I know there's already a thread up for early Jan babies but couldn't see one for the rest of Jan (probably as I'm jumping the gun a bit here!).

This is my first proper pregnancy and I'm a planner by nature so I need some kind of place to talk about this so I don't drive my DP mad!

Bit about me:
I'm 28
This is baby number one
EDD 6th Jan.

Anyone else want to join me?

Why oh why do they call it morning sickness when I started the day chucking up, and at 10.30 at night I'm still at it (and this time just water)
Please do not wish for sickness as a symptom, all the others, fine but not the sickness.

Admarks · 24/05/2016 23:15

No symptoms here either other than extreme tiredness and tender boobs (oh, and a lot little bit of short temperedness). Slightly worried by my lack of symptoms, but equally Google informs me that it is quite normal and not to be concerned, that being said it also says it can start at 8-10 weeks!

Feeling guilty about a glass of coke I had with dinner (I've had no caffeine 6 months) - my brain is wired but my body is shattered and I can't seem to fall asleep. Something tells me tomorrow will be a long day!!

ZylaB · 25/05/2016 08:14

I'm another with tiredness as the only symptom! Am 7+4 now so wondering if I will escape it, and at the same time worrying it means things aren't ok even though we've seen a heartbeat!

SunCrusHH · 25/05/2016 08:21

Hello, can I join? I have just found out I'm pregnant. I'm about 6 weeks and due date end of January. This will be baby number 1! My boobs are achey and I feel abit off (like a hangover !) but that is it. I'm still running and going to my exercise classes which I'm determined to keep up! I will phone the doctor this week also. Feels all abit surreal!

Tabitha78 · 25/05/2016 08:23

Welcome Sun! Good to hear of someone else still keeping up the running. I'm trying to as well, although my sore boobs stopped me in my tracks on my last run!

SunCrusHH · 25/05/2016 08:35

Im wearing two sports bras which seems to be working for me at the moment! I'm struggling on my longer runs but my shorter ones I'm fine. I have lost almost 4 stone in 2 years so I'm determined not to start eating for two and un do all my hard work haha!

MagpieCursedTea · 25/05/2016 08:44

Welcome sun! Congratulations on the pregnancy and the weight loss! I'm also determined not to reverse all my hard work losing weight. I'm finding the tiredness and nausea is making exercise a struggle but I do feel better afterwards so trying to keep it up.

GwendolineLacey · 25/05/2016 08:50

Congrats sun!

I've some twinges in my lower back today but could be because of pilates on Monday or just in my head. Have been on symptom watch so long I've started to be a teeeeensy bit hypersensitive in spotting them. (I thought a gum infection with odd mouth taste was one, for example ). Hoping morning sickness somehow forgets to visit me.

Pilates is ok in pregnancy isn't it? Going to speak to the instructor, would really like to keep it up!

CarrotVan · 25/05/2016 09:01

Pilates is mostly fine but there will be some things that you shouldn't do (same as in yoga). There are some pregnancy specific Pilates dvds and Youtube workouts that might be worth looking at.

GwendolineLacey · 25/05/2016 09:04

Thanks carrot. To YouTube with me!

CarrotVan · 25/05/2016 09:06

I am so incredibly tired and my boobs are sore - all positive pregnancy signs but I could do without:

a) DH being away for work all week leaving me to do solo child wrangling

b) weekend plans for the next 4 weekends

CarrotVan · 25/05/2016 09:07

Gwen - your instructor will be able to advise you. Is this your first?

CarrotVan · 25/05/2016 09:10

Tabitha78 · 25/05/2016 09:19

Thanks great news on the weight loss Sun. I'm also worried about putting weight back on, so far I've held stable so am going to try and keep running 3x a week.

Gwen looks like we're due date buddies! I'm waiting to hear back from my pilates teacher. I think it's ok providing they adapt the exercises so you're not doing things on your stomach.

GwendolineLacey · 25/05/2016 09:51

Thanks again Carrot! Yes, first one. So operating with a bit of a knowledge gap :) Weekend plans for the next 4 weekends sounds knackering. We're busy this weekend but then have a couple to flump about the place watching One Born.

tabitha Ooh, due date buddies! That's really cool :) I'm going to get on to my pilates teacher too, have only had one class so far & very keen to keep it up to hopefully get a bit of strength into my marshmallow core.

Boadiccea · 25/05/2016 18:08

Well done on the weight loss Sun and Magpie. I've only managed to lose 2 of the 4 stone needed so feeling a little upset about that. Trying to maintain my running and working out though but the HIIT ones are making my nausea worse so passing on those for the moment. (I might have to give the double sports bra a go though as during my last run it really hurt!!)

My appetite has totally gone funny and I miss enjoying my veggies Shock so am really hoping I don't gain tons of weight during this process!

SunCrusHH · 25/05/2016 18:13

I'm still hungry and have my appetite but I'm still on 1200 cals a day. I read that I won't need to up my calories just yet so I'm just sticking to what I have been doing for the last 2 years. No more weights or floor work outs but will increase cardio instead. Will look at adding in swimming to make up for my lack of weights. I still fell well enough so I want to make the most of it in case it changes!!

Boadiccea · 25/05/2016 18:20

I'm not hungry at all so forcing myself to eat bits for energy otherwise my runs are terrible. I've not been counting calories the past couple of months but doing LCHF and its been amazing for me so hoping I can maintain that and maybe implement some good carbs along the way.

I was doing strength work today but without the weights so just using my body weight, it felt good and boosted my energy levels. Was thinking of adding swimming too. Definitely keep going if you feel well enough too! How many weeks are you?

ZylaB · 25/05/2016 18:42

sun I don't know how you're doing it! I've lost 4 St since June last year but I've put half a stone back on already. I have never ever been so hungry in my life, and this is my second pregnancy! I need to reign it in but don't know how :(

SunCrusHH · 25/05/2016 23:04

I'm only around 6 weeks so still time for me to start feeling unwell! Fingers crossed I can keep up the exercise!!

Ruggermonkey · 26/05/2016 08:18

Hope everyone's doing ok. Have no appetite, not sick during the day but cannot keep down my dinner. Been having some spotting, trying not to panic, but it's hard. Having been ok with being told I couldn't have children, I really blooming want this!

CinderellaFant · 26/05/2016 08:22

Fingers crossed its nothing to worry about rugger!
I have a significant amount of weight to lose, im hoping to stay at slimming world during the pregnancy and my aim is to weigh less at 9 months pregnant than I do now!

CarrotVan · 26/05/2016 09:32

Rugger - go to an Early Pregnancy Unit. They will do HCG blood tests to make sure your levels are rising and possibly a reassurance scan. IME they are wonderful people

I am exhausted. Roll on the bank holiday

MagpieCursedTea · 26/05/2016 12:29

Agree you should get yourself checked out rugger, take care!

Signoritawhocansway · 27/05/2016 08:04

Posting because this drops out of "threads I'm on" otherwise.

How is everyone feeling today? Plans for the bank holiday?
