Same fuzzy, at my booking in they said that it had to be before 14+2, anything up to that is fine. I know what you mean though I'm worried too.

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 08/05/2016 08:57

fuzzy did they give you the info about the screening with your notes at booking? I think it has dates that scans can be done from for the screenings. If not I'll check mine for you in a bit when I'm not taped under a 1 yo!

MrsStavrum · 08/05/2016 09:47

Hi everyone! I'm new to mumsnet and so pleased I found this thread. I am due 28th November. I have had 2 early scans due to bleeding and just over a week until my first official scan. I am terrified and excited in equal measure!
I hope everyone is doing ok. Thus is my first pregnancy and I had no idea it would be so hard! xx

INeedNewShoes · 08/05/2016 11:03

Welcome to the thread MrsStavrum

Are you me?! This is also my first pregnancy and I too have had two early scans due to bleeding and now I'm waiting for my 12-week scan on the 18th. And I've turned into a complete worry wart and will only be happy once I've had my scan and know everything is still ok.

Our only difference is that I'm not new to Mumsnet. In fact I waste spend far too much time on here!

Ameilius · 08/05/2016 11:30

fuzzy It's 14+2 (until the baby is 84mm long) You'll be fine, it's just irritating having to wait an extra week! Smile

Jamjar12 · 08/05/2016 12:00

I'm not you guys exactly Ineed and Mrs but apparently a cousin or somehow related haha. My scan is on the 17th and I'm due around the end of Nov too! This is my first pregnancy :) I had an early scan at 7 weeks just because I was impatient. Had a bit of bleeding at 10 weeks that freaked me out completely but has been put down to letting pesky DH convince me to have sex lol. Nothing since and I'm about 11+3 now so fingers crossed. I've been a huge worrier and pretty miserable with MS for the last month. I threw up 9 times yesterday, yay! On the plus side, I think my BMI is probably now in the healthy range as I've lost half a stone!

fuzzywuzzy · 08/05/2016 12:41

Mrs Stavrum welcome, I'm due around when you are too, 26th November according to my calculations, 28th according to booking in appt.

LittleGrey, thank you, you're right it's in the notes and apparently I'm fine for the early screening till 14 weeks. That's a relief!

Oh Jam, that must have been worrying. Were you told if you have to avoid sex for how long?
Got to say I've been slightly frightened about dtd too, I know it's irrational, but I can't help it.

I've got a scan tomorrow morning, it's part of a medical trial I'm on. Nervous and excited at the same time. I still don't feel pregnant.

Ameilius · 08/05/2016 13:05

Poor you jam! I think as long as it's not more than 5-10% of your weight you don't need to worry (I've lost half a stone too, but I was overweight before anyway). Are you keeping fluids down? That my MW gets really worried about and says that if you down drink/keep down more than 500ml in a day you need to go to the drs/call the MW. Sounds hell, you poor thing!

fuzzy What trial? Think it's so exciting with medical trials - I'd be so keen to be on one, especially if I got to have more scans! Hope it goes well.

fuzzywuzzy · 08/05/2016 13:34

Ameilius it's called the conceive trial and it's based in queen charlottes hospital, they're investigating pre-eclampsia and causes of miscarriage. I was given a clear blue advanced fertility monitor, and I get five extra scans.

I didn't conceive or rather didn't manage to carry my pregnancies past 6 weeks during the trial but I was still offered the extra scans.

FuzzyOwl · 08/05/2016 13:49

Hello and welcome MrsStavrum.

Such lovely weather today. I hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Ameilius · 08/05/2016 13:52

How nice of them to still give you the extra scans! My mum was telling me the other day that she was part on the trial that worked out the averages for the NT in the12wk scans. So exciting to think that in 25yrs things they learn now will be reducing miscarriages and helping conception.

needanewjob · 08/05/2016 19:28

15 weeks today and am fairly sure I'm feeling some tiny initial flutters! Midwife on Tuesday so hoping I may get to hear heartbeat

fuzzywuzzy · 08/05/2016 23:15

Needanew that's so exciting and just feel so amazing.

I'm so looking forwards to those first flutters, will make the pregnancy feel real :)

Jamjar12 · 09/05/2016 06:47

Fuzzy, I didn't have any medical advice to avoid sex but the midwife I spoke to said it was very likely just a result of that and is harmless. It's kind of put both of us off a bit now anyway! Plus my nausea isn't the biggest turn on! It's a shame because it was great sex last time but I don't want to chance it again until we've had our scan lol.*

Amelius*, yeah I'm literally drinking water constantly and I've managed to take my pre natal vitamins every day so I think I'm probably OK. Just makes me feel rubbish! Weekends are the worst because at least when I'm at work, I just get on with it. I kind of just mope about at weekends!!

Fedupithink · 09/05/2016 08:04

I hope everyone had a good weekend? Mine was lovely but busy so went to bed at 8.30 last night!

Today feels like another mini-milestone moment, I'm finally wearing my Baby on Board badge for the commute.

13+2 today and feeling soooo much better now. I hope those of you still suffering get some relief soon.

FuzzyOwl · 09/05/2016 09:36

How lovely need.

Hope people pay attention to the badge Fedup.

Not sure who has scans this week, but I hope they all go well.

smellsofelderberries · 09/05/2016 10:27

Snap Fedup! Put mine on for the first time on Saturday and feel like a right fraud with no obvious belly Grin

This time of year (with the gorgeous warm weather) makes me so ridiculously homesick, but I'm just starting to realise we'll be moving back to Aus in about 4 months! And then I panic about how much there is to do between now and then Shock

needanewjob · 09/05/2016 11:04

Oh but how lovely for a child to grow up in the sunshine smellsof we honeymooned in Australia and often deem about moving there

Bollyroo · 09/05/2016 11:37

Exciting new embarrassing symptom alert!

Nipples! Dry as and very sensitive today. Dr Goggle said massage with olive oil so I actually can't believe I'm sat here doing just that.

AlbusPercival · 09/05/2016 11:37

So hungry today! For days i have barely felt like eating at all, today I feel like I could eat all the food on earth :(

smellsofelderberries · 09/05/2016 11:43

Bolly, I've had the same. I'm using vitamin E oil on my belly and boobs every night as my nipples were getting flakey Blush

Albus I'm the same on days when I'm not feeling sick! Probably why I've already put on 2kgs Confused (I don't really care, gimme ALL the Cake and Chocolate)

Spottyladybird · 09/05/2016 12:00

AlbusPercival · 09/05/2016 12:08

You all seem to have got numbers for your screening risks.

i was only told "low risk" which when I asked I was told was defined as less than 1:150.

Did anyone else not get a number?

fuzzywuzzy · 09/05/2016 12:20

I'm going to bow out of this thread, I hd a scan today and my baby died at seven weeks, I should have been 11 + 1 today.

Good luck to you all, wishing you all happy healthy pregnancies.

FuzzyOwl · 09/05/2016 12:24

Oh fuzzy, I am so so sorry. Flowers
