I know there's already a thread up for early Jan babies but couldn't see one for the rest of Jan (probably as I'm jumping the gun a bit here!).

This is my first proper pregnancy and I'm a planner by nature so I need some kind of place to talk about this so I don't drive my DP mad!

Bit about me:
I'm 28
This is baby number one
EDD 6th Jan.

Anyone else want to join me?

brandnewmummy tummy cramps are normal, lots of hormones means it's limbering up for the big stretch!

micapainter · 19/05/2016 16:37

Walikingdeadfan We have the same due date :) and it's my first too! I feel overwhelmed by how much there is to take in right now. It hasn't sunk in yet.

EvansAndThePrince · 19/05/2016 17:03

Mica yes I've been doing nothing bizarre things for a week or two now. I just can get my brain into gear. I think I spent 15 minutes trying to count hours the other day. I keep finding stuff in totally wrong cupboards too. Good news is it goes on all through pregnancy and a good few weeks after birth Grin

EvansAndThePrince · 19/05/2016 17:03

I've been doing bizarre things like adding random words into sentences too!! The "nothing" ... I don't even know, to be honest, where that came from.

EvansAndThePrince · 19/05/2016 17:04

Uh... And that supposed to be "can't" get my brain into gear. God GrinGrinGrin

brandnewmummy2B · 19/05/2016 17:05

Kitty
Thank you for putting my mind at rest!

Tabitha78 · 19/05/2016 17:07

Hello!

I'm just tentatively sticking my head around the door! I got by BFP yesterday and I'm only 3+5 so I know it's very early days, but thought I'd follow the conversation here for a while whilst the news sinks in! EDD 28 January Smile

Littlejenfer · 19/05/2016 17:14

Hi everyone!
I got my BFP 6 weeks ago, this is my first pregnancy after being told it was absolutely impossible to conceive. No periods for 3 years = no ovulation, the doctor just shrugged and said 'hey, sometimes we get it wrong'. But it's wonderful.

Because of no period we can't predict when it will arrive, but an early pregnancy scan put it at roughly 6 weeks (5 weeks ago) so I think I'll be due end of Dec/first week of Jan if its late.

I'm getting fat, can't fit into normal clothes, heart burn, dizziness, nausea, metallic taste - the works, but it can't take away from the amazingness of it all. I am so excited and can't wait for my first proper scan.

Ni4444 · 19/05/2016 17:15

I'm behind on the thread.. Will catch up. Feeling so hungover today (that's my term for baby nausea!) but I just saw the GP so pregnancy is official!! And she's sent on the referral to my preferred hospital 😀

Myheartisbeating · 19/05/2016 19:23

Ni I'm the same. Can't concentrate, feel horrifically pukey and just want to drink all the water. And the exhaustion. At least I can pop now! I haven't m had any bloating either and my boobs are less painful. Urgh, I am not enjoying this one bit.

Congratulations to all newbies - haven't caught up fully but great to have you here Smile is it worth starting a list of due dates yet?

EvansAndThePrince · 19/05/2016 19:41

Wow amazing littlejen!! Congratulations on your little miracle!!

Welcome all other newbies, there's a Facebook page, if you want to join, PM me your email, yada yada yada Smile

I reckon we should hold off till everyone's 12wk scan to start due date lists as they'll just keep changing until then!

cupcakequeen7 · 19/05/2016 20:38

Is anyone experiencing loss of appetite?
I'm usually a big eater I loveeee food but past few days I'm starting to eat and after a few bits I just do not want it. Obviously forcing myself to eat little and often and good foods but it's just so unlike me!!

EvansAndThePrince · 19/05/2016 20:54

Quite the opposite Cupcake! I cannot stop eating at the moment, but it may be the start of morning sickness, I seem so start late on morning sickness, so I'm eating as much as I like at the moment! Think you're doing the right thing, little and often. Try to drink lots, keep hydrated, that's the main thing. Smile

Blondie87 · 19/05/2016 20:57

That is incredible Littlejen congratulations.

Welcome to all the BFPs!
I still can't believe it......

Blondie87 · 19/05/2016 20:59

I'm still not feeling sick like last time and boobs aren't sore yet. Ni hungover without the alcohol was exactly how I felt last time! Last time I grazed consistently.

cupcakequeen7 · 19/05/2016 21:02

I don't feel sick it's so strange how I just do not want to eat. Im also quite bloated but I do get bloated before my period but that obviously didn't come this month so don't know if that's why still got the bloated feeling. So strange all the weird and wonderful things hat happen to your body during this time!

EvansAndThePrince · 19/05/2016 21:10

I think a lot of us are really bloated too, mine is worst in the evenings. It gets better soon though Smile

spottytable · 19/05/2016 21:45

Can I join? Got BFP today. Knew something wasn't right, suddenly felt grumpy, shattered, a bit vacant, bloated, unable to focus, forgetting people's names, Sicky feeling and then feeling like I had just had a boob job!

It was over 5 years ago that I was last pregnant so I've forgotten everything, plus baby wasn't planned so a bit rabbit in headlights

Ni4444 · 19/05/2016 21:53

Cupcake I felt like that last week-no interest in food...which is very unlike me!!!!! That was at 4+. This week, at 5+ nausea has kicked in and I'm put off certain things. Just try to keep nibbling!

Welcome Spotty and congrats!

Feeling cold again here today...ended up on the couch with hot water bottle. Bed now...thankfully OH left me on the couch and went to shops send made dinner. Sweet boy. One more day til the weekend!!!!

cupcakequeen7 · 19/05/2016 21:55

ni I'm 4+ now I'm hoping the nausea doesn't kick in next week!! But then again I'm going away in June so would rather it maybe started now and then subsides by then!!!

Serg · 19/05/2016 22:23

Littlejen, that's properly wonderful!

Hi everyone, I'm 5+3 with our 2nd, we have DS who will be 3 in September. I think we're going to get a reassurance scan at 8 weeks, I am so impatient and can't wait for our scan in July.

blondel · 19/05/2016 22:35

Bent over to put my shoes on and blurgh! Felt like I'm squashing my tummy already?!

Have we got the Facebook group yet?

ChickadeeChick · 19/05/2016 22:36

Littlejen that's fab news! Huge congratulations to you!
Serg I am 5+2, DD is 3 in Nov Smile

MagpieCursedTea · 19/05/2016 22:52

Congratulations to the ladies with new BFPs!
I think the bloating is caused by progesterone which is why you might also experience it before your period.
Cupcake I've also had a reduced appetite. Even when I do feel hungry I can only manage a small amount before I'm full again. Nausea has been really bad today and I'm so exhausted.
