January 2017 babies

I know there's already a thread up for early Jan babies but couldn't see one for the rest of Jan (probably as I'm jumping the gun a bit here!).

This is my first proper pregnancy and I'm a planner by nature so I need some kind of place to talk about this so I don't drive my DP mad!

Bit about me:
I'm 28
This is baby number one
EDD 6th Jan.

Anyone else want to join me?

Thinking about you. Take care. X

Boadiccea · 22/05/2016 20:47

Hi all, haven't been a regular poster of visitor to Mumsnet in a long while, found out last week that I'm pregnant and feeling a bit lonely as we don't want to tell family and friends yet. Glad I found this thread. Think I'm due 18th January so hope I can join here! First time pregnancy for me so trying to not over read nor worry!

MagpieCursedTea · 22/05/2016 20:49

Congratulations Boadiccea! It's my second pregnancy and I'm still trying not to over read or worry!

BuffaloCustardbath · 23/05/2016 09:34

Congratulations Boadiccea!

I've got a lot of catching up to do! My parents have been visiting, and I don't get as much free time as I'm used to! They live overseas, and like to explore the UK while they're here, so it's a lot of driving/work for me.

Looks like January is going to be a great month! Grin

I had some spotting on Friday, which was absolutely terrifying. Thankfully it didn't stay long, and I feel back to pregnancy 'normal' now.

Lura7115 · 23/05/2016 17:32

Sorry if tmi but I have thrush I have never had it before. I read that you can get it in pregnancy due to hormonal changes 🤔 can't get an appointment at my doctors until Friday. Can anyone suggest something I can get over the counter that is safe to use in pregnancy?!

Belfastgirl90 · 23/05/2016 17:54

Hi Lura I would say canesten although I would ask the pharmacist first just incase and if u get prescription for free u can order it over the counter for free on the minor illnesses scheme. Let me no if it os safe to use Smile

Surf25 · 23/05/2016 17:59

Canestan cream over the counter is fine to use. Best to use just the cream and avoid the pessary.

broodymamma · 23/05/2016 19:01

Room for 1 more?
Seems very busy on here.:-)
I am mum to 5 girls and due on 10th of Jan.
In bed now feeling shattered while DH puts the others to bed. Meant to be attending parents evening tonight. Just can't face it.
I have just been catching up on all your posts and am looking forward to join you ladies on this stressful and magical journey.

littlepooch · 23/05/2016 19:01

Cheekychick I am so so sorry. There are no words really, it's a horrible thing to have to go through. I remember it well. Look after yourself xxx

CarrotVan · 23/05/2016 19:50

I'm so sorry Cheeky - Ive been there and it's horrible. Hope you're being well looked after

redstrawberries101 · 23/05/2016 19:52

Thank you for your kind words. I don't really know if I'm coming or going at the moment.

CarrotVan · 23/05/2016 19:57

I met with the Gynae nurse for the recurrent miscarriage clinic. My HCG numbers look good, I've had an internal scan which showed a gestational sac which is ok for my dates, I'm being scanned every two weeks until 10 weeks. My blood tests show an increased level of thyroid Peroxidase which is a thyroid antibody which might need treatment. They're repeating the blood test to check if it's really an issue. I've been given high dose folic acid to take as well.

I'm tired and so bloated I can barely do up my trousers! I don't remember being this bloated this early. My SPD is flaring up and my hips hurt. Only 5 weeks tomorrow...

redstrawberries101 · 23/05/2016 20:01

Hi carrotvan. Can i ask how many miscarriages you have experienced? I'm just looking for a bit of hope!

Boadiccea · 23/05/2016 20:01

Thank you Buffalo and Magpie!

Wow Broody 5 girls!! That's amazing and probably a very busy household!

Carrot I am also really bloated and only managing beige foods at the moment so thats probably adding to the bloat too :/

Turnertime14 · 23/05/2016 20:04

cheeky I'm sorry for your loss - hope you're ok and you have support in your real life!

CarrotVan · 23/05/2016 20:11

I had three last year after having no issues at all with DS1. I had two early ones at 5 and 6 weeks which were mostly likely genetic issues (bad combo of chromosomes or similar) and one at 12 weeks which is likely because I caught chicken pox.

I know loads of people who've had miscarriages - in my group from when DS1 was born at least 3 people had a MC between DC1 and DC2 and my colleague had one before successfully having two kids in 2.5 years. My SIL had three MCs and then 3 boys in 5 years with no further issues.

It's worth getting medical help through the GP or EPU so it's on your records in case you need more investigations later on - the NHS investigates after three consecutive MCs unless you're over 38 (I think) when they'll investigate after 2.

It's a grim process and very draining. Do take time to recover fully

redstrawberries101 · 23/05/2016 20:22

Thank you. This is my second (6 weeks) and first was a mmc at 12 weeks (stopped growing at around 9-10 weeks). I developed urinary sepsis so it could have been to do with that.

CarrotVan · 23/05/2016 20:31

That's very hard. I am so sorry that it's happened again.

mayago · 23/05/2016 22:28

I'm so sorry this has happened to you Cheeky. Please take care of yourself Flowers

Serg · 24/05/2016 08:23

We were away for a family wedding at the weekend there, felt horrific and just wanted to come home to be honest!

Anyway, back now and there was pages and pages for me to catch up on. Hello everybody!

I've booked us for a reassurance scan 2 weeks on Friday, I'll be 8+3. Super nervous actually.

I'm still not in the Facebook group of anybody could help, there was something wrong with the link I was sent.

MagpieCursedTea · 24/05/2016 09:05

Serg did you click on the link in the Facebook email? What happened?

Serg · 24/05/2016 09:43

MagpieCursedTea - it said invalid link, not authorised to see content of page.

EvansAndThePrince · 24/05/2016 10:21

Serg I sent a second one a few days ago, has it not worked either??

Serg · 24/05/2016 10:33

No, I didn't get the 2nd link.

(Sorry to be a pain about this!)
