December 2016... Babies

1002 replies

Penguinepenguins · 21/03/2016 18:30

Doesn't seem to be a thread yet for babies due in December, possibly because I'm crazy and POAS really really early but a line is a line and today was my "double check" second day and a BFP it was again!

I sadly had a miscarriage in November found the July babies thread a huge help in my early days of pregnancy and the ladies were very supportive after the MC - I've just returned to mumsnet under a new name as I was finding it a bit painful at one point and went a bit cold turkey from it all!

So here is a bit about me

I'm 38
This will be baby number one for me
EDD 3rd December (know when I ovulated been using the monitor - the app ok many apps I've consulted this morning confirm this as the date

Very nervous after last time but want to enjoy every minute I can, I loved being pregnant before and want to do all the same things as before just keeping everything crossed for a sticky one.

Who is ready to join me Smile

Now this is something that I haven't done. I have only poas once. Do you keep repeating for reassurance?

SolomanDaisy · 31/03/2016 09:30

Wow Theaks you are very self-restrained, only testing once! I've tested three times! I'm going to test again with the clear blue weeks indicator, just to check it keeps going up. orchid you must be thrilled to see the 3+ sign!

Devgal · 31/03/2016 09:44

Wow Theaks, that is restrained!! It seems to be more out of habit now than for any other reason! I will do one more CBD to get my 3+ at the weekend, then won't do any more!

Theaks · 31/03/2016 10:53

Just wondered if I was missing something- if I should be testing. I want to test now!!
On Thursdays we have the drop in midwife at work- taking all my strength not to go and speak to her. Don't want anyone catching me and finding out.

MrsJoJo · 31/03/2016 15:22

I've only poas once too... Have one more frer from my twin pack but have enough signs to convince me atm!

I'm tempted but would rather spend money on baby stuff in a few months than pee sticks now tbh!...

SolomanDaisy · 31/03/2016 17:10

With a history of infertility and miscarriage I'm not really convinced there'll be a baby in a few months! So I keep testing to make sure something is still happening.

NotAClue82 · 31/03/2016 20:15

Hey guys, I also have my booking appointment booked - For the 10th May, I'll be 10 weeks then! I'm going to have some bloods done before then though to have my thyroid checked (I had to take levothyroxine during my last pregnancy).

Are there any other hypothyroiders among us?

Thisisbonkers · 31/03/2016 21:18

So after over 12 months of trying and an IVF referral in the pipeline, there was a very, very faint line on a stick this morning. Don't feel pregnant. Should I feel pregnant? It feels like I'm due on any minute. But other than that. It's a bit weird, isn't it?

I might poas once more just to be sure. I'm not sure I believe it. But will due early December. Argh!!

TipBoov · 31/03/2016 21:57

Congrats thisisbonkers!! Early pregnancy symptoms are very much like you'd feel if you were due to come on so it can be confusing, but if the test is positive, you're pregnant!

Theaks · 31/03/2016 22:46

Congratulations thisisbonkers. Yes I get what you mean when you say that you feel like your about to come on. Strange feeling. I'm really wanting some more symptoms. Symptoms make it feel real- it's bad wanting to be sick!

LittleBear01 · 01/04/2016 08:02

Hi all, I'm 4+2 after my 4th IVF (this is baby no. 1, had a miscarriage from IVF 3 in October last year). Very happy and anxious! Due date is 7th December. Congratulations all Grin

Congrats thisisbonkers and littlebear! I've added you to my stats list! Grin I think I does take a while for it to feel to real, especially when you don't have many symptoms (which you often don't in the early days). I'm just starting to feel occasionally nauseous. I know it's going to get worse. I felt awful between 6-12 weeks with DD, so although in some ways it's reassuring to get some symptoms, it's a bit depressing too!

I find my pregnacare tablets awful for making me feel sick too.

Off to see my GP in a bit to get a midwife referral. It's not going to be a very exciting appointment but it's nice to get this pregnancy 'official'.

I've also peed on many sticks. Blush Actually peed on my last IC this morning and was considering getting more (!) but the rational part of my brain says not too. It's an anxiety thing with me I think. I'm also tempted to buy another Clearblue digi next week just to see if my hormones are now high enough to make the weeks indicator register '3+ weeks'.

TipBoov · 01/04/2016 12:56

Congrats littlebear ! I have an IVF baby (or babies, I find out at the end of the month!) due 6th Dec.

kikat pregnacare make me feel sick too and I find them really hard to swallow. I have been taking them daily but I'm not sure if another brand would be better?

I did another test today, the line is definitely getting darker. I'm not going to do anymore because they are ££££, and I'm getting obsessed with testing everyday Blush

Nuttypops · 01/04/2016 14:12

Congratulations ThisisBonkers and LittleBear!

I remember the feeling of feeling like I was going to come on at any point with DD, it is normal apparently. Nothing like this time but it is early days yet I suppose.

I found pregnacare awful last time for making me ill, eventually gave up and went back to seven seas trying for a baby that I had been taking during ttc, just stuck with them for the rest of pregnancy and they were fine.

SolomanDaisy · 01/04/2016 15:54

Congratulations to all the new people!

I've never had any problem with pregnacare. I'm also taking an algae based omega 3 supplement, as I'm vegetarian, and very high dose folic acid, due to higher risk of spina bifida. Last time I took spatone from about 12 weeks too.

ChoChang · 01/04/2016 17:05

Hi all. Very tentatively jumping aboard after ivf treatment. Testing positive but have been spotting for the last 6 days so not sure whether this is going to work out, but trying to stay upbeat and positive! Edd 9th December.

Congratulations to everyone in the December club! Pregnacare also makes me feel really unwell too, I take the seven seas.

TipBoov · 01/04/2016 18:25

congratulationschochang!

soloman where do you get your veggie omega 3 from? I'm a lifelong vegetarian & ive been taking the fishy pregnacare tablets sp I'd much prefer to take vegetarian supplements.

I've got my first scan booked with the fertility clinic in 3 weeks, so exciting.

I booked in with the midwife too, they ate going to post me a booking in pack with my first appointment which will be at 11-12 weeks, and then they'll book me a scan for 13-14 weeks which seems quite late.

Theaks · 01/04/2016 18:48

Has everyone booked their first midwife appointment now. I'm planning on getting one booked in after my scan next week- just to make sure all is so far so good!

Nuttypops · 01/04/2016 18:52

Congratulations ChoChang! Will you have an early scan because of IVF treatment? Hopefully that will show all is well despite the bleeding but it can be very normal to have it when AF is usually due apparently. I had it in my previous pregnancy with DD without any problems and am again with this one so fingers crossed all is well.?

SolomanDaisy · 01/04/2016 18:52

Congratulations chochang.

I get the tablets from vegetology.co.uk With DS I actually started craving fish before I started taking them! His brain seems fine, so I guess the algae works.

NotAClue82 · 01/04/2016 19:51

Ohhh I never knew vegetarians needed supplements?
I'm a long time vegetarian, though during my last pregnancy I started craving meat massively, it turned out I had low iron (unsurprisingly). Those spatone sachets didn't do much for my iron levels so I ended up eating quite a bit of meat! Very odd as I hadn't craved met at all since becoming a veggie! Reverted back to veggie straight after birth, but at only 4 weeks I'm already starting to crave steaks and sausages again... Blush

user1459543334 · 01/04/2016 22:04

Hey everyone...after two faint lines I took a clear blue digital test today which said pregnant 2-3! I estimate due date is around 7 Dec! Only got married two weeks ago so a bit shocked it's happened so quickly...we know how blessed we are and that it's very early days! First pregnancy but feeling very anxious! Trying not to get too excited but don't want to stress and worry the next 2/3 months either! Every twinge I panic!

ChoChang · 01/04/2016 22:22

Thanks guys, and congratulations user, very quick work!

Yes nuttypops I will get an early scan in around 3 weeks time if ive made it that far. What I'm most scared of is coming off the progesterone on Sunday. I rang to ask if I could continue on them given the spotting and previous mc's but the nurse said it's not normal for them to continue it with fresh cycle ivf. However, she said I can ring back on Monday morning when the consultant is in and she would ask about it. I'm just terrified that as soon as I stop the progesterone then the spotting will just turn into af and another mc. It's great to know that you had a successful pregnancy with it though, very encouraging!

SolomanDaisy · 01/04/2016 22:39

Congratulations user.

I'm not sure that vegetarians actually need the supplements, but there are definitely benefits to having omega supplements during pregnancy. I don't think they'd help with iron related cravings though!
