I couldn't post on last thread so hope everyone finds this one!

Great pic annaB and what a lucky girl having four big brothers! I always wanted a big brother and not just because I imagined he'd have cute friends

AnnaR hope you're feeling better now. And glad everyone else seems to be doing ok. I turned 17 weeks a couple of days ago and so so so thankful that I'm eventually feeling much better! Absolutely wiped out by the end of the day but able to eat more now so I think energy will be back soon Smile

DH is off today, yay! Family coming for lunch and the sun is out...happy days

Has anyone else got swollen legs already? I'm wondering if the hot weather is making it worse as well.
Didn't realise it could have this early!

Danni89 · 06/06/2016 16:05

Yep dilli, swollen feet Sad.. The hot weather defo makes it worse

Dilligufdarling · 06/06/2016 16:12

Thanks for letting me know I'm not alone danni... It does suck though !

I'm betting it's also contributing to my weight gain rocketing in this last week too! Confused

shabbychic1 · 06/06/2016 17:48

Swollen feet and cankles here, SOOO unattractive!! In the heat I'm also getting banana fingers too- nice! My pelvic pain went after a couple of days- think I was just over doing it!

shabbychic1 · 07/06/2016 10:49

Bit of a scare this morning, I'd had reduced movement s last night and overnight. At 25+4 I'd been having really strong regular movements and from yesterday evening time he went quiet and I only had a few very soft movements all night. I tapped tummy, spoke to him, played music in tummy, drink hot and cold, wandered around, lied still.... Nothing would Make him move more so I called triage at 7 this morning. Booked in to be monitored at 9 and luckily by them he'd started to love a bit more. Monitored for a while and he moved, has strong heartbeat and is now acting normal. Phew! I almost felt like a fraud going I when he's started to I've again but the midwives were wonderful and told me to call anytime if it happens again. Also got blood pressure and urine done so feeling good! I'm so glad I called them, I would have been worrying all day, even with him moving.

Dilligufdarling · 07/06/2016 11:05

Oh shabby that must have been so scary! Am so glad that all is well, what a relief!
Maybe he was practicing sleeping through the night for you. Wink what a good little chap :)

This thread is really quiet - does anyone know if there's an fb group where everyone's moved to?

Bobbycatz · 07/06/2016 18:02

Oh bless you Shabby that must have been awful. Glad all is ok, I think with these things you have to go with your instincts.

It is quiet Dilli not sure where everyone is..,has anyone made anymore purchases or anything.

We decided on an icandy peach and I'm just patiently waiting for it to arrive in the next few weeks. I feel that we have pretty much got everything we need for baby now. My mum is so excited for her first grandchild that she's also been buying lots of stuff!

The next things I'm starting to think about are things to pack in my hospital bag, so will start compiling a list shortly. I'm getting more and more excited to meet baby now.

sparklystars20 · 07/06/2016 18:38

shabby sorry you had a worrying time - I've been in twice now with reduced movements and they've always been lovely and said trust yourself and always best to get checked out!

dilli a FB group was set up AGES ago but I didn't join at the time and it's a closed group so not sure who to contact if you want to get to it?!

bobby we have got most things now I think too!! Going to look at/collect a sleepyhead cushion and Chicco Next2Me crib on Sun (2nd hand from local FB kids-stuff selling group!) Then I think the only big thing we still need to get is the buggy & car seat! DH is still set on the Uppababy Vista so we'll probably be getting that!
MIL & her family have also been going bonkers buying outfits etc so I don't think our little wriggler will have to wear the same outfit twice for the first year of her life at this rate! I have politely told them we have no more room and they will have to keep any more clothes at their house HmmDH is only child and eldest in family so this is first - long awaited - grandchild!!

Off to try pregnancy yoga tonight - if I can make it down to and up from the floor it will be a miracle!! Blush

shabbychic1 · 07/06/2016 19:07

Thank guys! Smile I haven't bought anything. Big but I'm off work from week 30 with school hols so I'm planning on from g everything then, and we only have a small house so nowhere to store it! Lol. Not thought about prams yet, I did see a lovely giraffe one in mothercare but it was £100 more than the plain ones, I just can't seem to bring myself to spend £100 more for a pattern, tho in gwhat else we could get for that £100, the sling, more nappies, a sleepyhead.... Anyone else feel like this? I don't think it helps with thinking about having to buget on mat pay, and we're saving for a mortgage...

I'd much rather here than Facebook, I must admit I like the anonymity of it when I want to have a moan lol!

What's an Icandy peach?

Bobbycatz · 07/06/2016 19:31

Sparkly have fun at yoga, I've been going yoga a while and really enjoy it, it's nice to be around other pregnant people.

Shabby are you a teacher? I would love to finish at 30wks you must be counting down the days. An icandy is a pram.

I'm still waiting for HR to send me a break down of my pay over my maternity, although as I asked them about two weeks ago I'm sure they've forgotten. I just can't work it out myself, especially factoring tax, pension contributions etc.

shabbychic1 · 07/06/2016 19:43

Yes Bobby, I'm really lucky as it's timed so well (although I feel like I'm having a nervous breakdown at the moment trying to get all the students through/ mark assignments/ admin etc while trying not to Weil too late as I'm e haired and consultant has said not to bet stressed as its bad for blood pressure!! ! Friends at work have said even though you're tired as a new mum it's easier than teaching full time- god I hope so! lol!

I got the maternity booklet fringe at work but I've not thought about pension/tax I've just divided what I take home each month iby X% each time it goes down, and any extra because of less tax etc is a bonus (I'm hoping!!!) Grin

Danni89 · 07/06/2016 20:39

Hi girls.. I've bought the next to me crib, travel system, nursery furniture, sleepy head and a few bits of clothing.. Trying to hold out now until my baby shower- is anyone else having one?

Dilligufdarling · 07/06/2016 21:37

Evening all,
Haven't really bought much as we're hoping to move in the next couple of weeks (fingers crossed!). After that will be shopping big time Grin
What's the "next to me" cot like danni? I'd really like one of these semi co-sleeping jobs for this baby but am not sure which one.
A lot of the things we had for DS were second hand and we've since passed them on so we do need to replace a fair bit... Shame! Grin

Danni89 · 07/06/2016 21:57

We haven't put it up yet dilli, it's still in the box. We are in the process of moving too, so everything is in boxes at the mo

0hCrepe · 07/06/2016 23:15

Ooh everyone's getting organised!
I'm a teacher too so only 5 and a half weeks to go till we break up! Will be on it then. We're skint after going away last week.
So far I've got the travel system and car seat, present from my mum and mil wants to buy us a cot so I think I'll go for a snuzpod or similar and when she gets bigger just get a second hand cot. Other than that, just a few babygros as gifts. The baby will be in with us till the extension is built so it'll be a squeeze! Certainly no furniture. Starting to think about de cluttering before we can start bringing in more stuff.
Still can't really believe it's happening!
I've put on a stone so far. People keep saying my bump is small and it sometimes makes me worry she's not growing enough but I'm trying to take it as a compliment. My friend who's a student midwife felt my tummy today though and said its all exactly as it should be.
Generally feeling pretty good unless I'm standing in one place for a while- queuing for example- then I start getting the low pelvic ache.

Annarose2014 · 08/06/2016 09:35

Hi all, I'm not buying a single thing as I have an 18 month old and don't need anything. But I'm quite jealous of all your shopping! Though I do vividly remember how stressful pram shopping was.

I am feeling pretty huge at the moment and feel very conspicuous! But hey ho. Am living in my fitflops which are gods gift to pregnant women.

My groin pain comes and goes but my worst thing is the nights as we've had a heatwave and I just can't sleep with the heat! So I toss and turn and inevitably pull my groin a bit doing so. Sad

But lots of lovely movements! Last time my placenta was very frontal so my movements were very baffled and small so this is a lot more exciting!

Dollface136 · 08/06/2016 09:40

Hi guys! I've been away in (not so sunny) Salcombe for a few days. A much needed break from London!

Glad to hear everything is ok Shabby. Always best to get checked out and have a professional put your mind at rest.

I'm having a bit of a bad time at the moment. Work are being horrendous and my HR/manager aren't doing anything to help me. I feel like I'm at the end of my rope and it's making me this really emotional and angry person during the day.

Basically since announcing my pregnancy they have changed my job role (bit by bit) so that I have been reduced to basic data entry and meanwhile pushing up my not pregnant (she has 2 grown kids) colleague who now talks down to me like she is my manager and berates me for "having so many appointments". I haven't got any more appointments than any other pregnant person and really resent being made to feel guilty for them.

I don't really know what to do an just feel really trapped. I used to love my job but now I feel like they are pushing me out. Sad.

Dilligufdarling · 08/06/2016 19:09

Glad you had a good break doll but the people at your work sound awful!
Have you actually raised it in writing with HR? I'm not sure they're allowed to ignore your concerns.

It might be difficult to prove the changing job role, but they should definitely act on your colleague commenting on "too many appointments". That's actually illegal (possibly discrimination (if she's officially your manager) or harassment If not) I think and she should be spoken to.

shabbychic1 · 08/06/2016 19:12

They cannot berate you for having antenatal appointments. Next time she does that say it's a protected thing and your legal right so she's in slippery ground making an issue out of it. Hope it's not too bad!

MrsCeee · 09/06/2016 14:14

To the ladies asking about joining the Facebook group. You can PM BaggyPantz or sophied1983. The details are on page 17 of this thread.

I've left a message on the FB group too so someone who's able to add you to the group should be along shortly.

bobbinpop · 09/06/2016 14:22

Haven't been on here for ages :) now 26 wks!
dilli I have been prescribed tablets for hayfever by my allergy consultant. My gp was shocked but the consultant said it was fine. I also use sterimar salt water spray to clean my nose Smile (a word I am unable to pronounce due to being so bunged up!)

MrsCeee · 09/06/2016 14:27

Hi everyone. If you'd like to join the secret Facebook due date group then message me your email address and I will add you.

MrsCeee · 09/06/2016 14:43

I'm sorry to hear about your work troubles Dollface. I second getting them all written down to HR and chasing up their response. It might be useful to speak to your union too if you're a member of one. I found just speaking to someone the once helped to quickly resolve the issues I was having when pregnant with DS.

Have you taken the tablets yet, Bobbin? I've been given some (and told not to take after 36weeks) along with eyedrops and a nasal spray today. I'm tempted to try the Sterimar nasal spray instead now. I hadn't heard of it until I saw your post.

25 weeks on Saturday and I've only just got my Matb1 form today Blush
We've got everything ready for Bump now but we just need the pram, moses basket and next2me co-sleeper.

How is everyone coping with PGP/SPD? Has anyone been to physio yet? Any verdicts?

balalalala · 09/06/2016 15:22

Sounds like lots has been going on with everyone as we all get further through. I got back from Italy yesterday having had a great 6 days in tuscany. Then today I have had a really lovely pregnancy massage which my Dh bought me for our first anniversary. Very relaxing! Hope everyone else is having a good week and coping ok with the heat.

shabbychic1 · 09/06/2016 17:59

Ooh pregnancy massage sounds wonderful! I'm just waiting for my chiropractor apt, it's really good Grin
