December 2016... Babies

Doesn't seem to be a thread yet for babies due in December, possibly because I'm crazy and POAS really really early but a line is a line and today was my "double check" second day and a BFP it was again!

I sadly had a miscarriage in November found the July babies thread a huge help in my early days of pregnancy and the ladies were very supportive after the MC - I've just returned to mumsnet under a new name as I was finding it a bit painful at one point and went a bit cold turkey from it all!

So here is a bit about me

I'm 38
This will be baby number one for me
EDD 3rd December (know when I ovulated been using the monitor - the app ok many apps I've consulted this morning confirm this as the date

Very nervous after last time but want to enjoy every minute I can, I loved being pregnant before and want to do all the same things as before just keeping everything crossed for a sticky one.

Who is ready to join me Smile

Congratulations User, what amazing news so soon after getting married, a whirlwind month by the sounds of it!

Cho, I really hope the consultant says you can continue with it on Monday. It would be much more peace of mind with it I imagine, I have everything crossed for you.

user1459543334 · 01/04/2016 23:14

Thanks guys...thinking of you cho...keep us posted X

Thisisbonkers · 01/04/2016 23:41

I'm veggie and currently just taking the folic acid. first appointment is two weeks today as I couldn't make next week's clinic, will be 7 weeks so hopefully ok. I have no idea what to be expecting Confused

BabyBumpHopeful · 02/04/2016 02:51

Tentatively joining as I just got a BFP today, 10 DPO. EDD Dec 10 according to a website online.

Member of the Bumsnet squad. TTC since Jan 2015, this will be #1 (and possibly only). Definitely finding out sex and have no preference at the moment!

DH doesn't know yet because he's helping a mate with his computer and it's almost 9pm (I found out at 5pm) so I'm going a little stir crazy!

Congratulations newbies - especially exciting for the IVFers. Amazing news. Had a very busy week at work and aside from my boobs hurting when I walk (awesome) and the same level of nausea (feels like I'm hungover to be honest - a rich tea biscuit usually sorts me out) it's just the tiredness getting to me. I was also incredibly stroppy with the husband last night. Got the elusive 3+ this morning on a clear blue so feeling a bit calmer.

When they discovered my MMC, they advised it had happened at around 6 and a half weeks so at 6+1 today those nerves are kicking in. Just trying to take everything one day at a time and see what life throws as us. Hopefully it's a healthy, full term pregnancy and a healthy, happy baby!

LittleBear01 · 02/04/2016 07:15

Thanks notaclue! It's really very exciting, I love the idea of bringing the baby home to Christmas decorations - hopefully this Christmas will be a very magical one for us.

Hello fellow IVFers, Tip and Cho - I don't have many symptoms, so you? Apparently being on progesterone can mask them and I'm on crinone and cyclogest, as well as fragmin, aspirin and Prednisolone. What are you guys still taking?

Congrats to everyone else. I did the Clearblue weeks estimator this morn and got 2-3, so that's right as I'm 4+3 Smile

LittleBear01 · 02/04/2016 07:20

Oh, Cho, just read back and saw that you might be stopping the progesterone. I too had a fresh round but my clinic keeps us on it until 12 weeks. If I were you I'd probably fight to stay on it: it can't do any harm as your body only absorbs what it needs. Good luck.

Sunnydays321 · 02/04/2016 07:39

Hi to all the new additions and congratulations! Especially as we have quite a few ivf babies here, extra exciting! We tried for 6 months and that felt like an age, can't imagine what you ladies have been through.

Has any one got any symptoms yet? I have really sore boobs but that's about it, not weeing more, no nausea, no more tired than usual (I'm always bloody tired!! Haha). 4+2 so early days still. Waiting for it all to kick in. I got 2-3 weeks on my clear blue this morning so I'm happy about that. Hope everyone has a nice weekend x

Azure83 · 02/04/2016 08:45

Hello everyone!
I got a BFP yesterday morning! Did another test this morning just in case but there's no mistaking my xtra large sore boobs for anything else right now. DC1 due on Dec 11th! It's crazy how fast things have happened, I got off the pill in Feb so only took two cycles! No symptoms yet, apart from the boobs.. bring on the morning sickness..

ChoChang · 02/04/2016 09:12

Thanks ladies, I am really going to fight to stay on the progesterone then after what youve all said. It's taken us so long to get to this point I feel like it's definitely worth it.

Congratulations and welcome baby bump! duxb I can imagine its a bit of a nervewracking time, but the 3+ weeks is great. I am totally with you on the one day at a time thing!

Hi fellow IVFers, we did it! Symptoms wise , my boobs are massive and achy, and I'm soooo thirsty all the time. Other that that just a bit of tiredness (which to be fair I'm always tired!), not got any nausea to report. I'm not on any other meds, just progesterone - hopefully for a while! I also love the idea of a December baby, Christmas is by far my favourite time of year.

Updated list above! Congrats to all the newbies! Seems we have quite a few IVF babies on this thread which is extra special. :)

Saw doctor yesterday morning so now being referred to the midwife. I expect they will phone me next week to make an appointment. I feel permanently tired right now, with occasional nausea, but otherwise am doing okay.

KitKat1985 · 02/04/2016 10:36

By the way is anyone else unable to do the top button on their jeans / trousers? I was warned second time around onwards your tummy just goes 'ping' and goes out really quickly. I'm having to use a hair band to 'expand' the top of my jeans! I know it's bloating at this point rather than baby, but wasn't expecting to have to do this so early on (and I've been having to not close my top button for at least a week now)! Shock

excitedmummytob · 02/04/2016 11:36

Can I check...are occasional twinges normal at 4weeks? Thank you in advance X

KitKat1985 · 02/04/2016 12:07

Hi excitedmummytob. I think twinges and cramps are all pretty normal during pregnancy. It's only really if you have more severe pain and / or bleeding that you need to worry.

excitedmummytob · 02/04/2016 12:12

Thank you so much!

HidinginPlainS1ght · 02/04/2016 12:50

Hi
Can I join? I have just had a BFP for my third pregnancy, second child. However my first child died quite recently. (I don't want to get any more specific than that as I don't want anyone IRL to know I'm pregnant and I know they read here, hence the name change)

I'm not convinced this pregnancy will work out. I have zero symptoms of any kind and the line is pretty faint but we'll see. If it does the due date will be 9th December. (First child was early so hopefully not a Christmas baby!)

NotAClue82 · 02/04/2016 13:28

Hi Hiding,

So sorry to hear about your first child. Congratulations on being pregnant! I think for most of us it's nice to hang out here as we've not gone public in real life yet Smile.

Do you have a partner who you've told?

In any case, welcome!

excitedmummytob · 02/04/2016 13:42

That's what I'm finding so hard! We're such a close family and it's horrible only me and my husband knowing! I'm terrible at keeping a secret!

HidinginPlainS1ght · 02/04/2016 14:58

Thanks, my partner does know! I can't say either of us are over the moon even though this child was very much planned. It is perhaps that bit too soon or perhaps we just know how quickly things go wrong.

excited-I am useless at keeping secrets too, we told family very early last time, I am determined to keep it quiet until 20 weeks (if it works out) this time but don't know how that will go. I'd said I'd keep it quiet last time and didn't!

shopaholic85 · 02/04/2016 15:11

Hi all, can I join too? I had my bfp on Thursday and around 4+2 today.

I'm 31, DC1, EDD 8th Dec. DH and I have been actively ttc for 7 months and sadly had a mc in Jan. I was a bundle of anxiety when we found out, but feel a lot calmer now. Starting to accept that I have no control over whether I will miscarry again.

Is anyone else having an early scan done? I'm looking at getting a private one at 7 weeks. I could wait until 12 weeks, but would like to know sooner rather than later if there is something wrong.

And how is everyone feeling today? I have swollen boobs, bloating (struggling with top button on jeans too KitKat Blush) and a heightened sense of smell. No proper sickness yet though.

BabyBumpHopeful · 02/04/2016 15:14

Just realised I should probably alter my NN!

Sunny I have symptoms but I'm not conviced they're pregnancy ones. I'm on antibiotics following a root canal and was warned they might be rough on the stomach, hence my shock at a bfp when I only poas to stop myself drop declaring I'm pregnant because I feel slightly off.

The one I DO believe is reflux. On Wednesday night/Thursday morning I had bad reflux even though I'm on meds for it. That was cd8/9. Yesterday (cd10) I was bloated and had indigestion that none of the regular stuff would help.

Also not exactly nausea but burping etc from the indigestion males me feel sick. Oh and the work fridge smelt like off milk yesterday (which, let's be honest, isn't a huge shock anyway). So I stop these antibiotics in a week so I'll know what's what then!

December 2016... Babies
pocketsized · 02/04/2016 16:30

Checking in if I may.

Still a bit she'll shocked. BFP on Thursday, after only 3 weeks of "trying"!

As a bit of background it took us 3.5 years between decided to have a baby and DD arriving, so when she turned one, and after a LOT of discussion I agreed with DH to start trying. Still a long way to go, and I have a history of miscarriages so trying not to get too invested.

Starting to panic now though about all the practicalities of being pregnant with a 1 year old who doesn't sleep to look after!

Anyone else with two close together here?

excitedmummytob · 02/04/2016 17:16

Hello!! Just a quick one...when are people planning on telling parents about pregnancy? We're thinking around week 10!

pocketsized · 02/04/2016 17:53

At least 12 weeks, if not later if we can get away with it. They were spectacularly unsupportive over my previous miscarriages so I'd rather deal with anything without pressure from them.

duxb · 02/04/2016 18:04

Mine know already - purely because the miscarriage was so traumatic and they were really supportive and we know that if it happens again, we will need that support. My husband and father work at the same company too so that will be useful if need be. Spent most of the day in bed today feeling really sick and got up to go to asda and have lunch - which I ate at 5pm. The dog just jumped for a ball and a law landed bang in my stomach - I know everything will be fine but the worry is still there. These early weeks are so full of worry!
