I couldn't post on last thread so hope everyone finds this one!

Great pic annaB and what a lucky girl having four big brothers! I always wanted a big brother and not just because I imagined he'd have cute friends

AnnaR hope you're feeling better now. And glad everyone else seems to be doing ok. I turned 17 weeks a couple of days ago and so so so thankful that I'm eventually feeling much better! Absolutely wiped out by the end of the day but able to eat more now so I think energy will be back soon Smile

DH is off today, yay! Family coming for lunch and the sun is out...happy days

Ahh thanks Grin

Yes, we're finding out, we're very impatient to know! Lol.

Have finally got a burst of energy this week and feel like I can properly face the world again. I think my OH has been practically drowning in housework Wink

Bobbycatz · 20/04/2016 20:39

Welcome Bumping

I've also been having pains under my bump/hip area, I'm worried that it's just going to get worse the bigger I get! I also seem to get frequent stitches under my bump (which has just started to pop).

0hCrepe · 20/04/2016 21:14

9 days till I find out! I've been getting pains down the sides of my hips and thighs too but I think it's from moving on to my side when I'm asleep- trying not to sleep on my back. Just had plans drawn up for an extension, not expecting it to be ready in time!

Vampishtortoise · 20/04/2016 22:16

I'm having the same pains as you crepe in my hips and thighs. A week tomorrow my scan, so excited now.

Dilligufdarling · 20/04/2016 22:31

Slight pain for me around the coccyx when I sit on a hard floor but not too bad.
The worst is coughing or sneezing while lying down - felt like I'd been stabbed on both sides today!

Has anyone felt much movement yet? I'm 17 +4 and have felt little flutters but nothing definite yet. They do say you recognise it earlier second time around and I felt DS at 20w exactly.

Dilligufdarling · 20/04/2016 22:33

And hi bumping!
Wonder if any of the. 3 of us will actually hit the due date Grin!

liberuna · 20/04/2016 22:33

I get the odd flutter Dilli but it may just be wind

Due a girl on 13/9 and starting to feel very out of breath! Currently on a night shift and miss my coffee so much...I'm a student nurse and a hca - seems to be quite a few nurses on this thread!

Annarose (look I've added you back on but you need to do your details!)

I've been feeling flutters and last night felt a few more 'obvious' movements.

I have little hope of this baby arriving in September. DS arrived 2 weeks after his EDD and he seemed to be ready then (I still maintain the final EDD was a week wrong to start with).

Oh, Crepe! You are one brave lady! It does sound pretty exciting though.

It seems we're execting a lot of baby girls (I may have missed boy announcements). Will you also find out the gender next week, Tortoise?

Welcome Wizard and Congratulations!
Do you prefer night to day shifts? I preferred nights when I was pregnant with DS. I had to actually nap during my breaks on day shifts otherwise I just wouldn't have made it haha

Annarose2014 · 21/04/2016 08:08

I prefer day shifts cos I have DS. No lie ins anymore you see. You can't catch up.

I had to break out my maternity tunic this week. I really did look a sight in my regular one with every button straining! The maternity one is too big obvs but at least it has the advantage that patients now realise I'm pregnant and not just tubby!

Putting on people's slippers is becoming my most loathed job, lol. The ground is so far down!

Annarose2014 · 21/04/2016 08:13

A question for 2nd timers - are you carrying different this time? I am, to a suprising extent. Last time nothing changed but my stomach - this time my boobs are hyoooooge and I have had to size up in bras, and I seem to be a size up all over! It's crap!

MrsCeee · 21/04/2016 08:46

Yes, Anna no time for lie-ins here either so I prefer day shifts at the moment!

I don't think I'm carrying any differently yet this time. I'm still all stomach but my face has definitely changed. I'm still holding out for a free boob job but so far, no changes there.

This is a conversation I had with DH last night..

Me: My face feels so fat!
DH: Yes, it does look bigger
Me: No, no, no. That's the wrong answer. Your answer shold be "You look pregnant and you're glowing and beautiful!" Nothing else.
DH: Oh. Well you said it and I was just taking your lead
Me: Really?! I already feel like a whale!
DH: In that case we'll need to buy an aquarium so you have somewhere comfortable to live. We might as well make some money out of you too....

YouAreAWizardHarry · 21/04/2016 13:29

I prefer nights as I work in Mental health so it's lower risk with less chance of violent incidents at night. But I used to do a shift on a 2 hour nap, now I need a good 8+ hours - lucky this is DC1!

All my patients just think I'm fat Grin

SockQueen · 21/04/2016 14:44

I prefer days as there's more people around; at night it's just me covering ICU and any referrals/A&E/resus calls, so it can be totally exhausting. Fortunately the bosses have agreed I can stop nights at 28 weeks, so I only have 6 night shifts to go!

sparklystars20 · 21/04/2016 16:07

mrsmceee - I'm sorry but I was laughing when I read your whale convo with your husband - we've had similar quips!! Blush Charming aren't they!

Hats off to all of you working shifts - I'm finding it hard enough to get a good sleep and I don't do shifts!

I had a 'surprise' filling this morn but unfortunately had a funny turn during & after the local anaesthetic so went to see GP this aft - blood pressure is low - but was nice of her (GP) to say 'you have a very neat bump' Smile Made me feel a little bit better!!!

Just added myself to this list as well

I've been quite lucky in that my manager has let me work at home a couple of times so I haven't had to struggle in when I'm really tired. But kudos to you shoft working ladies! My hats off to you indeed.

Hi all :) welcome to the newbies :)

I have had my 20 week scan today. She is definitely a girl following being told at 16 weeks she was...but I was abit sceptical because he seemed to rush the scan and I didn't see anything. But definitely saw girl parts today. All well and healthy thank goodness. Been out and got some outfits :). I've managed to get myself a job too, nightshifts, just waiting for my dbs coming back.

Hope everyone is ok.

Annarose2014 · 21/04/2016 18:20

So I was trying to add myself but inadvertently copied the whole page. Blush

Could someone add me please as I'm a bit afraid to try again?

Oh no, I'm sorry to hear about your funny turn, Sparkly I hope you're feeling a lot better now.

I'm relieved to hear I'm not the only one dragging my feet with exhaustion!

Congratulations on the job, Annabrooke!
Fantastic news about your scan too!

The weather has been Amazing today! Fingers crossed it stays like this for a lot longer.

Wow what a good day annabrooke - congratulations on two fronts! Smile

Had a day in London with DS, DH and my parents today and am totally shattered now! Don't remember feeling like this so early last time.
