January 2017 babies

I know there's already a thread up for early Jan babies but couldn't see one for the rest of Jan (probably as I'm jumping the gun a bit here!).

This is my first proper pregnancy and I'm a planner by nature so I need some kind of place to talk about this so I don't drive my DP mad!

Bit about me:
I'm 28
This is baby number one
EDD 6th Jan.

Anyone else want to join me?

Blondie those digital tests really can vary from woman to woman. The pharmacist we bought the one from on holiday gave my DH a massive lecture about how inaccurate they are and how I'd just be stressing myself out. I got 1-2 at 4 weeks, 2-3 at 5 weeks and 3+ just before 6 weeks. It was the same in my last pregnancy but I was worrying anyway because everyone else on here seemed to get 3+ at 5 weeks.

Lura I had some painful cramps around the time I got my BFP and for at least a week after. They got so bad they woke me up a few times but it seems a lot better now.

Minotaurus · 16/05/2016 14:59

blondie I really should! Although trying to hide some of the crazy from my DH. Thankfully I live in the middle of nowhere so I can't easily buy more tests. That should stop me for a while.

goldensunlight · 16/05/2016 16:18

I have only done 3 tests...an IC day before my period was due which was positive but quite light then a frer straight after as a rushed to the pharmacy straight away! Line was really dark straight away. I couldn't help doing the other frer the following morning but since then I haven't tested and that was nearly two weeks ago....now I'm thinking I should do another???

thisisbloodyridiculous · 16/05/2016 16:27

I'm having a lot of trouble with sickness and fatigue still. 6+1 today - took another CB digital and got my 3+ yesterday Grin cheered me up amongst all the vomiting haha!

Got an early scan booked for a week on Saturday. For reassurance and also to find out if it's one bean or two! I'm a surviving twin (my DM miscarried my twin during pregnancy) so much more likely to have twins... don't mind either way would just like to know to be prepared!

Lura7115 · 16/05/2016 16:37

thisisbloody I'm a twin and I still waiting on my very own set! Would absolutely LOVE twins! My mum always said it was earlier to look after me n my twin when we were babies than my two older sisters Smile

honeyice · 16/05/2016 16:59

Hi Guys,

I thought I would come and join you all as I found out last week that I am pregnant with my first, and am currently 4+5 so think I'm due on 18th Jan. Bit scared writing that I'm pregnant on here in case starting to talk about it tempts fate, which I know is a bit silly! :)

Belfastgirl90 · 16/05/2016 17:00

Hi girls I've been at work and wedding dress fitting actually on the bus on the way home.

Congrats to all the new BFP!

Im saving my CBD until Friday morning when I have my early scan just to make sure it's Defo a baby lol maybe 2 I was only told there was twins in the family but they have skipped 2generations!

I'm so exhausted today!

CharminglyGawky · 16/05/2016 17:09

I got my BFP a week and a half ago and I'm still struggling not to keep testing! Going to do a CBD tomorrow to get my 3+ on the weeks thingy! then I'm gonna call it a day I think!

I booked my booking appointment today, 8th of June, it seems ages away but I will only be 8+2 then. I'm going to book in a private scan around then as well.

Hormones seem to be kicking in today, I'm watching the Queen at 90 on catch up and just cried at the National Anthem Hmm Now I quite like the royals but that seems a bit odd, I'm only watching for the horses!

5+0 with #1

Lura7115 · 16/05/2016 17:15

Welcome honeyice congratulations! Super exciting isn't it Smile

sunnypeony · 16/05/2016 18:01

I booked my booking appointment today too-13th June.
I am utterly shattered, keep wanting a nap! Also have a very strong aversion to coffee which is not like me at all...
Just debating whether to have a private scan or not...

thisisbloodyridiculous · 16/05/2016 18:35

lura I wouldn't mind two at all - baptism of fire as this is my first but I'll take what I get happily Smile two beans would be lovely.

Lura7115 · 16/05/2016 18:53

thisisbloodyI do also have a 8 month old who will be 16 months when this one arrives so il have my hands full Grin
Think I'm Gona hold off for an early scan and have a gender scan instead at 16 weeks. With my DS I had a gender scan at 16 weeks and a 4d scan at 27 weeks ... Which wer both Amazing!!

ZylaB · 16/05/2016 18:54

Am 6+6 now and still not being sick! I should see it as a good thing but by this time with my dad I was throwing up 15odd times a day! Scan on Wednesday, so nervous there's something wrong :/

TinyHumanJan17 · 16/05/2016 19:02

This nausea is kicking my ass!!! All iv managed to eat today is half a tin of beans on a slice of toast, and a small salad. Chocolate is a no go, tea is a no go, yoghurts are a no go! Bean is gonna be picky!!

I told my 3 year old niece today that im growing a baby in my tummy and she was coming up to me every 10 minutes asking if it was grown and she could see it yet! She has a stethoscope (her dad decided that rather than buying a kids one hed buy her a real one!) and she kept holding it to my tummy trying to hear a heartbeat it was so cute!!

Im currently doing a degree through open uni and im also training to be a manager at work, and have coursework/paperwork to do for both of them yet i am laid in bed already reading wondering when would be an acceptable time to go to sleep!

Im still waiting on my booking in appointment yet, but the epau said the midwives are backed up around here atm so i wont worrk for another week or so. Me and oh have decided not to have an early scan but im debating whether i want a gender scan at 17/18 weeks or a 4d one at 25+ weeks, oh has told me i can only have one!

Has anyone else bought anything for baby yet? my best friend whos due in october recently bought a swinging crib but her and her dh are both very tall and so she doesnt think baby will fit in it for very long so rang yesterday to ask if we wanted them to bring it up around christmas time and we could have it for bean :)

MilkyMamma · 16/05/2016 19:32

Hello! Can I join?
BFP this morning, TTC since September, DS1 is 21 months. I'm only 11DPO but getting a 1-2 on a CBDigi. Here's hoping for sticky bean.Grin

Summer9 · 16/05/2016 19:36

Ladies with small ages gaps between your kids - is it harder? I'll have an 18 month gap.....ah well no sleep for a few more years yet then! Grin

When I got pregnant first time I was using those cheap preg tests off eBay. Then I got the faint line....I thought it was an evorporation line... Did another the next day, same faint line. Showed my best mate and she had to convince me that I'm not seeing things and made me buy a CB! This time round I did a CB to save my sanity. Smile

Pregnancy symptoms I never got any until about 8 weeks. I do remember getting the foul taste in my mouth so j was constantly chewing gum...waiting for that to re-appear!

ChickadeeChick · 16/05/2016 20:45

Congratulations on all the new BFPs! Grin

EvansAndThePrince · 16/05/2016 20:51

Doc went fine Smile got my blue folder and pee is away to be tested. also looked at double buggies.

How much to early scans cost? Do the hospital do them or is it elsewhere? We had one with DD as we didn't know our dates but don't see why we will get one this time.

Welcome new BFP!!

If anyone else wants on the fb group, message me your email Smile it's very quiet over there!

HopefulKate1980 · 16/05/2016 21:21

Yeah that's great news evans!! Is the wee test to check for infections? I can't quite remember what stage is what.

Congrats to the new BFP!!!

Hello from the back blondie!!

flossy101 · 16/05/2016 21:36

Evans I've booked an early scan and its £55 for a weekend ap and £50 for a weekday appointment. I'm in Manchester.

MagpieCursedTea · 16/05/2016 21:47

Congratulations to the newcomers!
Evans I'm glad the appointment went well.

EvansAndThePrince · 16/05/2016 22:00

Thanks all Smile

Kate, nope, just to prove I'm not lying about being pregnant Grin

politics31 · 17/05/2016 06:51

Hi, please can I join? Expecting dc2 on the 14th January. Excited but feeling very sick!

thisisbloodyridiculous · 17/05/2016 08:32

After a week of sickness was hoping I'd start to feel better... nope! Today is the worst yet - constantly feeling nauseous and after having a couple of cups of peppermint tea I've just projectile vomited all over the bathroom Sad Got to head out to work in a bit, only for 5 hours today but not sure how I'm going to manage!

Anyone have any tips!? I've been having a couple of ginger nuts before getting up on a morning, staying as hydrated as I can and eating little and often wherever possible. Doesn't seem to help!

blondel · 17/05/2016 08:56

Late for work as my breakfast decided to reappear. Sad Seriously contemplating telling my boss. I can't hide the sickness and I've got back to back meetings all week. 😷
