ChatEnOeuf · 04/04/2016 14:05

Yep, non-identical twins run on the maternal line (I've got the family and personal history...eek), identical twins are a freak of nature :)

Thurlow that sounds hard work - I've done 8-9h days with 80-minutes each way commuting, it's a complete shitter. Never while pregnant, just with a poor sleeper DD so I partly feel your pain. I'm now on a much more manageable 30-minute commute but the shifts are harder. Haven't done a set of nights with this nausea yet...that'll be fun!

Thurlow · 04/04/2016 14:08

God, chat, nights?! Shock Hope they go ok!

StarkyTheDirewolf · 04/04/2016 14:12

I've not been posting because I just don't feel pregnant either! Aside from being ravenous and possibly slightly off colour when I'm hungry. My boobs come and go with soreness. But nowt else really.

I keep saying it but if I didn't know I was pregnant (and keep doing tests) then I wouldn't guess at all. I'm not going to settle with it until I've had the scan. I don't even believe I am pregnant anymore. We keep joking that I'm not up the duff, I've just got worms because im so hungry...so now the baby that I don't believe is there is nicknamed 'Tapeworm" I'm going to be an appalling mother lol

Thurlow · 04/04/2016 14:15

Don't worry, Starky, DD was The Parasite for most of the 9 months Grin

RattieOfCatan · 04/04/2016 14:26

I'm marking my place. I've been struggling to keep up with the thread but have been posting on the FB group. I'm so tired at the moment. DH was ill last week and he's working today/tomorrow and the rats all need cleaning out and I just can't bring myself to start as I know I'll lose energy halfway through and/or forget to put food/water back in the cages. I also need to clean the kitchen and clean the bath. And do the batch cooking I was supposed to do today.

I'm glad I have this week off!

AlbusPercival · 04/04/2016 14:51

I am utterly exhausted and ravenous too.

Literally can't stop eating, at least I managed to get a run in on my lunch break.

Will go to bed at 5, working from home and DH out tonight.

Out all day in London tomorrow. Theatre tomorrow night, hope I don't fall asleep there!

Canters15 · 04/04/2016 16:12

Midwife just phoned and got booking in app in a couple of weeks! I have my early scan this weekend too, quite nervous about it.

My mum is a (non identical) twin so my husband keeps winding me up that I am carrying twins. I'm not sure I could cope. One seems quite enough work! Husband thinks it would be brilliant because he could go and get a vasectomy straight after....I said I'd do the bloody vasectomy myself with no anaesthetic!

Nausea hasnt been so bad today after winging this morning, of course I am worried now. I wish I could just relax and enjoy the ride.

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 04/04/2016 17:49

My mum's an identical twin but her twin has non-identical twins so I could well have inherited the possibility!!

Fedupithink · 04/04/2016 17:52

Albus you managed a run?!!! Shock

I haven't even been able to walk any further than absolutely necessary, I'm so jealous! Good for you though!

AlbusPercival · 04/04/2016 17:59

Im doing a variant of c25k I started before I knew I was pg Fed very sympathetic trainer and midwife said it was safe so figured I should plough on. Have very high bmi, so hopefully it should help.

coppergrey · 04/04/2016 18:21

almondbutter (and anyone else who's interested!), I started a separate thread for self-employed pregnant people - www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/2607078-Self-employed-and-pregnant. Rather than take up this thread with freelancer chat, I thought we could do it there! Smile

RattieOfCatan · 04/04/2016 18:24

Shock I could barely manage to walk to the children's centre for my appointment today! I couldn't run.

onthemetro · 04/04/2016 18:30

In awe of anyone doing any type of exercise Grin DP & I keep trying to go for walks but I get to the end of the road and have to turn back because I feel too dizzy and sick to continue!

Twinklelittlestar1 · 04/04/2016 19:34

Hi everyone,

Sounds like a lot of us are going through it atm! I'm so naive, I really had no idea it would be like this. I guess my only real reference is pregnant women in movies (have no female relatives of age and I'm the first of my close friendship group to get pregnant) pregnant women in movies are always so carefree and radiant, painting their nurseries, eating ice cream and buying their designer baby items. I feel lied to!

Spottyladybird · 04/04/2016 19:44

twinkle, last time for me I felt crap until 13 weeks then suddenly transformed so hopefully you'll be the same! Not true for everyone though.

My SIL felt great throughout both her pregnancies, the look on her face when I had to lie down was a picture!!

Spottyladybird · 04/04/2016 19:45

*lie down yesterday

Thurlow · 04/04/2016 19:48

And all those women on TV who don't realise they are pregnant - my god, if I hadn't know I was pregnant I'd have been at the doctors every day about the worst virus in the world I'm suffering from!

It really doesn't last for most women, Twinkle. The first few months are awful because you're growing the placenta as well.

FuzzyOwl · 04/04/2016 19:53

I have slept for four hours today which I am claiming as a symptom (although I do tend to be quite tired at the best of times).

Hope everyone starts to feel better soon.

findingmyfeet12 · 04/04/2016 20:46

Twinkle I totally agree. I feel as though I'm making meal of this pregnancy with how utterly exhausted I am.

I was totally wiped out by work today and I'm dreading tomorrow.

I scoffed a cheese and crisp sandwich and fell asleep after work and I woke up with horrific heartburn.

Katiekins90 · 04/04/2016 20:47

I've been lurking since the first thread but thought I'd join now.
I'm 9+5 days, I have my 12 week scan in exactly 3 weeks and it can't come quick enough.
This is my third pregnancy I have two boys 7 and 3. I thought I'd be a little less anxious this time around but if anything I'm a lot worse. I'm convinced I am going to go to my scan and be told I'm not even pregnant.
I've been lucky symptom wise I had a bit of nauseous last week but that seems to have past. I have sore nipples when taking on/off my bra and that's about it!
I'm pretty sure it's all bloating but I am already having to hide my "bump" when out and about as we have decided to hold off as long as we can before telling people.
Sorry for this long ramble all about myself!
Hope everyone's having a lovely relaxed evening, seen as I'm feeling brave I'm going ro request to join the Facebook page too!

Hello and welcome Katie! Look forward to seeing you on the Facebook page, don't worry we are a friendly bunch Smile

Tidythatmess · 04/04/2016 22:16

Hi everyone

I have been awol for a while as I have just been feeling so bloody exhausted!

All I do is eat eat eat so now feel fat and sluggish as well.

Had an early scan which was reassuring but am still waiting for appointment for 12 week scan, I am currently about 9 weeks 6 days.

No idea how those of you with long days at work are coping. I work from home (will have to join the other thread for some support).

It sounds like some of us are really having a hard time. I just can't wait until we tell people (currently haven't told anyone) because I am sick of trying to hide it.

FuzzyOwl · 04/04/2016 22:24

Hello and welcome Katie and we have the same wait for our scan. Smile

Hope tomorrow isn't too bad for you finding.

I am glad I don't have to worry about work at the moment Tidy. Even working from home would be tiring. Glad your early scan went well and hope you aren't waiting too long for your 12 week one.

Hi everyone, I've been lurking for a couple of weeks, but too neverous to post I case I jinx things. I'm 7+6days and this will be my first baby. I had an early scan last week and reassuringly got to see a heartbeat. :-)

This has been long awaited pregnancy for my DP and I, finally conceived via IVF. My only symptom at the moment is tiredness, extreme tiredness like the worst jet lag ever. Looking forward to chatting over the coming months!

FuzzyOwl · 04/04/2016 22:53

Tiredness seems to be all I have at the moment as well Leaning. Congratulations on your BFP and I am glad to hear you have already had a good scan. Will you be having a few more because of your IVF treatment?
