December 2016... Babies

1002 replies

Penguinepenguins · 21/03/2016 18:30

Doesn't seem to be a thread yet for babies due in December, possibly because I'm crazy and POAS really really early but a line is a line and today was my "double check" second day and a BFP it was again!

I sadly had a miscarriage in November found the July babies thread a huge help in my early days of pregnancy and the ladies were very supportive after the MC - I've just returned to mumsnet under a new name as I was finding it a bit painful at one point and went a bit cold turkey from it all!

So here is a bit about me

I'm 38
This will be baby number one for me
EDD 3rd December (know when I ovulated been using the monitor - the app ok many apps I've consulted this morning confirm this as the date

Very nervous after last time but want to enjoy every minute I can, I loved being pregnant before and want to do all the same things as before just keeping everything crossed for a sticky one.

Who is ready to join me Smile

Oh the nausea Sad. Interrupted sleep and awful dreams. But the nausea...

I'm 33, pregnancy #1 for DP and I. And the way I feel, it's gonna be the last!

cnchapmanxx · 24/04/2016 21:54

Apart from farting like a trooper I've just got sore boobs, tiredness and every bone in my body is aching.. I know I shouldn't wish this but morning sickness just so I know everything is ok?!? Grin feeling a bit useless but then again I'm only 5 + 3 haha! Anyone else feel like this? Xxx

firawla · 24/04/2016 22:01

spacedinosaur there seems to be loads of us in this thread going to Watford! Maybe we should arrange a meet up at some point, once we're all a bit further along?!

shopaholic85 · 24/04/2016 22:12

My re-intro: I'm 31, 2nd pregnancy for DH and me (1st ended in an mc in Jan '16). I live in Bath (if it sticks, will have baby at RUH), but work in London during the week.

Good luck to all of those waiting for scans. I had my private one today and saw the little heart flickering away. Thought I was 7w4d, but baby measured 7w1d, so not too far out. The sonographer couldn't see any cause for the brown spotting last week. It's helped massively with the anxiety and made the sickness more bearable.

swancourt · 24/04/2016 22:57

Definitely rider! :)

rider1975 · 24/04/2016 23:11

Congrats shopaholic you must be so relieved! Such a big step to see the hb. Wishing those with scans tomorrow the best of luck

JojoChuHi · 24/04/2016 23:34

Hi, you guys really sound like a broad range of symptoms! So crazy what this peppercorn/raspberry/cauliflower can get up to so quickly!

I'm just feeling the sore boobs and can't sleep (hence the 11.30 post!) but I guess both are good practice for down the line?!

This is all new to me as first ever time preggy, how do you guys know when you're having cravings? Versus just deciding to eat something different? It's always intrigued me so I'm kind of curious to experience it!

and spacedinoand jbailey I'm in Herts too, over east at the moment but hoping to move west mid of the year (EDD 23rd Dec I think...) Not sure which hospital yet, I was born in Watford, so maybe that's a good choice!

Mejse · 25/04/2016 05:51

Good luck to everyone having their scan today! I will be thinking of you guys.

I am also a hater of my commute. I live near the city center of the capital here but I have to travel an hour and a half out to the middle of nowhere to get to university. It's the only place I can study where I don't need to be fluent in danish.

I am so bloated today I am wondering how I will get through the day without anyone seeing me and suspecting

Anewleaf · 25/04/2016 06:55

Morning everyone! Hope everyone's feeling okay. Good luck to ladies getting their scans today! Quick reintro

29 from West Yorkshire this will be #2. dd1 is 2.3 so will be nearly 3 when newbie arrives. edd 25.12.16. Haven't even called the docs yet... But guessing I have plenty of time.

symptoms: vivid dreams, gassy, thirsty and shivery at night...
I can't remember who mentioned having hg in their last pregnancy I did as well and am praying that I won't have to go through it again!

Usually get a lift into work and it takes about 20 mins so not much of a commute. I teach and by the end of each day I'm shattered anyway! xx

Helbelle75 · 25/04/2016 07:02

Morning anewleaf and everyone.
I slept really badly and have a cracking headache today. Not sure how I'll get through 5 full lessons today. And I'm supposed to be at the dentist later but might have to cancel.

flyawayblue · 25/04/2016 07:44

Thinking of those having scans today x

Sunnydays321 · 25/04/2016 07:52

Hi everyone. Seeing as though everyone is doing re-intros I'm 27 (for another few weeks) this will be 1st baby. I'm 7+4 edd 8/12/16. Live in Devon. Nausea has really started this week, only been sick twice but completely out of the blue with no warning... I've been on annual leave for the last week so I'm really worried about going my back to work today and vomming unexpectedly.. Let's just say I'm in the baby business and I'm worried I will be mid appointment and have to run out/vom in a bin. 😳 I don't mind telling my colleagues but I don't want to tell patients.

The sore boobs are calming down a bit now, and only normal level of tired but the insomnia is driving me mad, but otherwise ok. Oh and the sleep talking/walking is worse! And I really haven't been as emotional as I thought I would be. I'm usually a bit of a crier so this has surprised me. My only sob in the last 8 weeks was when I felt sick and there was only one meal I could face eating and DH said he didn't fancy it... I cried! Poor DH. He never realised how important an opinion on dinner could be. Anyone else had any odd cries?

X

Morning everyone,

We need to start a new thread, as this will stop taking new messages as 1,000

Does someone else want to do the honours and then post the link here?

Hope everyone is doing well this morning, I had a scary moment of no line Saturday (loads of symptoms) been pancking ever since did a early response today and there is a line, but faint again 😬 I've been drinking peeing for England looks like water so am sure it's my level of hydration but anxious after so many MC. Hence I am passing the batton of thread starting to someone else :)

Morning all. Scan was as I thought - no longer pregnant. I feel okay. They could see the empty sac - looked bigger than Thursday's scan, but clearly empty. They want to take bloods in two weeks and have asked me to wait until after a period to try again.

A fitting place in some ways for me as the thread is almost full, so I'll stick around until it is, but won't follow you to the next. I sincerely wish every one of you a happy, healthy, long (but not too long!) pregnancy, and I expect I'll see you around the boards. Take care, all x

SolomanDaisy · 25/04/2016 09:23

Sorry to hear that Bertie, hope you're doing ok.

MangeTooot · 25/04/2016 10:14

So sorry Bertie Flowers
Penguine it sounds like you have had a tough time over the weekend, I hope your anxiety is unfounded Flowers

PenguinePenguins · 25/04/2016 10:34

Sorry to hear this Bertie, be kind to yourself Flowers it may take a while for your body to return to normal, but your know when you are ready to try again X

Thanks KitKat

Mange hoping for a happy outcome, feel very sick this morning! 5th time lucky I'm hoping :)

Will find you all in a couple of weeks, just need to try and think this is not happening I think, whilst doing all the right things otherwise I'm going to go nuts before my scan in two weeks.

Think after I see a scan :) I will be in a better place to really celebrate and enjoy it!

See you soon :)

So sorry Bertie I hope you are OK and get lots of rest and support Flowers

swancourt · 25/04/2016 10:42

So sorry bertie.

By the way, you should just try again whenever you want to. I conceived my DD1 the cycle after an early miscarriage (no period in between - I had very long cycles at that time) and am pregnant now without having waited after my last miscarriage. Of course, if you want to wait, then you should. For me I just wanted to be pregnant. I asked the doctor if the advice to wait a cycle was medical advice, and she said no, it made no difference to the baby, only to the dating. If you know when you ovulate it's not even a problem for that.

So, if you want to go again immediately, you can and it will be safe. But of course I absolutely understand if it all still feels too raw and you want to wait. I wish you the absolute best of luck xxxxx

rider1975 · 25/04/2016 10:46

So sorry Bertie - having the suspicion doesn't lessen the pain of the confirmation. Take good care Flowers

sueevone · 15/05/2016 21:33

Hi ladies
Please can I joinSmile, I'll be 8 weeks tomorrow (1st time mum) with a EED of 26th December. Suffering with nausea at the mo but after a miscarriage 18 months ago it's reassuring to have the symptoms.
