I had a chip butty for tea and let me tell you, it was fantastic. My carb intake is absolutely out of control though, so from tomorrow I'm gonna try get a handle on it.

I don't live in London but I have an all-day meeting there next week and am slightly dreading it. I'm going down on the train with clients who don't know I'm pregnant so will have to hide it all day, on rush hour tubes and packed trains! Hideous.

almondbutter · 08/04/2016 20:55

Thanks everyone for the moral support (made it to dinner without puking in the Uber) and love to those feeling rubbish this eve. Props to anyone getting some veg down.

Thurlow, I am looking forward to getting my badge but am paranoid about bumping into an acquaintance. While my mum doesn't yet know I'd be really sad if a uni pal from ten years back found out first because of my badge. Maybe silly since it could get me a seat...

I have had friends not be offered seats and vom into bags while standing up; how horrid. I bought some of those Amazon gel bags just in case.

zoomtothespoon · 08/04/2016 21:15

How many of us had pizza tonight? After being good all week I had a vegi volcano dominos, 3 of my sons Reece's peanut butter bunnies and a scone Grin

zoomtothespoon · 08/04/2016 21:17

Oh and pregnancy and public transport is hideous. Lucky I don't have to do it this time.

With #1 I used to have to get the met line to kings cross and back home, morning wasn't too bad but the journey home was awful, I used to never be offered a seat and in the summer the train would be stuck in a tunnel for ages. I used to have to pee the second I got out the station Sad

With DC2 I had to get the met and the jubilee to Waterloo and was also on crutches due to a problematic knee, no one would offer me a seat. Even if I asked 'can anyone please offer me a seat?' I would still be largely ignored!

fuzzywuzzy · 08/04/2016 21:31

I'm craving red meat and bitter orange juice. We also had pizza this evening and I felt nauseous and didn't want to eat it.

FuzzyO my next scan is when I will 10 weeks (actually will be just eleven) touch wood, so it's a little over four weeks.

Also very tired. But it's been a crazy week.

FuzzyOwl · 08/04/2016 21:31

I am so glad that I am on maternity leave so don't need to worry about travelling and work. Really hope those of you with horrible commutes have considerate passengers on your trains who give you seats.

We almost had pizza. DH was clearly about to be swayed but then he said I had to collect it! Confused We had a nice and easy to cook pasta bake instead. Grin

Hi, I thought I'd tentatively join this thread. I'm 7 weeks (I think) with my first after a traumatic ectopic in December. Had early scan through EPU when I was 5+6 which confirmed pregnancy in right place but no yolk sac/ heartbeat. The thinking was it was too early so I go back next Thursday. Keeping everything crossed for then but did another test today which was strong positive and I have a few symptoms. Can't quite begin to get excited yet, but here's hoping!

FuzzyOwl · 08/04/2016 23:02

Welcome MrsK and fingers tightly crossed for you for Thursday.

Welcome MrsK Smile

Well I've had a fun evening of vomiting. Started off while driving home from work on the motorway and started to heave, tried really hard to curb it but ended up vomiting all down myself in the car. Couldn't pull over so just had to keep going. Yuck.

Then got home. Clothes in washing machine and fell asleep for hours, woke up and vomited again. Bleurgh!

JadeT2 · 09/04/2016 01:31

Glad I'm not the only one struggling with a a balanced diet... I work in a restaurant so I eat there 5 times a week. Starting to run out of healthy options from our menu now though so I'm mostly surviving off hot dogs and fries Blush I was sick this morning before I'd managed to eat or drink anything, it's awful isn't it :(

I've got my fingers crossed that we all power through the sickness to the wonderful glowing pregnancy stages!

AlbusPercival · 09/04/2016 06:49

I'm not sick thankfully. But my hair is ruined. It looks so dry and split and frizzy. If I condition and brush it its fine but come lunchtime it looks bloody awful again

almondbutter · 09/04/2016 07:34

aye that sounds grim, poor you. Maybe invest in some of the gel sick bags and keep them in the car, assuming next time you can pull over? Just put 'gel sick bags' or something similarly glam into Amazon and they'll pop up.

Hi there MrsK, fingers crossed for your next scan.

BeedlesPineNeedles · 09/04/2016 07:37

Oh aye how horrible for you. Hope you feel a bit better soon and the car recovers as well!

Welcome mrsk fingers crossed for a good scan next week.

I was out last night until 11pm - woohoo late night. DP even came and picked me up so I didn't have to get public transport or pay huge amounts for a cab. I am also proud that I ate vegetables and fruit and turned down the wine. My friends red wine did smell nice, but I stuck to my lemonade!

FuzzyOwl · 09/04/2016 08:39

That sounds horrible Aye and Jade.

Well done Beedles.

I still have no nausea or general other symptoms. Insomnia, anxiety and diarrheoa are pretty much constants though.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

lemonshizzle we must live really near to each other Smile

copper it's only breakfast time and I'm planning a chip butty for lunch, you've inspired me! Going to get proper cheap white bread and bag of chip shop chips. I realise how sad it is that I'm fantasising about this....!

How is everyone feeling? So nauseous and tired at the moment. We have no plans for the weekend so I'm hoping for lots of sofa time with DD, Netflix and the duvet. 7 weeks today and apparently the baby is now raspberry sized!

AyeAmarok · 09/04/2016 09:21

MoreCake I've just read the Corrie joke thread about chippy scallops (which in the north of England apparently means potato fritters, not fish!) and then read about your chip butty and am now drooling! I might join you on that!

almond gel sick bags do sound equally glam and necessary I think! Thanks. DP has suggested keeping Vicks in the car to sniff to take my mind off it. Not sure about that working but worth a go too I suppose!

bobcat85 · 09/04/2016 09:31

Welcome Mrsk and good luck for the scan.

Your weekend plans sound great MoreCake.

Managed to eat a big salad yesterday but ate 4 mini milks afterwards hehe. Should probably do some cleaning soon as I've been so tired I haven't been in the mood for hoovering but we've got people coming over this evening.

MoreCakeMoreCake · 09/04/2016 09:37

aye we can compare chip butty notes later!
Vicks sounds like a good idea - I also had a little bottle of peppermint oil when pg with DD. Really refreshing and zingy - I used to keep it in my bag to sniff whenever I felt dodgy.

Good work on the salad and cleaning bobcat - our house is going to shite at the moment but I just don't have the energy!

almondbutter · 09/04/2016 09:39

Aye your DP is right with the Vick's; I have a tiny make up pot of VapoRub in my bag that I use for headaches and nausea (and used to use for insect bites when I lived abroad). That stuff is miraculous.
I have also bought a small bottle of a really clean, lemony scent and have that in my bag for smelly Tube journeys and similar.

AyeAmarok · 09/04/2016 09:55

OK, I'll go apologise to him for the Hmm face I gave him at the suggestion!

Jamjar12 · 09/04/2016 10:12

You guys have made me really crave a chip butty! How weird! My husband went to shower and left me in bed moaning about feeling sick. When he came back in, I was googling when our local chippy opens!

Or I might have a Papa Johns pizza. Carbs....mmmmm....

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 09/04/2016 10:56

CARBS are so the way forward at the moment aren't they?! Yesterday all I wanted was a shop-bought chicken salad sandwich and we went to TWO supermarkets and couldn't find one. I'm still sulking now!!

LemonShizzleCake · 09/04/2016 12:19

OMG DH is off on a stag weekend so I am totally unsupervised and he's not here to judge me...I am DEFINITELY heading to the chip shop for lunch!

Glad you're feeling better, Aye, your journey sounds grim Sad Hope the vicks does the trick in future!

Jamjar12 · 09/04/2016 14:05

Papa Johns was amazing. Half a large All the Meats pizza, jalapeño cheesy bites and garlic twists. And then half a giant warm chocolate cookie.

I'm now lying on the sofa in a food induced coma watching TV.
