December 2016... Babies

1002 replies

Penguinepenguins · 21/03/2016 18:30

Doesn't seem to be a thread yet for babies due in December, possibly because I'm crazy and POAS really really early but a line is a line and today was my "double check" second day and a BFP it was again!

I sadly had a miscarriage in November found the July babies thread a huge help in my early days of pregnancy and the ladies were very supportive after the MC - I've just returned to mumsnet under a new name as I was finding it a bit painful at one point and went a bit cold turkey from it all!

So here is a bit about me

I'm 38
This will be baby number one for me
EDD 3rd December (know when I ovulated been using the monitor - the app ok many apps I've consulted this morning confirm this as the date

Very nervous after last time but want to enjoy every minute I can, I loved being pregnant before and want to do all the same things as before just keeping everything crossed for a sticky one.

Who is ready to join me Smile

Yay insertwitticismhere so nice to have a few of us in the same hospital!

Not sleeping v well here either, and is anyone else feeling light headed a lot of the time? No nausea yet just feeling a bit dizzy and spaced out although it might be related to the lack of sleep too?!

firawla · 21/04/2016 09:39

Welcome swancourt, congrats! And sorry to hear about your miscarriage Flowers

SolomanDaisy · 21/04/2016 12:30

Congratulations swancourt. It must be a shock so soon after your miscarriage.

I've been for my early scan and midwife appointment. Everything is looking good on the scan. Well, it's looking like a mysterious blob, but she showed me the heartbeat. So relieved. I've got my 12 week scan in the middle of May.

Pops1985 · 21/04/2016 12:47

Today I am fed up. So little sleep, constant nausea and generally feeling like an emotionally deflated balloon... I'm going away for work tomorrow night and I emailed HR telling them confidentially that I'm pregnant and how does that effect my work travel insurance and they didn't even reply. Really don't want to end up in hospital in the Middle East by myself so hopefully nothing will go wrong, probably overthinking things again. Anyway, sorry for the rant- just having a day where it all is getting on top of me. Only 33 weeks to go :(

Helbelle75 · 21/04/2016 13:07

firwala I've definitely been feeling dizzy. I'm having to stand up very slowly at work so I don't collapse in the classroom!
pops that's a bit annoying of work not to reply. Hope your trip goes well.
Congratulations swancourt. Try not to worry too much xx

BertieBotts · 21/04/2016 13:44

I was bleeding a little today :( so we went to get checked out. Apparently my HCG was only 99.8 on Tuesday which is obviously why we didn't see anything! BUT they did re-scan today. We have a 2.5mm sac. They did stress that they can't tell us how it is going but she seemed positive, the fact that it's grown enough to be visible is a good sign, and apparently the blood looks old.

That does mean my dates are definitely off. So I'll be due somewhere around Christmas week now. They rebooked my next appointment for 3 May instead. I should be around 6 weeks by then.

barkingtreefrog · 21/04/2016 13:55

Excellent scan news bertie and Solomon Grin

barkingtreefrog · 21/04/2016 13:58

And in a slightly nasty way, I'm pleased that I'm not alone with the insomnia! HmmBlush Nice to know I've got company!

rider1975 · 21/04/2016 14:06

Good news so far Bertie - I'm sure seeing blood is very distressing !

Helbelle75 · 21/04/2016 14:27

That's good that they were positive Bertie. A Christmas baby!
I have my booking in appointment next week and I can't wait. I'll be 8 weeks.

Bigfam · 21/04/2016 14:35

That's good news Bertie. I've been AWOL for a few days do hi to all the newbies and hope everyone is OK. I've have been feeling absolutely awful, eating little and often isn't helping either, I've now started to feel sick whilst eating just from the texture of food... I think we'll go with a double buggy, but one where the second seat can be added and removed when needed. And I'm not brave enough to go ahead with the home birth, so will text the mw tomorrow and book in for the mw led unit and hopefully get my first appointment date, so still no edd here yet. I'm not sure it will be accurate from going by my dates anyway as my cycle was irregular

ChoChang · 21/04/2016 14:59

Welcome and congratulations swan

solomon great that your early scan went well, Bertie yours sounds positive too Smile

I didn't even know disturbed sleep was a common symptom of pregnancy, I'm usually out like a light and that's me til morning - not enjoying this bit at all, although v grateful to be going through it of course.

bigfam sorry to hear you're feeling so rough , hope it improves soon.

SolomanDaisy · 21/04/2016 15:17

I had disturbed sleep for a few weeks, but it seems to have passed now.

Good that there's progress on your scan Bertie.

My midwife is v keen for me to have another home birth! She'd have to persuade the consultant, because of my BMI, but since I had such a straightforward pregnancy and birth last time she thinks I'd be fine.

BertieBotts · 21/04/2016 15:43

My sleep is all over the place at the moment. I think DH is getting buffeted too or it might be his own anxiety. DC1 for him and he's really finding it a rollercoaster.

Bigfam · 21/04/2016 16:56

ChoChang thanks.
Flowers for everyone having a tough time with sleeping, that's my only positive thing at the moment (touch wood) I seem to be completely comatose at night, but I'm still so tired through the day. I try to ignore it in the morning and focus on getting the other 4 ready for the day, but yesterday I felt so awful DP had to take the older two to school making him late for work.

excitedmummytob · 21/04/2016 17:52

Hi ladies...panicking today, last week the nausea and slight sickness kicked in but now disappeared ConfusedConfused

Theaks · 21/04/2016 17:54

I can totally sympathise with people lacking sleep! It's horrible! I don't sleep over the winter months and have to use sleeping tablets occasionally. I haven't been suffering from poor sleep- quite the opposite my eyes are rolling by 9. But I'm with the ladies suffering with sickness. I was horrendous last week then I haven't felt bad for about 4 days- panicked me a bit why it had all gone! Sick again this morning and queasy most of the day! So pleased to feel sick! Can't believe I want to feel like this.

Azure83 · 21/04/2016 18:12

I'm bloated, hungry and have heartburn AT THE SAME TIME. Who's with me?!

Bigfam · 21/04/2016 18:33

Azure83 heartburn is horrible, I usually get it late in the third trimester and seem to glug gaviscon to relieve it. I'm just casually sat here, occasionally heaving & drinking water. I've given up trying to eat

rider1975 · 21/04/2016 19:10

Bloated n very gassy - bad for all in the vicinity Shock

SouthDownsSunshine · 21/04/2016 19:19

I'm with you there bigfam, I can't bear to eat. I have to force anything in.

Don't worry excitedmum, the symptoms do (thankfully) come and go in the early weeks. I'm now 8 weeks (or 7+5 by scan) and they're constant and I wish they weren't!

weechops · 21/04/2016 19:49

azure right there with you Rennies tablets help me a little and I remember from my last pregnancy - Love Heart sweeties worked too!

My dh is a total gem. He got a performance bonus from his company, and bought the Tommee Tippee perfect prep machine!!! I'd been thinking about getting it as this time round dh works abroad so I'll be on my own a lot and every little extra help, well, helps 😄 He called today all excited bless him 😍

swancourt · 21/04/2016 20:21

Thanks for the welcome :)

So sorry for those of you feeling sick. I vommed in the street, in front of colleagues, all over the place with both my healthy pregnancies (and knew something was wrong - for me - last time when at 8 weeks I'd not had a hint of nausea). So while I'm not even 4 weeks pregnant yet, and not yet being sick, in a couple of weeks I actually hope I'm there in the toilet bowl with you :D

Commiserations though - it's fucking awful.

Bigfam · 21/04/2016 20:33

swancourt Sad (hugs)

I too hope you'll be joining us with our heads down the loo soon Smile

BertieBotts · 21/04/2016 20:44

Yes to bloated, hungry, and having intermittent heartburn :)

I am still bleeding a little which is not great. DH did very sensibly point out that just because they checked me today it isn't going to make me magically stop bleeding which is true. All we can do is wait and see. We know it isn't ectopic, so I don't have to worry about that. Just waiting. Which is hard. I don't even have an idea of which way it will go. :( Probably going to have a quiet day at home tomorrow. I had plans but they would put me an hour and a half away. DH said he will work from home if I want him to.
