I couldn't post on last thread so hope everyone finds this one!

Great pic annaB and what a lucky girl having four big brothers! I always wanted a big brother and not just because I imagined he'd have cute friends

AnnaR hope you're feeling better now. And glad everyone else seems to be doing ok. I turned 17 weeks a couple of days ago and so so so thankful that I'm eventually feeling much better! Absolutely wiped out by the end of the day but able to eat more now so I think energy will be back soon Smile

DH is off today, yay! Family coming for lunch and the sun is out...happy days

Your post has been very reassuring, thanks Sparkly Smile I was starting to think I maybe have an anterior placenta too because I can feel flutters and I was convinced DS's movements were a lot more obvious at this stage.. I'm probably remembering it all wrong.

The chickenpox is fortunately going 'well', for lack a better word. The calamine lotion is working really well for DS's itching and I tried the oat bath which helped a lot.

Bump-wise, there is a definite bump here. The cat's out of the bag!

Yes, Anna, I agree with Annabrooke. I wouldn't beat myself up over it. I'm sure more people would admit to feeling the same guilt at one point too.

shabbychic1 · 26/04/2016 11:45

Just adding myself, so exciting! I have my 20 week (well, 19+5) scan tomorrow. We can find out the sex so it'll make it VERY real! eek!!!!! Lilliana36 we're due together! :)

Hi shabby good luck with your scan!

Thanks so much anna that's really reassuring. I had a look in my diary and I firs felt DS at 20 weeks, so am not quite there yet, I'd just got all caught up in the "feeling second children earlier" thing.

I'm really torn re gender, this might be our last child, and I'd love to have a daughter at some point, but if it's not our last then I really don't mind at all. I'm about as far from being a girly girl as it's possible to be so I'm not even sure why I'd want a daughter so badly!
It's a case of affording a third - and we certainly couldn't at the moment, but you never know what will happen.

shabbychic1 · 26/04/2016 12:58

PS, I haven’t felt any flutters, kicks or anything and I’m 19+5. I heard it’s strong heartbeat and kicks on the dopla at 17 weeks so not worried but it is frustrating as people keep asking me and I have to say no, then explain that with your first you might not feel anything til even 25 weeks. I can’t wait to feel it!

Bobbycatz · 26/04/2016 13:03

Congrats on the scans and baby girls and boy, still 2 weeks until my scan and we've decided not to find out. I think the baby will be a boy, just a gut feeling.

Ive just started feeling flutters the last few days although the whole thing was a bit of an anticlimax as i kept thinking i think thats the baby... i'm looking forward to feeling kicks.

Anna When do you think you'll tell your parents, why are you nervous to tell?

Tazlet · 26/04/2016 13:24

Hello all - can I join? I'm due 2/09/2016 - having a little boy (first time mum) and not having the best time so could do with some hugs!

Danni89 · 26/04/2016 14:01

Good luck with your scan Shabby!

Welcome Tazlet.. I'm also going to be a 1st time mum with a boy. How comes you're having a hard time? We are here to listen..

Danni89 · 26/04/2016 14:01

Or read shall I say lol.

MrsCeee · 26/04/2016 14:02

Welcome and Congratulations, Tazlet!
Sorry to hear you're not having the best of times.

Annabrooke90 · 26/04/2016 14:03

Everyone is different and anterior placenta really does make a difference to the movements, it won't be long for you :)

Bobby- it's just the number of children I have, she will also assume I probably won't go on to take my uni place which I will...I've spent three years of tough work to get to this point and I'd never give that up. And my age too. I suppose she will be worried about me. She says people don't have large families anymore. Mum only has me and my sister and we were 10 years apart. I will have to tell her soon because I have got a job at her work and obviously you need to inform the employer by 25 weeks; I want her to know first.

Annabrooke90 · 26/04/2016 14:03

Welcome tazlet :)

shabbychic1 · 26/04/2016 14:13

Hi Tazlet I’ve found these groups really great and supportive, I hope you do too. What happening to make you feel down? HUGS

Tazlet · 26/04/2016 14:19

Had my 20 week scan and then follow up at the special care unit - they diagnosed echogenic bowel and also that he's very small for his EDD. So now we are waiting to find out if we are carriers of cystic fibrosis and if we are an amnio all of which would take me 25 weeks or over. I've also been very badly sick (kept down one meal fully in 5 months) - I'm hoping that's why he's small.

shabbychic1 · 26/04/2016 14:57

Tazlet sending you lots of hugs, I hope your blood tests come back negative, there are many reasons for echogenic bowel, and small measurements and Ive got my fingers crossed for you. I really hope it goes OK!

MrsCeee · 26/04/2016 15:15

I'm really sorry to hear you're going through all of this, Tazlet. Sending lots of hugs your way

YouAreAWizardHarry · 26/04/2016 16:18

Welcome Tazlet Smile

Sorry to hear things are not going so well at the moment, I bet the sickness is making you really miserable too

Is anyone else struggling with tiredness? I'm not normal tired it's like an all consuming crushing fatigue that is making normal things completely overwhelm me.

Tazlet · 26/04/2016 16:20

I am so so tired too! I think I could sleep all day if given the chance!

When is everybody planning to start mat leave and how long are you planning to take?

Danni89 · 26/04/2016 16:50

Sorry to hear about your struggles tazlet. Hope the results come back ok and sending you lots of hugs

I am hoping to take 3 weeks holiday from 36 weeks, then officially start mat leave on week 39

Bobbycatz · 26/04/2016 17:48

Anna well you sound pretty organised and prepared, especially with uni so hopefully she'll see that and be supportive.

Welcome tazlet sorry to hear about your babies issues, I've got my fingers crossed that things will be ok.

I'm thinking of taking two weeks holiday at 38weeks then starting maternity leave on my due date. I think I'll take close to a year off and return at the beginning of September.

PeppaPigStinks · 26/04/2016 18:33

Tazlet - what a roller coaster for you. Have you been given any anti sickness meds. They were a lifesaver for me. Second hypermeisis pregnancy here and I have only been able to eat thanks to cyclizine.

'Normal' morning sickness should subside by now.

Sorry to hear your little dude is small. Keeping my fingers cross for you

shabbychic1 · 26/04/2016 20:33

I'm a lecturer so it's timed well for me, I go on annual leave at week 30 then then taking maternity leave at week 34- means I'll accrue my whole year annual leave while off so I can add that to the end of my mat leave. I know I'm very lucky! Means I'll have 10 weeks off before due date so planning to sort everything then- shopping/ cooking for freezer/ making home made products etc.

YouAreAWizardHarry · 26/04/2016 20:48

What's your job Bobby ?

Oh Shabby that sounds amazing!

I'm a student nurse so will be on placement until 37 + 5 then a week of lectures, returning following September. Planning on stopping my paid night shifts at about 30 weeks, as placement is 40 hours a week and Ill be too tired! If I leave earlier than that it's really awkward sorting out when to come back so am hoping to last til the end!

Bobbycatz · 26/04/2016 21:18

Wizard Harry I work in local government so although I do sometimes need to go out and about mostly I'm just sat at my desk.

Wow Shabby that's nicely timed.

shabbychic1 · 26/04/2016 22:24

I know, I'm very lucky. We tried for a long time to get pregnant but it seems that the timing has turned out perfectly.
wizard what a great job you're going into/ your doing!

YouAreAWizardHarry · 26/04/2016 22:38

Ah that's good Bobby more time with baby too as your staying later Smile

I'm loving it shabby so glad I went back to uni!
