December 2016... Babies

1002 replies

Penguinepenguins · 21/03/2016 18:30

Doesn't seem to be a thread yet for babies due in December, possibly because I'm crazy and POAS really really early but a line is a line and today was my "double check" second day and a BFP it was again!

I sadly had a miscarriage in November found the July babies thread a huge help in my early days of pregnancy and the ladies were very supportive after the MC - I've just returned to mumsnet under a new name as I was finding it a bit painful at one point and went a bit cold turkey from it all!

So here is a bit about me

I'm 38
This will be baby number one for me
EDD 3rd December (know when I ovulated been using the monitor - the app ok many apps I've consulted this morning confirm this as the date

Very nervous after last time but want to enjoy every minute I can, I loved being pregnant before and want to do all the same things as before just keeping everything crossed for a sticky one.

Who is ready to join me Smile

Hey Dub, great news on the digital - I'm tempted to use mine tomorrow should be 4 weeks, but was planning on waiting until Saturday - am nervous for some reason :) ERPT have lovely lines!

I'm already in bed, went out today for a couple of hours and wanted to sleep in the car on the way home - now tucked up in bed am constantly tired and waking up super early and I too am suffering with those late night loo visits!

Have wonderful weekends! And hope that sickness holds of dux, I'm drinking ginger beer/ ginger and lemon tea as feel a bit green in the mornings

Hello ladies. Just popping in to say happy Easter! Very tired here but not much in terms of other symptoms. I have peed on a stick every day this week do far. Blush The lines are getting stronger though so feel reassured about that. Had to tell people at work already because of the nature of my job, which is a bit of a pain, but makes life easier in many ways. Tried to phone Drs last Wednesday but no answer (surgery a nightmare to get through to) and a delightful 14 hour shift yesterday (not helping with the exhaustion!), so will try and phone again after the Easter break. Hoping for a bit of rest time over the Easter break but we need to some major house cleaning / prep work prior to work being done on our house on the 4th of April, so will also have to do lots of manual labour /DIY over the next 4 days, which isn't very appealing!

I'm managed to avoid the nausea still thus far, but sure it will kick in soon, and feel sorry for you ladies already suffering. Plain biscuits were quite good last time I was pregnant if I remember, so worth trying when you get fed-up of eating ginger products!

Penguinepenguins · 25/03/2016 13:15

I've done another test this morning kitkat my name is penguine and I'm addicted to POAS and the line is still very similar... Fretting a little bit but trying to remind myself it is still early, and period should be due I think double checking tomorrow... No normal signs of that at all :)

Lots of pregnancy signs here sickness is a passing thing (had nothing last time) just wanted a dark line by now, but I am yet again being very impatient :) done lots of googling and seen enough to show that this can happen and babies arrive nine months later so am ok and although they are faint they are getting slightly darker and coming up much more quickly! Am banning myself from POAS until Tuesday :)

It's all driving me NUTS!

I think the only answer is to break into the mini eggs :)

Good luck with the DIY, I'm cleaning out my sewing room which is actually quite enjoyable but I've been looking at things rather than doing cleaning lol

We need a POAS Addiction Support Group! I'm terrible and it's only upsetting me because the lines are still sooo much lighter than the were last week and I'm still only getting 1-2 weeks on the Digi. It doesn't help to keep checking!!!

Penguinepenguins · 25/03/2016 14:19

I am not POAS again until Tuesday :)

Well I'm going to try really hard

Know it's happening just opened a cupboard and the smell of cat biscuits (in a plastic ziplock bag at back of cupboard) just made me want to hurl :) as did the pregnacare tablets

Feels so good wanting to be sick lol

I poas this morning, I hadn't done one since Sunday so I was getting agitated! I had to get cheapies because all the blinking pharmacies were shut because it's good Friday!

I'm really hoping I can get past this "not believing it's real because of fear it might not be real" which I'm living in a cycle of.

Penguinepenguins · 25/03/2016 15:28

First time round I found once the digitals were going up, I relaxed a bit and stopped POAS once it showed 3+

I thought testing early would make me feel more relaxed but it's sent me just as crazy than if I had waited until today :)

I just need to get the 3+ and the early scan done and then will feel much much better :)

Hormones do not help my crazy levels at all :)

Hi, do you mind if I join? I see a few familiar faces over here from recent TWW threads!
I'm 25, DC#1 EDD 3/12
I got my BFP yesterday at 3+6, so should be 4 weeks today. I got 1-2 weeks yesterday on a digi and will do another next week I think (as I'm generally addicted to POAS!!)

I've been so bloated and gassy (lovely!) for the last 2 weeks, cramps, sore/swollen boobs, no nausea or spotting.

I still can't quite believe it, and am so excited!! I'm trying so hard not to look at cute Christmas outfits and just take each day as it comes but I just know it's going to go so slowly!!

I'm really looking forward to sharing this with you all!

KitKat1985 · 26/03/2016 08:51

Welcome Devgal! Nice to have you here. :) I'm 30, and this will be baby number 2 for me (DD is now 18 months). My due date is 2nd December but DD was a few days early so I'm thinking late November may be more likely. I've got similar symptoms to you gassy, sore boobs and tired but no nausea yet. I keep peeing on sticks like a crazy woman! I only have one internet cheapie and one clearblue digi left. Will probably use the IC tomorrow and then the Clearblue on Monday as will be a week since I last peed on a Clearblue then, so I'm hoping the week indicator will have moved up. Debating whether to buy more tests or not. I know I'm being a bit bonkers but I do find it reassuring to see the lines getting stronger etc. I had a good friend who has one ectopic last year, and then managed to conceive again but resulted in a miscarriage at 10 weeks, and I think that is feeding into my anxiety a bit, as I know how much she's struggling to deal with it all.

KitKat1985 · 26/03/2016 08:54

That should say 'I have a good friend' not 'I had'.

Penguinepenguins · 26/03/2016 10:31

Welcome Devgal!! And congratulations!!

I'm trying really hard to not go crazy! The ERPT are all stil showing lines, DP swears they are getting darker but the clearblue digital is a BFN... The online calculators are all saying EDD of 2nd December so 4+1.

Trying to stay sensible in that if my HCG was 10 last Sunday and doubling every three days it may just still be below the 25 HCG required for the clear-blue. I am also constantly thirsty and drinking so much that I wonder if I'm just super hydrated it's nearly impossible for me to stretch to four hours not peeing! I also didn't get a BFP on a digital until nearly 5 weeks before and then my HCG levels went bonkers!

My Ovia App is also saying period is not due until next Tuesday so it might be the hormones are not jumping up as quickly, but pretty sure I had implantation pain this time last week. Do have cramps today but nothing AF like... Need to keep calm :)

I really hate these early days!

OP posts:
MrsMushrooms · 26/03/2016 10:59

Sorry about your BFN, Penguine but it's early days yet, it doesn't necessarily mean anything! My lines are still faint but still there so I'm staying hopeful, should be 6+1 today but as I have slightly longer cycles (28-31 days) it could be more like 5+5

PS I changed my name! Felt weird using my actual first name but I was Jade1212

Penguinepenguins · 26/03/2016 11:45

Thanks MrsMushrooms :) and love the new name :)

I just had another look at a non early response test I did this morning and there is actually a very faint line on that so as the digitals can be wrong so early on and the lines have been getting darker on the early response I feel much better now :) there is definetly a line.

I know I'm being crazy I had a MC in November which was rather nasty physically, chemical MC (at least one I think maybe 2) and last month a false positive so am just a bit over anxious :) large quantities of chocolate is required :) :)

OP posts:
MrsMushrooms · 26/03/2016 12:37

You've every right to be anxious!! We've been quite unlucky as well so far so I understand... But being worked up doesn't help anybody! Try to relax, nothing you can do now except wait and see (easier said than done!!)

orchidnap · 27/03/2016 18:58

Hi! Im also from november too but my due date is around the 30th nov - 1st december so I think its ok to be on both?

Today I made a roast dinner. The chicken turned out to be more than a bit pink (no idea how, it was in for the right amount of time, and right temp? and the yorkshires (which are my favourite part of a roast) made me heave! Boo :(

I got 2-3 on a CBD yesterday and was over the moon!

Is there a Facebook group for this board too?

KitKat1985 · 27/03/2016 20:11

Hello Orchidnap. Congrats on the BFP! It's fine to be on both boards. :) Is it your first baby? I think I might use my last CBD tomorrow and see if I'm now in the 2-3 week category too.

orchidnap · 27/03/2016 20:18

Hi! No, My son is 22 months old! He was late, which is why I thought I would join both boards!

I have made a facebook group! (hope thats ok?) Its a secret one so no one can see posts or members and it doesnt show up on searches! If you want to be added, message me the email address you use for facebook and Ill add you!

Apologies in advance for the cheesy name!

KitKat1985 · 27/03/2016 20:42

Ahh, I'm doing the opposite. DD (18 months) was born a bit early, so although my due date is Dec 2nd I'm expecting DC2 to make an appearance more like late November, so I'm following both boards too.

Sunnydays321 · 28/03/2016 06:45

Hi everyone. I feel like I'm jumping the gun a bit but I got a line (faint but definitely there) on an early superdrug test yesterday at only 10dpo.. So only 3+4 today! It's going to be a long few weeks. If this is really true il be due 8/12/16.

I'm 27, nearly 28. 1st pregnancy. Been off pill 9 months but only properly ttc 6 months, felt like a lifetime!

Since 6dpo iv felt different, and swore I had symptoms although I know technically they say it's same as af symptoms at this stage... Definitely not!

Things smelt weird, I washed my bed sheets twice and they smelt stale.. And I normally love fresh sheets.

Sore boobs in a different place to af sore and so much worse!

Low appetite and yet that am I hungry/do I feel sick feeling.

Tired!

Ovulation type pain as apprised to af type pain.

I only had one www stick left in house when I got bfp so will go out and get another today to reassure myself I'm not seeing things. X

SolomanDaisy · 28/03/2016 08:28

Hi everyone. I'm a bit shocked to be joining you here! I'm 39, have a 5 year-old who was born following years of fertility problems and a miscarriage. We decided this month to try for another and umm, yeah. After years of trying last time, I didn't have much hope at my age. I've had two positives at 13 and 14 DPO, I'm 4+1 today. Due December 4th, though DS was a week early.

I'm a bit nervous as I've had super strong lines in both my previous pregnancies as I had given up testing, so didn't test until a few days after my missed period. So I've never seen a faint-medium strong line before!

The reason I tested early was I had actual symptoms. I always thought they were imaginary, because I didn't get any. The first symptoms I had were at about 5 weeks and with DS I never got morning sickness. This time I felt implantation, a specific type of cramping that I've only ever felt in pregnancy and I've actually been feeling sick after breakfast.

It doesn't feel real, I don't feel convinced it will stick but I'm trying to be relaxed about it.

Devgal · 28/03/2016 08:29

So I spent the day with my parents and that was so hard not telling them, but next weekend I have a hen do to go to and it's going to be a nightmare. Day in a spa then cocktail making in the evening...!! Anyone else got tricky events coming up where they will find it hard to hide?

SolomanDaisy · 28/03/2016 08:42

I think with events like that you make the usual excuses, but assume everyone will guess and be too polite to say so!

Theaks · 28/03/2016 09:12

Hi all can I join. Got my bfp yesterday. I'm 32 and trying for first baby- however we have had a mc Dec 14 and a mmc aug 15. Really anxious and nervous this time round, told my mum yesterday and cried- it's horrible when you don't cry through joy but fear! I didn't need to tell her because she already knew! I'm roughly 4.3 at mo, symptoms are queasiness, tired, extremely sore nipples!!!

Theaks · 28/03/2016 09:18

Devgal, my last pregnancy I went on a spa day. For my treatment I filled out a form infront of my friends so when I had to tick the pregnant box I wrote secret at the side so they didn't say anything. Then I told my girlfriends I had thrush so I didn't want to go in the steam room etc as the heat would make it worse! They bought it. I sat at the side of the jacuzzi and dipped in my toes.
For the alcohol I'm not sure what excuses you can use! Depending on what treatment you have the therapist might not recommend alcohol drinking.

KitKat1985 · 28/03/2016 09:27

Welcome Sunnydays and Solomon! It's nice to have some new people start to trickle in. I'm not surprised you're are still in shock Solomon. It must be weird to go from difficulties TTC first time around to getting pregnant first time this time around.

I have a friend who spent nearly 4 years to conceive her DD. After she was born her and her husband decided not to go back on contraception as it had taken so long to conceive their DD, but she then got pregnant again with DD2 really quickly, so there was only about a year between then! They decided to try for a third but it never happened. As she went into her mid-40's they hadn't been using contraception for about 10 years and no other success, and their girls were both moving into secondary school, so they had long since moved on from the idea but just never bothered going back on contraception. Until last year she suddenly felt tired and sick, and yes, found out she had somehow managed to conceive again at 47! Baby was born in January (she's now 48) and both Mum and baby are well.

Fertility is such an odd thing sometimes!

Devgal I had to admit we have told close family already purely because if the worst happens and I miscarried I'd like them around for support anyway. I'm not superstitious though but I know some people are about these things. Re: the hen night, I think like Soloman said is all you can do is make the usual excuses, but don't be surprised if people guess. Not quite the same but I do quite a risky job and there's several aspects to it I can't do when pregnant, so I tried making excuses last time but everyone guessed especially when I was caught vomiting in the toilets so this time around I've just told them but asked them to keep it quiet until me and DH are ready for the world to know. I think you will really struggle with spa and cocktail making as there's quite a few spa things you can't do when pregnant either, so I think you might get a few people guessing to be honest.

Took my last Clearblue Digi this morning (a week since last one) and I'm reassured to see the weeks indicator is now 2-3. I guess I need to accept that this is really happening and call the doctors next week!
