I know there's already a thread up for early Jan babies but couldn't see one for the rest of Jan (probably as I'm jumping the gun a bit here!).

This is my first proper pregnancy and I'm a planner by nature so I need some kind of place to talk about this so I don't drive my DP mad!

Bit about me:
I'm 28
This is baby number one
EDD 6th Jan.

Anyone else want to join me?

Got my confirmation from the doctors I am occicially pregnant Grin now to make an appointment with the midwife and get the ball rolling Smile

CarrotVan · 17/05/2016 09:29

Can I join tentatively? I had a + at 10 dpo on Friday and have just had a blood test to confirm because I have a history of MC (3 last year). I'm seeing the recurrent miscarriage nurse on Monday to start my care with the rmc antenatal clinic. If successful this will be my second child - DS is 3 and wonderful. EDD is 22nd Jan but I will likely have a planned section a couple of weeks earlier.

flossy I'm also in Manchester - where are you getting your scans done?

Finely chopped ginger and slices of cucumber in sparkling water help me with nausea but I don't tend to get it badly

CharminglyGawky · 17/05/2016 11:13

Anyone else beginning to believe that this is actually happening?

Got my 3+ on CBD bang on time, booked my first midwife appointment yesterday and just booked an early reassurance scan which is actually going to be on the same day as my first midwife appointment, so hopefully I will be able to turn up at the doctors with a picture of a little blurry dot!

Also getting regular calls from my mum to check up on me.... She never calls, always left it to me to phone her ever since I left for uni, apparently it was so that she didn't 'bother' me Hmm

littlepooch · 17/05/2016 11:26

Hello all - can I join!

Got my bfp yesterday - bit of a shock as DD is only 6 months and it took us 18 months plus a mc to fall pregnant with her. We thought we'd better get a move on for number 2 and got our bfp the first month!!

We are over the moon though and hoping against hoping that this sticks. Due around 22 Jan but think I will likely need a planned c section this time so will probably be a bit before.

No sickness as yet but I had awful sickness and nausea until 23 weeks last time - lemon squash and starburst sweets were all I could manage for ages so I'm not looking forward to that bit at all!

Blondie87 · 17/05/2016 11:30

I still can't fully believe it's happening! I don't have many symptoms yet and just can't invest emotionally too much yet.

That's great Charming that you got the result you need. Bet you can't wait for scan!

I know this is ridiculously superstitious but my grandma always accurately predicts pregnancies and gender way before she'd have any way of knowing. She told me and my mum that I'd only have one child which has freaked me out now I'm pregnant with my second; or in her word 'you might be like you're mum'. She had me then multiple miscarriages. I can see how irrational I'm being even writing this but it's on my mind now and I just want to think positively!

Carrot I can see why you're apprehensive but at this moment you are pregnant! Yay! I really hope it all works out for you.

Lura congratulationsthat must be a relief.

Sorry to all suffering with sickness.

bluebunnyblue · 17/05/2016 11:50

Just checking in again - still hasn't really sunk in even though I have been testing twice a day (internet cheapie sticks!). Got a 2-3 on a CBD this morning, which is spot on I think as I am only 4+2. Kate and Blondie I think that makes us due date buddies, so I will join you at the back. Also Carrot?

I sympathise with those of you suffering with sickness, but am also slightly jealous - I have basically no symptoms and it's a little unsettling....anybody else had this and it turned out ok? I had major sore boobs with dd from even before I got a positive, so this is very different.

flossy you're lucky with those scan prices - it's £95 for an early scan here (Cambridge)

Last of all, please can I join the fb group?

closetoyou · 17/05/2016 13:29

Coming to join you all, due date January 14th.

Belfastgirl90 · 17/05/2016 15:00

Congratulations bluebunny and closetoyou!

Blue bunny im not having any symptoms apart from mood swings and exhaustion I did have sickness before I found out and it's away but I was like that with my other 2 aswell. Your symptoms could come more the further into the first trimester u get maybe?

EvansAndThePrince · 17/05/2016 16:24

Congrats new people! Wishing lots of stick bean wishes for you carrot.

I'm a bit snappy er than usual and just went off on one at DH for making me mad, and then I shouted at DD and she looked so betrayed and it's all his fault. So I may be slightly hormonal. I've also got the sore nipples when it's cold like I did last time but otherwise I feel fairly normal. Im bracing for the 7 week mark though.

Blue PM me your email address. Smile

MagpieCursedTea · 17/05/2016 16:43

Congratulations to the newcomers, it's going to be a busy January!

Evans sounds like boob reynauds! I got it when I was breastfeeding. I kept little hand warmers in my bra which helped.

My moods are ridiculous. I have (well controlled despite being off medication at the moment) bipolar disorder so really needing to keep an eye on things to make sure it's not the start of an episode but I think it's just hormonal. Not very pleasant though. I've also got a sore throat/cold which isn't helping.
I had an acupuncture session earlier today though which was lovely.

Kittykitty05 · 17/05/2016 16:58

Hoping I can join and stay!
I'm on pregnancy no 7, hopefully baby 3, after 3 mmc, and stillbirth of my baby boy last year.
I have a Ds and Dd who are 12 and 8, big gap as getting a no3 is proving tricky to get!

I think I'm 5 weeks today, and only have sore boobs and heartburn as symptoms.

PippaRose · 17/05/2016 18:13

Hi everyone

Signing up as got my BFP on CBD today, first baby with EDD of 14th January.

Anyone else find it strange writing it down?! Doesn't seem real yet..

flossy101 · 17/05/2016 22:06

Carrot I'm going to take a peek which is in St Helens, HelloBaby do them even cheaper at £40 but I couldn't get an appointment with them on the day I wanted. HelloBaby have a Facebook page and I've seen them post offers for half price scans if you can go the same day. The one I went to last pregnancy was £105, so glad I've found cheaper.

littlepooch · 17/05/2016 22:09

Any one else having or had tummy cramps? I've been having them all evening and a bit worried....

brandnewmummy2B · 17/05/2016 22:16

Hi ladies, got our BFP on Saturday afternoon , after choosing Our wedding venue! Needless to say, a bit of a surprise. But after a few hours of "ohhhhh mmmyyyy godddds" and fuuuuuu**ks we are so happy but trying not to get too excited as it's such early days! Think due date is 11th Jan from my calcs... It felt weird to tell someone when I rang the GP surgery. So excited to tell my mum- it'll be her first grandchild. Want to tell her soon but not too early as so worried something bad might happen!! Which feels bizarre as only a few days ago i was willing my very late period to make an appearance and now in paranoid every time I go to the loo incase I find blood in my knickers! Oh the emotion. got a bit of nausea so far but manageable, very tired this evening and my boobs- oh my god so sore. And heavy. And nipples are so hard all the time (sorry if TMI!). Have had a few cramps too but I've read that is normal...?
Congrats to all you other mummies to be!!!

Ni4444 · 17/05/2016 22:22

Congrats to all the new BFPs and welcome!! We're becoming quite the crowd!! We'll need a register at some point to keep track!

I was wondering why I wasn't having mood swings, then came home after 10hr work day to find OH had only hung out half the wet laundry cos he was interrupted by his friend coming round to play fifa, then I noticed the cat had used the litter tray (he refuses to empty it because she's my cat, and he's not an animal person...despite me telling him that pregnant women aren't supposed to touch cat litter!). Actually...writing all that down...that's enough to make me explode on an average non preggers day!! ...and I didn't explode...just hit a peak, then moved on. I take it back...I'm still not hormonal and moody. I think I'm fcking winning!!!

Ni4444 · 17/05/2016 22:24

Ps..finally made it real...called the GP today. Bloody useless though...they can't offer any pre-booked apts so Im gonna go there 830am Thursday and hopefully get an apt for that day. I want my midwife referral!!!

Perkins1 · 17/05/2016 22:25

Gosh there's lots happening! Congrats to all the newcomers! Still frantically knicker checking over here Blush
flossy I went to Hello Baby with DS and plan to go there again this time - will keep an eye on Facebook for their offers!

Ni4444 · 17/05/2016 22:36

Slight panic....boobs don't seem to be sore anymore!!! Confused

cupcakequeen7 · 17/05/2016 23:34

Lura7115 · 18/05/2016 07:37

Welcome cupcake congratulations ☺️ It's amazing how you just get the feeling that you are, u had the same feeling. I'm also 24 this is #2

Ni4444 · 18/05/2016 08:19

Morning ladies. Welcome Cupcake!

Ate a banana before leaving the house.. Hoping that will help with blood sugar and reduce the nausea on the tube!... Just read that vitamin b6 helps...and I just stopped taking my b complex vitamins cos I figured my preg vitamins had b vitamins already in!

Ginger product shopping lined up for tomorrow! How are others coping??

littlepooch · 18/05/2016 08:35

I remember that feeling of feeling so sick and awful on the tube. It was awful. I could smell everyone as well and it used to make me heave. So glad I don't have to face that journey this time round.

MagpieCursedTea · 18/05/2016 09:16

Morning everyone!
Congratulations to the newcomers.
Ni I hope the banana helps. DS and I both have colds so dealing with that on top of the sickness. I've started getting pain in my hips when lying in bed. Something else that started much later in my last pregnancy but is the effect of hormones so didn't sleep very well. It's going to be a fun day!

EvansAndThePrince · 18/05/2016 10:11

Cupcake so glad you came over!!!
