December 2016... Babies

Doesn't seem to be a thread yet for babies due in December, possibly because I'm crazy and POAS really really early but a line is a line and today was my "double check" second day and a BFP it was again!

I sadly had a miscarriage in November found the July babies thread a huge help in my early days of pregnancy and the ladies were very supportive after the MC - I've just returned to mumsnet under a new name as I was finding it a bit painful at one point and went a bit cold turkey from it all!

So here is a bit about me

I'm 38
This will be baby number one for me
EDD 3rd December (know when I ovulated been using the monitor - the app ok many apps I've consulted this morning confirm this as the date

Very nervous after last time but want to enjoy every minute I can, I loved being pregnant before and want to do all the same things as before just keeping everything crossed for a sticky one.

Who is ready to join me Smile

Reintro from me: early thirties, this is #2 and we have a gorgeous, cheeky DS who is 2. 6+2 today so very early days. No real symptoms except very mild occasional nausea and generalised greed Grin.

Feefeefs · 24/04/2016 17:43

Fingers crossed for you cho, bertie and southdowns tomorrow. And for you on Tuesday rider.

ChoChang · 24/04/2016 18:09

Thanks all. Best of luck to everyone having scans in the next few days. southdown I've also retreated back to bed. Not through nausea but can't keep my eyes open. Shattered as a pancake at the moment. Hope the sickness eases off for those suffering. I've had general nausea combined with being constantly hungry, no actual sickness as yet.

Azure83 · 24/04/2016 18:17

Hi all, my recap: 32yo, living in SE London. DC1 for us, I came off the pill in Feb after 13 years, got our BFP on Apr 1st! I'm 7 weeks today so we've graduated to a raspberry sized baby Smile

Symptoms have been manageable so far, mostly x-large painful boobs, bloating, and heartburn more recenty.

SouthDownsSunshine · 24/04/2016 18:18

greed generalised greed Grin

flyawayblue · 24/04/2016 18:22

Hello.

Taking my first tentative steps into this thread. Tested yesterday evening after feeling tired and sick for a few days. Been trying for a year with one chemical so scared this won't stick. Have one dd who is two.

Vb87 · 24/04/2016 18:33

Recap on me - 28 yr old, married, DD age 9 DSS age 6, 6+5 weeks pregnant, from Lancashire. I didn't have anything like NM when I was pregnant with my first, this place is amazing. Because my last pregnancy was 9 years ago, everything feels new and scary. Nice to have all you lovely ladies to talk to Thanks

barkingtreefrog · 24/04/2016 18:36

Chang I'm 7+2 today as well Grin
Fingers crossed for your scan tomorrow, there are lots of innocent possible reasons for spotting but it doesn't stop your heart skipping a few beats when you see it Sad. Thanks
Good luck as well sunshine and Bertie

SpaceDinosaur · 24/04/2016 18:38

Hi JBailey you're in my neck of the woods! I will also be at Watford Smile

So, according to my app, at 4 +2 I have a poppyseed and it looks like a mouldy cauliflower... See Confused

What's a chemical pregnancy please?

NotAClue82 · 24/04/2016 18:43

Hi! Recap from me: I'm 7+4 weeks pregnant now & I already have one preschooler. Been feeling very nauseous and have been sick a couple of times, too. The only thing that helps is eating! I'm going to get very fat...

I've told a few people yesterday which was really lovely and made it all feel real.

Hope you are all well!

MrsG32 · 24/04/2016 18:52

Hiiii well I've only just found out I'm pregnant with baby no 2...still in disbelief! Due date approximately 28th December - same date as DS!!! I took a clear blue digital test this morning it said I'm 2-3 weeks pregnant. My symptoms are really strong...I didn't find out until 6-7 weeks along with DS as started to feel like I do now. I was chronically sick from 6 weeks until birth with DS sick 4-5 times a day every day...I'm not being sick currently but I feel really really sick and have gone off tea and coffee already and all my normal foods can only eat bland food like pizza. Have a strange desire for eggs though fried egg on toast not a craving as such more just a need for the type of food...anyway the symptoms are definitely not in my head I'm trying my best to keep going but worried about being so sick again...also worried about feeling like this so early in pregnancy? Anyone else feel the same? Xx

underrugsswept · 24/04/2016 19:26

Haha, Dinosaur, I love that little cauliflower baby. I think you've found your bump nickname already Grin

swancourt · 24/04/2016 19:28

Wow, trying to keep up!

Really, really good luck to chang anybody else having a scan tomorrow and so sorry to bertie and those of you experiencing losses or having had them recently.

I saw earlier that people were talking about nightmares. I had an absolutely hideous nightmare two nights ago - so bad I don't even want to write it down. I usually have sex dreams when I'm pregnant so I'm hoping these return instead of nightmares, ha ha!

Re-introduction for me, although I only came on a couple of days ago. I'm 33, live in Buckinghamshire, work full time in London but with seriously flexible hours so I go to London Mon-Weds, work at home during school hours on Thurs, and skive off every Friday with my smallest DD. I work a lot when the DDs are in bed to catch it up. Husband is a teacher who works locally. Our DDs are 4 and 2 (5 in July; 3 in August). This is my fifth pregnancy - had a chemical pregnancy, conceived DD1 straight after, then conceived DD2, then had a mc at 8 weeks this March just gone. Am only 4 weeks 1 day, I think.

I also hate my commute!

A chemical pregnancy is an early miscarriage spacedinosaur - in which you lose the baby before the time a baby could be seen on an ultrasound (so the only 'proof' you have of it is the chemical reaction of the pregnancy test). It can be chromosomal or simply because the baby didn't finish the implantation process properly.

Poor you with the sickness mrsg. I also get very bad sickness but only up to 15 weeks. Didn't get any nausea with my mc so will feel reassured by the sickness if/when it comes this time. But also, it is absolutely horrific, so I'm nervous about it returning.

Theaks · 24/04/2016 19:32

Wow lots to catch up with!!
My re-intro, I'm 33, 3rd pregnancy 1st baby. Had a MC at 6 weeks in December 14 and a MMC at 9 weeks in August 2014. I'm currently 8 weeks (well tomorrow!) baby is the size of a raspberry apparently, I love raspberries! Hoping this time will be our time, it's sad when you can't get excited about a pregnancy due to bad experiences. Symptoms, sensitive nipples, tiredness and oh the sickness! Hoping it's a good sign as I wasn't sick or queasy with last 2 pregnancies.

Welcome to new ladies on the thread!
And sending love to ladies going through worries! It's bloody awful x

OurGrowingFamily · 24/04/2016 19:41

Hi :) I'm 20 and a couple of weeks pregnant with baby number #2, I'm not quite sure when exactly I'm due as not had the scan yet, but I estimate mid-late December. :)
Nice to know I'm not the only one who knows they're pregnant crazy early lol!
How's everyone doing with early pregnancy symptoms?Smile

nightcap · 24/04/2016 20:26

Only posted mine recently but - 39, East Sussex, due 19th with DC3.

the nausea has kicked up a notch today, haven't been sick but just feel generally disgusting! Slightly dreading work tomorrow...

rider1975 · 24/04/2016 20:41

Feeling for those who hate their commute. I currently ride a scooter from Heathrow to The Strand but guess I'll switch to the train at some point. Deffo will get a baby on board badge when the time comes as train is sardine city

lilydaisyrose · 24/04/2016 20:48

Am currently eating fried eggs on toast - thanks to MrsG32!!!

swancourt · 24/04/2016 20:55

rider I also work on The Strand ...

MrsG32 · 24/04/2016 20:57

OurGrowingFamily I knew days after I told my husband he was like you're nuts but I just knew. And maaaan are my symptoms kicking in. My gums were bleeding this morning??? I thought my last pregnancy was symptom strong but this one is already on par to the last one and the symptoms kicked in 7 weeks then!! Lilydaisyrose that's so funny hahaha!!! How nice though?? Xx

MrsG32 · 24/04/2016 20:58

Theaks I think it's a really good sign that your symptoms are really strong and the sickness has kicked in xxx

MrsG32 · 24/04/2016 20:59

Thanks swancourt it was so hard throwing up when heavily pregnant it used to come all times of day like 3am and I'd have to run to the toilet. I remember having my head down the loo at 6am xmas day xx

OurGrowingFamily · 24/04/2016 21:19

MrsG23
Haha i know what you mean! some people are just very in tune to their bodies. Ah yes - the bleeding gums! I haven't had them yet in this pregnancy. But in my last I had them in both early& late pregnancy. I found a sensodyne toothbrush helped to massively reduce the bleeding gums. :)

rider1975 · 24/04/2016 21:37

Swan - Grin that's a real coincidence! we'll have to hook up for low caffeine drink

Thought this was good news www.bbc.com/news/health-36109759
