Hi Soda!

Really pleased about your news Thurlow. Hopefully others will have the same response when they ask. Must be a huge relief.

pitter I have my booking appointment tomorrow when I will be 7+6. They put me in earlier than normal because the midwife is on holiday the following week. Excited to do something baby-related but also dreading an hour and a half in a room when I can barely sit up in bed today Confused

theAntsareMyFriends · 30/03/2016 11:21

welcome soda

pitter I'm having to wait until after 10 weeks for my booking appointment. Don't know if this is standard or I have a crap GP. This is my second baby so I think that make s a difference.

Is anyone here rhesus negative. I woke up in the middle of the night having a big panic. I had a CP in December and didn't even think about getting an anti-D shot. Now worried I should have and it might affect this baby. Does anyone know? I don't really want to contact my GP as you can never get through on the phone and when you do the receptionist will never let you talk to a GP. I've got a midwife appointment booked in 2 weeks so I could wait until then but if anyone thinks its more urgent I'll try to go sooner.

StarkyTheDirewolf · 30/03/2016 11:37

I haven't even phoned up the doctors yet. Was initially waiting to get to 6 weeks which I think is tomorrow but now I'm wondering about leaving it another week! Don't ask me why, I think i'm putting it off because it feels like tempting fate! And the longer I leave it, the less time ill have to wait between appointments I suppose!

I don't use Facebook at all, don't have an account! Came off it about 18 months ago, is there a lot of chatting going on over there? So I need to reactivate? 😀

pitterpatterrain · 30/03/2016 11:44

Thanks everyone! Will give them a call today then to check as I think I'm roughly 8-9 weeks at the moment

Starky I left it quite late last time and ended up with my booking after the scan at 14 weeks so was trying to be more on top of things this time! Grin

Summerblaze100 · 30/03/2016 11:50

I find I am better with the Facebook page as this thread moves too fast and I can put a face to a name.

I can never manage to keep up with this one but I am trying.

FuzzyOwl · 30/03/2016 12:37

No idea theAnts but we have a few people who will know in the group and hopefully one will be along soon to advise you. Could you ring the midwife number to check if in doubt and you want to avoid your GP surgery?

I put mine off as well Starky but glad it is done now and it means I can call with any concerns. I think some of us still post on here as well as Facebook but you should definitely reactivate and join us!

Does anyone know how early on your can feel movement? DD had an anterior placenta and I was well into the second trimester before I felt anything but I really do think I have felt movement already (8.5 weeks). Is that insanely early and is it just wind that I am getting optimistic about?

OP posts:
Thurlow · 30/03/2016 12:47

I think that's probably wind, Fuzzy Grin

I remember it starting about 15w-ish with DD.

Fedupithink · 30/03/2016 12:51

I am rhesus negative but as my DH is too I've never had the anti-D. I wasn't offere it after my MC as I think it's only if you injure yourself/actually give birth and the ok cents detaches to cause a wound but I may be wrong.

So pleased for you Jo!

Fedupithink · 30/03/2016 12:52

Sorry on my phone, I meant if the placenta detaches to cause an internal wound.

fuzzywuzzy · 30/03/2016 13:07

Fuzzyowl I think I felt movement with my DD2 at twelve weeks, it was soft flutters.

I don't think you can feel movement at eight weeks baby is the size of a strawberry (apparently according to one of my apps).

JoMalones · 30/03/2016 13:08

Hello, I'm feeling brave so could I please join the Facebook group? Thanks

JoMalones · 30/03/2016 13:09

Sorry, will pm - ignore me!!

RaeSkywalker · 30/03/2016 13:41

My boss has just text me to ask if I'm pregnant or if I'm off with a virus... Shock

theAntsareMyFriends · 30/03/2016 13:47

Thanks fedup, that's very useful and reassuring.

Thurlow · 30/03/2016 13:55

Ha! That's nice, Rae. Oh well, honesty is the best policy? And at least then they can't say anything about your sickness...

StarkyTheDirewolf · 30/03/2016 13:59

I think I'd text back with "why?! do you think I've put on weight?!" Or "well im shitting through the eye of a needle if you must know the ins and outs of me being off" I think that's incredible rude of them tbh rae s/he's put you in a position now, what will you say?

RaeSkywalker · 30/03/2016 14:01

I just don't want to tell them over text Thurlow. DH works there too so if it carries on I'll ask him to tell them. I'm annoyed, it's really stressed me out and I'm not well at all today Sad

RaeSkywalker · 30/03/2016 14:05

Starky I just listed my symptoms. They replied saying 'yes, but is it viral?'

I've replied back saying I feel as bad as I did when I had norovirus (which is true). Not sure I've done the right thing but I do think they don't need to know- my GP has signed me off with severe vomiting, that should be enough. Plus I think it would be unprofessional of me to announce it over text. I want to have a meeting when I go back and tell them then. I don't think they'll be surprised but I'd rather be in control of the situation.

RaeSkywalker · 30/03/2016 14:05

Wish I'd used your response instead though! Wink

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 30/03/2016 15:11

That's a rubbish thing for them to do Rae! I don't know what I'd do in that situation.

I'm all booked in. Been told to call the hospital if I don't have a scan appt within the week! Sadly I'm going to be consultant led this time due to post-partum thyroiditis that's done permanent damage, but as I didn't want a home birth and am happy at the hospital it's not too much of a big deal. Midwife was great and has also referred me for physio for the back problems caused by my last labour.

onthemetro · 30/03/2016 15:28

Wow Rae that's really shit! I think I'd be pretty upset if that was my boss and I'd have no idea how to respond, so I think your replies have been fair and I don't blame you for wanting to be in control of the situation!

RaeSkywalker · 30/03/2016 15:47

LittleGrey good news about the scan! Thanks onthemetro. I think I'm going to have to tell them tomorrow- I'm just going to worry otherwise.

CakeAndChocolate · 30/03/2016 16:00

Hi, haven't been on here for ages, mainly using FB, this thread moves fast!

I'm going to be having an ELCS so assuming dates stay the same and baby makes it will hopefully be end of Oct. haven't told midwife/consultant this yet but can't imagine it will be a problem. Had a CS with DS. FuzzyO really hope you don't have to fight for yours.

Had a 2 hour nap this afternoon and still feel shattered. I'm not sleeping well at all and having really vivid random dreams when I do sleep. I feel crap from 10am-2am, nauseous (although not actually sick thankfully), bloated to the point of looking 4/5 months pregnant, heartburn and tight chest/throat. Also getting dizzy even more easily than normal and often get tunnel vision/blackout when standing up (not even quickly). All I do is whinge and moan to my DH-he's a lucky man Wink

twohearts · 30/03/2016 16:13

Hi all - joining in as I'm about 7 weeks along (due on 17 Nov according to NHS pregnancy calendar). This will be my 2nd child and we haven't told anyone yet since it's early days.

I was one of those crazy exercise moms (oh yeah, I'm also North American, hence "mom" not "mum") during my first pregnancy, in the gym on my due date, etc and STILL gained 40 lbs but lost it all 4 weeks after delivery.

Don't really have time to exercise as much this pregnancy, but hoping to gain less this time round by being more mindful of how much I eat.

WeazerSqueazer · 30/03/2016 16:23

Hi all,

Been away for a few days and lots to catch up on.
Was at a wedding on Sunday where my daughter and I both picked up a vomiting bug...18 hours of being sick. Felt better this morning - in terms of virus and associated stomach pains has gone, but have been sick 6 times today, can't keep anything down. Sadly am only 6+2 today and know it (can) get worse from experience.. 😔

Will give hula hoops a try, feeling constantly sick.

Have midwife booking in appointment tomorrow, which I'm looking forward to.
