I couldn't post on last thread so hope everyone finds this one!

Great pic annaB and what a lucky girl having four big brothers! I always wanted a big brother and not just because I imagined he'd have cute friends

AnnaR hope you're feeling better now. And glad everyone else seems to be doing ok. I turned 17 weeks a couple of days ago and so so so thankful that I'm eventually feeling much better! Absolutely wiped out by the end of the day but able to eat more now so I think energy will be back soon Smile

DH is off today, yay! Family coming for lunch and the sun is out...happy days

Can anyone recommend a (not too pricey) body pillow? I've had agonising back ache for last week and little sleep...

Seen a few on Amazon that are good value but would love to hear tried and tested opinions on ones you may own!

sparklystars20 · 11/07/2016 07:33

Hi all, so apparently I'm 33 weeks today Shock

I have a very wiggly baby - I'm pretty sure she's preparing for the olympics in there! Legs/feet seem to be constantly on the go!

Spd is not letting up and the last couple of nights my hips/legs have been very painful - seeing physio again Thurs so hopefully some more exercises will be given?

Re pregnancy cushion - I bought a 2nd hand Dreamgenii from eBay quite early in pregnancy and although it took a few nights to get used to, I love it!

1.5 weeks until we break up for summer hols so I'll kind of be on maternity leave in 10 days!!! (Apart from having to get a removal van to empty my classroom!) I'll be glad to stop from the physical point of view due to pain but think I'll be a bit bored with nothing to have to get up for every day Hmm

Have a lovely Monday all CakeBrewFlowers

Sharesinpampers · 11/07/2016 08:59

Hi Rosie I was getting sore back and hips at night. It would wake me up throughout the night. I bought a V shaped pillow (about £10 from Amazon, don't buy one cheaper - they aren't well filled) and sleep with it between my legs. Has made a lot of difference and I'm rarely woken now with pain.

I have a Dreamgenii from last time but didn't like it. Can't tell you why, everyone else loves it! Maybe I'm an odd shape Blush

Happy Monday everyone! Isn't it Anna? I'm very breathless and sweating like mad in this heat and humidity- feel gross. Just did half hour housework and had to sit down as I was sweating and breathless! BUT it really will be worth it! Also my friend said literally as soon as she gave birth her swollen cankles went down, woop I can't wait!! Off to sweat in the Mothercare outlet with my Dsil, have to remember I'm in a budget!! Grin

balalalala · 11/07/2016 11:53

rosie I didn't get on at all with the dream genii however bought the chicco pillow a couple of weeks ago from Amazon and much prefer it.

Annarose2014 · 11/07/2016 12:41

Dream genii does my nut. It's the bit at the back that's the problem - don't go near it if you toss and turn cos once that pillow is around you, it takes massive effort to reposition it.

I have a small sausage pillow from IKEA. At least when I move around it moves with me!

rosegoldie · 11/07/2016 17:13

Thanks for all the tips ladies! Has anyone tried a theraline one? It seems to have good reviews?

I'm definitely a tosser and turner so will steer clear of dream genii.

Think I'm going to buy something this evening online, I can't take the pain any longer! Especially when teamed with the humidity. Ick.

Womenareliketeabags · 11/07/2016 18:27

The humidity is getting to me too! It's awful. At times it makes me feel like I literally can not breathe!

No idea on pillows as I hate getting tangled in bed so the look of them has always put me off. I just shove a normal pillow in between my legs and it helps.

Anyone else getting seriously fed up of the 'my goodness your getting really big' 'how long have you got left, 8 weeks!?!? You'll be huge' 'I wouldn't want to have to carry that around all summer' comments. I don't know why people seem to think they all have a degree in bump sizes and what one should look like and how they know mine is 'big' no midwife has ever told me it's big or that my baby is measuring big. It's really starting to annoy me and because of the environment I work in I see lots of different people everyday and they all seem to want to comment on it. I'm considering pinning a notice to my top saying 'I'm 32 weeks. I don't know if it's a boy or a girl. Yes I'm fat'

rosegoldie · 12/07/2016 06:39

Yes I hate the comments too! Also been called 'fatty' by work colleague in jokey way but I was like....Shock

Quick q regarding 28wk bloods. I had these last week plus my second shot of anti d. I had my first shot of anti d in March after my CVS.

My blood results arrived in the post yesterday and it says 'antibody screen: positive'. Does this mean the anti d didn't work after my cvs and I'm not producing antibodies that will attack baby?

The letter did not mention anything specific to this result but I am panicking now incase it means baby could have rhesus disease, and if this is the case they should be contacting me and scheduling regular blood tests to monitor my level of antibodies...

I'm going to call them this morning as I'm feeling quite anxious. The cvs at the beginning of the pregnancy was an awful time and I thought I'd got past all the worry (cvs result was normal) and now this! Argh.

Anyone else experiencing anything similar or know more about it? I've opened a separate thread but didn't get any replies

rosegoldie · 12/07/2016 06:39

and I'm now producing antibodies*

sparklystars20 · 12/07/2016 08:13

rosie sorry to hear of your worries - I have no idea about these things but sending you Flowers for good news when you phone them this morn!

The last 2 weeks I have ballooned! (31/32/33 weeks) I was previously getting comments about how neat my bump was but recently people have stopped commenting they know I might cry if they say something about me now resembling a whale Blush I do find it funny how people do feel free to comment while pregnant when you would never otherwise comment on someone's size Hmm

Went to first NCT class last night and really enjoyed it! Super lovely instructor - very calm, lovely & funny but not at all 'hippy'/judgemental or presumptuous. Seemed like a super group of couples too!

shabbychic1 · 12/07/2016 15:35

Argh just had long chat with DM, who I love very much and SW helps out a lot etc and will be around a lot which will be great and v helpful. And she's trying to tell me to feed on schedule and allow LO to self soothe, not to allow cluster feeding etc. I explained the 'newer' guidelines and studies in why it's better to not do that, she agreed.... But I have a feeling she might have a lot of advise which is very out of date (as in 41 years!). Bless her, I'm not looking forward to having to keep explaining how things have changed, just hope she doesn't feel 'ignored' when I say I need to do things my way. She'll understand but I don't want to upset her. I'l just have to be sensitive and say 'no' nicely....

shabbychic1 · 12/07/2016 15:36

she not SW helps out a lot...

QueenEnid · 12/07/2016 20:51

Hi ladies Smile
Thought I'd posted here before but couldn't find an old post so perhaps baby brain has truly sank in!
I'm due 16th September and on team yellow.
Baby is kicking away now and I'm also starting to notice the tiredness a lot more. I finish work on 19th August so 28 working days and counting!
I'm starting to feel like I live at the hospital at the moment. I've been booked in for scans every week to monitor growth. I can't fault the care- the hospital are fantastic but I'm getting bored of going backwards and forwards! Woe is me.....!

Anyway hope everyone else's pregnancy is going well.....not long to go ladies! X

Annarose2014 · 13/07/2016 08:06

Welcome Enid.

What's the story with growth? Is baby very wee?

QueenEnid · 13/07/2016 10:21

Hi annarose

They're not sure. I think a combination of the fact that I had a scan at 20 weeks which put growth on middle plot line Then another 2 weeks later (to check fluid levels) which made it a bit bigger. (Potential mismeasurement). Then another 4 weeks later after seeing consultant which kept on same line so referred me for GTT. Then another scan 2 weeks ago which showed a small bleed. Scan last week showed growth back on middle line so they had me back yesterday to check water levels and bloods. Midwife measured bump at exactly where it should be 3 weeks ago. Going again today so fingers crossed she's still happy.

Small bleed now gone according to yesterday's scan but they couldn't take measurements as only a week since last ones so I'm back again next Tuesday to have measurements checked to see if it is genuinely going down the growth charts or if it was a mistake early on with the measuring which gave a false reading. Fingers crossed for that!

I'm under consultant led care due to an operation I had on my spine 3 years ago so they're keeping a close eye on me and I can't fault the care for that at all.

But today I'm just feeling a bit down about it all. I'm 31 weeks pregnant and I'll have had 4 scans, 1 midwife app and 3 consultant appointments in July alone. Work is undergoing lots of changes and the amount of politics within the place is frustrating when I'm not pregnant so I think is just adding to the pressure! I've rang in sick today. Think I need a few days to rest! X

QueenEnid · 13/07/2016 10:22

Oops meant to add that I didn't find out I was pregnant until 19+5 so it's been a whirlwind of appointments all in one go!

(Yes, I'm that person who can get pregnant and not even know!)

shabbychic1 · 13/07/2016 11:01

Queen my friend found out at 17 weeks, had lots of apts at once and now has a very healthy beautiful calm 1 old! She put ms down to a vomiting bug!

QueenEnid · 13/07/2016 11:32

shabbychic
I had no symptoms at all! No sickness, sore boobs, weight gain, bump or anything! Not had periods for years due to being on mini pill and was told to come off pill for a year before investigations for fertility would start. Only took a pregnancy test cus I was due to get referred! Doc thought maybe 8 weeks when he examined me after picking his jaw off the floor when I told him I was pg and my scan showed 20 weeks! Lol.

shabbychic1 · 13/07/2016 14:36

That's so wonderful- you missed ms and have less time to wait! Lucky! I bet you're so excited!! Flowers

Just had my regular midwife check, at 30+5 (have them every 2 weeks due to high risk of high bp) all good, GTT came back normal, iron normal (so the tiredness is just 3 trimester exhaustion, oh well it's worth it!) bp good and feeling great! Baby is still big, on the same trajectory above 100th centile, but mw says now we know I'm not diabetic it's fine, better bigger than smaller, if he's over 4.5kg they recommend feeding now longer than 3 hrs apart and they do a blood sugar test to check they haven't 'crashed' after birth when their is less access to nutrients and just not to buy any 'newborn' clothes, stick to the 0-3 month ones. Aw!! Smile

Arborea · 13/07/2016 21:38

How quickly do you get the GTT results? I'm having it tomorrow, and just wondering!

shabbychic1 · 13/07/2016 22:06

Had mine weds and was told if I hadn't heard anything by Mondayto assume it's ok as they're pretty hot on sorting you out if you have it for your health and baby's. Just happened to ask mw at apt today and she checked to say all ok. Hope it goes ok, take something to read!

QueenEnid · 14/07/2016 11:42

arborea i got mine within 48 hours

Morning ladies, hows the pregnancies going?
Im exhausted and have taken a few days off work to get some rest and am starting to feel a little more relaxed. Still plenty to do at home though!

shabbychic1 · 14/07/2016 19:31

I'm lucky I'm off now, but I'm really hot and sweaty and getting literally exhausted by the afternoon.

0hCrepe · 14/07/2016 19:42

One more day for me yippee! I'm knackered too but it's mainly due to the blinking dog waking me up early having weed all over the place...
