Welcome, twohearts!

Hope you achieve your aim. I'm hoping to loose a bit of weight too, once the nausea passes, I had some I needed to lose before I fell pregnant anyway. I'm not a good eater or exerciser naturally, so I'm hoping just being good will do it for me.

On which note, I've just rediscovered Chipsticks and they are AMAZING.

CakeAndChocolate · 30/03/2016 16:26

Welcome twohearts. I wish I could exercise. I really want to get on the treadmill, even if it's just for a bit of a powerwalk, but I just feel rubbish. I kept a diary during my last pg and looked back to see I started to feel a bit better around 14 weeks so fingers crossed I can do a bit more then (or sooner). I am also eating every refined carb in sight Smile so I am in awe of your exercise/healthy eating!

RaeSkywalker · 30/03/2016 16:39

Hi twohearts!

I love exercise. I do spinning and Body Pump mostly, and started running in January. However I was hit by HG last Thursday and can now do precisely nothing which makes me a little sad. I am in awe of your exercise levels in your last pregnancy!

twohearts · 30/03/2016 16:40

Thanks, Thurlow and CakeAndChocolate!

Glad to be here, meet y'all and share our experiences of pregnancy. Nice to have babies in November when we can all wear layers in the cold weather ;)

In terms of workouts, a really easy and fun DVD which I loved during my first pregnancy was "10 Minute Prenatal Pilates" (available on Amazon UK). It's a series of simple 10-minute pilates exercises that aren't too demanding but make you feel really good after you've done them! So if you're looking for something low-impact, I recommend it.

I have actually signed up to train as a pregnancy yoga teacher next month. Figure it'll be a useful qualification to obtain whilst pregnant ;)

twohearts · 30/03/2016 16:42

Hi RaeSkywalker - so sorry to hear about your HG :(

Hope it passes soon after 1st trimester.

Thurlow · 30/03/2016 16:55

Oh, Weazer, that's just rubbish Sad Hope it passes and you start to feel a bit better soon.

AlbusPercival · 30/03/2016 17:02

Fuck, I just ate some feta

Thurlow · 30/03/2016 17:12

It's alright, Albus, feta is perfectly fine - www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/pages/foods-to-avoid-pregnant.aspx

AlbusPercival · 30/03/2016 17:13

If it's pasteurised but there is no reference to pateurisation on pack

RaeSkywalker · 30/03/2016 17:17

Thanks twohearts. Hopefully it will go soon Sad

Albus I accidentally ate Brie when I was 5 weeks. Very upset initially but now I kind of think what's done is done. Maybe mention it to your midwife, and keep an eye out for dodgy symptoms?

Thurlow · 30/03/2016 17:19

The issue with things like the uncooked meats and unpasteurised cheese is not that they are themselves inherently bad for the baby, rather that they have an increased risk of passing on listeria.

RaeSkywalker · 30/03/2016 17:28

Exactly Thurlow- there were surprisingly few listeria cases in the UK in the last couple of years as well. Obviously I won't be doing it again, but I'm not beating myself up about it anymore. Albus it's awful when you first realise,Flowers for you.

Thurlow · 30/03/2016 17:35

Sorry, I wrote that far to flippantly. I meant that as Rae says, listeria is incredibly rare in the UK. Very few people any of us know will have had an illness contracted from uncured meats or unpasteurised cheese. However, because the illness is not very good to have when pregnant, it is best practice to try and avoid the things that have this increased risk. But they are not inherently bad in themselves. It's just like increasing your food hygiene and that at home, and trying to avoid catching the norovirus and things like that. It's just because a bit more cautious when pregnant.

Please don't worry too much Flowers

Thurlow · 30/03/2016 17:42

it's good to be a bit more cautious

findingmyfeet12 · 30/03/2016 19:18

Hello everyone hope you're having a good evening.

I've been having a sharp pulling feeling in my belly button over the last couple of days. I had it very early on as well. It's pretty unpleasant but not agonising and only lasts a second each time.

Has anyone had anything similar?

FuzzyOwl · 30/03/2016 19:21

finding I keep getting a sharp pulling feeling a few inches from my belly button. It almost feels like something is stuck on inside and is being pulled but I assumed it is the muscles expanding.

OP posts:
findingmyfeet12 · 30/03/2016 19:28

It seems to be through the middle of my belly button. It's quite uncomfortable. I'm off to google it.

FuzzyOwl · 30/03/2016 19:35

Let me know if you find out anything finding.

OP posts:
findingmyfeet12 · 30/03/2016 20:17

Lots of info about soreness or tenderness near the belly button being a normal response to stretching of the muscles.

I'm not sure mine is quite like that as it's not sore to touch. I'll see how I get on over the next couple of days.

FuzzyOwl · 30/03/2016 20:21

Mine isn't to touch either and only lasts for a short amount of time but longer than a second.

My only symptoms are cramping or stretching related and I am still too scared to go for an early scan. I know this is stupid of me and I really need to do something.

findingmyfeet12 · 30/03/2016 20:22

Have you got any breast tenderness or heartburn at all Fuzzy?

These were my main symptoms at first (as well as lots and lots of wind!)

FuzzyOwl · 30/03/2016 20:30

No breast tenderness at all, even though I keep grabbing myself really hard to try and conjure some up! I did have occasional mild heartburn but not now. I really do need to stop being so silly and go for a scan, especially since my last mmc showed the baby had died about nine weeks before my scan and I hadn't bled at all.

OP posts:
KleineDracheKokosnuss · 30/03/2016 20:47

Place marking

fuzzywuzzy · 30/03/2016 20:59

FuzzyO, I don't feel breast tenderness either, unless I've been wearing a bra all day and when I take it off it really hurts.
Think about getting an early scan just to put your mind at rest.

I now have a GP appointment for next Thursday and my first scan booked for next Friday.

I also have no symptoms just very tired. Also on knicker watch as more cm than normal. What point do we stop worrying?

FuzzyOwl · 30/03/2016 21:05

I stopped worrying at 32 weeks last time fuzzy! Bizarrely not having breast tenderness doesn't concern me so much as I didn't have any at all with DD and an unbearable amount with my mmc. You're right; I really do need to go for an early scan.
