shelb I'm with you! It's my biggest fear. My friend is due her girl a week before me and my cousin is due her girl the beginning of September. OHs best friend is due about 4 weeks before us, too. But his niece is called Amelia so there's no way he will steal it! Emilia is the only girls name we have both agreed on and it'll be sods law someone else takes it and we have a girl. We have chosen Harrison for a boy and fx no one pinches that either. Hope your OH pulls his finger out and apologises soon. The last thing you need is added stress.

Anyone else who doesn't mind sharing their names? I love name talk Smile

God potato! 23 weeks already? Is time dragging for you now you're in pain?

Mileymoocow · 30/04/2016 10:54

pink I get a tiny bit overwhelmed about it all. You have to name your very own tiny human that will live with your decision forever

Jamjar12 · 30/04/2016 10:59

DH and I are using that baby name app where you swipe left or right depending on whether you like the name and then it comes up with the matches- we've struggled to say names we both like but actually have quite a few in common on the app!

We will be keeping our final few ideas quiet as a friend of mine recently had an experience where she was pregnant at the same time as her sister, told her a name she was thinking of and then when her sister gave birth a few weeks before, she named the baby that name! My friend was devastated and the sister denied all knowledge that she'd been told their intended name. And it's too late once it's all been announced really! Isn't that awful?!

leoniethelioness · 30/04/2016 11:09

That's awful, jamjar! My sister is six weeks further along than me but has had names chosen since day one. We have different tastes so I think we'll be OK! She likes long names and I like short ones.

Miley Love Emilia and Harrison!

I think we've chosen Martha and Robin. We considered Rupert, Gabriel and Elliott seriously but I think Robin is the winner. Now to decide on middle names!

Co5mo · 30/04/2016 11:22

I love my veggie patch Potato. I'll be cutting my first asparagus of the season today. When you really get it going you'll get the satisfaction of eating everything you've grown.

Over bump mat jeans falling down here too but I might have bought the wrong size. Just ordering a swimsuit for my first aqua natal this week. Any tips on sizes?

Mileymoocow · 30/04/2016 11:24

I love love love Martha! And matilda but OH didn't want it as his exs mum was called Martha 😂 also I had elliot for a boy but someone on his football team he didn't like had that name. Siiiiigh.

It's surprising when you realise how many people you don't actually like when you're choosing names. I have a shortlist and I'm not 100% set on names but OH is I think.

God jam that's horrendous! I'd be absolutely fuming

StarkyTheDirewolf · 30/04/2016 11:29

Aww we've got such an odd bunch of names, ill have to collate a list properly and come back to y'all! We've had to start now as there are so many names which we can't use.

Pinklily1 · 30/04/2016 11:37

That's awful Jam. I'd be absolutely gutted - having to hear the name all the time would really rub it in!

Love Martha!

Cosmo, for the swimwear, I got mine from JoJo Maman Bebe and ordered a medium. I'm usually a size 10 but my pregnancy boobs are huge so I went up a size to accommodate them Blush I'd also ordered some swimwear from Mothercare which went back as I didn't like the pattern, but i ordered my pre pregnancy size and it fitted fine.

IndiX · 30/04/2016 11:59

Danni jungle book is amazing, we went to see it last week.

I love those name choices girls, I'm still deciding about a few but atm I love Arabella...i know Bella is really popular but I don't think Arabella is that common and Belle/Bella is only a nn. That's what I'm thinking atm, this may all change next week!

Feefeefs · 30/04/2016 12:56

DH and I decided girls and boys name about 3 years ago which is a bit strange in hindsight! Can't say as will out, boy same name as DH, girl my mothers and his grandmothers name! Takes one stress away I suppose

Mileymoocow · 30/04/2016 13:00

I'm trying to talk OH into Emilynn or elsie, too. Apparently I like names beginning with 'E'! I love Mason and Cameron for a boy as well, carrying on with the 'on' suffix. I think I have a type. Arabelle is beautiful Smile I love it, so pretty.

My dad is on his way round with the latest haul of baby stuff! I honestly have no idea where it's all going to go. Anyone else's family gone wild buying things? Plus my grandma and MIL have taken up knitting again and I'm gooey over baby cardigans

PotatosMum · 30/04/2016 13:28

Miley yup 23 weeks, this week, last week flew by because I was mostly unconscious Confused but I imagine it will start to drag if the pain drags on.

I can't say out name as OH has made me promise to keep it a secret. Plus the one person I mentioned it too before we decided on it didn't like it and I'm worried that lots of people will be a bit Hmm

Co5mo I grew up with lots of the family having veggie patches so it's like a rite of passage to have my own. Plus I think it will be nice for Potato to grow up helping to plant and stuff. I remember I was often sent out to pull up some carrots as a child and there's nothing like home grown strawberries... I might have to do them in baskets though.

Off to the hospital for my scan now. My side is really bothering me today so I'm absolutely dreading the car journey Sad

Nevlet · 30/04/2016 13:33

I can't join in all the name talk for girls... But we have a few boys names we like now.

Woodford (woody)
Denver (denny)
Reef
Railey (not sure on spelling)

I love Reef but a couple we know had a little boy in january and called him Reef so I am unsure on also using it

Laurenrl · 30/04/2016 13:51

Also terrified about the name thing. One of my best friends is due 5 weeks after me but its still possible it comes first (just) I'm hoping she will have a boy so I can stop worrying! Haha

PotatosMum · 30/04/2016 17:13

So, scan of the fibroid confirmed that it's breaking down. No idea how long the pain will last. It's also not getting any smaller just quietly rotting in there Hmm Potato is fine though. The type of scanner wasn't right to look at her but she showed us anyway Grin

Managed to do a drive by of the new house on the way home. I'm so excited, there are two parks within a five minute walk, a good primary school at the end of the road and big open green spaces all around Grin
we had DSD in the car who was insisting that there had better be children for her to meet and play with and has already conned her dad into taking her to get a build a bear for the new house tomorrow and then told me we'll need to get cage for the baby when it's a toddler so that it can't wander around breaking things when I'm busy in another room Hmm I think DSD will get a bit of a shock when we have the new house as she is very used to ruling the roost with her mum and her brother does suffer a lot of injustice because of it. I on the other hand won't have it and I certainly won't have Potato pushed around in her own home the way her brother is... That being said, I'm pretty sure that Potato being my child will mean that she'll hold her own against her overbearing sister with little help from me Wink in fact if she has her dads temper and my toughness I think we should all be a little bit scared lol

Evening ladies.

Having a rather shit day Sad have been in the mat unit all day had a sudden bleed just after lunch. Basically they have told me there's nothing much they can do as it's a bank holiday weekend and the epu doesn't open till Tuesday. There is no one able to scan me until Tuesdayand it is already fully booked anyway!! Can't believe in this day and age there is no help! The doc said if I were you in would just relax until your Thursday 12 we scan!! She checked my cervix and said it was firmly closed which is good but I did have a lot of blood in my vagina but it was probably old. It wasn't it was bright red and fresh. Have a lot of cramps but I'm hoping this is down the amount of prodding I took Confused. Home now and praying nothing comes of it. No idea if I could get a private scan on a holiday weekend? Sorry for the rant.

Everyone's names sound lovely. potato hope your pain eases soon x

Laurenrl · 30/04/2016 20:36

Peaches- I know the place I've been to twice do appointments same day and on weekend etc, it's Mitcham near London and there's another office in birmingham I believe. Don't worry too much though same thing happened to me and my baby is completely fine :)

Potato-a cage! Oh dear! Maybe she meant a travel cot play pen type thing? I'm sure your little one won't be pushed around though!

PotatosMum · 30/04/2016 20:59

That's awful Peaches but your cervix being tightly closed is a good sign.

Lauren yes she did mean a play pen but we just pointed out that it will be her home and she will be allowed to play and explore as she pleases.
I love my DSD but she is very spoilt and a bit of a bossy boots/bully and likes to be the centre of attention. She's always hitting and trying to bully her brother and then when she's told off she lies and says he did XYZ even if the whole thing was witnessed and I'm just getting more and more nervous that the weekends we have her will be hard work.
She already seems a little jealous or dismissive of the baby (depending on the context) so I'm just being worried over protective mum.

Thanks lauren potato. Trying not to get worked up. Just my luck for it to happen on a bank holiday weekend. I'm in Scotland. Iv tried to book a clinc online for monday but no luck everywhere is either full or closed. Will try again tomorrow hopefully get somewhere I can call rather than just online booking.

Laurenrl · 30/04/2016 21:52

Had lovely post this morning! My nans been knitting (ignore the cat he won't let us take any pictures if he's around without getting in it)

Hello. Just checking in to say thank you so much for your thoughts and messages of support. Means a lot. Unfortunately I had to have surgery and they removed the fallopian tube as well. I'm staying in hospital one more night and then home for a few weeks of recovery. They did reassure me that the other tube looks great and that both ovaries can use the same tube so my fertility won't be affected although my risk of an ectopic pregnancy is slightly higher. Focusing on getting myself way before trying to process the loss. You all have all my wishes and thoughts for your exciting times and just to reiterate I had no real ectopic symptoms although the pregnancy was already quite big so if any of you have any concerns please trust your instincts and make sure you get whatever care and reassurance you need.

Laurenrl · 30/04/2016 22:10

Thanks for checking in flash and make sure you rest up, thoughts are with you. I'm very sorry for what you've been through and wish you good luck in the future. 🌻🌹

Peaches8Posies · 30/04/2016 22:30

So sorry flash Flowers wish this whole process was as easy as we deserve x

BunchOfBobs · 01/05/2016 06:46

So sorry to hear that flash. Thanks for checking in. Be kind to yourself, and make sure you rest. I'm glad to hear your fertility is not affected. Thinking of you Flowers

shelbTa · 01/05/2016 07:40
