I couldn't post on last thread so hope everyone finds this one!

Great pic annaB and what a lucky girl having four big brothers! I always wanted a big brother and not just because I imagined he'd have cute friends

AnnaR hope you're feeling better now. And glad everyone else seems to be doing ok. I turned 17 weeks a couple of days ago and so so so thankful that I'm eventually feeling much better! Absolutely wiped out by the end of the day but able to eat more now so I think energy will be back soon Smile

DH is off today, yay! Family coming for lunch and the sun is out...happy days

Last time I pushed it far too late to go in mat leave - 38+3. Which was just stupid. I work about a 15 minute walk from the station in London, and in the last week I was having to get a taxi everyday!

Think this time I'm going to leave around 36/37 weeks, which will be somewhere around the August bank holiday i think.

Dilligufdarling · 26/04/2016 22:44

This is my latest creation for the baby - what do you think? Tried to be practical - so the foot muff can separate for car seats and whatnot. Smile

Oops sorry for the double post!

ninecoronas · 26/04/2016 23:05

Wowsers Dilli, you made that? Very impressed!

Hi Shabby, and Tazlet- big hugs to you and hope things turn out ok.

I had my scan after a few false starts and some star jumps. Baby didn't want to uncurl but all good in the end.

I don't know when I'm having mat leave...I'm on a contract that finishes in a couple of months, it depends if I can get another short one after that. I could end up a lady of (broke) leisure!

YouAreAWizardHarry · 26/04/2016 23:08

Dilligufdarling that's adorable!!

MrsCeee · 26/04/2016 23:24

Wow, that's really impressive, Dilli? Did you crotchet that? I remember my grandmother taught me how to crotchet when I was in primary school but I used to only make squares and circles which just kept growing and growing Confused I never quite progressed beyond that haha

Glad to hear your scan went well, nine
Hopefully you can get another contract too

All this talk of mat leave has made me realise DS's due date was actually a day after my current EDD. I went on mat leave at 34 or 35 weeks (using up 2 weeks of annual leave first). I will probably do the same this time around.

Dilligufdarling · 27/04/2016 08:07

Cheers guys :) yes mrscree I started crocheting about 3 years ago - I do have a unhealthily large collection of handmade blankets as well - they're my favourite thing to make.

Currently sitting on the floor of my commuter train because chivalry is dead and my bum hurts Angry.

Lilliana · 27/04/2016 09:32

Welcome shabby and taz Hope thibgs get better for you Taz. Nice to have another EDD buddy.

I'm going to try to hold out until 39 weeks but I will have had 6 weeks off for summer holidays so will only be going back for 2 weeks and the first week is INSET also I only work 2 days since having DD. Last time I had half term and then went off officially at 38 weeks. DD was 2 weeks late and I was so bored after 5 weeks waiting around! I can't afford the year off so want as much time as possible with baby at the other end!

shabbychic1 · 27/04/2016 12:16

Just had 20 week scan- he's a boy! So excited and in love already! Smile all happy and healthy, my bp is borderline so consultant (who's lovely) says to try not to get stressed. I'll try. Had an anxious sleepless night last night and now I'm so relieved, joyful and tired and excited all at once!

shabbychic1 · 27/04/2016 12:51

Lilli that's fab, so talented! My MIL crotches ad is in with some blankets, might get her to teach me if you can make gorgeous things like this!

A friend in London (who's recently become a dad) regularly posts about numerous men sitting in seats and trying not to make eye contact with standing heavily pregnant ladies who would obviously appreciate a seat. He gets v annoyed and always gets up or if he's not sitting makes a suggestion that they should get up bless him!

shabbychic1 · 27/04/2016 12:55

Oops typo- Dilli not Lilli for crocheting! Grin. Looks like you're in education too Lilli- good timing for Maternity leave hey?! Grin

SockQueen · 27/04/2016 15:04

Had my anomaly scan today at 20+5, all looking good, and it's a boy. Still blooming wriggly so the sonographer took ages to get some of the measurements though!

shabbychic1 · 27/04/2016 15:10

Great pic Sockqueen And congratulations! Welcome to the Boy team!! You're a week ahead of me. Mine was wriggling for the spine check and profile pic! Sonography with had to jiggle my (very jiggly) tum to get him to move!

Danni89 · 27/04/2016 16:26

Congrats socks and shabz 3 boys this week!! Whoop! Team Blue!

MrsCeee · 27/04/2016 16:35

Ah how lovely! We have more boys! Glad to hear the scans went well too.

Dilligufdarling · 27/04/2016 17:48

Yay Socks and Shabby :) congratuliones on your scans :) so lovely to see the picture!

shabby Thank you :) I find it so relaxing - I do it on the train (wherever I end up sitting) and it really passes the time. I do get some wierd looks sometimes... But tbh I couldn't care less!

Does anyone else here tend towards low blood pressure rather than high? I had this last time as well, but am getting quite light headed at times. Added to the anemia (am on iron tabs) I don't think my blood is pulling its weight at the moment!

YouAreAWizardHarry · 27/04/2016 18:14

In my last appt my blood pressure was 95/45 and is averaging 100/50. Normally it's in a healthy range. I can't stand still for more than 5-10 minutes without feeling faint. Midwife doesn't seem to think this is an issue lol!

Annarose2014 · 27/04/2016 19:34

Yeah I go low. Surgical stockings are your friend. They keep it up a bit.

(Besides them just being a god send in pregnancy anyway)

Also keep drinking lots. Ppl with low pressure can't afford to get anyway dehydrated.

My main issue with it last time was that I fainted in the birthing pool. It was about 109 when I booked in but had obvs dropped in the meantime with the pain etc and the hot steam of the pool made it plummet into my feet. DH had to call the midwives and I had to be wheeled dripping wet and wrapped in a blanket up the corridor in a wheelchair to the labour room. It was a real bummer as for the five minutes I was in there the pain relief was amazing! But hey ho.

I'd still try it again, I might get away with it this time!

bumpingalong9386 · 27/04/2016 20:11

Congrats to the ladies who had their scans! I'm super excited about mine now, only 12 days to wait!!!

Had my first comment about 'bump' popping out today from someone at work who I don't usually see, that was weird although I guess it's something you get used to... Not a bad comment, I just keep forgetting I've got one! Having said that though, I feel like my backside is growing at the same rate as my bump 🙄

balalalala · 27/04/2016 20:37

Congrats on all the lovely scans and good to hear there will be some boys too! Sorry to hear you're having a rough time taz hopefully we can give you some support here.

I'm planning to take 3 weeks holiday from week 35 then start mat leave at week 38 which leaves just over13 weeks left! Not that I'm counting or anything...

Lilliana · 27/04/2016 21:02

I'm low too Dilli. Nothing's been said about it. I'm hoping to be able to use a pool this time after being strapped to a bed last time. Hopefully I won't faint and ruin it Grin

Yes I'm primary Shabby. Waiting to see how long it takes my very unobservant year 6's to notice my bump!! Are you a teacher too? I think there's a few of us

Annabrooke90 · 27/04/2016 21:43

Mines low too, always is and then in pregnancy it just dips even lower. Feel faint alot so keep a bottle of water on hand with me.

Congratulations on the scans and the baby boys :)

Had my 3rd day of training for work, followed by college straight after, my brain feels abit fuzzy ha. It's down to the last four weeks now for all assignment deadline, so the pressure is on. I still have seven left to do :/ luckily I have already met the highest entry requirements, so I suppose if worst comes to worst, I don't really need to excell on the remaining work. But still trying to hence why it's taking so blinking long to complete an assignment.

I hope everyone is ok.

Dilligufdarling · 28/04/2016 12:41

Hi all,
Thanks for the tips re drinking - I'd not realised that was a factor, but makes sense.
I'm getting seriously thirsty at the moment anyway so will keep chugging it down.

Am feeling really big today - think it's nearly time to retire this particular work outfit... Desperately need to go shopping!

Have a good day all

Vampishtortoise · 28/04/2016 15:27

Scan today at 21+1 and another baby boy! Over the moon
