I couldn't post on last thread so hope everyone finds this one!

Great pic annaB and what a lucky girl having four big brothers! I always wanted a big brother and not just because I imagined he'd have cute friends

AnnaR hope you're feeling better now. And glad everyone else seems to be doing ok. I turned 17 weeks a couple of days ago and so so so thankful that I'm eventually feeling much better! Absolutely wiped out by the end of the day but able to eat more now so I think energy will be back soon Smile

DH is off today, yay! Family coming for lunch and the sun is out...happy days

sparkly that's wise advice, thanks!

Danni89 · 05/05/2016 13:53

That sounds horrible shabby thank goodness you and baby are ok x

bumpingalong9386 · 05/05/2016 16:05

Oh Shabby! I feel for you, that sounds horrid . Glad baby is all well though and you're in one piece x

shabbychic1 · 05/05/2016 16:08

Thanks Bump. Still really shaken and my back is really hurting now. Feeling pretty low Sad

bumpingalong9386 · 05/05/2016 16:52

Ah well if you need cheering up just picture me "running gracefully" hauling my ass from one end of London Waterloo to the other. I only just got on my train home! They are all delayed today because of a fire on the line Confused

I am one hot, sweaty pregnant lady today and baby probably wondered what on earth was going on with all the jiggling around Grin

shabbychic1 · 05/05/2016 17:49

Oh no bump not fun! I hope you shouted at people to get out of the way dramatically! After a conference on day my colleague and I were merrily sitting in our train congratulating ourselves at being super early- until we realised we were in the wrong train. Que 2 'plus size' 39 yr olds running across kings cross shouting at the train people to hold the train be use 'we've been sitting on the wrong one and we were really early!' They just shouted to us to get in first class and then we had to drag ourselves through 1st class panting, sweaty and dying! It was hysterical! I hope you got a seat! Grin

MrsCeee · 05/05/2016 19:42

Oh Shabby, so glad to hear you and Baby are both fine. What a dreadful experience. Please be kind to yourself. I'm sorry you're still aching.
Are there any particular hypnobirthing tracks you would recommend? I might as well start looking into it sooner than I had planned.

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one with nocturnal woes (sorry, misery does love company).

I managed to enjoy most of the sunshine out in the garden with DS today. I did my first bit of "gardening" too this year, if you count pulling out a few bits of stinging nettle and leaving it at the bottom of the garden, gardening....

balalalala · 05/05/2016 20:59

Oh shabby, poor you. What an unsettling experience for you. Glad you're not too hurt and hope you feel better quickly.

I've been mostly waking up about 2am for a wee, then again about 6 which leaves me up for the day. Not too bad really.

My bump feels massive today, think littleun must have moved or something as I look 6 months pregnant, not 5!

Lilliana · 06/05/2016 07:07

Shabby that's really scary. So glad you're ok. Flowers

I'm not too bad once I'm asleep but even though I'm shattered falling to sleep is a struggle. I also wake up to turn over as my hips are hurting but generally get back to sleep ok until DH's alarm goes off at 4;30. Then it's pot luck - sometimes I'm awake from then and sometimes I sleep until 6.

shabbychic1 · 06/05/2016 10:45

Thanks! I listen to the mp3s from ' hypnobirthing online' it was about £30 and comes with other stuff. Tbh they're not that good I don't think they spend enough time relaxing you and getting you into the zone - but as I've paid for it I'm using it, and it doesn't help me sleep. DH hates it! Bless him!

Dilligufdarling · 06/05/2016 15:29

I've looked at a few hypno birthing things on you tube... They seem to be basically a yoga relaxation but with the word cervix thrown in quite often Grin
Are the "proper" ones are a bit more specific?

shabbychic1 · 06/05/2016 18:06

Dilli tbh I don't really know as I've gone to sleep. I'm mainly listening the the prep for CS one now as I'm most likely having an ELCS and that's a lot more 'focused' talks about look I g over to see partner wearing gown etc. Just a shame this one doesn't take more time to relax you first, it's relax your arms, body, legs..... Not in depth enough. But I ask don't like the music so.....

Does anyone else have any suggestions for good hypnobirthing tracks?

0hCrepe · 06/05/2016 21:34

Sorry to hear about what happened to you shabby. I hope your brain lets it go soon, I bet you're just going over the what ifs. Must have been terrifying.
With ds I listened to a hypno cd (long time ago!) after I'd had a group session with a therapist. It really was invaluable for rationalising negative thoughts. I'd be interested too if anyone knows of a good one.

shabbychic1 · 07/05/2016 10:01

Thanks ohcrepe I'm in a much better place- talked it out with a few DH and friends and can rationalise it now. Now I'm really frustrated that my back is bad just as my tummy is getting heavier- in plus size so was really wanting to keep mobile and healthy during my pregnancy. I know I can't change what happened and just have to work on it but I feel like a little kid trying to stomp and shout 'it's not fair!'. I'm working on that at the moment!! Smile I'm having chiropractic and the insurers are sorting a Physio and I'm gong to follow it to the letter. I'm determined to sort this so I can enjoy my pregnancy!

shabbychic1 · 07/05/2016 11:00

Question- has anyone had to change their bras yet? I've used a back extender but still the same underwires. Just ordered some sleep crop top bras. DH commented how much bigger they'd got- I seem to be oblivious!!

0hCrepe · 07/05/2016 11:06

Ha ha that's weird was just going to say about bras! I've grown a lot and everyone's commenting!
But I was going to say I just got a 2 pack of nursing bras from M&S for £11 reduced from £29- spot bras. The maternity ones are still full price it's just the nursing ones are cheaper. But I reckon it would be possible to wear them in pregnancy too.

shabbychic1 · 07/05/2016 11:21

Just looked at them- they don't have my size boo! Would have been a great deal! Hope they're comfy and good ohcrepe Smile.

Annarose2014 · 07/05/2016 17:37

I am currently wearing an M&S nursing bra too. My chest is gone huuuuuge which is alarming as last time it didn't change at all! I kinda hate it tbh as it just makes me feel bigger all over if you know what I mean. But hey ho.

Today I bought a newborn insert for my sling. We bought the sling when DS was about 5 months old so never needed it before.

It made it all a bit real! Even the picture of the tiny baby on the box!

For reference, it's an Ergo sling. I highly highly recommend popping along to a sling library in Month 8 and borrowing one for the first month post birth. They're a lifesaver. I borrowed several different ones in the first few months last time but when I borrowed the Ergo I knew it was "the one" and so I bought my own.

We're planning on trying a sling & stroller combination as the price of double buggies has shocked us! We just can't afford it as we're doing renovations at the mo. So hopefully this'll work out ok!

Lilliana · 08/05/2016 16:26

I'm wearing my nursing bras. They look frumpy but I feel better as my boobs have got huge. They used to suggest dumping underwired bras when pregnant as they can restrict the milk ducts or something. Not sure if this is old advice though.

A sling library is a great idea. I didn't use one last time but had friends who loved them. Might try borrowing a few and see how I get on with them.

shabbychic1 · 08/05/2016 18:34

Now they say as long as they fit underwires are ok so I'm staying in those at the moment as they still fit with a back extender. Until my crop top night ones arrive in the house I'm wearing old bras where the wire has come out (and I've taken out the other). Totally not supportive - you really see what the wire is about-, but way better than nothing! Grin

bumpingalong9386 · 08/05/2016 19:22

Have worn sports bras in bed as they were the most comfy for me. Really need to look at going & getting some proper maternity bras.

Eeeep! It's only 13 hours till my scan tomorrow! Pink or blue!?!

shabbychic1 · 08/05/2016 19:29

bumping oh good luck with the scan it's so special! As soon as I found out I was 'blue' I was overjoyed! And if I'd found out if was 'pink' I'd have been overjoyed too! It's just wonderful! Enjoy it! Flowers

Dilligufdarling · 08/05/2016 19:52

Oooooh good luck bumping!

I'm wearing some non-underwired "comfort" ones from sainsburys. They're actually lush to wear and so much better than cramming my poor over grown boobs into something that doesn't fit!

I'd been in Sports bras for a while but had to finally give them up last week.

Had my first proper boot from mini-Dilli today - was lovely GrinGrin

bumpingalong9386 · 08/05/2016 21:44

How exciting Dilli Smile

I had looked at the ones at Sainsburys and wondered if they were any good, might have to go and have a looksie some point this week.

WePlusThree · 09/05/2016 09:03

Hey! I haven't been on here since early pregnancy, 22+4 now 😱 Just had a scan through, hoping all you get rid of that sickness soon. We kept our pregnancy a secret until 16 weeks just because we liked keeping it to ourselves, then we did a big announcement when I couldn't hide bump anymore!

Is there a Facebook group yet? I'm always about on my previous mumsnet bus on fb instead of here just because it's easier! If there is one can someone add me please? I need some reassurance that my bump isn't as big as I think it is 😂
