I couldn't post on last thread so hope everyone finds this one!

Great pic annaB and what a lucky girl having four big brothers! I always wanted a big brother and not just because I imagined he'd have cute friends

AnnaR hope you're feeling better now. And glad everyone else seems to be doing ok. I turned 17 weeks a couple of days ago and so so so thankful that I'm eventually feeling much better! Absolutely wiped out by the end of the day but able to eat more now so I think energy will be back soon Smile

DH is off today, yay! Family coming for lunch and the sun is out...happy days

Thanks, have been told that I will only hear from them if there's a positive result, and by tomorrow afternoon at the latest.

Have also found out that midwifes can't do fit to fly certificates any more (mine did my last one 3 odd years ago). Thank goodness I managed to get a slot with the GP just in time, but I feel a bit bad using NHS resources when I'm perfectly well and just looking for a holiday!

Bobbycatz · 14/07/2016 22:37

Jealous of those that are already off or soon to start maternity leave! I'm getting more and more tired, I cannot wait until I go on leave. I'm just plodding along at the moment, have pretty much got everything for baby, I'm hoping to buy a few cardigans for baby in the next few weeks but everything in the shops are summer wear still. Has anyone ever gone to a next sale? I'm thinking about going to one just as something to do Blush but as we are team yellow I'm not sure if it will be worth it.

QueenEnid · 14/07/2016 23:03

Arborea my midwife signed my fit to fly form 2 weeks ago when I flew Ryanair x

Are any of you looking at nursing bras yet? I know it's quite early (31 weeks) but I've been really worried about getting a good bra that'll fit as so many don't go up to my size. If like me you're rather well endowed (even before the milk comes in Shock) and have been worrying about finding larger, not too ££ but good bras I've been on Hotmilk and got the Luminous nursing bra for £19.99 instead of £39.99 and the used the code Milkman20 for 20% off (I just googled Hotmilk discount codes) paid £16 and free p&p. I actually did this a couple of days ago and have just tried it on- I've upsized assuming the boobs will get bigger!). Just ordered another as I'm impressed by it. Phew- I was so worried about finding a reasonable bra. Ok it's not the underwired scaffolding I'm used to (no wires! Shock) but at least it seems to keep them reasonably in place. Now to find some nice plussize LONG nursing tops or dresses I can wear with leggings that don't cost the earth!

Womenareliketeabags · 15/07/2016 15:32

Another exhausted one here too! Only just over a week of work left and then it's constant 3 year old supervision

Annarose2014 · 15/07/2016 15:39

Bobby Next are excellent for sleep suits etc as they run very large so you get ages out of them. They also have unisex stuff in bright fun colours which is far better than the usual beige. Worth the price IMO. (Wouldn't bother with vests though as cheapie ones are just the same & they get shit on regardless)

For nursing bras I just used stretchy cheap sports bras. Blush I had to use serious breast pads 24/7 to absorb leakage and these felt secure. I just yoinked them down to feed. Comfy at night to sleep in with the breast pads too.

Nursing bras are terribly faffy with the clips. However I did have a couple from M&S for looking more respectable outside the house lol.

Arborea · 15/07/2016 20:12

Great tip Shabbychic: I got one too - figure I can sell on if it doesn't fit post partum.

shabbychic1 · 15/07/2016 22:01

I'm going to keep the tags on in case- though tbh I hope it does fit as it's the largest cup size! If not then I'll start crying and looking into converting my normal bras.

Bobbycatz · 16/07/2016 16:53

Just had my first stranger pregnancy comment. Lady said ooh you must be ready to drop, me no not due till sept, She was like ooh are you having twins??? Ahh no but thanks Hmm it strangely upset me more than I thought. I think it's because I know I've still got 10 weeks to go

30+1

Annarose2014 · 16/07/2016 17:23

I had that exact comment from a patient when I was about 20 weeks. I was pretty upset too. In hindsight I was half the size I am now so not sure what she was on about tbh. I have a theory that people simply forget how big women get towards the end, so when they see a "proper" bump they think that's as big as they get.

I almost fainted in the supermarket this morning. I really struggled to check out and when I got back to the car I had to sit there a while before I could drive off.

But it's a combo of a tough old pregnancy with low BP AND a horrendous night with a toddler with a filthy cold. Poor little mite didn't go to sleep till 5.30 this morning as was too bunged up. So DH & I are like zombies.

Luckily DS has low energy today so I don't have to be too energetic.

DH was reminding me that it'd be like this with a newborn but I think it'll be easier. You get a lot of energy back after birth. No more heartburn, no more wonky blood pressure, no more pelvic aches, no more dizziness.

I can't wait!

Please can I just have a moan? I'm so hot and sweaty in this heat and have a very limited wardrobe to cope with it, I'm literally sweating through everything!! Has anyone else found they can 'smell' themselves more at this point in Pregnancy? Gross! Asked DH and friends and they say they can't but I'm so aware! A good friend Dias she was the same with her pregnancy last year too, must be the hormones. Taking lots of showers but still, feel gross when out and about.Blush Now hoping it's not this hot in hospital after birth as I'll feel so stinky esp. with visitors Sad, at least I have 8 weeks to wait, should be cooler by then. Oh, AND I've woken up with a massive cold. Yep- feeling sorry for myself!

sparklystars20 · 18/07/2016 16:09

shabby I'm with you there Hmm
I hate being hot & sweaty and so paranoid that I smell!!
Also the pain and discomfort is getting pretty much unbearable to do anything so when I'm not in work I'm just sitting around feeling like a sweaty, hot, fat, lazy slob.
2 days officially left in work... Another few days after that to empty my classroom of all my belongings I'll need a transit van!! then I can sit around in shorts and a strappy top with feet in a cold bucket of water for 5 weeks!!

shabbychic1 · 18/07/2016 16:32

Sparkly that sounds great! I've just cut some mint and put it in a 5 lot Kilner drinks dispenser in the fridge with cold water for this evening and tomorrow- quite pleased with myself lol! Then had to sit down as I was sweating! I'm off already, so today I've had a shower then got back in light pjs and sat about sweating and feeling grim today, almost wish I g for the office as is has air on! Poor DH when he comes home as I look and feel gross!!! It took my whole car to get all my stuff from staff and classroom! Didn't realise I had so many (nice, expensive) books (that I don't want to leave for a year in case they get borrowed!). Feel the need to get a bucket for my feet tomorrow!!! Enjoy your last couple of days, relax- (I'm hoping your students have already finished?) Flowers

sparklystars20 · 18/07/2016 16:45

Oh well done on the drinks shabby! I've managed to remember to fill the ice trays up & put them in the freezer Grin

Little people don't finish 'til lunch time on Wed but they're helping me 'sort' the classroom as at least 60% of the room (storage baskets/units/resources/toys/books) are mine!! I will genuinely need to do several trips to/from school with the hubby to get everything as, like you, I'm sure if I leave it there it won't be there when I go back next year!!! I'm going to need a storage container on the drive for a year Blush

sparkleshine83 · 18/07/2016 17:45

I went for a fitting for bras and they strongly advised coming back at 38 weeks as they explained that 1) your cup size may increase sharply just before labour, and 2) your back size will change again when your bump drops...

In other news, who else is melting?! I'm boiling and eating ice lollies for breakfast... poor baby in there...

shabbychic1 · 18/07/2016 18:31

In melting! I ordered the bras as they're the largest they do (got normal back size and will add extenders if needed, as now). I really hope my cup doesn't go any bigger or I just don't know what I'll do! This heat isn't helping! Grin

Womenareliketeabags · 18/07/2016 21:28

I'm melting too! 13.5 hour shift today and I was so so so hot, sweaty, red, manky, smelly and generally vile. I hate it. Not working again til weekend now and then last shift is thankfully Monday. Starting to struggle working now especially in this heat.

Bobbycatz · 18/07/2016 21:29

I'm also a hot sticky mess, the heat!! Arghh. I feel like I'm huffing and puffing around a lot as well, not a good look.

Womenareliketeabags · 19/07/2016 18:37

Oh paddling pools! Got the 'pool' out in the garden this afternoon. It was bliss! How's everyone holding up in the heat??

Annabrooke90 · 19/07/2016 20:52

Hi all,

Thought i better update on here for those who are not on the Facebook group. Baby Arabella arrived last Tuesday at 31 weeks weighing 3ib 14. I started in labour the Friday before, they managed to delay it and stop it for 2 days whilst I got steriod injections. Full established labour started on the Tuesday after slow labour starting back up Sunday. Had to have an emergency csection in the end at 8cm due to complications.

She is doing really well, off all breathing help and is breathing alone, shes just on tube feeds for now until proper feeding can be established. She has lost a bit of weight (now 3ib 8) but that's to be expected. But she's perfectly healthy and beautiful :)

I hope everyone is doing ok.

0hCrepe · 19/07/2016 22:05

Wow! Congratulations! 💐👶🏼 I remember you said you thought she would be early. Sounds like she's doing really well. Lots of love to you and your family. Gosh our first birth on this thread! It's really happening!

Bobbycatz · 19/07/2016 22:31

Congratulations Anna I'm glad baby is going well, Arrabella is a lovely name. Hope your recovering well Flowers

Annabrooke90 · 20/07/2016 08:08

Thankyou :) yes it started to get rather obvious from 28 weeks that she most likely would be early, had started to lose bloody show etc. My family had only known for 2 weeks before she was born that I was pregnant. I am recovering well considering, and I am starting to feel human again 😂.

Danni89 · 20/07/2016 09:44

Congrats Anna!

Waves to everyone else!! Hope everyone is doing OK in this heat!
