December 2016... Babies

Penguinepenguins · 21/03/2016 18:30

Doesn't seem to be a thread yet for babies due in December, possibly because I'm crazy and POAS really really early but a line is a line and today was my "double check" second day and a BFP it was again!

I sadly had a miscarriage in November found the July babies thread a huge help in my early days of pregnancy and the ladies were very supportive after the MC - I've just returned to mumsnet under a new name as I was finding it a bit painful at one point and went a bit cold turkey from it all!

So here is a bit about me

I'm 38
This will be baby number one for me
EDD 3rd December (know when I ovulated been using the monitor - the app ok many apps I've consulted this morning confirm this as the date

Very nervous after last time but want to enjoy every minute I can, I loved being pregnant before and want to do all the same things as before just keeping everything crossed for a sticky one.

Who is ready to join me Smile

Penguin I'm so sorry! I hope you get some answers soon. Thinking about you!

KitKat1985 · 30/03/2016 08:57

Firstly I'm so sorry Penguine. I do hope you get some answers soon. I can't imagine how heart-broken you are to be going through this again. Flowers

NotAClue I don't think your mad for not telling your husband yet. You probably just needed a couple of days for it to sink it for you first. I wouldn't worry about waiting for the 'right' moment to tell him though. I'm sure he'll be happy and excited whenever you tell him.

NuttyPops congrats and welcome! I also have a similar aged DD (18 months). Already panicking about the logistics of managing a toddler and a baby!

Welcome and congrats also Fiddlesticks. We're EDD buddies as my period calculator things also says my EDD is 2nd December (although DD was a bit early so I'm anticipating late November being more likely).

I really, really need to try and get hold of my GP today to do a midwifes referral. I tried about 10 times yesterday (and I didn't even bother trying until the afternoon - as I knew they would be hectic in the morning post bank-holiday) and they are just permanently engaged. If I can't get through this morning I'm just going to pop in when I go into town later.

NotAClue82 · 30/03/2016 09:32

Hey guys!

Welcome NuttyPops!
Well, I told my husband! The right moment never arrived so in the end it just went like "Hey, pass me the salt please. Also I'm pregnant". He was Shock ShockShock but also Grin Grin Grin, so all is good!

Is anyone else having symptoms yet? I'm nauseous, have reflux & an incredible sense of smell!

TipBoov · 30/03/2016 10:33

Hi all, I'm pregnant after IVF, going by the transfer date the due date should be 6th Dec.

I'm feeling sick and everything smells like dogs Confused I gagged on a glass of water yesterday!

NotAClue82 · 30/03/2016 13:22

Congrats Tipboov, is it your first?

KitKat1985 · 30/03/2016 13:28

Wahoo! Congrats Tipboov. All pregnancies are exciting but an IVF baby especially so. Two of our nephews are IVF babies (they were twins)! I bet you are over the moon!

duxb · 30/03/2016 13:46

Been to the GP today to get my midwife referral and by the time it comes round I will be 8+6. Here we go again! My husband won't be attending this time with me as its only been a few months since we sat through the family history questions the first time round.

Boobs still not particularly sore but very bloated and gassy and at 5+5 I feel like the nausea is starting - haven't actually been sick but swallowing an awful lot and feeling like I'm needing to eat more little and often to keep it at bay.

Nice to say so many more BFPs - congratulations all, it's a very exciting time!

KitKat1985 · 30/03/2016 18:40

I hope no-one minds but I've started to compile a stats list. I know it helped me keep track of who everyone us the last time I was on one of these threads a couple of years ago:

StarkyTheDirewolf · 30/03/2016 18:50

Awwwww thanks kitkat you are a star!

fiddlesticks123 · 30/03/2016 18:54

kitkat that's awesome!! Took me a while to figure out team yellow but I got there!!

Speaking of team yellow who is and who isn't going to find out the sex of their baby? We're still undecided, having previously both said we would want to know, DH is now wondering if we should keep it as a surprise! I have suggested the compromise that we find out and only tell close family so that it's a surprise for everyone else!!

Theaks · 30/03/2016 18:55

Very organised. My edd so far is 2nd December. What's team yellow?
Symptom wise I have sore nipples and odd waves of queasiness! Worse was on Sunday! I'm getting cramping but it's only on a evening. Which is strange. Got a banging headache and haven't slept for the last 2 nights. Boo! One more day at work and I have a long weekend!
I contacted the EPU and they have booked me in for a early scan on the 8th April due to my worries. Hope it makes me feel better

Theaks · 30/03/2016 18:56

Right getting team yellow now!

Theaks · 30/03/2016 18:58

We won't be finding out. Would like a surprise.

KitKat1985 · 30/03/2016 19:06

StarkyTheDirewolf - EDD 25th Nov to 1st Dec. Team yellow.
Duxb - EDD 28th Nov onwards. Team yellow.

Orchidnap - EDD 30th Nov - 1st Dec. Team yellow.
MrsJoJo - EDD 28th Nov - 2nd Dec. Team yellow.
Fiddlesticks123 - EDD 2nd Dec. Team yellow.
KitKat1985 - EDD 2nd Dec. Team yellow.
Theaks. EDD 2nd Dec. Team yellow.
Devgal - EDD 3rd Dec. Team yellow.

Nuttypops - EDD 4th Dec. Team yellow.
TipBoov - EDD 6th Dec. Team yellow.
NotAClue82 - EDD 7th Dec. Team yellow.
Sunnydays321 - EDD 8th Dec. Team yellow.
MrsMushrooms. Team yellow.

With Theaks due date now added in. :) Yes sorry team yellow means sex unknown, which may change team pink / blue as people may choose to find out what they are having.

I probably will find out again. I loved finding out at the 20 week scan with DH, and it was a much calmer more enjoyable moment than I think it would of been at the end of a chaotic labour.

StarkyTheDirewolf · 30/03/2016 19:14

I think we've decided that if we can, we would like to find out, but will probably keep it a secret and not tell people in RL. But Dh changes his mind and then so do I. For some reason I want to find out privately on my own, so may ask if sonographer can write it down for me to look at later. Don't know why! It will be unlikely to come to that I reckon!

Anyone thinking of having an early scan?

TipBoov · 30/03/2016 19:17

Not a clue - no it's not my first, I also have a 4 year old, but it's a big enough gap that I've forgotten most things!

kitkat I'm so happy, but I still POAS every day just to be sure 😂. We had two embryos transferred, but I don't find out how many we're successfully implanted until our 8 week scan in 4 weeks. The list is fab, thanks for putting it together.

duxb is your nausea worse in the morning? I keep tictacs in my car to keep the nausea at bay while I'm driving to work but i don't think it's helping much really.

fiddlesticks I think we'll find out the sex, my husband definitely wants to. I think it helps make the whole thing feel more real. We found out last time, and it was nice buying things knowing we were having a boy IYSWIM.

Good luck with your scan theaks, not long to wait.

I have a dull pulling feeling in my pelvis, I think it's probably just stretching but it's definitely uncomfortable. Also I haven't got much appetite and just want to eat rubbish but I'm making a conscious effort to eat properly.. Easier said than done!

NotAClue82 · 30/03/2016 19:35

Hey guys! Great list KitKat!

I probably won't find out - I didn't last time & it was pretty magical finding out during the (well, after!) the birth! Having said that, I actually wanted to find it during that pregnancy but my husband preferred not to, so I guess I would be happy either way:-)

Sunnydays321 · 30/03/2016 19:49

Fab thanks kitkat. I'm feeling a bit paranoid still at the moment about something going wrong, only 3+6?so me and DH not really talking about whether we will find out etc... I know this won't make a difference to outcome, and I'm totally not superstitious... Just feels weird talking about something that might still be hypothetical. Having said this I'm sure DH will want to find out.

Tipboov... I'm getting pulling, ovulation type pains too... Not quite af type but still a bit uncomfy, definitely something occurring in there. Glad to hear others are too, even though I know it's notmal.

Starky, think we will have early scan, just can't wait till 11-14 weeks. And only about £40 which we would happily spend on dinner out etc so I think it's worth the money, although I know it still doesn't mean everything will be fine by some reassurance.

I'm the latest edd at the moment, waiting for some others to join with later edd than me! I shouldn't have been impatient and found out so early!

Just out of interest I did a 10iu early superdrug today, and a "so called 10iu" IC... Check out the difference. Those ICs are definitely definitely not 10iu!! I did get 20 for about £2.50 though so still going to wee on them occasionally for reassurance! X

NotAClue82 · 30/03/2016 21:34

Hey Sunny,
Just wanted to say that my IC also gives me only the faintest of lines! Much fainter than the other tests I did! (I'm 4 weeks now). So maybe that's normal?

Nuttypops · 30/03/2016 21:44

Congratulations everyone, so lovely to see so many Dec babies due!

Kitkat, I am with you on the concern about a 2 year old and a new born. I thought it would take longer so was hoping for a 2017 baby so this is a bit of an earlier one than anticipated! I am sure you and I were on a ttc group together a few years ago? Although I was using a different mn name then.

Thanks for the list! I don't think we will find out the gender. We didn't with DD and it was such a nice surprise after a rather gruelling few days of labour.

MrsJoJo · 30/03/2016 23:24

Thanks kitkat...

I've seen my GP today so it's all official, filled out my hospital referral form (because I'd rather not go to our closest one and another local hospital has a lovely new maternity unit) and have my booking appointment with the midwife scheduled on 3 May...

All that's left to do now is monitor my blood pressure which is frequently boarder line high and keep my fingers crossed for five weeks.

I have a lovely receptionist at my Dr's who has worked there for years and she knows some of my story (I won't bore you now as I'm sure I'll share nuggets along the way). She was so pleased for me, so lovely to hear congrats!

It's all sinking in now! We'll be team yellow until the end although with one son and two stepsons everyone will assume we want a girl - I honestly don't mind, all I want is a healthy & happy baby!

orchidnap · 30/03/2016 23:29

We are definitely going to find out the sex. We hit 16 weeks the week of my DS birthday so it works out a good time to be able to tell family. I couldn't cope with not knowing.
Great idea with the stats list Kitkat!

I've also set up a fb group if anyone wants to join :)

Devgal · 30/03/2016 23:31

Wow kitkat that's an awesome list!! We are undecided about finding out at the moment, so will keep you posted! I have my booking in appointment sorted for 3 weeks which is mega exciting!!

Sunny I'm still POAS daily and ic are coming up much fainter than any others! Don't worry!!

orchidnap · 30/03/2016 23:45

I'm also madly poas! I got this today... over the moon!
