I couldn't post on last thread so hope everyone finds this one!

Great pic annaB and what a lucky girl having four big brothers! I always wanted a big brother and not just because I imagined he'd have cute friends

AnnaR hope you're feeling better now. And glad everyone else seems to be doing ok. I turned 17 weeks a couple of days ago and so so so thankful that I'm eventually feeling much better! Absolutely wiped out by the end of the day but able to eat more now so I think energy will be back soon Smile

DH is off today, yay! Family coming for lunch and the sun is out...happy days

OMG congrats! My sympathies at having to have a section in the end though.

A friend of mine had her little girl at 31 weeks a couple of months ago and exactly the same, had to have feedng tube for a while etc, but now is home and is absolutely perfect! Its very heartening to hear positive stories - it reminds us how far along we are!

shabbychic1 · 20/07/2016 13:34

Congratulations Anna what a beautiful name too! Glad you're recovering well. Flowers

Hi everyone Smile just wanted to pop my head in and say hi, first time mumsnet poster here and due on 9th September.
I must say, commuting to London in this heat has been a nightmare and I'm running out of office-appropriate summer clothes, so I'm very happy to be starting my maternity leave in 3 weeks, when I will be able to happily sit around in a vest and a pair of granny pants all day!! Grin

QueenEnid · 21/07/2016 19:22

Hi insert.

Welcome :). I'm due 16th September and am first time mum too.

Get that countdown on the go! 3 weeks = 16 working days to go! X

DrWhy · 22/07/2016 02:10

Hi insert I'm due on the 8th September and am also looking forward to maternity leave in 3.5 weeks. I am very glad I live in Scotland right now, can't imagine how you are coping with the commute and sleeping in the heat.
I am pretty rubbish at checking in with and keeping up with this. thread but still awake tonight due to heartburn again. I guess I'll get a lot more middle of the night time to MN as things go on!

insertcleverusername · 22/07/2016 06:59

Thanks QueenEnid, 16 days sounds much better than 3 weeks!!

DrWhy, I wholeheartedly sympathise with the heartburn, I hope you finally managed to get to sleep!

I hope everyone is finding clever ways to sleep in the heat: I've taken to topping and tailing with DP as I can't tolerate his body heat and it would be cruel to banish him to the spare room!! Blush

DiamondInTheRuff · 22/07/2016 07:08

Hi all, I was on here a while ago under a different username. I'm 34+1 with a DD (already have a DS who is 3.5).

Huge congratulations Anna, so glad you and your DD are doing well.

I finish work on Tuesday (at about 10 am as I'm owed some hours). Can't wait to stop worrying about the job, but I'll miss my air conditioned office!

Not remotely prepared for this baby. Lots of other stuff going on and DH has pretty much checked out of life now so trying to sort it all on my own. Not easy in this heat, pregnant, anemic and with a 3 year old!

leoniethelioness · 22/07/2016 08:28

Congratulations, Anna

Please could I be invited to the Facebook group? I'm 30+2 today. Due 28 September.

Sharesinpampers · 22/07/2016 14:27

Haven't checked in for a few days and just seen the news! Congratulations on the birth of Arabella! Glad you're all doing well 😀

Congratulations Anna!

I think we should all give ourselves a pat on the back for surviving this heat...

Annabrooke90 · 22/07/2016 20:32

Thankyou everyone :)

sparklystars20 · 23/07/2016 07:27

Sorry to have a rant...
Went for my 34 week appointment with a consultant yesterday (not seen one before) - he was 45 mins late and not the one we were expecting to see (it was a locum but the one we were due to see was standing outside the room the whole time and he kept having to pop out to speak to her?!?!) It was a complete waste of time!!! He seemed to know less than me (which is nothing!!) and said they wouldn't do anything now and I had to come back for a scan and another consultant appointment at 36 weeks til they'd make a decision if I could be midwife led. Left feeling really deflated and like I'd wasted the NHS's time and resources as I could have just seen my midwife yesterday and had the consultant at 36 weeks?!
The rest of my care up until that has been brilliant but still feel a bit confused by yesterday!!
Anyhoo, hope you all have a lovely Saturday!

SewSlapdash · 23/07/2016 11:47

Hi all, I've been lurking. Please can I also be added to the Facebook group?

balalalala · 23/07/2016 12:00

How frustrating sparkly! Not what you needed I'm sure!

How's everyone getting on? I've developed stretch marks on my boobs :-( wasn't really expecting that. Otherwise mostly alright - just 4 more days of work!

shabbychic1 · 23/07/2016 15:56

I have them on my belly, I expected them as I got them as a teen, not too bothered about that- only DH sees my tummy nowadays! None on boobs- Hoping they're ok! But just keep telling. Yourself it'll be worth it! Smile

leoniethelioness · 23/07/2016 21:39

Yes, please let me know who to PM to get a FB invite.

Anna Hope baby Arabella is doing well xxx

Bobbycatz · 24/07/2016 09:32

How is everyone? I'm getting more accustomed to the weather, I just carry the fan around the house with me like a pet!

I can't quite tell what position baby is in but it's pretty uncomfortable I keep feeling large lumps under my ribs and to the side. I've got a doc appointment on Tuesday so I'm hoping they'll be able to tell me the position of the baby.

How is everyone getting on with baby names? I haven't given it a lot of thought recently but think that I should start firming up some first choices

31+2

Annarose2014 · 24/07/2016 11:02

We have had a name ever since we found out the gender - she'll be called Willow. Smile

Sharesinpampers · 24/07/2016 11:13

Willow is a lovely name. We're having a girl too but can't decide at all. I'm getting worried, my c-section is end of Aug so we really need to crack on!!

OP posts:
balalalala · 24/07/2016 11:45

I keep going round in circles with names. It just doesn't feel like we've found the right one yet! I have finally started packing my hospital bag - baby's stuff all sorted, just mine to do now!

Bobbycatz · 24/07/2016 12:15

Willow is a lovely name. I'm liking the name Erin or Olivia for a girl or Henry or Oliver for a boy. I'm a little worried that they are not that exciting and really popular but it's just sooo difficult to commit to anything, DH is not being helpful on the naming front!

Shares if you don't mind me asking, why are you having a section, have they given you a date?

What are people taking for clothes after birth? I've been wearing jeans mostly through pregnancy but I'm guessing I won't want to put jeans on after birth. Again with leggings I'm not sure if they'll feel too tight after? Way over thinking this I'm sure!
