December 2016... Babies

1002 replies

Penguinepenguins · 21/03/2016 18:30

Doesn't seem to be a thread yet for babies due in December, possibly because I'm crazy and POAS really really early but a line is a line and today was my "double check" second day and a BFP it was again!

I sadly had a miscarriage in November found the July babies thread a huge help in my early days of pregnancy and the ladies were very supportive after the MC - I've just returned to mumsnet under a new name as I was finding it a bit painful at one point and went a bit cold turkey from it all!

So here is a bit about me

I'm 38
This will be baby number one for me
EDD 3rd December (know when I ovulated been using the monitor - the app ok many apps I've consulted this morning confirm this as the date

Very nervous after last time but want to enjoy every minute I can, I loved being pregnant before and want to do all the same things as before just keeping everything crossed for a sticky one.

Who is ready to join me Smile

Okay. I think I'm out. Sorry to keep going back and forth. Have had to put a pad on now. Will snuggle up and watch some crap TV. Good luck to everyone else :)

SolomanDaisy · 22/04/2016 08:36

Congratulations penguine, brilliant news.

Welcome cnchapman.

Bertie, sorry to hear that. I hope you're not in pain.

PenguinePenguins · 22/04/2016 08:36

Thanks for the nice messages :) am keeping everything crossed and not POAS again for a week, because the comparing of lines will send me mental. My symptoms have gone into over drive since starting progesterone, so it's going to be fun over here :)

For those going through worrying times, I'm sorry still not read the entire post please make sure you get the support you need - having a miscarriage is one of the hardest and loneliest things to go through, no matter when it happens - getting the right help is so important. Flowers

Thinking of you, Bertie x

BertieBotts · 22/04/2016 08:42

No, I'm not in pain. It just feels exactly like a period at the moment. I'm okay. I am sad but I'm not bereft. If it wasn't meant to be, that is okay. This is a less traumatic way to find out :) I have support - thank you.

If anybody knows - I am somewhere between 4 and 5 weeks - is anything likely to be visible? I think I would rather not see, but it would be better to be prepared. Sorry if this isn't the right place to ask.

Vb87 · 22/04/2016 08:43

Bertie - ThanksThanks

n0ne · 22/04/2016 08:56

Hi Bertie, I mc'ed back in Oct at 12w (development stopped @ 7w) and even then I couldn't 'see' anything. It was an awful lot of big clots, but nothing recognisable. I hope it's swift and painless Thanks

KitKat1985 · 22/04/2016 09:06

Penguins it's lovely to see you back. I really, really hope it's a sticky bean for you this time around.

Bertie could you phone and get another early scan? I know bleeding isn't a good sign but it doesn't always mean a MC and the scan yesterday sounded hopeful? xx

BertieBotts · 22/04/2016 09:12

I probably can, KitKat, but I think I'll wait and see. They said if it's up to the same level of bleeding as a period I should go to the practice, just wait until Monday if it's the weekend, but if it's more than a period and the practice is closed then to the hospital. I might phone in an hour or so to see what they advise as their phone line closes at 12 today (1 hour ahead of UK here). I'm not actually bleeding constantly but it's heavier and fresher than it was. I know that it's not ectopic, and the chances are it will just happen naturally so there isn't any immediate worry to me.

I doubt that they will be able to tell me anything anyway as it would only have been 24 hours. I'd rather not have blood taken unless it's necessary really. And poking around in there with speculums etc doesn't seem like a smart idea either.

KitKat1985 · 22/04/2016 09:15

Oh I'm sorry Bertie. Flowers Take care of yourself today. xxx

rider1975 · 22/04/2016 09:16

Totally Penguins - really wish it goes well for you.
Barking - I feel your pain - I MC'd around this time and every day is now just a countdown to my next scan (next Tuesday) when the hb should be detectable.
I've been bloated beyond reason - besides super sore boobs - bloating/gas has been my friend since day 1 Grin

TinySalmon · 22/04/2016 09:41

Oh bertie ThanksThanksThanksThanks Thinking of you today xx

Lamington85 · 22/04/2016 09:43

Hi ladies, can I join in? I'm 30 and this is my first pregnancy EDD is 20th December. I'm at 5 weeks 3 days. I'm very far from home and a bit overwhelmed so trying to soak up as much info as possible! Xx

firawla · 22/04/2016 09:47

Lovely news penguin! Welcome back, and welcome to the other new bfps too Flowers

So sorry bertie, it must be so worrying, glad you have some support there Flowers

TinySalmon · 22/04/2016 10:01

Welcome lamington! I'm guessing, from your name, and mentioning you are far from home that you are an Australian? :)

Lamington85 · 22/04/2016 10:06

Close! TinySalmon - New Zealand, but have been in the uk for nearly 6 years now!

Blueside · 22/04/2016 10:12

Bertie have pm'd you. x

BertieBotts · 22/04/2016 10:40

Thanks all xx

weechops · 22/04/2016 11:28

Oh bertie I'm so sorry lovely. I've been where you are now and before 5 weeks the most you would see is a larger than normal clot. Xx

SouthDownsSunshine · 22/04/2016 11:39

Oh bertie don't give up hope yet. I've been bleeding for a fortnight and still going... if there's no pain and heavy (more than a period) there's hope. Flowers

penguin did they test why you were mcing before prescribing progesterone? Noone here will prescribe it, even though I've had 3 mc. I wish they would.

cnchapmanxx · 22/04/2016 11:46

Sorry bertie Flowers hope your ok lovley!

Girls what is cm meant to be like st this point? I'm really dry 5+1 nothing at all. Then sometimes I get waves of cm! Xx

Brisgirl · 22/04/2016 12:46

Yay penguine brilliant news! Welcome back.

Essybird total oversharing but I could have written that exact same post.

The bloating is Ugh - I've just lost all my baby belly and then some from my last pregnancy and beyond and enjoyed that for about 2.5 minutes before I started looking 20 weeks pregnant again.

Babydreaming · 22/04/2016 12:47

Sorry to hear about your bleeding Bertie! I know it must be a really difficult time for you at the moment. Try and treat yourself and do something nice.

I went for an early scan this morning. I thought I was 6w6d but apparently I'm 7w2! I could see the heartbeat going strong an the crl was 11mm. So amazing to see it!!

To anybody who hasn't been feeling many symptoms, try not to worry! I haven't been sick at all and I feel fine, just occasionally a little dizzy. I've also been working night shifts so obviously the lack of sleep isn't causing too many problems for those worried about insomnia!

ScottishGirlx · 22/04/2016 13:02

Penguine congratulations!! Yaaay I'm so pleased to see you again. You really have had a strange month but I'm glad it's ending on a positive for you!

Bertie sorry to hear you've had some bleeding. Hope you're doing ok today and fingers crossed everything is fine.

Dub we've got the same scan date, I'm also Fri 13th!! Really excited but also really apprehensive too.

Haven't been posting on here much but I'm keeping up to date with everyone's news!

I'm now 8+4. Symptoms are minimal which I'm grateful for! So tired though. I managed to climb a mountain last weekend with DP though!! 5 hours of constant moaning from me but I did it! Haha. My stomach has the bloated look constantly now, even first thing in the morning.

Oh and we've started telling family which has been amazing! It's so good to speak about the news to other people after holding it in for so long.
