I'm nine weeks today and starting to worry about chromosomal testing. Is everyone having the nuchal scan or the harmony test? I'd have like to have gone for the Harmony test, but I would have to go to another country to do it. I'm having the nuchal scan and if the risk is higher than 1 in 200 I get a free Harmony test, rather than going straight to amnio. I'm nearly 40, so my background risk is quite high.

I've been wearing jeans with a hairband over the button for a few weeks now. It makes me feel so much more sick if I have anything tight around my tummy. Definitely just bloat though!

Solomon I'm going for nuchal and bloods, and then depending on results, I'd pay for harmony.

I'm also feeling very bloated. My engagement ring felt very tight this morning.

I've also developed the superhuman sense of smell. My DD had just come back from her GP's and she STINKS of their house. I'm going to have to bath and wash her hair as I'm gagging

Has anyone had an unbilical hernia during pregnancy before I think I had a small one before pregnancy because of constipation but it seems to be getting worse already my belly button has gone a purplish colour x

billabye Yes yes yes to the superhuman smelling, I can smell everything and I hate it, I have to cover my nose when I cook or I'd vomit

solomon I'm going to ask at booking about what Nuchal tests etc we're getting offered and when, and depending what they say will either go for the harmony test or just stick with the Nhs ones

We're having the Harmony test on the 9th June. We had it with dd too (well, the nifty test which is the same but a different name because it's done by a different lab).

For me it's the taste of everything. Some things taste mouldy that definitely are not or could not even be mouldy. Other things taste oddly zingy.

Thanks so much for all your reminders that at 5 weeks having a weird sense of taste and boobs of fire is a completely normal symptom set :)

Oh dear, ladies, I think I might be out. Cramping and spotting yesterday, some brown but some bright red, today much more bleeding. Hardly 'stuck pig' proportions but more than spotting. Like a light period. I'm gonna see how it develops tonight/tomorrow but I think this is the end of the road. Does anyone know how quickly I'd get a BFN after mc?

So, 5 weeks. Boobs have finally calmed down. Less aching and they didn't really grow (thank Christ- I'm already a 34G FFS!) but I'm bloated. Ugh!!!

In other news... It looks like a dinosaur according to the app I'm playing with!

n0ne I really hope it's not what you think, but to answer your question it's different for everyone and each time. With my first two it took 7-8 weeks of on/off bleeding before my hcg levels returned to 'not pregnant' status, but after the last one it only took a couple of weeks.
Are you going to call your epu in the morning if you are still bleeding? Everything crossed it's all going to be okay .

Oh n0ne, do look after yourself. When I miscarried I bled for two weeks at varying levels and then got a very low hcg blood level so didn't bother taking a pregnancy test as I just knew it was over. I'd recommend going to the EPU as they can give you a blood test.

I think I'm out too ladies. Fresh bleed in my knickers so took an early flight home and have been in A&E since then. Have just been told to come back to EPU tomorrow for a scan. Not hopeful :(
