I couldn't post on last thread so hope everyone finds this one!

Great pic annaB and what a lucky girl having four big brothers! I always wanted a big brother and not just because I imagined he'd have cute friends

AnnaR hope you're feeling better now. And glad everyone else seems to be doing ok. I turned 17 weeks a couple of days ago and so so so thankful that I'm eventually feeling much better! Absolutely wiped out by the end of the day but able to eat more now so I think energy will be back soon Smile

DH is off today, yay! Family coming for lunch and the sun is out...happy days

My fundal height was 27.5 at 29+1 which was mildly below my 50th centile line.

Annarose2014 · 02/07/2016 17:06

shabby it's the Burts Bees baby balm. It lasts ages and it smells lovely and is generally lush. Though a bit grainy in the pot in cold weather but I don't mind that. But if you go into those Holland & Barrett type places there's quite a few options.

We do have a tub of sudocream just in case of scaldiness but tbh we never need to use it. Better to have it and not need it than the opposite though!

Babies have horrible skin when they're born too - particularly overdue ones. All scaly and flaky. You will need lashings of moisturising cream at first. Oh and don't get me started on cradle cap - we did all the natural remedies, none bloody worked, so in the end I cracked and lashed on some Head and Shoulders when he was about 3 months old! Blush It worked a charm, but I wasn't exactly boasting about it to all and sundry!

0hCrepe · 02/07/2016 18:44

I'm starting to feel tired again too, looking forward to finishing work in 2 weeks! Bought a snuzpod, mattress and sheets today and starting to imagine the little one in it! Packing a hospital bag seems so weird and far off!
I was measured most recently at 26 + 5 weeks and measured 28cm which was above my 90th centile line. Mw wasn't concerned at all and said the growth estimate is based on the scan. They just like to see it follow the same trajectory. I was quite surprised to see it was on the big side as every keeps saying how neat I am etc. I was actually starting to worry a bit! I've had the gtt before though as my half sister is diabetic. Next appointment is on Thursday for me, more blood tests etc I think.

shabbychic1 · 02/07/2016 21:00

Anna oh I love Burt's bees! I'll have a look, thinking of making some nappy cream from recipe too, will look into the bb cream and see if it's better to buy!! Grin

Womenareliketeabags · 03/07/2016 18:53

31 weeks today! Just got back today from a festival with DH and DS. Had a lovely time but I am absolutely exhausted, had a bath when I got back and I have since been firmly positioned in the sofa!

shabbychic1 · 04/07/2016 19:35

29.5 weeks and cleared out and reorganised a big walk in airing cupboard yesterday..... Ouch., sore back and sciatica type pains today! Think I did too much but am enjoying looking at my lovely organised cupboard! Nesting I think Grin!

Bobbycatz · 04/07/2016 20:01

woman I spend most of my evenings now well and truly planted on the sofa!

Shabby I find that all sorts can kick start pains at the moment, can be very frustrating but nesting is so satisfying!

I remember a few people talking about hypnobirthing, I recently bought a book and I'm finding it hard to concentrate and get in to it. Not sure why, I think it's because I don't feel quite ready to give birth. How is everyone else finding it?

I'm starting NCT tomorrow so looking forward to that.

0hCrepe · 04/07/2016 22:53

Ive got the natal hypnotherapy cd and was also wondering when to start it. Don't want to start too early and get bored!

Womenareliketeabags · 04/07/2016 23:14

This is such a coincidence I created a thread early In childbirth asking about when to start my hypnobirthing CD. I think I'm going to start listening to mine soon but I need to find a time when I'm not tired and don't have to watch DS. Could be hard!

Kidneybean2016 · 05/07/2016 06:31

Hi everyone! New joiner to the thread. I'm 28 weeks and midwife appointment tomorrow. Does anyone know if that's when I will get the whooping cough vaccine? Know it's the next set of bloods etc. I'm a first timer. Can't believe it's the third trimester already :-)

Bobbycatz · 05/07/2016 07:12

Welcome kidney. I'm also seeing the midwife today. I also have my whooping cough vaccine today. I had to book it myself through my surgery and I was told to book it after 28weeks.

Bobbycatz · 05/07/2016 16:03

Had my appointments today baby's fundal height was 29cm at 28.4weeks. The vaccine wasn't too bad and the nurse was super quick although my arm is slightly sore but I'm not sure if it's just me being paranoid!

shabbychic1 · 05/07/2016 16:53

Hi Kidney whooping cough used to be from 28 end but my mw said you can now have it from 20. I had to book myself for my practice nurse to do it last week at 28 wks too.
Funny I just ordered the natal hypnotherapy for cs cd yesterday! Going to play it during the day when I'm off as a bit of 'me' and down time.

Kidneybean2016 · 06/07/2016 06:08

Thanks everyone. Well I have my appointment this afternoon. I haven't booked a separate appointment for my injection yet but am on hol from work in a few weeks so can book one for then. Still haven't bought a CD yet but am watching a few on eBay x

balalalala · 06/07/2016 07:31

Hope everyone is feeling alright and appointments going well.

Bobby how did you get on at nct? I'm really enjoying mine so far.

shabbychic1 · 06/07/2016 15:11

No news form GTT so they said if I do t hear anything after Monday is all ok and I do t have gerstational diabetes- yes!!! I've started NCT and am really enjoying it, lovely group and we're all keen to meet up after for coffees etc which I'm relieved- was worrying about loneliness as all other friends work full time! Grin

Annarose2014 · 06/07/2016 17:52

I never got a response about the GTT and it turns out it's cos it was negative so that was good.

Bad news here is that I rang Physio to see what was the story and they had no referral for me! Even though I saw the MW write it out in front of me. So I guess it got lost. So I have to chase that tomorrow. But the Physio girl said that it's an average of 3 or 4 weeks then!

At this stage I'm struggling to bear weight on my right leg at all. Am off work obvs. I think I need a stick/crutch and told her so. The most she could commit to was considering me for a cancellation appointment - that's IF they get a referral!

So I may not really get much help. I actually wouldn't mind if I were closer to term but I have another 11 weeks! Trying to keep a sense of humour about it and not whine too much but my whole life is a blur of pain nowadays so it does wear me out.

Bobbycatz · 06/07/2016 18:44

Hey balala NCT was good there are a total of 7 couples and everyone seems really nice. I think we're trying to set up a Facebook group or something to stay in touch so will see how that goes. Only issue is that geographically we're quite spread out so will see if people are still keen to meet up when the babies are here. How close is everyone in your group?

Anna I can't believe the waiting time to see someone! It seems ridiculous given that pregnancy only lasts so long. I really hope you get a cancellation soon.

balalalala · 06/07/2016 20:01

Great news, glad you enjoyed it.We're quite lucky, I think we're all within about 10-15 mins of each other so should be good for meeting up! We've got a WhatsApp group on the go which is ideal.

PrancingMoose · 07/07/2016 14:02

Hi All, first time poster on this thread! I'm in Surrey and due with DC1 on the 5th September. Got my first ante-natal and NCT class next week, so looking forward to meeting other mums-to-be in the same boat.

Have to say it's been a bit weird in my view so far, all my midwife appointments have been brief (about 10 mins other than the 'booking in' appointment) and there has been no real discussion about what to expect and how the whole process is going to play out. I'm considered high risk due to a blood disorder, so 'thankfully' I will need to have more detailed discussions on this in the coming weeks, but it's unnerving to say the least.

Still at work for another 6 weeks, but it's going so fast!

Bobbycatz · 07/07/2016 18:36

Welcome prancing I know what you mean about midwife appointments I do wonder if they just presume you've read all the relevant info.my appointments are always brief and I never feel that I've been told anything really helpful. At my last appointment she just give me a breastfeeding DVDs to watch.

I've just started NCT this week and it looks like they cover the birthing process in more detail so hopefully it will be the same for you. Do you know if your having a boy or girl?

shabbychic1 · 10/07/2016 09:02

I was 30 weeks on Friday and wow he's being active! I wonder if it's because I'm now 'off' my summer annual leave has kicked in, and mat leave booked for Aug 7th so I'm just a lot more relaxed! He's really moving- my tummy is being stretched this was and that, had a double stretch (assuming an arm and a leg) which was 'odd' and funny! He's a lot more active at night- about 11pm now too. I love that I can feel him so much! How's everyone else?

balalalala · 10/07/2016 09:35

Yes, same here, much more active. Although she still then has quieter days. I'm now 32+3 and am counting down the working days left - 14...! Lucky you being off already!

Annarose2014 · 10/07/2016 09:39

Mine wakes at 10ish every night. Occasionally I'll feel kicks during the day but only if I'm sitting down. I don't feel anything when up and about really. But then at night it's party time!

Struggling quite a lot with the SPD, breathlessness, low blood pressure (weakness) and horrific heartburn. Have a pronounced waddle which is a bit embarrassing!

Also am v big and belly is getting pointy and people are starting to raise their eyebrows at the September date and say "I'd say you'll go early". That's not helping cos that's not how it works! And yes I know I look like a bloody torpedo thanks for that!

But I keep telling myself that it's all normal and the baby seems quite strong (and big!) So I am trying to deal with it all with no drama.

It's bloody hard work this lark though!

Sharesinpampers · 10/07/2016 21:23

Hello all, looks like a lot of us are in the same boat. Third trimester is tiring! Got all excited watching the tennis but only one Braxton Hicks so all good Wink

We have been massively clearing out, buying furniture and building it (the place is like a bloomin IKEA show room) but there's light at the end of the tunnel. Can't wait once baby's room is ready to wash DD1's clothes to freshen them up and get them in baby's wardrobe.

Anyone else struggling with names? We still haven't decided.
