I know there's already a thread up for early Jan babies but couldn't see one for the rest of Jan (probably as I'm jumping the gun a bit here!).

This is my first proper pregnancy and I'm a planner by nature so I need some kind of place to talk about this so I don't drive my DP mad!

Bit about me:
I'm 28
This is baby number one
EDD 6th Jan.

Anyone else want to join me?

belfast I went to the pharmacy and they give me clotrimzole cream? She said she can't give me anything else because I need it diagnosed by the doctor (I'm going on Friday) I tried to get it free on minor illness like you said but you can't get it when only on maternity Confused which was super annoying because they only told me I couldn't get it once I had gone home to collect
the rest of my information!

Glitterball86 · 24/05/2016 12:35

Can I join? Due around 26th January, have an 8 month old DC and this is my first pregnancy after
MC in February :/ congratulations to you all cx

Lura7115 · 24/05/2016 13:02

glitterball congratulations and I'm sorry for your loss Flowers I also have a 9 month old and also had a miscarriage in febuary.

Glitterball86 · 24/05/2016 13:07

Flowers to you too!! Ahh it's nice to know I'm not alone :)
I'm
So paranoid everytime I go the loo and worrying about having 2 under the age of 2 x

Lura7115 · 24/05/2016 13:09

It is super scary after a mc im just taking it easy this time, well as easy as I can with a 9month old Grin I think it will be hard with 2 under 2 but be worth it Smile

Glitterball86 · 24/05/2016 13:15

Couldn't agree more :)

Jodie1982 · 24/05/2016 13:38

I'm freezing cold every blinking day. Dp thinks I'm weird. Never experienced this before in pregnancy.
Anybody else feeling so cold? Knackered is an understatement 😴
Jo (6+2)

Blondie87 · 24/05/2016 13:47

Congratulations Glitterball.
Jodie one you're further along your blood volume increases and you'll be super warm all through winter!
Gah I've git myself in such a state. Big apologies for a the following paranoid pregnancy question but if anyone has knowledge on this I'd be super grateful.

I'm usually super conscientious with what I eat when pregnant and I genuinely thought it was fine to eat steak medium (I guess heading into med/rare territory). I thought that you only were meant to avoid raw/undercooked pork and poultry. I also thought (stupid me) that the risk was food poisoning so if you didn't get ill, you were fine. I've since discovered to my horror that the risk is Toxoplasmois which is symptom free and takes 2-3 weeks to show up on blood tests and that it's pretty destructive to the baby. I'm getting myself into such a state with worry as I had a steak on Saturday. I thought second time round I'd be more chilled but this has scuppered that!

Jodie1982 · 24/05/2016 15:47

Sorry I don't know much about Toxoplasmosis. I had a medium rare steak a couple of wks ago....ooops. I'm going to have a Google about it.

EvansAndThePrince · 24/05/2016 16:30

Blondie I ate undercooked port accidentally the other day and have the same worries. Never got I'll from it all all so hoping it was cooked enough not to carry toxoplasmosis but I have no idea. Having said that I also change the cats litter every day so...

EvansAndThePrince · 24/05/2016 16:31

Actually I think I'm likely to have immunity to it now after years of doing litter. I'm not positive though. Unfortunately I think it's a "hope for the best" situation.

Admarks · 24/05/2016 18:07

Can I join too? I'm 7+6 ish (EDD sometime between 31/12 and 04/01 depending on which app I use!) and have been lurking on various Dec and Jan groups! This is my first so I'm super excited and scared and constantly worrying somethings not right!

On the steak front, I was not aware that medium or rare was off the table... We have our wedding anniversary at the weekend and have booked a table at Gaucho - I think they will refuse to cook it well done!!

Hope everyone has a happy and healthy pregnancy- hoping the weeks fly away to our 12 week scans!!

foresttrees2 · 24/05/2016 18:16

Hi Admarks!
I also had not heard of the steak until just now...
What did people do before we could constantly worry and Google everything?!

Can I get a link to the Facebook group?
Also can other people see if you've joined it? (I've I haven't told anyone yet!)

FrakIsBack · 24/05/2016 18:18

On the toxo front I live in land of toxoplasmosis stress, have had monthly blood tests in previous pregnancies and eat my steak bloody and my carpaccio frequently. I've not yet managed to catch it. We'll see how we go this time buts worth asking for a blood test to see if you're already immune.

flyawayblue · 24/05/2016 19:01

Hi all. I've been floating on a few threads as due end Dec early Jan so bit sure where I should be! This will be dc2 and my dd will be nearly 3 when this I've arrives.

Blondie87 · 24/05/2016 19:10

Hi to all those joining!

I really didn't mean to scaremonger or worry anyone at all and I think it's a personal decision what you do and risk is relative etc. I just don't want anyone to have to have the unnecessary worry I have now! Sorry to hear you're worrying to Evans. I spoke to my MW today as she asked me to change my booking appt and I asked about the blood test and although it's not routine she's going to test me. I have heard that if the test is positive, it doesn't necessarily mean you're actively infected but have been in the past and therefore are likely to be immune. Apparently they can tell if it's current or past from the antibodies.

Frak I'm also a super rare beef/ carpaccio fan outside pregnancy but I've never had the blood test so no idea if I've ever contracted it as it doesn't have symptoms usually. Are you based outside of the UK then?

EvansAndThePrince · 24/05/2016 19:31

Forest if you send me a pm with your email address I'll add you to it. Smile and nobody can see or search for it, it's invisible Smile

Blondie I'll maybe ask my midwife when booking then. In fact the hv is round on Monday for DD so I could ask her.

Extrapepperoni · 24/05/2016 20:52

Thanks for the kind words Carrot & Blondie!

Cheeky - so sorry to hear. Hope you're doing okay

Hellington · 24/05/2016 21:00

Hi everyone! I got my BFP on Friday and think I'm 5 weeks - due around 19th Jan with dc2. Dd1 is 2.5.

Would love to join a FB group if its secret.

No real symptoms yet but I'm nervously waiting as last time I had horrible nausea until about 16 weeks.

EvansAndThePrince · 24/05/2016 21:01

I have none pepperoni. I feel totally normal except for the slightly sore nipples and absolutely howling at the thought of my DD having to share me!

GwendolineLacey · 24/05/2016 21:03

Hi all :) I think I might be knocked up. I have a serious quantity of double striped tests piling up on my kitchen table. Due date calculator says 28th of Jan. Can't really believe it, we've been trying for about 8 months and was starting to think it wasn't going to happen.

Even though we absolutely did this on purpose I have a lot of OHGODHOWWILLWEDEAL going on. Swinging manically between that and looking at pictures of buggies. And brain power is at an all time low.

CinderellaFant · 24/05/2016 21:04

Can I join? Just found out I'm pregnant-by my dates I'm due at the start of February but as I have to have a c section I will be taken early, so all going well it will be an end of January baby! Last month I had a miscarriage at 5 weeks so really nervous this time. I had a miscarriage 6 years ago too, but have had 2 children since. I'm so excited to do it all again. My boobs are have been so sore the past few days so I had an inkling I was expecting Grin

Turnertime14 · 24/05/2016 21:29

I haven't had many symptoms either - sore boobs and tiredness cover it all! No nausea really - just when I'm hungry (which is a great excuse!)
Hi Cinderella and Gwen! Congrats!!

FrakIsBack · 24/05/2016 21:41

I am indeed non UK. Have been for every pregnancy so far! One day I'll have a baby in my own country. In two of the places I've been the advise having screening before TTC (obv only works for planned pregnancies!) for toxo, rubella antibodies and a bunch of other things, depending on the country and the risk of stuff like HIV or malaria. I don't plan to eat rare steak or carpaccio while knowingly pregnant but I figure if I accidentally ate it in the early stages of pregnancy it's highly unlikely that I'd catch it that one time out of all the times in my life. Cat litter and gardening have a much higher likelihood of transmission.

GwendolineLacey · 24/05/2016 21:48

Thanks Turnertime14 :) No major symptoms my way yet either, boobs are super tender and I'm a bit more dim than normal but no nausea or anything
