earlgrey its Obstetric Chlestasis. A prg ancy related liver disorder. My blood levels show i might have a a mild case so they are monitoring baby twice a week and checking my blood every week. If it rises I might have to be induced at 37 weeks. But we'll see. Smile

I'll need to check with my midwife at my 36 week appt about GBS. Didnt even know what it was. Thanks everyone for all the infornation.

Just started reading your baby week by week- feel a bit less panicked!

redtammy · 07/04/2016 22:37

Hello all, it's been a while but all caught up now. Just got back from our final (probably!) trip away pre-baby which was lovely. Now it is all starting to feel a bit more real, especially as a close friend just had a lovely little boy a month early.

For those also delighting in the joys of leg cramps I highly recommend a medicinal dose of irn-bru for the quinine. Or at least that is my excuse for a rather unexpected craving!

booked83 · 07/04/2016 22:38

Hi in new to mn and 31 weeks on Monday! This is my 3 rd my oldest is 9 n youngest 5!
Feel like I'm not going to know what to do it's been so long w been ttc for 3 yrs now so he is a blessing!

Rose2806 · 07/04/2016 23:22

I think I might be having my first braxton hicks this evening but not sure! The lower part of my bump went tight and my belly button was sucked in for about 30 seconds, and this happened around 4 times. Can anyone with more than me say whether they've had this before/ if it is braxton hicks or something else that I should be more concerned about!

earlgreydrinker · 08/04/2016 06:54

dolly that's one strong kick your baby has!
Hi booked, welcome!

MollieRos · 08/04/2016 07:00

That's really useful info on wireless monitors. I'll definitely speak to the midwife about being as active as possible.

Rose it may well be braxton hicks though your description is slightly different to what I experience- my bump goes very hard and round, and almost pointy in places- where the baby is kind of pokes out a bit. I haven't experienced my belly button being sucked in though. It just feels like all your muscles are tensing for around 30 seconds, then eases off. If you're concerned give your midwife a ring, but it does sound like it could well be BH. Hope they've eased off for you this morning.

dollydaydream84 · 08/04/2016 07:09

Rose that does sound like Braxton Hicks.i didn't have any with my first and had loads this time.

Hi booked! Are you having blue pink or yellow? :)

Someone mentioned having a big dose of antibiotics when babies gut flora is trying to stabilise, if it makes you feel better i had antibiotics for 12 weeks after having DD while breastfeeding and a massive dose before she was born and she was fine :)

Starting to wake up in the night with achy hips :(

29 weeks today!

LouLou030783 · 08/04/2016 07:15

Dolly I'm same although seems to be more my right side I can't believe how far we all are now it'd actually quite scary.

Think I'm more terrified this time because I've had a bleed with my son and a minor bleed with my daughter they want me consultant let blood near by just incase and medication to try to stop me bleeding so now I'm terrified about bleeding again even though was only minor 2nd time

emma85x · 08/04/2016 08:45

Morning ladies, I'm sorry to ask as I know this has been explained before but I can't find the info. How do I join the Facebook group? TIA

LouLou030783 · 08/04/2016 09:10

Emma I think one of us that are on it need to add you because it's a closed group I know someone had to add me as a friend then invite me to group then delete me from their personal account x

emma85x · 08/04/2016 09:12

Loulou, thank you. How can I message you my full name?!

emma85x · 08/04/2016 09:18

Sorry, one more question! I've seen loads of positive reviews of the Aldi Mamia nappies but my nearest Aldi is an hour away. Going to drive there today to stock up for the first month. How many nappies would you recommend getting? What sizes?! I think baby will be big! He's 95 centile. Would rather have too many than too few!!

LouLou030783 · 08/04/2016 09:35

I've sent u a pm on here, oh see I don't know bout stocking up on nappies because although they are good what if you absolutely hate them? Like some people love pampers but I detest them first size should still probably be fine on him x

JellyBaby26 · 08/04/2016 09:38

Emma I would get 2/3 size ones and 4/5 twos or maybe double that. They are so cheap it doesn't really matter! My dd was in twos for ages because she was so poorly and looked malnourished so someone with a normal baby may have a more accurate answer!

The pooing after and during every feed settles after a few weeks.

If you have loads left over you can always sell them on local baby selling pages.

emma85x · 08/04/2016 10:12

Thanks for the advice ladies. Much appreciated. I've read such good reviews on Which and other review sites, they seem an absolute bargain!

iamdivergent · 08/04/2016 10:31

I'm going to be using the aldi ones after I get through the 200 odd pampers my sister gave me - she's saved me a small fortune. She also gave me 24 packs of pampers sensitive wipes!

I've been on annual leave for a fortnight so back to work on Monday (booooo) on the plus side I have 7 weeks left at work before mat leave, 7 weeks sounds like lots but its only 36 working days which is nothing at all! I also have 1 day leave left to use before I go and I can get flexible time too as I work with local authority. It's all happening so fast now.

laughingGnomette · 08/04/2016 11:09

iamdivergent - don't forget the spring bank holiday! (If you get it off in your line of work) Grin

I found DS leaked terribly from different nappy brands at different sizes so bulk buying was a false economy until his growth rates slowed down. If you don't mind selling the ones you're not getting on with though it can be worth doing.

ILovePies · 08/04/2016 12:07

Could someone add me to the Facebook group too please? Smile
mollie definitely ask about wireless monitoring, I have requested it for my vbac as I want to be as active as Possible!

I personally wouldn't stock up too much on nappies as from previous experience we had loads left over! I'd get a few of each size then if you need more do another bulk buy!

strawberrypenguin · 08/04/2016 12:16

Second those saying don't buy too many nappies at once. It might take you a while to find which brand work for you. Huggies for example were useless with DS1 they leaked every time. We used sainsburys own brand in the end which worked well for him - but no guarantee they'll be the ones that work best this time- it depends on babies shape among other things.

mrsmugoo · 08/04/2016 12:18

I'd never even considered stockpiling nappies - I don't have the space to store them! I just buy them in my online grocery shopping weekly/fortnightly.

laughingGnomette · 08/04/2016 12:28

I'm off to Ikea tomorrow (with 3yo DS!) to get baby bits. Wish me luck, I think I'll need it!!!

dollydaydream84 · 08/04/2016 12:29

I agree about not stockpiling. Asda were the best for us for dealing with runny breast fed baby poo, no other nappy would contain it!! Pampers were better after DD was 1 as they fit her better than Asda then. Huggies leaked every time! Unless you get them really cheaply, I wouldn't bother stocking up x

mrsmugoo · 08/04/2016 12:41

I've just used pampers from birth to now - never had any leaks or problems with them. I used to use pampers baby dry overnight when DS was feeding in the night but now he sleeps through, just a normal active fit lasts him fine overnight.

Eastend2015 · 08/04/2016 14:20

I'm really struggling to do more than drink tea and eat chocolate today 😳 I really need to motivate myself but it's way too warm in our corner of the office so just staying awake is a struggle! We have complained several times but it seems to be one thing our firm isn't good at.
