Same here turnips. Up even earlier than usual this morning, I normally get past 4am but it was 3am this morning Sad.

StubbleTurnips · 07/05/2016 04:15

It's crap isn't it? I didn't have this last time and during the day I could sleep for hours.

DoubleTroubleAndThenSome · 07/05/2016 05:29

Hope you guys managed to get back to sleepSmile I'm awake now too. The news about the twins meant I didn't sleep very well last night, I hope that we'll get better once the shock wears off...

DoubleTroubleAndThenSome · 07/05/2016 05:30

Ah! I changed names yesterday and then forgot to change back! I'm NotAClue!

I'll change back to my old name to avoid confusion x

FluffyPickleMonster · 07/05/2016 06:43

Wow twins!!! Congratulations notaclue, although I think you should keep your new name, very appropriate!

What are people's thoughts about going on holiday when pregnant? We're thinking of having one last sunny holiday just us in September so will be 26-28 weeks ish, as long as everything is going to plan. I don't sunbathe as such and am always in the shade with a book. Does this sound bonkers or a good idea??

underrugsswept · 07/05/2016 06:54

Definitely go on holiday! We went before DS arrived (I was about 20 weeks) and I'm so glad we did. We travelled about the US on trains etc and it was brilliant. As long as you're going somewhere with decent healthcare I'd go for it.

weechops · 07/05/2016 07:34

I'd definitely go on holiday! I did when I was about 20 weeks with dc3 and all going well this time, I'll be around 28 weeks when we fly to USA to check out our new home!

Babydreaming · 07/05/2016 08:21

2 questions...first one a bit cheeky!

  1. How much weight have you guys gained so far? I've only gains 0.6kg and I feel like it's all gone to my boobs. Just wondering how much we should have gained by now??
  2. When can you feel the top of your uterus? I'm 9w3d and very slim but can't feel anything yet! I'm a bit impatient...keep feeling everyday as it'd be nice to have reassurance that somethings growing! Can anyone feel theirs yet?

I bought a sports bra to wear!! I've gone from a b to a c and went to m&s and they recommended me wearing a sports bra. My job is very active so I don't mind too much! Good support although not flattering at all!

Hannahcarp27 · 07/05/2016 08:37

I'm on holiday now well 3 weeks travelling in Bali. All ok currently my big worry was mosquitos and eating something funny! So far I've been fine. Yesterday had all day sickness which meant couldn't eat so been trying to have smoothies. Actually good to think that I don't have to go to work with this sickness can at least chill out when I need to.

I have my first midwife appointment when I return does anyone know if I will get a scan then or will it just be booking in? I will be 10 wks by then! Thanks xx

Thisisbonkers · 07/05/2016 08:44

I've lost weight, about 5lbs, with the nausea and sickness!

I think it will just be booking in hannah. Mine is next week (10+4) and my scan will be after my holiday at 13 something.

Right, shall go and get properly measured for bras again. Current ones aren't making me sore but shall see what I can get.

cnchapmanxx · 07/05/2016 09:22

Fluffy - defo go on holiday! I'm going to La next Monday for 2 weeks when il be 9 weeks and we already booked something in September before I got preggos! Like underrug said as long as you have decent medical insurance you should be fine!

I feel like I'm cheating here cause I'm going to sleep at like 9 and not waking up til 8/9 the next day! What is this insomnia everyone is talking about? Hoping it eases for you girls!

Tmi up in the night cryin with constipation not had a poop in 2 days tried last night only a tiny bit came out but I know there was more as my stomach was so full and bloated! All I can eat/drink at the moment is diluted pop and jam on toast everything else I feel sick at the thought of! How is everyone ? Xxx

becciandbump · 07/05/2016 09:43

We are thinking of going on holiday in September too when I'll be 6 months my husband fancies Italy but I'm a little worried About problems so wondered if we should go to Ireland instead knowing the hospital will be English speaking. I'm prob just being really daft as Id enjoy the weather in Italy more x

swancourt · 07/05/2016 09:44

TWINS! Yay! And :o And yay again! Absolutely love that scan picture.

dartmoor your first birth sounds really, really tough. All my friends who have had ELCS after an EMCS have said the experience second-time around (of the ELCS) was amazing - easy to organise, quick, pretty good to recover from (not that I'm discounting the pain of any kind of birth recovery!), and you get your baby safely and without drama! Glad they're giving it to you no question.

I bought some good bras from John Lewis last time - they weren't a particular size - I think they did small, medium and large (because your cup size will fluctuate throughout the pregnancy and even at different times of day, and then again when you're BFing depending on milk, so cup sizes are pretty much irrelevant at this time of day). I stuck it out in my normal bras until 20 weeks and then when I put them on (they came in a box and were about £20 each) I couldn't believe the relief!

They are not pretty though!

FluffyPickle definitely have a holiday. I went to Florida when pregnant with DD and had a great time, and am going to Spain in about 5 weeks and really looking forward to it. My advice would be that the second trimester-ish is probably the best time to go, as morning sickness can be a bit of a fun-killer in the first trimester, and everything becomes more of an effort in the third trimester (plus you might find the heat a bit much if you go somewhere hot) but go and enjoy yourself if you can! Also on neither trip has it affected my travel insurance (provided you don't have any pregnancy related health issues).

Babydreaming I'm avoiding the scales but I'm already about half a stone heavier I think. To be honest I had put on 3 pounds by the time I got a positive test, as I seem to bloat and go into water retention straight away. I'm not sure when you can feel the top of your uterus though.

2 weeks and 2 days until my scan. Just want it done now so I can relax a bit.

LittleBear01 · 07/05/2016 10:08

Barking: yes, I understand what you mean about teaching being stressful and wondering if it is stopping you getting pregnant. The nurse at my IVF clinic told me that most of the patients are either teachers, solicitors or police officers, so you have to wonder about the link. I was signed off for 2 weeks after egg collection this time, and then went straight into the 2 week Easter holiday, so perhaps that made a difference and was why this IVF was successful?

Notaclue: OMG! That's the cutest scan pic - they're cuddled up together! Congratulations Smile

Baby: I haven't put on much/any, maybe a pound or two. My weight has been fluctuating by a few pounds though, mostly because my 'bump' is much bigger by the evening than it was in the morning due to water retention.

Regarding holidays, we had one booked for August to Florida, but have cancelled as I was too nervous about long haul affecting the pregnancy. Probably completely unwarranted, as there's no evidence to support that, but after previous m/c and as this is a hard-won IVF preg I just don't want to take any risks. Totally personal choice though.

LittleBear01 · 07/05/2016 10:12

Oh, and meant to ask, has anyone ever had a subchorionic hematoma in pregnancy (bleed in the uterus)? As I'd had some brown bleeding/discharge, I had a private scan and the sonographer could see the bleed. She said it won't affect the baby, but I wonder if I should be contacting the EPU for a follow-up check. I'm also on heparin (fragmin) so wonder if I should stop this as it's a blood thinner. Any advice appreciated Smile

underrugsswept · 07/05/2016 10:18

Too scared to weight myself and my little pot belly! I reckon I've put on about 4-5lbs so far. I was my slimmest ever when I got pregnant (that's running around after a toddler for you) at about 8 stone 9lb so I think my bump will show quite quickly.

NotAClue82 · 07/05/2016 10:32

Hey guys! Just wanted to let you all know that there is a good chance of one you guys is also having twinsGrin!!! I've just counted all our names on the list and there's 112 of us; the chance of having twins is about 1/62, so there might well be two twin pregnancies in our December group Grin.

So don't think you're in the clear just because I'm totally screwed and will never sleep again blessed with twinnies Wink.

billabye · 07/05/2016 10:33

I'm going on holiday in just over a week and again at the end of August, both times to Lanzarote. Can't wait. As long as your adequately insured I say go for it!

barkingtreefrog · 07/05/2016 10:33

Littlebear when I was bleeding early on the clinic told me to stop the heparin as it can make it worse, I'd call them and ask xx.

billabye · 07/05/2016 10:33

FluffyPickleMonster · 07/05/2016 10:47

Ooh thanks ladies, I think we will go away all being well! I'm glad you were all so positive, wasn't sure if I was being absurd! Was thinking fuerteventura, so not too far away or too hot, quiet sandy beaches and mockails! I've just told hubby your verdict and he's happy! We said we won't book until after 20week abnormality scan so don't need to panic about cancelling should things not go to plan. We have to go in sept as hubby can't take school holidays off so will be close to 28weeks, ideally would go earlier. Will def get good health insurance. Will be lovely just to have done quiet time together before our lives are turned upside down! Yay! I'm going to start looking now....,. Smile

billabye · 07/05/2016 11:06

We have annual travel insurance from American Express which was cheap. I called them up when I found out I was pregnant and they said no problem, they only need to be informed of high risk pregnancies.

Bella1985 · 07/05/2016 11:13

FluffyPickleMonster Fuerteventura is a great choice! English proficiency is good should you need advice at a pharmacy or doctors and it has a fantastic choice of food. (I'm a little jealous! We spent a week there end of March and vowed to go back again!) Smile
