Wow! Thread number three.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Hi oddsock! My scan is on Friday 13th too, I'm choosing to see it as a lucky date, haha.

I wear black jeans to work and yesterday they were so uncomfortable on my belly....think I'm getting a little bump too. Need to order some maternity jeans asap!

I'm getting some really niggly little pains around my belly button today... It's not pain exactly but it's weird, I'm guessing it's stretching or something.

Good luck to everyone having scans in the next couple of days!

needanewjob · 11/05/2016 12:44

smells please try not to fret it looks like you are only currently 13 weeks based on your appointment date with the midwife. Plenty of time for you to grow x

oddsockfairy · 11/05/2016 12:49

Hi Metro! Yep me too- and I have a wedding to attend later that day... So really hoping for good news. No black cats or waking under ladders just in case though Hmm

No bump for me, I'm already a bit overweight so just looking extra fat (though am flattering myself that my tum might be looking a little less flab and more round)...?! Halo

JadeT2 · 11/05/2016 12:52

Scan went brilliantly, measuring as 14+1 which is 4 days ahead of what I thought so EDD is November 8th :) baby kept wriggling and twitching, was great being a bit further along actually as it was a bit bigger! My instinct is still saying boy but couldn't get a good look to test the nub theory!

AyeAmarok · 11/05/2016 12:57

Yay Jade Smile Great news!

FuzzyOwl · 11/05/2016 15:51

Great news Jade and glad to hear no bleeding smells.

I seem to have lost the bump I did have and my awful headaches have gone. Both perfectly normal things to happen, but obviously I have now gone back to be terrified something has happened. I absolutely hate how anxious pregnancy is!

smellsofelderberries · 11/05/2016 16:58

That's excellent news Jade!! I think quite a few of us have been put forward by 4 days at our scans.

Thanks newjob, I know I'm being silly! I have fairly decent stomach muscles so really shouldn't be surprised that nothing's happening yet!

Fuzzy, it's so hard to not worry isn't it? We're through the hard part though. My symptoms changed drastically from week to week and each time it meant exactly nothing in regards to how healthy the baby was/is. I went from being constipated to having the opposite, my skin was amazing for a few weeks and now every so often I get a cystic pimple (have two now Hmm), the list is endless! (I even started worrying when my spotting stopped a few weeks ago, I'm that sane Grin). Just hang in there Flowers

FuzzyOwl · 11/05/2016 17:43

Oh yes, cystic pimples! I definitely have those still. Nothing gets rid of them so I have resorted to consoling myself with chocolate. Blush

onthemetro · 11/05/2016 18:19

Hmm, woman at work who doesn't know is being really really weird about me lifting things. Beginning to feel paranoid that I'm showing more than I thought!

CakeAndChocolate · 11/05/2016 18:25

metro I'm definitely showing, but most of the Poole I work with are men so I'm hoping they just don't pay much attention! Anyway, my philosophy is that they can suspect but I won't confirm until I am ready.

Just read over the leaflet for my thrush medication and the doctor has prescribed the wrong bloody stuff so I'll have to go back tomorrow. Leaflet says you shouldn't use an applicator when pregnant and need the lower dose/longer course and she has prescribed the single use cream with an applicator. I'm pissed off. I've got a busy day tomorrow and I'll now have to take DS with me as well.

CakeAndChocolate · 11/05/2016 18:25

people not Poole!

Woody096 · 11/05/2016 19:43

Hi Ladies

Lovely news about the positive scans!

I have told work that I am pregnant. Today one colleague said he thought my stomach was rounder than usual and the other said I didn't look pregnant all, which was quite funny.

I am still suffering with spots, they last a few days, go down and then a few others pop up immediately! (rolls eyes)

Anyhow I am going to Vegas and LA next week (work trip for DH, holiday for me). What are your thoughts on sunbathing?. I have read that you shouldn't let your core temp get too hot, high factor and not to sunbathe for too long (which I don't plan to). I will follow that advice but any other advice would be appreciated x x

FuzzyOwl · 11/05/2016 20:26

Have a lovely time away Woody. I think you are more prone to burning when pregnant, but I also think we need to keep our vitamin d levels up (my midwife told me to take multivitamins throughout pregnancy purely for the vitamin d). I would enjoy the sunny weather, keep well hydrated and do what you already plan to do by not sunbathing for too long.

Cake how annoying. Would a phone call to your doctor suffice instead of having to go in for another appointment?

coppergrey · 11/05/2016 21:25

Hi Woody, I've just got back from California - didn't do any sunbathing (was in San Fran) but I did find I got hotter much quicker when walking around... and that was just in 20 degree sunshine. I also burnt immediately, just a little patch on my arms where the skin was exposed but definitely much faster than I would normally!

I'd echo Fuzzy's great advice and just take it easy, have breaks from the sun and drink lots of water. Have an amazing time!

JadeT2 · 11/05/2016 22:59

Thought I would attach the photo from the scan today! I've been thinking boy all along but I feel like the head looks more feminine - who knows!

I sat in the sun for a few hours on Saturday and definitely felt myself getting redder a lot quicker. I've seen advice to just take breaks in the shade and cover your bump when possible. We're looking at going away in the summer but will be 28-29 weeks at the time so not sure where best to go!

smellsofelderberries · 11/05/2016 23:04

Wow Jade that picture is so much detailed than mine! What a cutie!

coppergrey · 11/05/2016 23:21

Amazing photo, Jade! How exciting.

FuzzyOwl · 11/05/2016 23:47

Lovely picture Jade and probably the best quality/detailed one I have seen at this stage. I am going to guess boy because I have no idea and all my other predictions for other people have been for girls!

Bollyroo · 12/05/2016 07:29

Oh Jade that's just made me all emotional! Lovely!

Fedupithink · 12/05/2016 07:32

Oh Jade that's a fab scan!

I'm off on holiday in just under two weeks so I'll be 15+4-17 weeks while I'm away so the sun advice is useful thanks all!

I've got my 16 week midwife appointment in week 17 when I get back so had a call with her yesterday as I wanted to double check my booking blood results didn't show any issues before I head off.

I'm also thinking of booking a private scan for the day before we fly too just for some reassurance that at that point everything is (hopefully) ok.

My DH thinks this is all a bit over the top but I'm nervous as there is no hospital on the island (in Greece) just a medical centre and I had an awful MC last time which resulted in me being whisked off in an ambulance with a haemorrhage.

Reminds me - must confirm what's covered with my travel insurance! Will you take your notes to the USA Woody?

funkky · 12/05/2016 07:45

Had my scan last week and was told17 weeks pregnant. Due date now 17th October 10 days further along than initially calculated! DS was a 10lb10 baby and I am now worried this is another giant coming as there's nohow I was pregnant 17 weeks ago.
Anyway been referred to a consultant today as I will have to be monitored closely this time round as they don't want me overdue/ horrendous labour as last time.

Canters15 · 12/05/2016 07:53

Thought I'd pop back in here though have mainly been on fb group. I'm 12+3 now and have my scan tomorrow, the sickness has gone over the last few days thank goodness, so fingers crossed it stays away.

Lovely scan jade!

My 'bump' has gone down too so must have been all bloat. I still have a little tum but could probably wear my normal jeans again if I wanted to now.

Hope everyone is OK!

ElleSarcasmo · 12/05/2016 08:25

Gorgeous scan picture Jade! 1 week today until mine-it can't go quickly enough!

AlbusPercival · 12/05/2016 09:14

My tummy is still massive, running out of camouflaging but smart dresses.

AyeAmarok · 12/05/2016 09:47

Are you still running Albus? I'm absolutely enormous when I come in for a run and for an hour or two after. Belly huge and I look like a beached whale.

It seems to settle down a few hours later though and go back to just a little bump. Could it be that? I think you're 2 weeks further on than me so probably not much use comparing!
