Dd's 2 & 3 , I meant. Good grief, imagine 4 daughters could potentially be reality when this baby arrives!!!

rider1975 · 29/04/2016 21:43

Great scan Barkng

barkingtreefrog · 29/04/2016 22:50

Lily yes, it's taken us almost 4.5 years, a lot of treatment and 3 miscarriages to get this far! DH isn't really doing any better though. He was very, very quiet at the scan and he still doesn't really want to talk about it.
I'm going to try and persuade him we should go for the harmony scans & test.

sunnydays I felt really sick and totally exhausted last week, and I've felt relatively okay for the last three days, which then made me worry!

Becci I had the same issue yesterday, Apple juice works for me!

ChoChang · 30/04/2016 07:53

Not been on for a few days so just having a catch up.

barking I'm so happy for you, what a great scan, to see that must be such a relief. Not too long to go til 12 weeks for you now, hopefully your dh will be able to believe it/relax a bit more then.

FluffyPickleMonster · 30/04/2016 08:40

Flowers to all those going through a bad time.

I'm not been around this week as so unbelievably busy at work and completely shattered when I get home. Went to bed at 6pm on two occasions and slept right through!

I've gone back to my parents for the long weekend. My lovely mum keeps offering me wine and has accepted my feeble excuses of being too tired and having a headache with a slightly raised eyebrow but hasn't said anything although I think she really wants to!

I've got my first midwife appointment at gp surgery on Tuesday. Can someone tell me what to expect please? Do they give you an internal or just take bloods?

KitKat1985 · 30/04/2016 08:46

Great scan Barking. Grin

Fluffy at your initial midwife appointment they will ask lots of questions about your medical history and circumstances. Then they usually check your blood pressure, test a urine sample (screening for urine infections) and take bloods. They won't do an internal. xx

Hope you're ok rider, my comments were a bit insensitive last night (also towards anyone else trying to concieve dc1)
Dd2 is completely smothered in chicken pox, none of the others have had them yet either (we thought dd1 did a few weeks ago, but it turned out to be a mole) so now have to deal with this sweeping through all of them! I'm sure I've had chicken pox but I'm paranoid and itching now!

FluffyPickleMonster · 30/04/2016 08:56

Thanks kitkat! I didn't know whether to trim the lady garden or not!! Ha! Grin

PlumpAndPlain · 30/04/2016 09:10

Just caught up with the last few days - I feel really anxious this time round and can't wait for scan. I've got so few symptoms compared to last time but I think that's because I found out earlier. Trying to be positive and not give in to my doom and gloom tendencies!

Nuttypops · 30/04/2016 12:49

Fluffy, they will take your blood pressure, take blood and do a urine test. At most later appointments, they then take your blood pressure and do a urine test and take blood at certain appointments.

Don't worry about internals, they shouldn't do one. The only time they should is if there is something that needs checking, or if you ask for/are offered a sweep around your due date. The only time I had anyone near there for my last pregnancy was for an early scan that they had to do internally, and then when I was in labour to check how dilated I was.

swancourt · 30/04/2016 13:58

HI ladies,

Not been on for a few days as I went on a work trip. Took a test before I went (Thurs morning) and the pregnancy line was darker than the control line - I was 4+5. 5 weeks today and yesterday and today my boobs have been feeling a bit less sore (they were killing the other day) and it feels like absolutely nothing is happening in my tummy area. Had stretchy pains and rock hardness before. Now it just feels like my usual belly.

Prob being paranoid, but since you're all at a similar stage or just a bit further on, I wonder exactly what you felt at 5 weeks and when the sickness kicked in? (I was vomming at 6 weeks or so with both my healthy pregnancies but I don't even feel a tiny bit of nausea right now.)

Booking in for an early scan when I am 6+6 (if I get that far - feeling not very hopeful today for some silly reason).

underrugsswept · 30/04/2016 18:14

I'm 7+1and apart from very slightly sore boobs I barely know I'm pregnant at all! Maybe I'm not really, eek . I sometimes feel slightly nauseous in the morning but not much at all. I remember with DS my morning sickness was worst (and still not very bad) between about 12-17 weeks. It's such early days I really wouldn't worry about symptoms or a lack thereof. Just enjoy it!

underrugsswept · 30/04/2016 18:15

And to actually answer your question... At 5 weeks I had a few cramps and slightly sore boobs. That's it. Grin

StubbleTurnips · 30/04/2016 18:38

I'm ravenous, slightly nauseous and have had terrible pain by my belly button - my stomach fees no different though still flabby. Having an early scan on Friday to make sure all's ok!

FluffyPickleMonster · 30/04/2016 19:15

Thanks nutty, I thought they'd be doing intervals more regularly for some reason. They do in U.S tv programs!

swan my symptoms vary day to day, I had a few days last week where I didn't have any at all, then this week they're back with a vengance.

Thisisbonkers · 30/04/2016 19:28

swancourt I had no symptoms for (seemingly) ages then BAM it hit at 6 weeks maybe.

Had my scan today, she put me at 8+2 rather than 8+6 but that's neither here nor there. It's fascinating to watch! This is inside me?! Shock

Hello baby!

leotwist · 30/04/2016 20:32

Adding my mini-bump to the Due December 2016 list: 22nd for us. Result of very long-haul IVF. 7-week ultrasound this Friday. Good hormone levels & no sickness at all (yet?), thank heavens. Congratulations to everyone on here, and very best of luck on this fabulous journey!

Thisisbonkers · 30/04/2016 20:52

Welcome leo Smile

TinySalmon · 30/04/2016 22:16

Welcome leo! Lots of us on here who have conceived through IVF or have had a tough time conceiving :) x

leotwist · 30/04/2016 23:18

Thank you for the welcomes. I'm ridiculously excited at seeing people's scans! 😵

BabyBumpHopeful · 01/05/2016 05:14

So sorry Cho , Rosa and Jojo :( Flowers

Fingers crossed for good news next week Rider

Had my first ultrasound on Thursday (pic attached), 7+2 at the time. Heartbeat measuring at 135. Appears I ovulated from my left ovary and they're happy with the state of my corpus luteum (or something). Panicked at first because all I saw was a black circle and she just said "and there's the heartbeat, do you want to hear it?" Was totally holding my breath and saw nothing until she focused a bit better (so small I'm not surprised I couldn't see much!)

I was seeing a specialist for fertility assistance but as I'm pregnant (and following the positive scan on Thursday) they've discharged me from their care and I'm going back to my original ObGyn's office. I've scheduled my first appointment - the checking in one where they take all my details - with them on May 9 (a day shy of 9 weeks), and another for May 16 (a day shy of 10 weeks)… I think that one is some form of testing.

Bonus: I was put on metformin for TTC and weightloss and I've lost 12lb in 7 weeks. I have enough to lose the docs aren't worried as long as I'm eating properly and baby is growing well. Nice little surprise (even though it won't last now there's a baby in there!)

Symptoms: Heartburn, really bad heartburn (I have GORD and they don't want me taking omeprazole and the ranitidine is friggen useless :( ) Also veer between ravenously hungry and totally uninterested in food.

Flashinthepan · 01/05/2016 05:47

Morning all. Just popped on to say unfortunately I will be hopping off this thread as the scan detected that my pregnancy was ectopic and I've now had surgery to remove it and the tube. I hope this doesn't cause any extra worry to those of you are feeling unsure/having any worrying symptoms. Please do get checked of you have any concerns though as I had no typical ectopic symptoms so am lucky we decided to have the scan whcih picked it up. Wishing you all happy healthy pregnancies and babies.

weechops · 01/05/2016 06:41

So sorry to hear that flashinthepan Flowers xx

Bigfam · 01/05/2016 06:56
