 22:11

Just an update, was prescribed cyclizine for nausea but it made me feel worse after taking just 1 tablet. It didn't stop nausea and I felt really weak, tired and sleepy the whole afternoon. I won't be taking it again. It seems like no cure for that awful nausea and I'm only 7+3 weeks. HELP!

gumbootsandjandals · 04/06/2016 22:21

Hi mumchatting. Sorry to hear you're struggling. I was prescribed Phenergan with dc#2 - it's an old school antihistamine. I only ever took it at night as it can cause drowsiness (and I had to drive to work) but it stopped the world spinning in the evening/night. I didn't feel it made me terribly drowsy so I may risk taking it in the day this time (my nausea has only just started but I am preparing for it to ramp up next week!).

Kittykitty05 · 04/06/2016 22:42

mumchatting I've been prescribed avomine/promethazine due to all day being sick. After a week on them I'm not taking one tonight after not even keeping water down this evening. Back to the doctors Monday I think! Hope your meds kick in

swancourt · 05/06/2016 11:52

Hi, can I join? I was on the December thread as I thought I was due right at the end of December, but I've had two scans now and both have put me due on 3rd January. That makes me 9+5 :)

I'm 33 and this will be DC3 - I have two DDs aged 4 (nearly 5) and 2 (nearly 3). I work full time but flexi so am off quite a lot with my little ones. I had a MC at 5 weeks before the two DDs, and then one at 8 weeks in March. Fell pregnant straight away after that (hence the two scans - I've been panicking, but the last one set my mind at rest).

Hope everybody else is doing well!

MagpieCursedTea · 05/06/2016 12:06

Hi swancourt, I recognise you from the late Dec/early Jan thread

hels18 · 05/06/2016 12:45

After a worrisome evening last night (had some bleeding and had to dash off and leave a wedding a little earlier than expected), I had my private scan this morning which showed a strong heart beat! She measured and dated me a few days under what I actually am (7+1) but we'll get the proper dating scan at 12 weeks. Such a relief, although she said to rest as much as possible in the next week or so. Will call the midwife tomorrow to make sure I shouldn't be worried about it.

gumbootsandjandals · 05/06/2016 13:54

I hate the first trimester, so blinkin nerve wracking. Hope you manage to get some rest hels18.

Jodie1982 · 05/06/2016 18:38

I feel so miserable today. Every movement is a huge effort. Really dislike these early wks. 😢

swancourt · 05/06/2016 20:05

So sorry jodie. Totally know how you feel. We took the girls swimming today and in the water I just felt like a normal person - no nausea, no heavy breathing to avoid vomit, no crushing aching exhaustion - just me! Going to try to go swimming a lot more through the next few weeks.

Glad your scan was reassuring hels :)

Hi magpie! I recognise you too

littleL88 · 05/06/2016 21:11

Hello ladies! I'm also late to the game but was hoping to join you all Smile

I'm 8w today and due on 15th January (ish). This will be DC2, already have DD who is 2yo. I had a MC in December so have been pretty anxious this time round and haven't wanted to tell anyone! I only just registered with the midwife but have known I was pg since 10/5. Got my booking in on Tuesday and my 12wk scan on 4/7 so I'm hoping this is a sticky one!

Looks like I'm having all the same symptoms as you guys, ridiculously sore (and huge!) boobs, knackered most of the time, absolutely ravenous at all hours of the day and feeling sick if I don't eat every couple of hours (although I seem to only want the ridiculously unhealthy stuff and anything even remotely like veg makes me feel ill!)

Jodie1982 · 05/06/2016 22:34

LittleL88, congratulations, have same due date. 😊
I've totally gone off veg n fruit, and meat. Wanting stodgy stuff to keep sickness feeling away. I was on a diet before pregnancy, was doing so well. 😣

littleL88 · 05/06/2016 22:52

Yay due date buddies ☺️

Me too on the diet! I done the exact same thing just a few weeks/months before I got pregnant with DD. Typical! I mainly want crisps, bread, chips, anything you can class as pure stodge. So imagine the bloat 😐
